| 2 | An analytical symplectic approach to the vibration analysis of orthotropic graphene sheets显示文摘A nonlocal continuum orthotropic plate model is proposed to study the vibration behavior of single-layer graphene sheets(SLGSs) using an analytical symplectic approach. A Hamiltonian system is established by introducing a total unknown vector consisting of the displacement amplitude, rotation angle, shear force, and bending moment.The high-order governing differential equation of the vibration of SLGSs is transformed into a set of ordinary differential equations in symplectic space. Exact solutions for free vibration are obtianed by the method of separation of variables without any trial shape functions and can be expanded in series of symplectic eigenfunctions. Analytical frequency equations are derived for all six possible boundary conditions. Vibration modes are expressed in terms of the symplectic eigenfunctions. In the numerical examples, comparison is presented to verify the accuracy of the proposed method. Comprehensive numerical examples for graphene sheets with Levy-type boundary conditions are given. | 3 | A Neuronal Pathway that Commands Deceleration in Drosophila Larval Light-Avoidance显示文摘When facing a sudden danger or aversive condition while engaged in on-going forward motion,animals transiently slow down and make a turn to escape.The neural mechanisms underlying stimulation-induced deceleration in avoidance behavior are largely unknown.Here, we report that in Drosophila larvae, light-induced deceleration was commanded by a continuous neural pathway that included prothoracicotropic hormone neurons, eclosion hormone neurons, and tyrosine decarboxylase 2 motor neurons(the PET pathway). Inhibiting neurons in the PET pathway led to defects in lightavoidance due to insufficient deceleration and head casting.On the other hand, activation of PET pathway neurons specifically caused immediate deceleration in larval locomotion. | 4 | Development of a widely targeted volatilomics method for profiling volatilomes in plants显示文摘Volatile organic compounds play essential roles in plant environment interactions as well as determining the fragrance of plants.Although gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-based untargeted metabolo-mics is commonly used to assess plant volatiles,it suffers from high spectral convolution,low detection sensitivity,a limited number of annotated metabolites,and relatively poor reproducibility.Here,we report a widely targeted volatilomics(WTV)method that involves using a“targeted spectra extraction”algorithm to address spectral convolution,constructing a high-coverage MS2 spectral tag library to expand volatile annotation,adapting a multiple reaction monitoring mode to improve sensitivity,and using regression models to adjust for signal drift.The newly developed method was used to profile the volatilome of rice grains.Compared with the untargeted method,the newly developed WTV method shows higher sensitivity(for example,the signal-to-noise ratio of guaicol increased from 4.1 to 18.8),high annotation coverage(the number of annotated volatiles increased from 43 to 132),and better reproducibility(the number of volatiles in quality control samples with relative standard deviation value below 30.0%increased from 14 to 92 after normalization).Using the WTV method,we studied the metabolic responses of tomato to environmental stimuli and profiled the volatilomes of different rice accessions.The results identified benzothiazole as a potential airborne signal priming tomato plants for enhanced defense and 2-nonanone and 2-heptanone as novel aromatic compounds contributing to rice fragrance.These case studies suggest that the widely targeted volatilomics method is more efficient than those currently used and may considerably promote plant volatilomics studies. | Honglun Yuan Guangping Cao Xiaodong Hou Menglan Huang Pengmeng Du Tingting Tan Youjin Zhang Haihong Zhou Xianqing Liu Ling Liu Yiding Jiangfang Yufei Li Zhenhuan Liu Chuanying Fang Liqing Zhao Alisdair R.Fernie Jie Luo | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,1: | 2 |

| 10 | Using benzene carboxylic acids to prepare zirconium-based catalysts for the conversion of biomass-derived furfural显示文摘Benzene carboxylic acid (BCAs) are common and useful chemical blocks, which can be derived from the abundant low rank coals (LRCs) via oxidative degradation. In this work, we proposed a novel strategy to utilize BCAs as raw materials to prepare catalysts with transition metal zirconium, and the prepared catalysts were applied into the conversion of the renewable biomass resources. Typical model BCAs in the oxidative products of LRCs, including pyromellitic acid, trimesic acid (TMSA), trimellitic acid, and benzoic acid, were used as the block to construct the Zr- BCAs catalysts. The chemoselective conversion of furfural into furfuryl alcohol (FAL). an important reaction in the biomass conversion chain, is chosen to evaluate the activity of the catalysts. The preparation conditions of the catalysts and experiment factors during the reaction were systematically investigated. The prepared catalysts were characterized by SEM, TEM, XRD and TG-DTG. The results showed that the prepared catalysts were efficient for the conversion of furfural into FAL, among which Zr-TMSA gave the highest activity. Zr-TMSA could be recycled for ten times without obvious deactivation, indicating an excellent stability.
