2Femtosecond Laser Precision Engineering: From Micron, Submicron, to Nanoscale显示文摘As a noncontact strategy with flexible tools and high efficiency,laser precision engineering is a significant advanced processing way for high-quality micro-/nanostructure fabrication,especially to achieve novel functional photoelectric structures and devices.For the microscale creation,several femtosecond laser fabrication methods,including multiphoton absorption,laserinduced plasma-assisted ablation,and incubation effect have been developed.Meanwhile,the femtosecond laser can be combined with microlens arrays and interference lithography techniques to achieve the structures in submicron scales.Down to nanoscale feature sizes,advanced processing strategies,such as near-field scanning optical microscope,atomic force microscope,and microsphere,are applied in femtosecond laser processing and the minimum nanostructure creation has been pushed down to~25 nm due to near-field effect.The most fascinating femtosecond laser precision engineering is the possibility of large-area,high-throughput,and far-field nanofabrication.In combination with special strategies,including dual femtosecond laser beam irradiation,~15 nm nanostructuring can be achieved directly on silicon surfaces in far field and in ambient air.The challenges and perspectives in the femtosecond laser precision engineering are also discussed.Zhenyuan Lin Minghui Hong 2021Ultrafast Science2021,,1:13

6Enhancement of femtosecond laser-induced surface ablation via temporal overlapping double-pulse irradiation显示文摘This paper reports the physical phenomenon of the temporal overlapping double femtosecond laser-induced ablation enhancement at different time delays.Detailed thermodynamic modeling demonstrates the ablation enhancement is highly dependent on the first pulse's laser fluence.In the case of the first pulse laser fluence being higher than material's ablation threshold,the ablation enhancement is attributed to optical absorption modification by the first pulse ablation.While the first pulse's laser fluence is lower than the material's ablation threshold,the first pulse-induced melting leads to much higher absorption of the second pulse.However,for the case of the first pulse's laser fluence even lower than melting threshold,the ablation enhancement decreases obviously with time delay.The results of the temporal overlapping double femtosecond laser ablation of poly(ε-caprolactone)are in good agreement with the theoretical predictions.ZHENYUAN LIN LINGFEI JI MINGHUI HONG 2020Photonics Research2020,8,3:5

8Estimation of the age of human semen stains by attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy:a preliminary study显示文摘Semen stain is one of the most important biological evidence at sexual crime scenes.Age estimation of human semen stains plays an important role in forensic work,and it is rarely studied due to lack of well-established methods.In this study,the technique called attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(ATR-FTIR)coupled with advanced chemometric methods was employed to determine the age of semen stains on three different substrates:glass slides,tissues and fabric made of regenerated cellulose fibres up to 6 d.Partial least squares regression(PLSR)was used in conjunction with spectral analysis for age estimation,and the results generated high R2 values(cross-validation:0.81,external validation:0.74)but a narrow margin of error for root mean square error(RMSE)(RMSE of cross-validation:0.77 d,RMSE of prediction:1.02 d).Additionally,our results indicated the robustness of PLSR model was not weaken by the influence of different substrates in this study.Our results indicate that ATR-FTIR,combined with chemometric methods,shows great potential as a convenient and efficient tool for age estimation of semen stains.Moreover,the method could be applied to routine forensic investigations in the future.Shuai Zha Xin Wei Ruoxi Fang Qi Wang Hancheng Lin Kai Zhang Haohui Zhang Ruina Liu Zhouru Li Ping Huang Zhenyuan Wang 2020Forensic Sciences Research2020,5,2:2
9Identification of candidate genes controlling fiber quality traits in upland cotton through integration of meta-QTL,significant SNP and transcriptomic data显示文摘Background:Meta-analysis of quantitative trait locus(QTL)is a computational technique to identify consensus QTL and refine QTL positions on the consensus map from multiple mapping studies.The combination of meta-QTL intervals,significant SNPs and transcriptome analysis has been widely used to identify candidate genes in various plants.Results:In our study,884 QTLs associated with cotton fiber quality traits from 12 studies were used for meta-QTL analysis based on reference genome TM-1,as a result,74 meta-QTLs were identified,including 19 meta-QTLs for fiber length;18 meta-QTLs for fiber strength;11 meta-QTLs for fiber uniformity;11 meta-QTLs for fiber elongation;and 15 meta-QTLs for micronaire.Combined with 8589 significant single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with fiber quality traits collected from 15 studies,297 candidate genes were identified in the meta-QTL intervals,20 of which showed high expression levels specifically in the developing fibers.According to the function annotations,some of the 20 key candidate genes are associated with the fiber development.Conclusions:This study provides not only stable QTLs used for marker-assisted selection,but also candidate genes to uncover the molecular mechanisms for cotton fiber development.XU Shudi PAN Zhenyuan YIN Feifan YANG Qingyong LIN Zhongxu WEN Tianwang ZHU Longfu ZHANG Dawei NIE Xinhui 2020Journal of Cotton Research2020,3,4:1

11Microsphere femtosecond laser sub-50 nm structuring in far field via non-linear absorption显示文摘Creation of arbitrary features with high resolution is critically important in the fabrication of nano-optoelectronic devices.Here,sub-50 nm surface structuring is achieved directly on Sb2S3 thin films via microsphere femtosecond laser irradi-ation in far field.By varying laser fluence and scanning speed,nano-feature sizes can be flexibly tuned.Such small patterns are attributed to the co-effect of microsphere focusing,two-photons absorption,top threshold effect,and high-repetition-rate femtosecond laser-induced incubation effect.The minimum feature size can be reduced down to~30 nm(λ/26)by manipulating film thickness.The fitting analysis between the ablation width and depth predicts that the feature size can be down to~15 nm at the film thickness of~10 nm.A nano-grating is fabricated,which demonstrates desirable beam diffraction performance.This nano-scale resolution would be highly attractive for next-generation laser nano-lithography in far field and in ambient air.Zhenyuan Lin Kuan Liu Tun Cao Minghui Hong 2023Opto-Electronic Advances2023,6,6:1

15Sound absorbing properties of spiral metasurfaces inspired by micro-perforated plates显示文摘As a kind of classical low-frequency sound-absorbing material,the microperforated plate(MPP)has been widely used.Here,we inspired by the sound absorption mechanism of the MPP,a spiral metasurface(SM)is designed and the analytical solution of acoustic impedance and sound absorption coefficient are obtained.The relationship between the sound absorption properties of the MPP and the SM with their own structures is systematically studied,and the analytical solutions are used to optimise the structure.It is concluded that the MPP and the SM of the same thickness achieve effective absorption in the frequency range between 390-900 Hz and 1920-4266 Hz,with a total thickness less than 1/6 of the wavelength.Meanwhile,the numerical calculation shows that the MPP and SM can match well with the background medium in the effective rang.Our study provides new insights into the design methods of sound-absorbing materials and is potentially suitable for many acoustic engineering applications.Han Zhang Pengxiang Hao Huilan Wu Zhenyuan Lin Chengpeng Hao Zhengpan Qi Ning Hu 2023Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2023,13,3:0
16Epitaxial growth triggered core-shell Pd@RuP nanorods for high-efficiency electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution显示文摘Ru with Pt-like hydrogen bond strength,knockdown cost(~1/3 of Pt),and eximious stability is a competitive replacement for Pt-based catalysts towards the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)in water splitting.The design of Ru-based catalysts via interface construction,crystal phase control,and specific light element doping to realize the impressive promotion of limited activity and stability remains challenging.Herein,we report the fabrication of Pd@RuP core-shell nanorods(NRs)via an epitaxial growth method,where ultrathin RuP shells extend the face-centered cubic(fcc)crystal structure and(111)plane of the Pd NRs core.Density functio nal theory results confirm that the core-s hell interface engineering and P doping synergistically accelerate electron transfer and moderate the d-band center to generate a suitable affinity for H*,thus optimizing HER kinetics.Compared with Pd@Ru NRs and Pt/C,the Pd@RuP NRs exhibit preferable electrocatalytic stability and superior activity with a low overpotential of 18 mV at 10 mA cm-2in the alkaline HER process.Furthermore,the integrated Pd@RuP//RuO2-based electrolyzer also displays a low operation potential of 1.42 V to acquire 10 mA cm-2,demonstrating great potential for practical water electrolysis.Our work presents an efficient avenue to design Ru-based electrocatalysts via epitaxial growth for extraordinary HER performance.Jiaqian Ding Xian Jiang Caikang Wang Zhuoya Zhu Chang Xu Yi Zhou Xuan Wang Qicheng Liu Zhenyuan Liu Yawen Tang Jun Lin Gengtao Fu 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,11:0
17Non-volatile dynamically switchable color display via chalcogenide stepwise cavity resonators显示文摘High-resolution multi-color printing relies upon pixelated optical nanostructures,which is crucial to promote color display by producing nonbleaching colors,yet requires simplicity in fabrication and dynamic switching.Antimony trisulfide(Sb_(2)S_(3))is a newly rising chalcogenide material that possesses prompt and significant transition of its optical characteristics in the visible region between amorphous and crystalline phases,which holds the key to color-varying devices.Herein,we proposed a dynamically switchable color printing method using Sb_(2)S_(3)-based stepwise pixelated Fabry-Pérot(FP)cavities with various cavity lengths.The device was fabricated by employing a direct laser patterning that is a less timeconsuming,more approachable,and low-cost technique.As switching the state of Sb_(2)S_(3) between amorphous and crystalline,the multi-color of stepwise pixelated FP cavities can be actively changed.The color variation is due to the profound change in the refractive index of Sb_(2)S_(3) over the visible spectrum during its phase transition.Moreover,we directly fabricated sub-50 nm nano-grating on ultrathin Sb_(2)S_(3) laminate via microsphere 800-nm femtosecond laser irradiation in far field.The minimum feature size can be further decreased down to~45 nm(λ/17)by varying the thickness of Sb_(2)S_(3) film.Ultrafast switchable Sb_(2)S_(3) photonic devices can take one step toward the next generation of inkless erasable papers or displays and enable information encryption,camouflaging surfaces,anticounterfeiting,etc.Importantly,our work explores the prospects of rapid and rewritable fabrication of periodic structures with nano-scale resolution and can serve as a guideline for further development of chalcogenide-based photonics components.Kuan Liu Zhenyuan Lin Bing Han Minghui Hong Tun Cao 2024Opto-Electronic Advances2024,7,1:0
18One‑Pot Rational Deposition of Coaxial Double‑Layer MnO_(2)/Ni(OH)_(2) Nanosheets on Carbon Nanofibers for High‑Performance Supercapacitors显示文摘Constructing“nanoglue”between inorganic electroactive species and conductive carbon scaffolds is an effective strategy to improve their compatibility and binding interaction,holding a great promise for fabricating high-performance hybrid electrodes for supercapacitors.However,multistep reactions are usually required to obtain these multicomponent systems,thus giving rise to the complicated and time-consuming issues.Herein,we for the first time,demonstrate a green one-pot method to anchor coaxial double-layer MnO_(2)/Ni(OH)_(2)nanosheets on electrospun carbon nanofibers(CNFs)(denoted as MNC),where the intermediate MnO_(2)layer serves as the“nanoglue”to couple the vertically aligned Ni(OH)_(2)nanosheets and conductive CNFs.Benefiting from the unique chemical composition and hierarchical architecture,the resultant electrode delivers outstanding electrochemical performance,including an excellent specific capacitance(1133.3 F g^(-1)at 1 A g^(-1))and an ultrahigh rate capability(844.4 F g^(-1)at 20 A g^(-1)).Moreover,the asymmetric supercapacitor assembled by using the MNC as positive electrode and the CNF as negative electrode can achieve an optimal energy density of 35.1 Wh kg^(-1)and a maximum power density of 8000 W kg^(-1).The one-pot strategy that stabilizes electroactive metal hydroxides on conductive carbons using a MnO_(2)“nanoglue”to design advanced hybrid electrodes is expected to be broadly applicable not only to the supercapacitor technology but also to other electrochemical applications.Guangdi Nie Zhenyuan Zhang Yingqi Liu Jian Wang Chen Fu Haiqi Yin Juan Chen Lin Zhao Zhenghui Pan 2022Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,5:0
19Association mapping and domestication analysis to dissect genetic improvement process of upland cotton yield-related traits in China显示文摘Background: Cotton fiber yield is a complex trait,which can be influenced by multiple agronomic traits.Unravelling the genetic basis of cotton fiber yield-related traits contributes to genetic improvement of cotton.Results: In this study,503 upland cotton varieties covering the four breeding stages(BS1–BS4,1911–2011)in China were used for association mapping and domestication analysis.One hundred and forty SSR markers significantly associated with ten fiber yield-related traits were identified,among which,29 markers showed an increasing trend contribution to cotton yield-related traits from BS1 to BS4,and 26 markers showed decreased trend effect.Four favorable alleles of 9 major loci(R^(2)≥3)were strongly selected during the breeding stages,and the candidate genes of the four strongly selected alleles were predicated according to the gene function annotation and tissue expression data.Conclusions :The study not only uncovers the genetic basis of 10 cotton yield-related traits but also provides genetic evidence for cotton improvement during the cotton breeding process in China.GUO Chunping PAN Zhenyuan YOU Chunyuan ZHOU Xiaofeng HUANG Cong SHEN Chao ZHAO Ruihai YANG Qingyong ZHU Longfu SHAHZAD Raheel MENG Fande LIN Zhongxu NIE Xinhui 2021Journal of Cotton Research2021,4,2:0
