| 1 | Isotope Chronology and Geochemistry of the Lower Carboniferous Granite in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘Geochronological and geochemical analyses were performed on K-feldspar granites and monzonitic granites from the Xilinhot area, Inner Mongolia, China. Zircon U/Pb ages indicate that the two types granites were emplaced during the Lower Carboniferous. The K-feldspar granites(332 Ma) have the typical A-type granite characteristics of a post-collision setting. The monzonitic granites have an emplacement age of 323 Ma. Zircon εHf values of the former range from +12.8 to +14.2, with an average T_(DM2) of 453 Ma. The latter have lower zircon ε_(Hf) values, ranging from +5.4 to +10.7, with an average T_(DM2) of 798 Ma. The strong, positive ε_(Hf) values of the zircon indicate that both sets of samples are from a juvenile crust formed in an oceanic crust subduction stage, although the monzonitic granite may have undergone a hybridization of crustal materials. These results indicate a younger post orogenic event. | 2 | Micro RNA profiles and potential regulatory pattern during the early stage of spermatogenesis in mice显示文摘Spermatogenesis is a complicated and poorly understood process that relies on the precise regulation of the self-renewal and differentiation of spermatogonia. In many organisms, micro RNAs(mi RNAs) are involved in multiple developmental processes as critical regulators of transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene silencing. This study investigated the expression pattern of mi RNAs in type B spermatogonia cells(BSc) and primary spermatocytes(PSc) of mice, using a high-throughput small RNA sequencing system. The results revealed that the expression levels of Let-7 family mi RNAs were remarkably high in both cell types. Furthermore, the expression levels of mi R-21, mi R-140-3p, mi R-103, mi R-30 a, mi R-101 b and mi R-99 b were decreased during the transformation from BSc to PSc. These mi RNAs target vital genes that participate in apoptosis, cell proliferation and differentiation, junction assembly and cell cycle regulation. | 3 | Differentiations of geographic distribution and subsistence strategies between Tibetan and other major ethnic groups are determined by the physical environment in Hehuang Valley显示文摘The people of the Tibetan Plateau have received extensive attention from scholars because of their unique adaptability to the low temperature and anoxic environments. However, the Tibetan communities and their habitats in the low-altitude regions of the plateau have rarely been studied in a scientific manner. Based on the extraction of geographic information of 197 towns in the Hehuang Valley and on variance analysis, this study examines the habitats and subsistence strategies of the Tibetans and other major ethnic groups in the low-latitude region of the Tibetan Plateau. Our statistical results show that the annual average temperature of Tibetan habitats in the Hehuang Valley is relatively high. The relatively warm environment of the valley allows the Tibetans in that area to cultivate wheat and barley and raise cattle and sheep—a subsistence strategy significantly different from that of other Tibetans in the high-altitude regions in the Tibetan Plateau. In addition, the Tibetan communities in the Hehuang Valley include similar agri-pastoral ethnic groups (including Hui and Salar), both of which adopt similar subsistence strategies. The agricultural ethnic groups (Han and Tu) live in a relatively cool and humid environment facilitating agricultural production, while the agri-pastoral ethnic groups (Tibetan, Hui, and Salar) inhabit relatively warm and arid environment in the valley. Due to the lack of agricultural activities, agri-pastoral groups must also engage in animal husbandry to supplement their diet. In the Ando Tibetan region, the subsistence strategies of the ethnic groups are closely related to their physical environment.Those ethnic groups communicate among themselves, integrate, and influence each other, resulting in a diversified culture. This study proves that the habitat variation at a regional scale corresponds significantly to the variation of subsistence strategies. | 5 | Salt-tolerant Microbiota Enhancing Contaminants Removal from Mariculture Wastewater Containing Sulfamethoxazole in an A/O-MBBR显示文摘The wide application of antibiotics in aquaculture requires an efficient treatment of the wastewater before discharging it into the environment.During the wastewater treatment,the influence of antibiotics on the performance of bioreactor should be well revealed due to their toxicity to the functional microbial community.In this study,the effect of feeding 10-30 mg L−1 sulfamethoxazole(SMX)in influent on the performance of an anoxic/oxic-moving bed biofilm reactor(A/O-MBBR)treating mariculture wastewater and the responding change of biofilm microbial communities was investigated.The COD average removal rate remained at 94.61%-97.34%with the dosage of SMX.Compared with that,the nitrifying removals of NH4+-N and NO2−-N were violently inhibited by 30 mg L−1 SMX and denitrifying removal of the NO3−-N decreased obviously with 20 mg L−1 or more SMX.The microbial community in the successful startup bioreactor was relatively abundant,while the diversity of microbial community decreased with the increase of feeding SMX.The salt-tolerant and SMX-resistant genera Arcobacter,Thiothrix,Desulfuromusa and Nitrosomonas were gradually enriched and finally played a vital role in converting COD and recycling nitrogen and sulfur.Hence,the present A/O-MBBR reactor with the salt-tolerant functional microbiota achieved efficient removal of pollutants in the presence of low concentration(e.g.,10 mg L−1)SMX. | ZHENG Bingbing PANG Wenhui ZHAO Yangguo GUO Liang GAO Mengchun JIN Chunji SHE Zonglian | 2020 | Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,4: | 1 |

| 15 | Screening the stage-specific expression gene from different germ cells of rat显示文摘Objective: To screen the stage-specific expression genes from rat spermatogonia, pachytene spermatocytes and round spermatids. Methods: Highly purified spermatogonia were isolated from 9-day-old rats, pachytene spermatocytes and round spermatids from adult rats by sedimentation velocity at unit gravity, using 2%-4% BSA gradient in DMEM/F12 medium. A mRNA differential display method was used for screening the stage-specific expression gene. Results: Nineteen differentially expressed cDNA fragments were obtained. After excluding the false positive cDNA fragments by dot blot, 13 cDNAs were selected to clone and sequence. To obtain longer cDNAs, six ESTs were used to screen the rat testis λ-zap II cDNA library. Two longer cDNA fragments, designated as LY21 and LM66, were obtained. The analysis with DNAMAN software indicated that LY21 had a long open reading frame coding 372 amino acids while LM66 had no long open reading frame. LY21 were highly homologous with hnRNP H1. To observe the expression patterns of LY21 gene in the testicular cells, we performed in situ hybridization on testis sections from adult rats. The LY21 gene expression was found in the spermatogonia and primary spermatocytes.Conclusion: This study indicated that LY21 gene was associated with spermatogenesis.
