2Spatio-temporal variation of landfill gas in pilot-scale semi-aerobic and anaerobic landfills over 5 years显示文摘Variation of CH_4, CO_2, and O_2 concentrations in layers of different depths in semi-aerobic and anaerobic landfills was analyzed over a period of 5 years. The results showed that most of the municipal solid waste became basically stable after 5 years of landfill disposal. In the upper and middle layer, the concentration of CH_4 in the semi-aerobic landfill was significantly lower than that in the anaerobic landfill in different landfill periods, while in the lower layer, there was little difference in the CH_4 concentration between the semi-aerobic and anaerobic landfills. The average concentration of CH_4 and CO_2in the anaerobic landfill was always higher than that in the semi-aerobic landfill, while the O_2 concentration showed an opposite variation in different landfill periods. 5Seasonal metal fluxes derived by the interaction of surface water and groundwater in an aquaculture estuary显示文摘Submarine groundwater discharge(SGD)plays a major role as a conveyor of metals to coastal waters.However,the seasonal change of metal fluxes derived through SGD is unclear.Here,we evaluated the behaviours and fluxes of trace metals(Mn,Fe,Ba,Pb,U,Cr,Zn,Cu)in an estuary under different seasonal conditions.The behaviours of trace metals revealed that SGD was the source of Mn(3.51 mmol/(m^(2)·d)),Fe(0.174 mmol/(m^(2)·d))and Ba(0.024 mmol/(m^(2)·d)),but the Cu sink(−0.55μmol/(m^(2)·d))and other metals exhibited a seasonal source‒sink conversion.The seasonal variation of dissolved organic matter and the fresh groundwater proportion in subterranean estuaries may have an important effect on metals fluxes especially for the Fe,Mn and Ba.Our result shows that the single seasonal metal fluxes estimation applied to the annual scale will cause a large deviation,up to 3.6 times for Fe,5.5 times for Mn,and 15 times for Ba.Therefore,the influence of seasonal fluctuations on SGDderived metal fluxes cannot be ignored,and our findings will be important for comprehending the metal budget and cycle in nearshore environment.Xiaoxiong Wang Jordi Garcia-Orellana Xiaogang Chen Jianan Liu Fenfen Zhang Jianguo Qu Zhuoyi Zhu Jinzhou Du 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,8:0
6Economical generation of high-quality optical vortices with gradual-width Fermat spiral slit mask显示文摘A general model for creating an optical vortex using a variable-width Fermat spiral slit(FSS)mask was developed.The generated optical vortex demonstrates much better quality than those produced by slits with a uniform width.The depth of focus was nearly doubled,which can be explained by discretizing the gradual-width FSS.To demonstrate the generation robustness,the slits were printed on a transparent slide,and an output vortex beam with greater than 98%intensity purity was obtained.With the high quality and simplicity of this vortex generation method,its analysis and generation scheme are expected to be extended to generation of plasmonic vortices and short-wavelength light sources such as X-rays and electron beams.Generation of highquality optical vortex beams at an almost negligible cost will make investigation much more accessible.Qi Huang Xingyuan Lu Hao Zhang Zhuoyi Wang Yuanjie Yang Qiwen Zhan Yangjian Cai ChengLiang Zhao 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,4:0
7Using triple oxygen isotopes and oxygen-argon ratio to quantify ecosystem production in the mixed layer of northern South China Sea slope region显示文摘Quantifying the gross and net production is an essential component of carbon cycling and marine ecosystem studies.Triple oxygen isotope measurements and the O_(2)/Ar ratio are powerful indices in quantifying the gross primary production and net community production of the mixed layer zone,respectively.Although there is a substantial advantage in refining the gas exchange term and water column vertical mixing calibration,application of mixed layer depth history to the gas exchange term and its contribution to reducing indices error are unclear.Therefore,two cruises were conducted in the slope regions of the northern South China Sea in October 2014(autumn)and June 2015(spring).Discrete water samples at Station L07 in the upper 150 m depth were collected for the determination ofδ^(17)0,δ^(18)O,and the O_(2)/Ar ratio of dissolved gases.Gross oxygen production(GOP)was estimated using the triple oxygen isotopes of the dissolved O_(2),and net oxygen production(NOP)was calculated using O_(2)/Ar ratio and O_(2)concentration.The vertical mixing effect in NOP was calibrated via a N_(2)O based approach.GOP for autumn and spring was(169±23)mmol/(m^(2)·d)(by O_(2))and(189±26)mmol/(m^(2)·d)(by O_(2)),respectively.While NOP was 1.5 mmol/(m^(2)·d)(by O_(2))in autumn and 8.2 mmol/(m^(2)·d)(by O_(2))in spring.Application of mixed layer depth history in the gas flux parametrization reduced up to 9.5%error in the GOP and NOP estimations.A comparison with an independent O_(2)budget calculation in the diel observation indicated a26%overestimation in the current GOP,likely due to the vertical mixing effect.Both GOP and NOP in June were higher than those in October.Potential explanations for this include the occurrence of an eddy process in June,which may have exerted a submesoscale upwelling at the sampling station,and also the markedly higher terrestrial impact in June.Zhuoyi Zhu Jun Wang Guiling Zhang Sumei Liu Shan Zheng Xiaoxia Sun Dongfeng Xu Meng Zhou 2021Acta Oceanologica Sinica2021,40,6:0
8Coherence phase spectrum analyzer for a randomly fluctuated fractional vortex beam显示文摘Fractional vortex beams exhibit a higher degree of modulation dimensions than conventional vortices,thus inheriting superior anti-turbulent transmission properties through the incorporation of additional coherence modulation.However,aliasing the mixed modes induced by coherence degradation makes the quantitative measurement of the topological charge in fractional vortex beams challenging.In this study,a coherence phase spectrum was introduced,and experimental demonstrations to quantitatively determine the fractional topological charge of partially coherent fractional vortex beams were performed.By leveraging the four-dimensional measurement of a partially coherent light field,the source coherence function was inversely reconstructed,and fractional topological charges were determined with high precision by extracting the phase spectrum of the coherence function.Laguerre–Gaussian,elliptical Gaussian,and plane-wave-fraction vortex beams with various degrees of coherence were used to demonstrate measurement precision.The proposed method is applicable to X-rays and electron vortices.It has potential applications in optical encryption,high-capacity optical communication,and quantum entanglement.ZHUOYI WANG XINGYUAN LU JIANBO GAO XUECHUN ZHAO QIWEN ZHAN YANGJIAN CAI CHENGLIANG ZHAO 2024Photonics Research2024,12,1:0
