2A chromosome-scale genome assembly of Isatis indigotica,an important medicinal plant used in traditional Chinese medicine显示文摘Isatis indigotica(2n=14)is an important medicinal plant in China.Its dried leaves and roots(called Isatidis Folium and Isatidis Radix,respectively)are broadly used in traditional Chinese medicine for curing diseases caused by bacteria and viruses such as influenza and viral pneumonia.Various classes of compounds isolated from this species have been identified as effective ingredients.Previous studies based on transcriptomes revealed only a few candidate genes for the biosynthesis of these active compounds in this medicinal plant.Here,we report a high-quality chromosome-scale genome assembly of I.indigotica with a total size of 293.88 Mb and scaffold N50=36.16 Mb using single-molecule real-time long reads and high-throughput chromosome conformation capture techniques.We annotated 30,323 highconfidence protein-coding genes.Based on homolog searching and functional annotations,we identified many candidate genes involved in the biosynthesis of main active components such as indoles,terpenoids,and phenylpropanoids.In addition,we found that some key enzyme-coding gene families related to the biosynthesis of these components were expanded due to tandem duplications,which likely drove the production of these major active compounds and explained why I.indigotica has excellent antibacterial and antiviral activities.Our results highlighted the importance of genome sequencing in identifying candidate genes for metabolite synthesis in medicinal plants.Minghui Kang Haolin Wu Qiao Yang Li Huang Quanjun Hu Tao Ma Zaiyun Li Jianquan Liu 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:9
3Current understanding of grapevine defense mechanisms against the biotrophic fungus (Erysiphe necator), the causal agent of powdery mildew disease显示文摘The most economically important disease of cultivated grapevines worldwide is powdery mildew(PM)caused by the ascomycete fungus Erysiphe necator.The majority of grapevine cultivars used for wine,table grape,and dried fruit production are derived from the Eurasian grape species Vitis vinifera because of its superior aroma and flavor characteristics.However,this species has little genetic resistance against E.necator meaning that grape production is highly dependent on the frequent use of fungicides.The integration of effective genetic resistance into cultivated grapevines would lead to significant financial and environmental benefits and represents a major challenge for viticultural industries and researchers worldwide.This review will outline the strategies being used to increase our understanding of the molecular basis of V.vinifera susceptibility to this fungal pathogen.It will summarize our current knowledge of different resistance loci/genes that have evolved in wild grapevine species to restrict PM infection and assess the potential application of these defense genes in the generation of PM-resistant grapevine germplasm.Finally,it addresses future research priorities which will be important in the rapid identification,evaluation,and deployment of new PM resistance genes which are capable of conferring effective and durable resistance in the vineyard.Wenping Qiu Angela Feechan Ian Dry 2015Horticulture Research2015,2,1:7
4Development of an in vitro protein digestibility assay mimicking the chicken digestive tract显示文摘It is difficult to obtain in vivo digestion kinetics data of high protein ingredients using chickens. Collecting kinetics data requires repeated sampling of digesta from the small intestine during the digestion process,which is not easily accomplished due to the anatomical structure of chicken digestive tract. An in vitro technique is proposed for measuring the digestion kinetics of protein sources fed to chickens. The method has a 30 min gastric and 3 h intestinal phase. Five hundred milligram crude protein(CP)equivalent of each meal sample(CP = % N × 6.25) was digested with pepsin(28,260 units) in 50 m L polyethylene centrifuge tubes for 30 min in a shaking water bath(150 strokes/min; 30 mm stroke length)at 41C. The 6.5 mL pancreatin was selected as the enzyme concentration for the intestinal phase, during which time 500 m L aliquots were collected at 0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180 and 240 min. Samples were diluted 1:820 with HCl and sodium acetate buffer, and then mixed with ninhydrin reagent(2:1) at100 ± 2C for 15 min and spectrometric readings taken at 568 nm. To validate the assay, 5 replications of soybean meal(SBM), corn gluten meal(CGM), corn distillers dried grains with solubles(CDDGS), porcine meal(PCM), fish meal(FM) and casein(CA) were digested. The digestion data were modeled with PROC NLIN procedure, and the intra coefficient of variation(CV) assessed using PROC MEANS of SAS 9.4. The digestion values at 180 min were SBM 95 ± 4, FM 93 ± 3, PCM 68 ± 4, CGM 82 ± 3 and CDDGS 70 ± 2.Intra CV for SBM, CGM, CDDGS, PCM and FM were 5%, 5%, 12%, 10% and 2%, respectively. The estimated fractional digestion rates for SBM, CGM, CDDGS, FM and PCM were 0.023, 0.013, 0.009, 0.024 and 0.013,respectively. 6Antioxidant capacity and phytochemical content of 16 sources of corn distillers dried grains with solubles(DDGS)显示文摘Corn distillers dried grains with solubles(DDGS) is a co-product of the fuel ethanol industry that is an excellent source of energy, digestible amino acids, and digestible phosphorus. However, the antioxidant capacity and phytochemical content of DDGS and how it is influenced by production parameters is unknown. Therefore, 16 DDGS samples obtained from different ethanol production plants in the U.S.were characterized for antioxidant capacity, vitamin E, xanthophylls, and ferulic acid content and compared with corn. The antioxidant capacity of DDGS samples, measured using the 2,2-diphenyl-lpicrylhydrazyl(DPPH) assay, varied almost 2 folds among samples, but in all cases was more than 3 times that of corn. All DDGS samples had a considerably greater concentration of tocopherols and tocotrienols(lipid-soluble antioxidants) than corn. However, the relative concentrations among the tocopherols and tocotrienols tended to be similar to corn. The xanthophyll lutein was present in all DDGS samples and in all cases exceeded the content in corn. Zeaxanthin was detected in most samples. The total ferulic acid content of the DDGS samples was almost 3-fold greater than corn, but, as in corn, almost all was present in a bound form. However, the concentration of unbound(free) ferulic acid was more than 3 times the concentration found in the corn sample. Thus, DDGS is a rich source of phytochemical compounds and may provide antioxidant and health benefits beyond its macronutrient composition. However, differences in processing can greatly influence the phytochemical content and quality of DDGS. 7Purification and Characterization of an Antibacterial Peptide from Rana Temporaria Chensinensis Skin显示文摘The Rana temporaria chensinensis is an amphibian distributing mainly over the north of China. Its skin gland contains a variety of peptides, including antibacterial peptides. One of them, component 1, has been purified from the dried skin of R.temporaria chensinesis using a five step procedure. Purified component 1 has a molecular weight of 5 700 and its amino acid composition shows that it is devoid of disulfide bridges but rich in histine and glycine residues. 8ISOLATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF MAYTANSINE AND MAYTANPRINE, TWO ANTICANCER AGENTS FROM MAYTENUS HOOKERI LOES显示文摘Maytansine (I) (C34H46CIN3O10) is a novel type of ansa macrolide with potent antitumor activity. It was isolated by Kupchan et al. with great efforts from several Maytenus species (0.2 p.p.m.—1.5 p.p.m, dried plant material) collected in Kenya and Ethiopia. It showed highly inhibitory activity against several experimental tumors (L-1210, P-388, W-256, S-180, Lewis lung carcinoma and B-16 melanocarcinoma) at the level of micrograms per kilogram body weight and the safety dosage ranging about 50—100 folds. 9Deciphering the superior thermoelectric property of posttreatment-free PEDOT:PSS/IL hybrid by X-ray and neutron scattering characterization显示文摘In this work,a polymer and ionic liquid(IL)hybrid with superior thermoelectric performance is prepared via a system design of the chemical composition,molar ratio of the constituent molecules and manipulating the structure in solution and dried films.The solution-casted hybrid film,consisting of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tricyanomethanide(EMIM:TCM),shows the highest power factor of 175μW m^(−1) K^(−2) in the polymer hybrid prepared by a post-treatment-free method.With a set of complementary structure characterization methods,it is found that EMIM:TCM can induce the structure reorganization of PEDOT:PSS in solution from a core-shell model to a rod-like model,during which PEDOT partially separates from PSS that eases the conductive network formation.In addition,the oxidation level of PEDOT:PSS is reduced by adding EMIM:TCM.Based on which,the PEDOT:PSS/IL hybrid shows the best performance in optimizing the conductivity(1163 S cm^(−1))and Seebeck coefficient(38.8μV K^(−1))simultaneously.Xin Li Ruike Zou Zhen Liu Jitendra Mata Ben Storer Yu Chen Weiheng Qi Zekun Zhou Peng Zhang 2022npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1:2

11Synthesis and Characterization of TiO_2-CeO_2 Nanocomposite by Supercritical Fluid Drying显示文摘TiO2-CeO2 nanocomposite particles were prepared with Ce(NO3)3·6H2O and TiCl4 as precursors by the codeposition method and supercritical fluid drying (SCFD) technology. The particles prepared were characterized by means of XRD, TEM and FTIR. The results show that SCFD can give rise to the direct synthesis of the anatase TiO2-CeO2,and the particle size is 6~11 nm under 500 ℃ thermal-treated,smaller than that by common drying (CD). The phase transformation from anatase to rutile is inhibited by supercritical fluid drying technology. 12干姜的镇静作用研究(英文)显示文摘[Objective] The experiment aimed to explore sedation of dried ginger.[Method] By compared the experimental results before and after intragastric administration,the influences of decoction of dried ginger at different concentrations(1,2,3 mg/ml)on locomotor activities of white mice.[Result]When the decoction of dried ginger was 1 g/ml,the time of free movements and the number of raising forelimbs of mice were obviously detained(2.5 h after intragastric administration).When the decoction of dried ginger was 2 g/ml,the time of free movements and the number of raising forelimbs of mice were obviously influenced however the inhibition time is short than that of 1 g/ml.When the decoction of dried ginger was 3 g/ml,the inhibition is not obvious.[Conclusion] Dried ginger had some sedation effect which was related to its dosage.李艳玲 梁鹤 2008Agricultural Science & Technology2008,9,4:2
13The carotenoid characteristics of the important wild shrimp Trachysalambria curvirostris(Stimpson,1860) in China显示文摘Trachysalambria curvirostris is an economically important shrimp in the coastal waters of the Western Indo-Pacific. However, there is no information about its carotenoid composition and distribution. The carotenoid profiles including concentration, composition, molecular forms (free or esterified) and configuration (geometrical and optical isomers) of raw and dried T. curvirostris (Stimpson, 1860) were qualitatively and quantitatively assessed. In the raw shrimp, astaxanthin and β-carotene were the two dominant carotenoids, which contributed 75.18%–88.86% and 2.86%–16.83% of the total carotenoid content. Traces of echinenone, canthaxanthin and astacene were also detected. The carotenoid content in the waste (80.28 mg/kg dry weight) was nearly two-fold higher than that in the meat (49.69 mg/kg dry weight). Of the total astaxanthin in these shrimp, 85.18%–90.59% was esterified. All- trans astaxanthin was the predominant geometrical isomer followed by 13- cis , 9- cis , di- cis and 15- cis isomers. A mix of three stereoisomers was found in all parts and the percentages of meso (3 S , 3’ R ) and (3 S , 3’ S ) forms were significantly higher than the (3 R , 3’ R ) isomer. Compared to the carotenoid content of the raw shrimp, only 26.17 mg/kg remained in the dried shrimp. Nearly half of the carotenoids were lost during the drying process. 16Anaphylaxis induced by inhaling guinea pig allergen显示文摘To the Editor:A 27-year-old man was admitted to the Peking Union Medical College Hospital for wheezing,accompanied by coughing;white phlegm;dyspnea;sneezing;a runny,stuffy,and itchy nose;red itchy eyes;wheals on both arms;abdominal pain and dizziness.His symptoms started 10 min after he bathed and dried his guinea pig.Cetirizine and steroids partially alleviated the symptoms that day and completely alleviated them by the next morning.The patient’s history included allergic rhinitis and eczema,and he had no food or drug allergies.His father was allergic to cheese and eggs.He had kept a cat for 20 years,a dog for 5 years,and a guinea pig for 2 years.Physical examination on admission revealed maculopapules,scratches,and scabs scattered around both legs,his nasal mucosa was pale and edematous,and his lung breath sounds were clear.He was diagnosed with anaphylaxis,allergic rhinitis,and eczema.Allergen testing was performed.The skin test was positive for dust mites(++),dust(+),and cats(++).His total IgE was 200 kU/L.Serumspecific IgE(sIgE)results showed the following:Phadiatop,11.4 pharmacia arbitrary unit/L(grade 3);guinea pig(e6),22.7 kU allergen(A)/L(grade 4);Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus(d1),10.6 kU(A)/L(grade 3);Dermatophagoides farinae(d2),11.4 kU(A)/L(grade 3);hx2(h2,d1,d2,i6),12.7 kU(A)/L(grade 3);and cat dander(e1),0.89 kU(A)/L(grade 2).The sIgE values for hamster(e84),rat(e87),mouse(e88),dog dander(e5),Aspergillus fumigatus(m3),and Alternaria alternata(m6)were all<0.35 kU(A)/L(Immuno-CAP,Thermo Fisher Scientific,San Jose,CA,USA).Lung function tests were forced expiratory volume in 1 s(FEV1),88%;FEV1/forced volume vital capacity,114%;and fraction of exhaled nitric oxide,98 ppb.Rui Tang Hong Li 2021Chinese Medical Journal2021,,2:1

19The isolation and characterization of indole alkaloids from the fruits of Kopsia officinalis显示文摘Sixteen alkaloids have been isolated from the fruits of Kopsia officinalis Tsiang and P.T.Li(Apocynaceae), a plant commonly used in folk medicine for treating tonsillitis and rheumatism. Tenof them were identified as known alkaloids-eburnamenine(1), kopsanone(2), 5, 18-dioxokopsan(3), kopsinilam(4), kopsinine(5), pleiocarpine(6), kopsamine(7), N-carbomethoxy-12-methoxykop-sinaline(8), N-carbomethoxy-11, 12-dimethoxykopsinaline (9) and(+)-vincadifformine (13). Theother three have now been proved to be new.
