1Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric cancer with peritoneal metastasis:A multicenter propensity scorematched cohort study显示文摘Objective:Systemic chemotherapy has limited efficacy in the treatment of peritoneal metastasis(PM)in gastric cancer(GC).Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC)combined with complete cytoreductive surgery(CRS)has shown promising outcomes but remains controversial.The present study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of HIPEC without CRS in GC patients with PM.Methods:This retrospective propensity score-matched multicenter cohort study included GC patients with PM treated with either chemotherapy alone(Cx group)or with HIPEC combined with chemotherapy(HIPEC-Cx group)in four Chinese high-volume gastric medical centers between 2010 and 2017.The primary outcomes were median survival time(MST)and 3-year overall survival(OS).Propensity score matching was performed to compensate for controlling potential confounding effects and selection bias.Results:Of 663 eligible patients,498 were matched.The MST in the Cx and HIPEC-Cx groups was 10.8 and 15.9 months,respectively[hazard ratio(HR)=0.71,95%confidence interval(95%CI),0.58-0.88;P=0.002].The 3-year OS rate was 10.1%(95%CI,5.4%-14.8%)and 18.4%(95%CI,12.3%-24.5%)in the Cx and HIPEC-Cx groups,respectively(P=0.017).The complication rates were comparable.The time to first flatus and length of hospital stay for patients undergoing HIPEC combined with chemotherapy was longer than that of chemotherapy alone(4.6±2.4 d vs.2.7±1.8 d,P<0.001;14.2±5.8 d vs.11.4±7.7 d,P<0.001),respectively.The median follow-up period was 33.2 months.Conclusions:Compared with standard systemic chemotherapy,HIPEC combined with chemotherapy revealed a statistically significant survival benefit for GC patients with PM,without compromising patient safety.Ziying Lei Jiahong Wang Zhi Li Baozhong Li Jiali Luo Xuejun Wang Jin Wang MingchenBa Hongsheng Tang Qingjun He Quanxing Liao Xiansheng Yang Tianpei Guan Han Liang Shuzhong Cui 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,6:11
2Association between the nasopharyngeal microbiome and metabolome in patients with COVID-19显示文摘SARS-CoV-2,the causative agent for COVID-19,infect human mainly via respiratory tract,which is heavily inhabited by local microbiota.However,the interaction between SARS-CoV-2 and nasopharyngeal microbiota,and the association with metabolome has not been well characterized.Here,metabolomic analysis of blood,urine,and nasopharyngeal swabs from a group of COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients,and metagenomic analysis of pharyngeal samples were used to identify the key features of COVID-19.Results showed lactic acid,L-proline,and chlorogenic acid methyl ester(CME)were significantly reduced in the sera of COVID-19 patients compared with non-COVID-19 ones.Nasopharyngeal commensal bacteria including Gemella morbillorum,Gemella haemolysans and Leptotrichia hofstadii were notably depleted in the pharynges of COVID-19 patients,while Prevotella histicola,Streptococcus sanguinis,and Veillonella dispar were relatively increased.The abundance of G.haemolysans and L.hofstadii were significantly positively associated with serum CME,which might be an anti-SARS-CoV-2 bacterial metabolite.This study provides important information to explore the linkage between nasopharyngeal microbiota and disease susceptibility.The findings were based on a very limited number of patients enrolled in this study;a larger size of cohort will be appreciated for further investigation.Jing Liu Sheng Liu Zhao Zhang Xuejun Lee Wenxuan Wu Zhanlian Huang Ziying Lei Wenxiong Xu Dabiao Chen Xing Wu Yang Guo Liang Peng Bingliang Lin Yutian Chong Xiangyu Mou Mang Shi Ping Lan Tao Chen Wenjing Zhao Zhiliang Gao 2021Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2021,6,3:0
3Solution to the quadratic assignment problem usingsemi-Lagrangian relaxation显示文摘The semi-Lagrangian relaxation(SLR), a new exact method for combinatorial optimization problems with equality constraints, is applied to the quadratic assignment problem(QAP).A dual ascent algorithm with finite convergence is developed for solving the semi-Lagrangian dual problem associated to the QAP.We perform computational experiments on 30 moderately difficult QAP instances by using the mixed integer programming solvers,Cplex, and SLR+Cplex, respectively. 4Dual Effects of Interfacial Interaction and Geometric Constraints on Structural Formation of Poly(butylene terephthalate)Nanorods显示文摘When the size of the material is smaller than the size of the molecular chain,new nanostructures can be formed by crystallizing polymers in nanoporous alumina.However,the effect of pore wall and geometric constraints on polymer nanostructures remains unclear.In this study,we demonstrate three new restricted nanostructures{upright-,flat-and tilting-ring}in polybutylene terephthalate(PBT)nanorods prepared from nanoporous alumina.The dual effects of geometrical constraints and interfacial interactions on the formation of PBT nanostructures were investigated for the first time by using X-ray diffraction and Cerius^(2) modeling packages.Under weak constraints,the interaction between pore wall and the PBT rings is dominant and the ring plane tends to be parallel to the pore wall and radiate outward to grow the upright-ring crystals.Surprisingly,in strong 2D confinement,a structural formation reversal occurs and geometrical constraints overpower the effect of pore wall.Rings tend to pile up vertically or obliquely along the long axis of the rod,so the flat-and tilting-ring crystals are predominate in the constrained system.In principle,our study of the nanostructure formation based on the geometrical constraints and the pore wall interfacial effects could provide a new route to manipulate the chain assembly at the nanoscale,further improving the performance of polymer nanomaterial.Kaichao Wang Ziwei Lai Jiaman Huang Haiying Li Ziying Liang Junhao Liang Xing Ouyang Xiaoguang Li Yan Cao 2022Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2022,40,6:0
