| 2 | Complement C3 activation regulates the production of tRNA-derived fragments Gly-tRFs and promotes alcohol-induced liver injury and steatosis显示文摘Complement is known to play a role in alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD), but the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood, thereby constraining the development of a rational approach for therapeutic intervention in the complement system. C3 deficiency has been shown to impart protective effects against ethanol-induced hepatic steatosis and inflammation. Here we demonstrate a protection effect in wild-type mice by treatment with CR2-Crry, a specific inhibitor of C3 activation. The expression of glycine transfer (t) RNA-derived fragments (Gly-tRFs) is upregulated in ethanol-fed mice and inhibition of Gly-tRFs in vivo decreases chronic ethanol feeding-induced hepatosteatosis without affecting inflammation. The expression of Gly-tRF was downregulated in C3-deficient or CR2-Crry-treated mice, but not in C5-deficient mice;Gly-tRF expression was restored by the C3 activation products C3a or Asp (C3a-des-Arg) via the regulation of CYP2E1. Transcriptome profiling of hepatic tissues showed that Gly-tRF inhibitors upregulate the expression of sirtuin1 (Sirt1) and subsequently affect downstream lipogenesis and β-oxidation pathways. Mechanistically, Gly-tRF interacts with AGO3 to downregulate Sirt1 expression via sequence complementarity in the 3′ UTR. Notably, the expression levels of C3d, CYP2E1 and Gly-tRF are upregulated, whereas Sirt1 is decreased in AFLD patients compared to healthy controls. Collectively, our findings suggest that C3 activation products contribute to hepatosteatosis by regulating the expression of Gly-tRF. | 3 | Rice(Oryza sativa L.)seedlings enriched with zinc or manganese:Their impacts on cadmium accumulation and expression of related genes显示文摘Cadmium(Cd)contamination in paddy soils means that the rice produced there may be unsafe for human consumption.A hydroponic study was conducted to enrich rice seedlings with zinc(Zn)or manganese(Mn),and the uptake and transport characteristics of Cd in these Zn-and Mn-rich seedlings were subsequently investigated using a greenhouse pot trial.The results showed that hydroponic cultivation in 10-50μmol L^(-1) Zn(ZnSO_(4)·7 H_(2)O)or50-250μmol L^(-1) Mn(MnSO_(4)·H_(2)O)for 30 d had no significant impact on rice growth,while the accumulation of Zn and Mn was 7.31-18.5 and 25.4-47.7 times higher,respectively,than in the control(no Zn or Mn addition).The accumulation of Cd in the Zn-and Mn-rich rice plants was 26.3%-38.6% and 34.4%-44.5% lower than that in the control,respectively,and the translocation factors of Cd from roots to shoots also decreased by 23.3%-41.3% and 25.3%-37.0%,respectively,after transplanting to Cd-contaminated soils.Furthermore,the relative expression levels of OsIRT1(Oryza sativa iron-regulated transporter 1)were downregulated by 40.1%-59.3% and 16.0%-25.9%,respectively,in the Zn-and Mn-rich seedling roots.This downregulation may indicate a possible mechanism contributing to the reductions in Cd absorption.Field experiments confirmed that the Zn-and Mn-rich seedlings produced brown rice(unpolished rice grains)with significantly decreased concentrations of Cd(34.2%-44.4%).This study provides an innovative method for reducing the food safety risks from rice grown on slightly to moderately Cd-contaminated paddy soils. | Gaoxiang HUANG Changfeng DING Yibing MA Yurong WANG Zhigao ZHOU Shun'an ZHENG Xingxiang WANG | 2021 | Pedosphere2021,31,6: | 2 |
| 4 | High-efficiency ultra-thin Cu_(2)ZnSnS_(4) solar cells by double-pressure sputtering with spark plasma sintered quaternary target显示文摘In recent years,Cu_(2)ZnSnS_(4)(CZTS)semiconductor materials have received intensive attention in the field of thin-film solar cells owing to its non-toxic and low-cost elements.In this work,double-pressure sputtering technology is applied to obtain highly efficient and ultra-thin(-450 nm)pure Cu_(2)ZnSnS_(4)(CZTS)solar cell.Using mixed materials with sulfides and copper powder as a quaternary target via spark plasma sintering(SPS)method and adopting double-layer sputtering(high+low pressure),a highly adhesive and large-grained CZTS thin film is achieved.As a result,the damage to the surface of Mo contact is decreased so that the reflectivity of incident light can be improved.Moreover,the composition of CZTS film was more uniform and the secondary phase separation at the Mo interface was reduced.Therefore,the interface defect state and deep level defect density in corresponding device with double-pressure is reduced and the ratio of depletion thickness to absorption layer thickness can reached to 0.58,which promoted the collection of photogenerated carriers.Finally,an efficiency of 9.3%for ultra-thin(~450 nm)CZTS film solar cell is obtained. | Ping Fan Zhigao Xie Guangxing Liang Muhammad Ishaq Shuo Chen Zhuanghao Zheng Chang Yan Jialiang Huang Xiaojing Hao Yi Zhang Zhenghua Su | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,10: | 2 |
| 5 | Simulation of the fluidic features for diffuser/nozzle involved in a PZT-based valveless micropump显示文摘PZT-based valveless micropump is a microactuator that can be used for controlling and delivering tiny amounts of fluids,and diffuser/nozzle plays an important role when this type of micropump drives the fluid flowing along a specific direction.In this paper,a numerical model of micropump has been proposed,and the fluidic properties of diffuser/nozzle have been simulated with ANSYS.With the method of finite-element analysis,the increased pressure drop between inlet and outlet of diffuser/nozzle induces the increment of flow rate in both diffuser and nozzle simultaneously,but the increasing rate of diffuser is faster than that of nozzle.The L/R,ratio of L(length of cone pipe) and R(radius of minimal cross section of cone pipe) plays an important role in fluidic performance of diffuser and nozzle as well,and the mean flow rate will decrease with increment of L/R.The mean flow rate reaches its peak value when L/R with the value of 10 regardless the divergence angle of diffuser or nozzle.The simulation results indicate that the fluidic properties of diffuser/nozzle can be defined by its geometric structure,and accordingly determine the efficiency of micropump. | HouWensheng Zheng Xiaolin Biswajit Das Jiang Yingtao Qian Shizhi Wu Xiaoying Zheng Zhigao | 2008 | 仪器仪表学报2008,29,1: | 2 |
| 6 | Magnetism and work function of Ni-Cu alloys as metal gates显示文摘The magnetism and work function of pure Ni(001) and Ni-Cu slab alloys were investigated using first-principles methods based on density functional theory. The calculated results reveal that both magnetic moments and work functions of the alloys depend strongly on the surface orientation, but hardly on the distribution of doped Cu atoms for a given surface orientation. It is found that the doped Cu atoms have evident influence on the magnetic moment of Ni-Cu slabs, and the average magnetic moment of Ni atoms for Ni-Cu alloys decreases with increasing concentration of Cu atoms. Moreover, it is observed that the work function of Ni(001) is insensitive to the supercell thickness and the inner concentration of Cu atoms.
