| 2 | Drug release property of a pH-responsive double-hydrophilic hyperbranched graft copolymer显示文摘In this paper, we report the synthesis and self-assembly of double-hydrophilic hyperbranched graft copolymers of HPG-g-PDMAEMA, which consist of a hyperbranched polyglycerol (HPG) core and several grafted poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) arms. HPG was synthesized by cationic polymerization. Then HPG-Br macroinitiator was obtained by esterification of HPG with 2-bromoisobutyryl bromide, which was subsequently used in the preparation of HPG-g-PDMAEMA graft copolymers through atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of DMAEMA monomers. The molecular structures were studied by 1H NMR and GPC. The pyrene-based fluorescent probe method, 1H NMR and DLS were used to study the self-assembly behavior of HPG-g-PDMAEMA. The drug loading and pH-responsive release properties of HPG-g-PDMAEMA were also investigated by using coumarin 102 as a model drug. | 3 | Composition and solution properties of fluorinated block copolymers and their surface structures in the solid state显示文摘A series of diblock copolymers composed of methyl methacrylate and 2-perfluorooctylethyl methacry-late(PMMA144-b-PFMAn) with various PFMA block lengths were prepared by atom transfer radical po-lymerization(ATRP).The surface structures and properties of these polymers in the solid state and in solution were investigated using contact angle measurement,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),sum frequency generation(SFG) vibrational spectroscopy,surface tension and dynamic laser light scattering(DLS).It was found that with increasing PFMA block length,water and oil repellency de-creased,the ratio of F/C increased with increasing film depth,and the degree of ordered packing of the perfluoroalkyl side chains at the surface decreased.When the number of PFMA block units reached 10,PMMA segments were detected at the copolymer surface,which was attributed to the PFMA block length affecting molecular aggregation structure of the copolymer in the solution and the interfacial structure at the air/liquid interface,which in turn affects surface structure formation during solution solidification.The results suggest that copolymer solution properties play an important role in struc-ture formation on the solid surface. | NI HuaGang XUE DongWu WANG XiaoFang ZHANG Wei WANG XinPing SHEN ZhiQuan | 2009 | Science China Chemistry2009,52,2: | 6 |

SYNTHESIS OF POLY(ETHYLENEGLYCOL MONOMETHYLLTHER ) METHACRYLATE AND ANTITHROMBOGENICITY OF ITS COPOLYMERS显示文摘Poly (ethyleneglycol monomethylether) methacrylate (PEGMM)was synthesized by means of the reaction of methacrylyl chloride with sodium monomethylpolyethyleneglycoxide and was characterized by FTIR, ~1H-NMR,and ultraviolet spectrometries. A series of poly (vinyl alcohol)-graft-PEGMM (PVA-g-PEGMM )and methyl methacrylate-PEGMM copolymer (PMMA-PEGMM) were prepared and tested for antithrombogenicity in vitro. The results indicate that the antithrombogenicity of the copolymers basically increases with the increasing of the DP of polyoxyethylene (POE) chain and tends to a plateau after the DP around 114,i.e. the long chain structure of POE is favourable to the antithrombogenicityof its copolymers ;moreover, the extent of the improvement ofantithrombogenicity also relates to the PEGMM content of the copolymers and the kind of the matrix that the POE chains are located on. | 5 | Supramolecular self-assembly and controllable drug release of thermosensitive hyperbranched multiarm copolymers显示文摘A novel temperature-responsive hyperbranched multiarm copolymer with a hydrophobic hyperbranched poly(3-ethyl-3-(hydroxymethyl)oxetane)(HBPO) core and thermosensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM) arms was synthesized via the atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) of NIPAM monomers from a hyperbranched HBPO macroinitiator.It was found that HBPO-star-PNIPAM self-assembled into multimolecular micelles(around 60 nm) in water at room temperature according to pyrene probe fluorescence spectrometry,1H NMR,TEM,and DLS measurements.The micelle solution showed a reversible thermosensitive phase transition at a lower critical solution temperature(LCST)(around 32°C) observed by variable temperature optical absorbance measurements.Variable temperature NMR and DLS analyses demonstrated that the LCST transition originated from the secondary aggregation of the micelles driven by increasing hydrophobic interaction due to the dehydration of PNIPAM shells upon heating.The drug loading and release properties of HBPO-star-PNIPAM micelles were also investigated using prednisone acetate as a model drug.The micelles showed a much improved drug encapsulation efficiency and temperature-dependent sustainable release behavior due to the special micellar structure.The micelles exhibited no apparent cytotoxicity against human HeLa cells. | GUO Bo,SUN XiaoYi,ZHOU YongFeng & YAN DeYue College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering,Shanghai Jiao Tong University,Shanghai 200240,China | 2010 | Science China Chemistry2010,53,3: | 5 |

External quantum efficiency (QE) of the diode fabricated from the copolymer with 15% DBT content reaches 1.4% (ph/el), over 1.0 cd/A in luminance efficiency at the driving voltage of 4.2 V. The highest luminance can reach 3780 cd/m2 at 8.2 V. | 7 | SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF AMPHIPHILIC GRAFT COPOLYMER CONTAINING MICROPHASE SEPARATED AND LONG POLY(ETHYLENE OXIDE) SIDE CHAIN STRUCTURES显示文摘Acryloyl terminated Poly (ethyleneoxide)macromonomers (PEO-A) with different PEO chain lengths have been prepared by deactivation of PEO alkoxide with acryloyl chloride. A new kind of amphiphilic polystyrene-g-poly (ethylene oxide)graft copolymer containing both microphase separated and PEO side chain structures has been synthesized from radical copolymerization of PEO-A macromonomer with styrene. After careful purification by a newly-developed method called 'selective dissolution’, the well-defined structure of the purified copolymers was confirmed by IR, ~1H-NMR and GPC. Various experimental parameters controlling the copolymerization were studied in detail. The results indicated that the feed ratio of styrene to macromonomer(S/M) was the most important determining factor for the composition of the copolymers. A detailed 'comb- model' was proposed to describe the molecular structure of the graft copolymers. Selective flocculation studies were conducted using different polymers such as starch amylopectin(AP), poly acrylic acid(PAA), and a graft copolymer(AP-g-PAA). The obtained results were analyzed; they indicate the enhancement of the iron ore grade from 58.49% to 67.52% using AP-g-PAA with a recovery of 95.08%. In addition, 64.45% Fe with a recovery of 88.79% was obtained using AP. Similarly, using PAA, the grade increased to 63.46% Fe with a recovery of 82.10%. | 15 | Overcoming chemotherapy resistance via simultaneous drug-efflux circumvention and mitochondrial targeting显示文摘Multidrug resistance(MDR) has been considered as a huge challenge to the effective chemotherapy. Therefore, it is necessary to develop new strategies to effectively overcome MDR. Here,based on the previous research of N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide(HPMA) polymer–drug conjugates, we designed an effective system that combined drug-efflux circumvention and mitochondria targeting of anticancer drug doxorubicin(Dox). Briefly, Dox was modified with mitochondrial membrane penetrating peptide(MPP) and then attached to(HPMA) copolymers(P-M-Dox). Our study showed that macromolecular HPMA copolymers successfully bypassed drug efflux pumps and escorted Dox into resistant MCF-7/ADR cells via endocytic pathway. Subsequently, the mitochondria accumulation of drugs was significantly enhanced with 11.6-fold increase by MPP modification. The excellent mitochondria targeting then resulted in significant enhancement of reactive oxygen species(ROS) as well as reduction of adenosine triphosphate(ATP)production, which could further inhibit drug efflux and resistant cancer cell growth. By reversing Dox resistance, P-M-Dox achieved much better suppression in the growth of 3D MCF-7/ADR tumor spheroids compared with free Dox. Hence, PHB belongs to the family ofpoly (β-hydroxyalkanoastes), PHA, all of which are usually formed as intracellular inclusions in bacteria under unbalanced growth conditions. Recently, it became of industrial interest to evaluate these PHA polyesters as natural biodegradable and biocompatible plastics for a wide range of possible applications, such as surgical sutures or packaging containers. For industrial applications, the controlled incorporation of repeating units with different chain lengths into a series of copolymers is desirable in order to produce polyesters with a range of material properties because physical and chemical characteristics depend strongly on the polymer composition.
