| 1 | Numerical modeling of the anomalous post-rift subsidence in the Baiyun Sag,Pearl River Mouth Basin显示文摘The Baiyun Sag is the deepest sag in the Pearl River Mouth Basin in northern continental margin of South China Sea,with the maximum sediment thickness over 12.5 km above the basement including >6.5 km sediments above the 30 Ma breakup unconformity.According to the theoretical models for the rifted basins,the post-rift subsidence is driven solely by the thermal contraction and can be calculated as the function of the lithospheric stretching factor.A method combining the forward modeling and reverse backstripping was designed to estimate lithospheric stretching factor.Using the 2D forward modeling based on the flexural cantilever model,we simulated the multi-rifting process of the Baiyun Sag with constrain of the backstripped profiles.By doing this the lithospheric stretching factor was obtained,and then the theoretical post-rift subsidence was calculated.The calculated theoretical subsidence was much smaller than the observed subsidence given by backstripping.Along the 1530 line in the Baiyun Sag,the anomalous post-rift subsidence is over 2 km in the sag center,and varies slightly to the north and south edges of the sag.This suggests that the anomalous post-rift subsidence continues beyond the sag both in the continental shelf to the north and in the continental slope to the south.The sensitivity tests in the forward modeling process indicate that only the use of low-angle faults (≤13°) can we simulate the shape of the backstripped profile. | LIAO Jie ZHOU Di ZHAO ZhongXian ZHANG YunFan XU ZiYing | 2011 | Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,8: | 14 |

| 5 | Long-term trends in fog and boundary layer characteristics in Tianjin,China显示文摘Long-term trends in fog episodes,vertical variations of atmospheric boundary structure,and air pollutant concentrations during two different heavy fog events in the Tianjin area were analyzed.The total amount of fog has increased since 1980 due to the stability of the boundary layer and an increase of pollutant emissions.The variation in the characteristics of the boundary layer and air pollutant concentrations were significantly different between the two fog processes(fog 1 and fog II).The onset of fog I was accompanied by a temperature inversion in the low atmosphere,and the average kinetic energy showed a clear diurnal trend and vertical variation,which increased with height.The dissipation of fog I was mainly due to turbulence.However,the atmospheric stratification was not stable in the lower layer before the onset of fog II.The diurnal and vertical changes in kinetic energy were very small,in which turbulent momentum at each measurement height tended to be zero.In the dissipation process of fog II,wind speed increased significantly.Surface PM_(2.)5 concentrations decreased,but the ratio of PM_(2.5) to PM_(10)increased from 0.66 to 0.82 until fog I dissipated.However,the concentration of PM2.5 did not decrease at the early stage of fog II,but the ratio of PM_(2.5) to PM_(10) PM_(2.5)/PM_(10) decreased to 0.21 when fog II dissipated.This study showed that there was a clear difference in the evolution of pollutant concentration for different pollutants and in different developing stages during the fog events.PM2.5 concentration accumulated faster than those of SO_2 and NO_x,and the PM_(2.5) cumulative rate was greater in the mid-term of the fog process. | Suqin Han Ziying Cai Yufen Zhang Jiao Wang Qing Yao Peiyan Li Xiangjin Li | 2015 | Particuology2015,13,3: | 7 |
| 6 | Effects of erythropoietin on the expression of tumor necrosis factor-alpha and Bax after facial nerve axotomy in rats显示文摘This study sought to evaluate the effect of high-dose erythropoietin (EPO;5 000 IU/kg) on the expression of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and Bax in the facial nucleus after facial nerve transection in rats.A total of 42 Wistar rats of both genders were used in this study,and 40 rats were randomly divided into 2 groups:EPO group and model group.The EPO group was treated with EPO once a day for 5 days at a dose of 5 000 IU/kg body weight.The model group was treated with saline of the same amount.At day 3 after EPO (or saline) treatment,the right facial nerves of the 40 rats were transected at the level of the stylomastoid foramen,with the left sides untreated.The remaining 2 rats that did not undergo axotomy served as the control group.The surviving motor neurons in operated rats were counted in coronal paraffin sections of the facial nucleus.The expression of TNF-α and Bax in the facial nucleus was detected by immunohistochemical staining at days 3,7,14,21,and 28 after axotomy.At days 14,21,and 28 after facial nerve axotomy,a significantly greater proportion of facial motor neurons survived in the EPO group than in the model group.After axotomy,the expression of TNF-α and Bax increased in motor neurons in both the EPO and the model groups.TNF-α expression reached its peak level at day 14 after axotomy,while Bax expression reached its peak level at day 21.TNF-α expression was much lower in the EPO group than in the model group at all time points.No significant difference in Bax expression was found between the EPO and the model groups.These results indicate that high-dose EPO treatment attenuates the increase in TNF-α expression in the facial nucleus and reduces the loss of motor neurons after facial nerve transection in rats.However,high-dose EPO treatment has little effect on Bax expression. | Wei Zhang Shengyu Lue Ziying Yu Ming Bi Bin Sun | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,6: | 6 |
| 7 | s-HBEGF/SIRT1 circuit-dictated crosstalk between vascular endothelial cells and keratinocytes mediates sorafenib-induced hand-foot skin reaction that can be reversed by nicotinamide显示文摘Hand-foot skin reaction(HFSR),among the most significant adverse effects of sorafenib,has been limiting the clinical benefits of this frontline drug in treating various malignant tumors.The mechanism underlying such toxicity remains poorly understood,hence the absence of effective intervention strategies.In the present study,we show that vascular endothelial cells are the primary cellular target of sorafenib-induced HFSR wherein soluble heparin-binding epidermal growth factor(s-HBEGF)mediates the crosstalk between vascular endothelial cells and keratinocytes.Mechanistically,s-HBEGF released from vascular endothelial cells activates the epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)on keratinocytes and promotes the phosphorylation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase 2(JNK2),which stabilizes sirtuin 1(SIRT1),an essential keratinization inducer,and ultimately gives rise to HFSR.The administration of s-HBEGF in vivo could sufficiently induce hyper-keratinization without sorafenib treatment.Furthermore,we report that HBEGF neutralization antibody,Sirtl knockdown,and a classic SIRTI inhibitor nicotinamide could all significantly reduce the sorafenib-induced HFSR in the mouse model.It is noteworthy that nicotinic acid,a prodrug of nicotinamide,could substantially reverse the sorafenib-induced HFSR in ten patients in a preliminary clinical study.Collectively,our findings reveal the mechanism of vascular endothelial cell-promoted keratinization in keratinocytes and provide a potentially promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of sorafenib-induced HFSR. | Peihua Luo Hao Yan Xueqin Chen Ying Zhang Ziying Zhao Ji Cao Yi Zhu Jiangxia Du Zhifei Xu Xiaochen Zhang Su Zeng Bo Yang Shenglin Ma Qiaojun He | 2020 | Cell Research2020,30,9: | 5 |
| 8 | A multi-institutional retrospective study of hyperthermic plus intravesical chemotherapy versus intravesical chemotherapy treatment alone in intermediate and high risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer显示文摘Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of hyperthermic intravesical chemotherapy(HIVEC)and intravesical chemotherapy(IVEC)in patients with intermediate and high risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC)after transurethral resection.Methods:We included 560 patients diagnosed with primary or recurrent NMIBC between April 2009 and December 2015 at 1 of 6 tertiary centers.We matched 364 intermediate or high risk cases and divided them into 2 groups:the HIVEC+IVEC group[chemohyperthermia(CHT)composed of 3 consecutive sessions followed by intravesical instillation without hyperthermia]and the IVEC group(intravesical instillation without hyperthermia).The data were recorded in the database.The primary endpoint was 2-year recurrence-free survival(RFS)in all NMIBC patients(n=364),whereas the secondary endpoints were the assessment of radical cystectomy(RC)and 5-year overall survival(OS).Results:There was a significant difference in the 2-year RFS between the two groups in all patients(n=364;HIVEC+IVEC:82.42%vs.IVEC:74.18%,P=0.038).Compared with the IVEC group,the HIVEC+IVEC group had a lower incidence of RC(P=0.0274).However,the 5-year OS was the same between the 2 groups(P=0.1434).Adverse events(AEs)occurred in 32.7%of all patients,but none of the events was serious(grades 3–4).No difference in the incidence or severity of AEs between each treatment modality was observed.Conclusions:This retrospective study showed that HIVEC+IVEC had a higher 2-year RFS and a lower incidence of RC than IVEC therapy in intermediate and high risk NMIBC patients.Both treatments were well-tolerated in a similar manner. | Qiang Ruan Degang Ding Bin Wang Chaohong He Xuequn Ren Zhenhua Feng Zhigang Pang Jin Wang Xiangliang Zhang Hongsheng Tang Jiahong Wang Qingjun He Ziying Lei Quanxing Liao Jiali Luo Shuzhong Cui | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1: | 4 |

| 11 | Genetic relationships among Chinese and American isolates of Phytophthora sojaeassessed by RAPD markers显示文摘The genetic diversity of three geo- graphic populations of Phytophthora sojae from China and the United States was determined using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD). The purpose was to explore genetic relationships among Chinese and American isolates of the organism. 21 random primers were selected among 200 random primers screened. A total of 223 reproducible RAPD fragments were scored among 111 individuals, of which 199 (89.23%) were polymorphic. Analysis of genetic variation showed that there existed higher genetic variation in the United States population in comparison to the Chinese populations. Nei’s genetic identity and principal component analysis indicated that the populations of Fujian and United States are closer to each other than to Heilongjiang populations. Shannon-Wiener diversity index revealed that the United States populations have a higher genetic di- versity than that of Chinese populations. | 17 | Some properties of field-aligned electron events in high-altitude polar regions显示文摘Using data from the Cluster spacecraft from January 2003 to December 2004, we perform a statistical study on some properties of the field-aligned electron(FAE) events and interplanetary magnetic field(IMF) By dependence of FAE events with different durations in high-altitude polar regions. A total of 1335 FAE events were observed by the C3 spacecraft. More down-flowing events were observed in the Southern Hemisphere, and more up-flowing events were observed in the Northern Hemisphere. It proves that down-flowing events mainly originate from magnetosphere or solar wind and up-flowing events are mainly derived from ionosphere. Short-lifetime events showed a morning concentration in the magnetic local time distribution, and long-lifetime events were concentrated both before and after noon. For the IMF By dependence of the FAE events, short-lifetime events were much affected by IMF By and resulted in a morning concentration, while the long-lifetime events were almost unaffected by IMF By.
