1Cycloastragenol upregulates SIRT1 expression,attenuates apoptosis and suppresses neuroinflammation after brain ischemia显示文摘Cycloastragenol(CAG)is the active form of astragaloside V isolated from Astragalus Radix,which displays multiple pharmacological effects.Silent information regulator 1(SIRT1),a classll histone deacetylase,has been shown to play an important role in neuroprotection against cerebral ischemia.In this study,we investigated whether CAG protected against ischemic brain injury and,if so,whether the beneficial effects were associated with the regulation of SIRT1 in the ischemic brain.Mice were subjected to 45 min of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)followed by reperfusion.CAG(5,10,20 mg/kg)was injected intraperitoneally at the onset of reperfusion,12h later and then twice daily for up to three days.CAG dose-dependently reduced brain infarct volume,significantly ameliorated functional deficits,and prevented neuronal cell oss in MCAO mice.Meanwhile,CAG signicantly reduced matrix metalloproteinase-9 activity,prevented tight junction degradation and subsequently ameliorated blood-brain barier disruption.Moreover,CAG significantly upregulated SIRT1 expression in the ischemic brain but did not directly activate its enzymatic activity.Concomitant with SIRT1 upregulation,CAG reduced p53 acetylation and the ratio of Bax to Bcl-2 in the ischemic brain.CAG also inhibited NF-κB p65 nuclear translocation.As a result,CAG suppressed the mRNA expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines,including TNF-α and IL-1β,and inhibited the activation of microglia and astrocytes in the ischemic brain.Our findings suggest that CAG is neuroprotective against ischemic brain injury in mice and that its beneficial effect may involve SIRT1 upregulation and the inhibition of apoptosis and neuroinflammation in the ischemic brain.Man Li Shichun Li Bao-kai Dou Yving-xiang Zou Hao-zhen Han Dong-xiang Liu Zunji Ke Zhi-fei Wang 2020Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,8:22
2A preliminary investigation on the occurrence and distribution of antibiotic resistance genes in the Beijiang River, South China显示文摘The occurrence of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) was investigated and quantified in 20 water samples collected in the Beijiang River, South China. Sulfonamide- and tetracycline-resistant bacteria were present in 17 and 14 of the collected 20 samples. For sulfonamide ARGs, sulI and sulII were frequently observed in the Beijiang River. The levels of sulI were higher than sulII (p < 0.05), with the mean values of (1.41 ± 1.12) × 10-2 and (1.58 ± 1.71) × 10-3 copies/16S rDNA, respectively. For tetracycline ARGs, tetG had the highest frequency, 100%, followed by tetA (85%), tetO (85%), tetC (70%), tetX (60%), tetM (40%) and tetQ (20%), while tetE and tetS were not detected in all the samples from the Beijiang River. On the other hand, tetC had the highest concentration, ranging from 8.30 × 10-2 to 13.20 copies/16S rDNA. The poor correlation between ARGs and antibiotic concentrations revealed that the self-amplification and persistence of ARGs were the reasons that made ARGs exist in the water environment even though the antibiotic selecting pressure was absent. 3Characterizing the antibiotic resistance genes in a river catchment: Influence of anthropogenic activities显示文摘Previous studies on environmental antibiotics resistance genes(ARGs) have focused on the pollution sources such as wastewater treatment plants, aquaculture and livestock farms,etc. Few of them had addressed this issue in a regional scale such as river catchment. Hence,the occurrence and abundances of 23 ARGs were investigated in surface water samples collected from 38 sites which located from the river source to estuary of the Beijiang River.Among them, 11 ARGs were frequently detected in this region and 5 ARGs(sul I, sul II, tet B,tet C, and tet W) were selected for their distribution pattern analysis. The abundances of the selected ARGs were higher in the upstream(8.70 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA) and downstream areas(3.17 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA) than those in the midstream areas(1.23 × 10~6 copies/ng DNA), which was positively correlated to the population density and number of pollution sources. Pollution sources of ARGs along the Beijiang River not only had a great impact on the abundances and diversity, but also on the distribution of specific ARGs in the water samples. Both sul I and sul II were likely originated from aquaculture farms and animal farms,tet W gene was possibly associated with the mining/metal melting industry and the electric waste disposal and tet C gene was commonly found in the area with multiple pollution sources.However, the abundance of tet B was not particularly related to anthropogenic impacts. 18Highly efficient and stable electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution by molybdenum doped Ni-Co phosphide nanoneedles at high current density显示文摘There is an increasingly urgent need to develop cost-effective electrocatalysts with high catalytic activity and stability as alternatives to the traditional Pt/C in catalysts in water electrolysis.In this study,microspheres composed of Mo-doped NiCoP nanoneedles supported on nickel foam were prepared to address this challenge.The results show that the nanoneedles provide sufficient active sites for efficient electron transfer;the small-sized effect and the micro-scale roughness enhance the entry of reactants and the release of hydrogen bubbles;the Mo doping effectively improves the electrocatalytic performance of NiCoP in alkaline media.The catalyst exhibits low hydrogen evolution overpotentials of 38.5 and 217.5 mV at a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2) and high current density of 500 mA·cm^(-2),respectively,and only 1.978 V is required to achieve a current density of 1000 mA·cm^(-2) for overall water splitting.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations show that the improved hydrogen evolution performance can be explained as a result of the Mo doping,which serves to reduce the interaction between NiCoP and intermediates,optimize the Gibbs free energy of hydrogen adsorption(△G_(*H)),and accelerate the desorption rate of *OH.This study provides a promising solution to the ongoing challenge of designing efficient electrocatalysts for high-current-density hydrogen production.Chengyu Huang Zhonghong Xia Jing Wang Jing Zhang Chenfei Zhao Xingli Zou Shichun Mu Jiujun Zhang Xionggang Lu Hong Jin Fan Shengjuan Huo Yufeng Zhao 2024Nano Research2024,17,3:0
19End-cloud collaboration method enables accurate state of health and remaining useful life online estimation in lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Though the lithium-ion battery is universally applied,the reliability of lithium-ion batteries remains a challenge due to various physicochemical reactions,electrode material degradation,and even thermal runaway.Accurate estimation and prediction of battery health conditions are crucial for battery safety management.In this paper,an end-cloud collaboration method is proposed to approach the track of battery degradation process,integrating end-side empirical model with cloud-side data-driven model.Based on ensemble learning methods,the data-driven model is constructed by three base models to obtain cloud-side highly accurate results.The double exponential decay model is utilized as an empirical model to output highly real-time prediction results.With Kalman filter,the prediction results of end-side empirical model can be periodically updated by highly accurate results of cloud-side data-driven model to obtain highly accurate and real-time results.Subsequently,the whole framework can give an accurate prediction and tracking of battery degradation,with the mean absolute error maintained below 2%.And the execution time on the end side can reach 261μs.The proposed end-cloud collaboration method has the potential to approach highly accurate and highly real-time estimation for battery health conditions during battery full life cycle in architecture of cyber hierarchy and interactional network.Bin Ma Lisheng Zhang Hanqing Yu Bosong Zou Wentao Wang Cheng Zhang Shichun Yang Xinhua Liu 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,7:0
