1The signal pathways and treatment of cytokine storm in COVID-19显示文摘The Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has become a global crisis and is more devastating than any other previous infectious disease.It has affected a significant proportion of the global population both physically and mentally,and destroyed businesses and societies.Current evidence suggested that immunopathology may be responsible for COVID-19 pathogenesis,including lymphopenia,neutrophilia,dysregulation of monocytes and macrophages,reduced or delayed type I interferon(IFN-I)response,antibody-dependent enhancement,and especially,cytokine storm(CS).The CS is characterized by hyperproduction of an array of pro-inflammatory cytokines and is closely associated with poor prognosis.These excessively secreted pro-inflammatory cytokines initiate different inflammatory signaling pathways via their receptors on immune and tissue cells,resulting in complicated medical symptoms including fever,capillary leak syndrome,disseminated intravascular coagulation,acute respiratory distress syndrome,and multiorgan failure,ultimately leading to death in the most severe cases.Therefore,it is clinically important to understand the initiation and signaling pathways of CS to develop more effective treatment strategies for COVID-19.Herein,we discuss the latest developments in the immunopathological characteristics of COVID-19 and focus on CS including the current research status of the different cytokines involved.We also discuss the induction,function,downstream signaling,and existing and potential interventions for targeting these cytokines or related signal pathways.We believe that a comprehensive understanding of CS in COVID-19 will help to develop better strategies to effectively control immunopathology in this disease and other infectious and inflammatory diseases.Lan Yang Xueru Xie Zikun Tu Jinrong Fu Damo Xu Yufeng Zhou 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,8:7
2EjBZR1 represses fruit enlargement by binding to the EjCYP90 promoter in loquat显示文摘Loquat(Eriobotrya japonica)is a subtropical tree that bears fruit that ripens during late spring.Fruit size is one of the dominant factors inhibiting the large-scale production of this fruit crop.To date,little is known about fruit size regulation.In this study,we first discovered that cell size is more important to fruit size than cell number in loquat and that the expression of the EjBZR1 gene is negatively correlated with cell and fruit size.Virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS)of EjBZR1 led to larger cells and fruits in loquat,while its overexpression reduced cell and plant size in Arabidopsis.Moreover,both the suppression and overexpression of EjBZR1 inhibited the expression of brassinosteroid(BR)biosynthesis genes,especially that of EjCYP90A.Further experiments indicated that EjCYP90A,a cytochrome P450 gene,is a fruit growth activator,while EjBZR1 binds to the BRRE(CGTGTG)motif of the EjCYP90A promoter to repress its expression and fruit cell enlargement.Overall,our results demonstrate a possible pathway by which EjBZR1 directly targets EjCYP90A and thereby affects BR biosynthesis,which influences cell expansion and,consequently,fruit size.These findings help to elucidate the molecular functions of BZR1 in fruit growth and thus highlight a useful genetic improvement that can lead to increased crop yields by repressing gene expression.Wenbing Su Zikun Shao Man Wang Xiaoqing Gan Xianghui Yang Shunquan Lin 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:2
3Helicopter maritime search area planning based on a minimum bounding rectangle and K-means clustering显示文摘Helicopters are widely used in maritime Search and Rescue(SAR) missions. To ensure the success of SAR missions, search areas need to be carefully planned. With the development of computer technology and weather forecast technology, the survivors’ drift trajectories can be predicted more precisely, which strongly supports the planning of search areas for the rescue helicopter. However, the methods used to determine the search area based on the predicted drift trajectories are mainly derived from the continuous expansion of the area with the highest Probability of Containment(POC), which may lead to local optimal solutions and a decrease in the Probability of Success(POS), especially when there are several subareas with a high POC. To address this problem, this paper proposes a method based on a Minimum Bounding Rectangle and Kmeans clustering(MBRK). A silhouette coefficient is adopted to analyze the distribution of the survivors’ probable locations, which are divided into multiple clusters with K-means clustering. Then,probability maps are generated based on the minimum bounding rectangle of each cluster. By adding or subtracting one row or column of cells or shifting the planned search area, 12 search methods are used to generate the optimal search area starting from the cell with the highest POC in each probability map. 4Efficient Routing Protection Algorithm Based on Optimized Network Topology显示文摘Network failures are unavoidable and occur frequently.When the network fails,intra-domain routing protocols deploying on the Internet need to undergo a long convergence process.During this period,a large number of messages are discarded,which results in a decline in the user experience and severely affects the quality of service of Internet Service Providers(ISP).Therefore,improving the availability of intra-domain routing is a trending research question to be solved.Industry usually employs routing protection algorithms to improve intra-domain routing availability.However,existing routing protection schemes compute as many backup paths as possible to reduce message loss due to network failures,which increases the cost of the network and impedes the methods deployed in practice.To address the issues,this study proposes an efficient routing protection algorithm based on optimized network topology(ERPBONT).ERPBONT adopts the optimized network topology to calculate a backup path with the minimum path coincidence degree with the shortest path for all source purposes.Firstly,the backup path with the minimum path coincidence with the shortest path is described as an integer programming problem.Then the simulated annealing algorithm ERPBONT is used to find the optimal solution.Finally,the algorithm is tested on the simulated topology and the real topology.The experimental results show that ERPBONT effectively reduces the path coincidence between the shortest path and the backup path,and significantly improves the routing availability.Haijun Geng Zikun Jin Jiangyuan Yao Han Zhang Zhiguo Hu Bo Yang Yingije Guo Wei Wang Qidong Zhang Guoao Duan 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,9:0

6Comparative transcriptome analysis between rhesus macaques(Macaca mulatta) and crab-eating macaques(M. fascicularis)显示文摘Understanding gene expression variations between species is pivotal for deciphering the evolutionary diversity in phenotypes. Rhesus macaques(Macaca mulatta, MMU)and crab-eating macaques(M. fascicularis, MFA) serve as crucial nonhuman primate biomedical models with different phenotypes. To date, however, large-scale comparative transcriptome research between these two species has not yet been fully explored. Here, we conducted systematic comparisons utilizing newly sequenced RNA-seq data from84 samples(41 MFA samples and 43 MMU samples)encompassing 14 common tissues. Our findings revealed a small fraction of genes(3.7%) with differential expression between the two species, as well as 36.5% of genes with tissue-specific expression in both macaques. Comparison of gene expression between macaques and humans indicated that 22.6% of orthologous genes displayed differential expression in at least two tissues. Moreover,19.41% of genes that overlapped with macaque-specific structural variants showed differential expression between humans and macaques. Of these, the FAM220A gene exhibited elevated expression in humans compared to macaques due to lineage-specific duplication. In summary,this study presents a large-scale transcriptomic comparison between MMU and MFA and between macaques and humans. 8Mechanical characterization of a 10-MJ HTS SMES magnet wound by quasiisotropic strands and directly stacked tape conductors显示文摘A 10‐MJ‐class superconducting magnetic energy storage(SMES)magnet is designed and optimized in this study using quasi‐isotropic strands and stacked‐tape conductors.In order to ensure the stable operation of SMES systems,it is necessary to evaluate the mechanical properties risk caused by the Lorentz force.Therefore,in this study,the magnetic stress caused by the Lorentz force is analyzed using the finite element method.The results show that the tapes near the inner diameter of the magnet are subjected to a higher stress and require considerable support.Although the maximum stress is increased by two times due to the presence of the screening current,it is within the safety range.The screening current does not vanish after the discharge process.After discharge,the coil is still subjected to a stress on the other of a few MPa.ZiKun Zhao Yinshun Wang Yubo Gao Zhao Yang ZhuYong Li Wei Pi 2023Superconductivity2023,,1:0
9Evaluation method for helicopter maritime search and rescue response plan with uncertainty显示文摘Helicopter plays an increasingly significant role in Maritime Search and Rescue(MSAR),and it will perform MSAR mission based on response plans when an accident occurs.Thus the rationality of response plan determines the success of MSAR mission to a large extent.However,with the impact of many uncertainty factors,it is difficult to evaluate response plans comprehensively before performing them.Aiming at these problems,an evaluation framework of helicopter MSAR response plan named UMAD is proposed in this paper,which reveals the influence mechanism of uncertainty factors based on Multi-Agent method and analyzes the mission flow based on Discrete Event System(DEVS)method.Furthermore,the evaluation criterion and indicators of response plan are extracted from the aspects of safety and effectiveness.Meanwhile,the Monte Carlo method is adapted to calculate the probability distribution and robustness of response plan comprehensive result.Finally,in order to illustrate the validity of this method,it is discussed and verified by an application example of evaluating multiple response plans to the same MSAR scenario.The results show that this method can analyze the influence of uncertainty more systematically and optimize response plans more comprehensively.Hu LIU Zikun CHEN Yongliang TIAN Bin WANG Hao YANG Guanghui WU 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,4:0
10Preliminary study on Late Triassic to Early Jurassic strata and floral variation in Hechuan region of Chongqing,southern Sichuan Basin显示文摘The end-Triassic mass extinction event is extensively known, however, the terrestrial response of this event is still poorly understood. Here we briefly report our preliminary results on the variation of floral diversity through the Triassic/Jurassic boundary deposits in the Tanba section of Hechuan region, Chongqing, southern China. It is recognized that the floral biodiversity of the Hechuan region shows a distinct change through the Triassic and Jurassic transition; and the floral diversity loss reaches up to 92.5% at species level. Meanwhile, in northeastern region of the Sichuan Basin, the floral diversity declines by about 50% across the T/J boundary at species level with a remarkable turnover of genera and species.
