1Preliminary results pertaining to coseismic displacement and preseismic strain accumulation of the Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake,as reflected by GPS surveying显示文摘This paper presents the coseismic displacement and preseismic deformation fields of the Lushan MS7.0 earthquake that occurred on April 20,2013.The results are based on GPS observations along the Longmenshan fault and within its vicinity.The coseismic displacement and preseismic GPS results indicate that in the strain release of this earthquake,the thrust rupture is dominant and the laevorotation movement is secondary.Furthermore,we infer that any possible the rupture does not reach the earth’s surface,and the seismogenic fault is most likely one fault to the east of the Guanxian-Anxian fault.Some detailed results are obtainable.(1)The southern segment of the Longmenshan fault is locked preceding the Lushan earthquake.After the Wenchuan earthquake,the strain accumulation rate in the southeast direction accelerates in the epicenter of the Lushan earthquake,and the angle between the principal compressional strain and the seismogenic fault indicates that a sinistral deformation background in the direction of the seismogenic fault precedes the Lushan earthquake.Therefore,it is evident that the Wenchuan MS8.0 earthquake accelerated the pregnancy of the Lushan earthquake.(2)The coseismic displacements reflected by GPS data are mainly located in a region that is 230 km(NW direction)×100 km(SW direction),and coseismic displacements larger than 10 mm lie predominantly in a100-km region(NW direction).(3)On a large scale,the coseismic displacement shows thrust characteristics,but the associated values are remarkably small in the near field(within 70 km)of the earthquake fault.Meanwhile,the thrust movement in this70-km region does not correspond with the attenuation characteristics of the strain release,indicating that the rupture of this earthquake does not reach the earth’s surface.(4)The laevorotation movements are remarkable in the 50-km region,which is located in the hanging wall that is close to the earthquake fault,and the corresponding values in this case correlate with the attenuation characteristics of the strain release.WU YanQiang JIANG ZaiSen WANG Min CHE Shi LIAO Hua LI Qiang LI Peng YANG YongLin XIANG HePing SHAO ZhiGang WANG WuXing WEI WenXin LIU XiaoXia 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:33

3Clinical observation on effect of scalp electroacupuncture for mild cognitive impairment显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the therapeutic effect of scalp electroacupuncture for mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in the early stage. METHODS: Two hundred and thirty three MCI patients were randomly divided into three groups: the drug group, the scalp electroacupuncture group, and the syndrome differentiation group. For the scalp electroacupuncture group, the points of Baihui (DU 20), Sishecong (EX-HN1), Fengchi (GB 20), and Shenting (DU 24) were selected. For the syndrome differentiation group, specific acupoints were added on the basis of syndrome differentiation and according to the scale for the differentiation of syndromes in vascular dementia (SDSVD) beside the acupoints used in the scalp electroacupuncture group. For the drug group, nimodipine was orally administered. Each patient was treated for two courses, eight weeks. The score differences in minimental state examination (MMSE), picture recognition, and clock drawing test were observed before and after the treatment. RESULTS: After treatment, the score differences in MMSE and clock drawing test were of obvious statistical significance among three groups (P<0.01, P<0.05). The score differences in picture recognition were of extremely statistical significance between the scalp electroacupuncture group and the syndrome differentiation group (P<0.01), while the difference was not found in the drug group (P>0.05). There were statistical significant differences in therapeutic effects between the scalp electroacupuncture group and the drug group, and between the syndrome differentiation group and the drug group (P<0.05), while no statistical difference was found between scalp electroacupuncture group and the syndrome differentiation group (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: All the three therapies may improve the cognitive function of MCI patients. 4Pigment signatures of some diatoms isolated from China seas显示文摘The photosynthetic pigments of 12 species (14 strains) of cultured diatoms from six genera under specific conditions were examined by the HPLC. The diatom genera were Skeletonema, Thalassiosira, Chaetoceros, Nitzschia, Phaeodactylum and Meuniera. All strains were isolated from China seas and most of them were from the Jiaozhou Bay, China. Fifteen pigments were identified and eight of them were various chlorophyll a derivatives. Chlorophyll a, c2 and c1 and the carotenoids fucoxanthin, diadinoxanthin, diatoxanthin and β, β-carotene existed in all species. The ratios of each pigment to chlorophyll a were compared with the results in literatures. The pigment ratios of this study generally fall within the ranges reported by the literatures although the maximum ratio of fucoxanthin to chlorophyll a was higher and the ratios of chlorophyll c and diatoxanthin to chlorophyll a were low. 7Genome-wide Dissection of Co-selected UV-B Responsive Pathways in the UV-B Adaptation of Qingke显示文摘Qingke (Tibetan hulless barley) has long been cultivated and exposed to long-term and strong UV-B radiation on the Tibetan Plateau, which renders it an ideal species for elucidating novel UV-B responsive mechanisms in plants. Here we report a comprehensive metabolite profiling and metabolite-based genome-wide association study (mGWAS) using 196 diverse qingke and barley accessions. Our results demonstrated both constitutive and induced accumulation, and common genetic regulation, of metabolites from different branches of the phenylpropanoid pathway that are involved in UV-B protection. A total of 90 significant mGWAS loci for these metabolites were identified in barley-qingke differentiation regions, and a number of high-level metabolite trait alleles were found to be significantly enriched in qingke, suggesting co-selection of various phenylpropanoids. Upon dissecting the entire phenylpropanoid pathway, we identified some key determinants controlling natural variation of phenylpropanoid content, including three novel proteins, a flavone C-pentosyltransferase, a tyramine hydroxycinnamoyl acyltransferase, and a MYB transcription factor. 8Physical model test study on shear strength characteristics of slope sliding surface in Nanfen open-pit mine显示文摘A physical model for the footwall slope of Nanfen open-pit mine, China was established using a selfdeveloped deep geological engineering disaster model test system. A thermosensitive similar material,paraffin, was selected to simulate a weak structural plane in the slope to reproduce the landslide process.From an experimental perspective, the variation trend of shear strength parameters of weak structural plane and the mechanical support characteristics of NPR(negative Poisson’s ratio) anchor cable under the condition of a large landslide deformation and failure were examined. The results of this model test showed that slope failure has four distinct stages:(1) soil compaction stage,(2) crack generation stage,(3) crack propagation stage, and(4) sliding plane transfixion stage. According to the test results, the rock mechanics parameters of weak surface in the footwall slope of Nanfen open-pit mine were calculated.The cohesion is approximately 1.35×10~5 Pa, and the internal friction angle is approximately 6.33°.During slope failure, the NPR anchor cable experiences a large deformation but no damage occurs, indicating that the NPR anchor cable can be continuously monitored and reinforced during the deformation and failure of landslide. 9Tissue-resident natural killer cells in the livers显示文摘Nature killer(NK) cells are important lymphocytes of the innate immune system,well known for their pivotal roles in immune surveillance and defense against tumor and virus-infected cells.Current studies have revealed that NK cells are not a homogeneous population,but instead consist of distinct subsets with diverse characteristics.As an organ with predominant innate immunity,the liver is enriched with NK cells,among which two distinct NK cell subsets have recently been identified:conventional NK(cNK)cells and tissue-resident NK(trNK) cells.Liver trNK cells are markedly different from cNK cells in many aspects,representing a new lineage of innate lymphoid cell(ILC) family.Here,we summarize the phenotypic and functional features of liver trNK cells,and review current knowledge regarding developmental pathway of liver trNK cells.We also overview recent advances in human liver trNK cells and discuss the striking shared hallmarks of trNK cells in different tissues.Hui Peng Zhigang Tian 2016Science China(Life Sciences)2016,59,12:8
10NK cells in liver homeostasis and viral hepatitis显示文摘As an important member of the innate immune system, natural killer(NK) cells are well known for their rapid and efficient immune responses against infectious agents and tumors. NK cells are widely distributed throughout the body and are particularly enriched within the liver, where they display unique phenotypic and functional properties, playing important roles in various liver diseases. Herein, we present an overview of liver NK cell properties with regard to phenotype, function, and subset composition at steady state, and we also summarize the complex reciprocal interactions between liver NK cells and other cell types within the local environment of the liver. 11Under the surface:Pressure-induced planetary-scale waves,volcanic lightning,and gaseous clouds caused by the submarine eruption of Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano显示文摘We present a narrative of the eruptive events culminating in the cataclysmic January 15, 2022 eruption of Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai Volcano by synthesizing diverse preliminary seismic, volcanological, sound wave, and lightning data available within the first few weeks after the eruption occurred. The first hour of eruptive activity produced fast-propagating tsunami waves, long-period seismic waves, loud audible sound waves, infrasonic waves, exceptionally intense volcanic lightning and an unsteady volcanic plume that transiently reached-at 58km-the Earth’s mesosphere. Energetic seismic signals were recorded worldwide and the globally stacked seismogram showed episodic seismic events within the most intense periods of phreatoplinian activity, and they correlated well with the infrasound pressure waveform recorded in Fiji. Gravity wave signals were strong enough to be observed over the entire planet in just the first few hours, with some circling the Earth multiple times subsequently. These large-amplitude, long-wavelength atmospheric disturbances come from the Earth’s atmosphere being forced by the magmatic mixture of tephra, melt and gasses emitted by the unsteady but quasicontinuous eruption from 0402±1–1800 UTC on January 15, 2022. Atmospheric forcing lasted much longer than rupturing from large earthquakes recorded on modern instruments, producing a type of shock wave that originated from the interaction between compressed air and ambient(wavy) sea surface. This scenario differs from conventional ideas of earthquake slip, landslides, or caldera collapse-generated tsunami waves because of the enormous(~1000x) volumetric change due to the supercritical nature of volatiles associated with the hot,volatile-rich phreatoplinian plume. The time series of plume altitude can be translated to volumetric discharge and mass flow rate. For an eruption duration of ~12 h, the eruptive volume and mass are estimated at 1.9 km^(3) and~2 900 Tg, respectively, corresponding to a VEI of 5–6 for this event. The high frequency and intensity of lightning was enhanced by the production of fine ash due to magma-seawater interaction with concomitant high charge per unit mass and the high pre-eruptive concentration of dissolved volatiles. Analysis of lightning flash frequencies provides a rapid metric for plume activity and eruption magnitude. Many aspects of this eruption await further investigation by multidisciplinary teams. 13Promoting-mode free formalism for excited state radiationless decay process with Duschinsky rotation effect显示文摘In the present work, through the path integral of Gaussian type correlation function, a new formalism based on Fermi-Golden Rule for calculating the rate constant of nonradiative decay process with Duschinsky rotation effect in polyatomic molecules is developed. The advantage of the present path-integral formalism is promoting-mode free. In order to get the rate constant, a 'transition rate matrix' needs to be calculated. The rate constant calculated previously is only an approximation of diagonal elements of our 'transition rate matrix ' . 15One century record of contamination by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyls in core sediments from the southern Yellow Sea显示文摘Sixteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and 28 polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) were measured at a 2-cm interval in a core sample from the middle of the southern Yellow Sea for elucidating their historical variations in inflow and sources. The chronology was obtained using the 210Pb method. PAHs concentrations decreased generally with depth and two climax values occurred in 14–16 cm and 20–22 cm layers, demonstrating that the production and usage of PAHs might reach peaks in the periods of 1956–1962 and 1938–1944. The booming economy and the navy battles of the Second World War might explain why the higher levels were detected in the two layers. The result of principal component analysis (PCA) revealed that PAHs were primarily owing to the combustion product. Down-cored variation of PCB concentrations was complex. Higher concentrations besides the two peaks being the same as PAHs were detected from 4 to 8 cm, depositing from 1980 to 1992, which probably resulted from the disposal of the out-dated PCB-containing equipment. The average Cl percentage of PCBs detected was similar to that of the mixture of Aroclor 1254 and 1242, suggesting they might origin from the dielectrical and heat-transfer fluid. 17Orthogonal design for optimization of pigment extraction from surface sediments of the Changjiang River Estuary显示文摘Using a suitable solvent for extracting pigments from sediment for high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) analysis is critical for obtaining qualitative and quantitative estimates of phytoplanktonic and benthic algal biomass,as well as community composition. Five methodological factors(sample dehydration,extraction solvent,extraction duration,number of extractions,and ratio of solvent volume:sample weight) were studied using an L 9(3 4 ) orthogonal design in a sedimentary pigment extraction experiment on samples collected from the Changjiang large-river delta-front estuary(LDE),using HPLC analysis. The results show that the optimal extraction method for sedimentary pigments should include freeze-drying samples prior to extraction. The effects of different factors on sedimentary pigment extraction were separated by the L 9(3 4 ) orthogonal design experiments and showed that the extraction solvent was the most important,with extraction duration the second most important,and numbers of extraction and ratio of solvent volume:sample weight was the least important. The mixed solvent treatment comprised of acetone,methanol and water(80:15:5,by volume) was best for polar pigment extraction,with 100% acetone better for apolar pigments. For most pigments employed in this study(i.e.,peridinin,fucoxanthin,alloxanthin,diatoxanthin,zeaxanthin,pheophytin-a and β-carotene) ,3 h was found to be enough time for extraction from these deltaic sediments. However,for chlorophyll-a,the most important pigment used for estimating algal biomass,12 h was needed. A small amount of solvent(3 ml) with duplicate extractions obtained the greatest amount and diversity of pigments. Unfortunately,no extraction method was found to be suitable for all pigments in sediments. 18Innate lymphoid cell memory显示文摘Innate lymphoid cells(ILCs),including natural killer(NK)cells,ILC1s,ILC2s,ILC3s,and lymphoid tissue inducer(LTi)cells,comprise the first line of innate immune defense against pathogens and tumors.Over the past decade,accumulating evidence has demonstrated immunological memory in ILC subsets:for example,NK cells recall haptens,viruses,and cytokines;ILC1s recall haptens;and ILC2s recall cytokines.Although the development and functions of ILCs mirror those of T-cell subsets,ILC and T-cell memory exhibit both common characteristics and specific properties.Encouragingly,ILC memory has been found to confer benefits in long-term tumor control and vaccination,providing insight for novel memory ILC-based tumor immunotherapy and vaccine-development strategies.In this review,we discuss the evidence supporting ILC memory and present a comprehensive framework of the ILC memory system.Xianwei Wang Hui Peng Zhigang Tian 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,5:5
19The alteration in the architecture of a T-DNA insertion rice mutant osmtd1 is caused by up-regulation of Micro RNA156f显示文摘Plant architecture is an important factor for crop production. Some members of micro RNA156(mi R156) and their target genes SQUAMOSA Promoter-Binding Protein-Like(SPL) were identi fi ed to play essential roles in the establishment of plant architecture. However, the roles and regulation of mi R156 is not well understood yet. Here, we identi fi ed a T-DNA insertion mutant Osmtd1(Oryza sativa multi-tillering and dwarf mutant). Osmtd1 produced more tillers and displayed short stature phenotype. We determined that the dramatic morphological changes were caused by a single T-DNA insertion in Osmtd1. Further analysis revealed that the T-DNA insertion was located in the gene Os08g34258 encoding a putative inhibitor I family protein. Os08g34258 was knocked out and Osmi R156 f was signi fi cantly upregulated in Osmtd1. Overexpression of Os08g34258 in Osmtd1 complemented the defects of the mutant architecture, while overexpression of Osmi R156 f in wild-type rice phenocopied Osmtd1. We showed that the expression of Os SPL3, Os SPL12,and Os SPL14 were signi fi cantly downregulated in Osmtd1 or Osmi R156 f overexpressed lines, indicating that Os SPL3,Os SPL12, and Os SPL14 were possibly direct target genes of Osmi R156 f. 20The Electronic Transport Channel Protection and Tuning in Real Space to Boost the Thermoelectric Performance of Mg_(3+δ)Sb_(2-y)Bi_(y) near Room Temperature显示文摘The optimization of thermoelectric materials involves the decoupling of the transport of electrons and phonons.In this work,an increased Mg_(1)-Mg_(2) distance,together with the carrier conduction network protection,has been shown as an effective strategy to increase the weighted mobility(U=μm∗3/2)and hence thermoelectric power factor of Mg_(3+δ)Sb_(2-y)Bi_(y) family near room temperature.Mg_(3+δ)Sb_(0.5)Bi_(1.5) has a high carrier mobility of 247 cm^(2)V^(-1) s^(-1) and a record power factor of 3470μWm^(-1) K^(-2) at room temperature.Considering both efficiency and power density,Mg_(3+δ)Sb_(1.0)Bi_(1.0) with a high average ZT of 1.13 and an average power factor of 3184μWm^(-1) K^(-2) in the temperature range of 50-250℃ would be a strong candidate to replace the conventional n-type thermoelectric material Bi_(2)Te_(2.7)Se_(0.3).The protection of the transport channel through Mg sublattice means alloying on Sb sublattice has little effect on electron while it significantly reduces phonon thermal conductivity,providing us an approach to decouple electron and phonon transport for better thermoelectric materials.Zhijia Han Zhigang Gui Y.BZhu Peng Qin Bo-Ping Zhang Wenqing Zhang Li Huang Weishu Liu 2020Research2020,,1:5
