| 1 | A New Platy-armored Worm from the Early Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstatte,South China显示文摘The Lower Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstatte provides a good window to explore the origin and radiation of early bilaterians. Here we describe a netted sclerite-bearing worm Tabelliscolex hexagonus gen. et sp. nov., and tentatively assign it to palaeoscolecidans of priapulids. The cuticle of the animal is covered with two kinds of platy sclerites which are constructed by hexagonally arranged tubercles. | 2 | The earliest-known ancestors of Recent Priapulomorpha from the Early Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstatte显示文摘The taxonomy of an early ancestor of Recent Priapulidae, Xiaoheiqingella peculiaris (= Yunnanpriapulus halteroformis Huang et al., 2004) from the Early Cambrian Chengjiang fossil Lagerst?tte, is revised. Morphological characters comprise a pair of caudal appendages rather than a single appendage flanking the trunk end and a possible urogenital duct found inside the preanal region. An addi- tional extremely rare fossil priapulid worm, Paratubiluchus bicaudatus gen. nov., sp. nov. is also described herein. Its diagnostic characters are: an introvert bearing 25 longitudi- nal rows of scalids, a distinct neck region, no annulus on the oval trunk, and a pair of caudal appendages. The proportion of body parts is similar in size to that of loricate larvae of Recent priapulids and larva-formed Palaeopriapulitidae. Taking account of the features of Xiaoheiqingella, bicaudal appendages are considered to be a synapomorphy of Pri- apulidae and Tubiluchidae. | 3 | Pediculate Brachiopod Diandongia pista from the Lower Cambrian of South China显示文摘The Chengjiang Lagerstatte has been celebrated for prolific soft-bodied fossils. Based on specimens recentlyexcavated in the Chengjiang Lagerstatte by the Early Life Institute, Northwest University, Diandongiapista Rong, 1974, isdirectly revealed to be a pediculate brachiopod, assigned to the Family Botsfordiidae, as is further confirmed by theexceptionally preserved vascular system including dorsal and ventral mantle canals. These specimens described hereinexhibit some peculiarities, notably the extremely thin and long pedicles, which suggest that Diandongia is epifaunal ratherthan burrowing brachiopod. | 5 | Preliminary notes on soft-bodied fossil concentrations from the Early Cambrian Chengjiang deposits显示文摘The efforts of labor-intensive collecting in the Early Cambrian Chengjiang deposits in eastern Yunnan Province, China led to the discovery of many horizons containing exceptionally well preserved soft-bodied fossil concentrations, many of which can be assigned to either monospecific concentrations or paucispecific concentrations. The features of these fossil concentrations support the hypothesis that frequent storm events producing tempestites mainly contributed to the preservation of abundant soft- bodied fossils in the Chengjiang deposits, and indi- cate that the balance of the ecological web in this region was probably frequently destroyed or upset by such storm events during that geological time. | 6 | New observations of the lobopod-like worm Facivermis from the Early Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstatte显示文摘Facivermis yunnanicus (Hou & Chen, 1989), from the Early Cambrian Chengjiang Lager- st?tte, a worm-like fossil with 5 pairs of tentacles and a perceived shrunken end, has been regarded as related to polychaetes, later it has been variously interpreted as lobopods, Pentastoma and lopho- phorates. Newly discovered complete specimens by the ELI field team show that the taxon has, in addition to the 5 pairs of appendages, a pear-shaped trunk end bearing two or three circles of hooks. Accordingly, based on these important morphological characters, reconsideration of its affinities is provided and the taxonomy is remedied herein. Because the five pairs of appendages of Facivermis yunnanicus resemble the appendages of the fore-trunk of lobopod Mi- raluolishania (Liu & Shu, 2004), it seems that they are homologous structures. | 7 | Comparative study of Cambrian lobopods Miraluolishania and Luolishania显示文摘The rare fossil Miraluolishania described by Liu et al. from the Lower Cambrian Chengjiang Lagersttte in 2004 is regarded as an arthropod sphinx because it bears mosaic features of both lobopods and arthropods. The discovery of this rare transitional form offers direct fossil evidence for exploring the relationship between lobopods and arthropods. However, some scientists consider Miraluolishania to be a junior synonym of Luolishania because the former superficially resembles the latter in general appearance. Considering the significant differences between the two taxa, a thorough comparative study of Miraluolishania and Luolishania leads to the conclusion that there are definitely two different genera. | 8 | LncRNA LINC00525 suppresses p21 expression viamRNA decay and triplex-mediated changes in chromatin structure in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Background:Emerging evidence suggests that long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)play crucial roles in various cancers.In the present study,we aim to investigate the function and molecular mechanism of an up-regulated and survivalassociated lncRNA,LINC00525,in lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD).Methods:The expression level of LINC00525 in tissueswas determined by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)and in situ hybridization(ISH).The functional role of LINC00525 in LUAD was investigated using gain-and loss-of-function approaches,both in vivo and in vitro.RNA pull-down,RNA immunoprecipitation(RIP),chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP),triplex-capture assay,dual-luciferase assay,gene expression microarray,and bioinformatics analysis were used to investigate the potential underlying mechanisms involved.Results:LINC00525 is highly expressed in LUAD cells and tissues.Survival analysis indicated that upregulation of LINC00525 was associated with poor prognosis in patients with LUAD patients.Knockdown of LINC00525 inhibited cell proliferation and cell cycle progression in vitro.In xenograft models,LINC00525 knockdown suppressed tumor growth and tumorigenesis of tumorbearing mice.Mechanistically,LINC00525 epigenetically suppressed p21 transcription by guiding Enhancer Of Zeste 2 Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 Subunit(EZH2)to the p21 promoter through an formation of RNA-DNA triplex with the p21 promoter,leading to increased trimethylation of lysine 27 on histone 3(H3K27me3)of the p21 promoter.In addition,LINC00525 repressed p21 expression post-transcriptionally by enhancing p21mRNA decay.LINC00525 promoted p21mRNAdecay by competitively binding toRNABindingMotif Single Stranded Interacting Protein 2(RBMS2).Conclusion:Our findings demonstrate that LINC00525 promotes the progression of LUAD by reducing the transcription and stability of p21 mRNA in concert with EZH2 and RBMS2,thus suggesting that LINC00525 may be a potential therapeutic target for clinical intervention in LUAD. | Panqi Fang Hao Chen Zhifei Ma Chencheng Han Wenda Yin Siwei Wang Hongyu Zhu Wenjia Xia Jie Wang Lin Xu Tongyan Liu Rong Yin | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,7: | 2 |

| 11 | Dawn of complex animal food webs:A new predatory anthozoan(Cnidaria)from Cambrian显示文摘Cnidarians diverged very early in animal evolution;therefore,investigations of the morphology and trophic levels of early fossil cnidarians may provide critical insights into the evolution of metazoans and the origin of modern marine food webs.However,there has been a lack of unambiguous anthozoan cnidarians from Ediacaran assemblages,and undoubted anthozoans from the Cambrian radiation of metazoans are very rare and lacking in ecological evidence.Here,we report a new polypoid cnidarian,Nailiana elegans gen.et sp.nov.,represented by multiple solitary specimens from the early Cambrian Chengjiang biota(-520 Ma)of South China.These specimens show eight unbranched tentacles surrounding a single opening into the gastric cavity,which may have born multiple mesenteries.Thus,N.elegans displays a level of organization similar to that of extant cnidarians.Phylogenetic analyses place N.elegans in the stem lineage of Anthozoa and suggest that the ancestral anthozoan was a soft-bodied,solitary polyp showing octoradial symmetry.Moreover,one specimen of the new polyp preserves evidence of predation on an epifaunal lingulid brachiopod.This case provides the oldest direct evidence of macrophagous predation,the advent of which may have triggered the emergence of complex trophic/ecological relationships in Cambrian marine communities and spurred the explosive radiation of animal body plans. | Qiang Ou Degan Shu Zhifei Zhang Jian Han Heyo Van Iten Meirong Cheng Jie Sun Xiaoyong Yao Rong Wang Georg Mayer | 2022 | The Innovation2022,3,1: | 1 |

| 13 | Flexible substrates enabled highly integrated patterns with submicron precision toward intrinsically stretchable circuits显示文摘Fabricating high integration density,high resolution,and intrinsically stretchable patterns by patterned technologies remain challenging.Template printing enabled high-precision patterned fabrication at a facile operation.However,the pattern spacing constraint is the major limitation to high integration density.In this study,we develop an elastomer-assisted strategy to improve the template printing process,which involves patterning on the prestrain elastic substrate.This strategy overcomes the spacing limitation and enables the realization of a centimeter-scale pattern with submicron precision.Particularly,the integration density of fabricated intrinsically stretchable patterns can reach 1932 lines on a substrate of 0.5 cm2;the assembly lines with a feature size of 880 nm and an interval of 955 nm.Furthermore,we demonstrate a facile approach for constructing silver nanoparticle/liquid metal alloy composite conductive patterns.The as-prepared flexible electrodes can withstand up to 150%strain and a 2-mm bend radius.This method provides new insights into template printing technology.Additionally,it opens a route for the simultaneous construction of functional patterned arrays with large scale,high integration density,and intrinsic stretchability,which will be useful for the integrated fabrication of various flexible electronic devices. | Wenkun Lv Zhaoxin Liu Zheng Li Zhifei Han Yongrui Yang Qi Li Yali Qiao Yanlin Song | 2022 | SmartMat2022,3,3: | 0 |
