1Finite element method based on combination of 'saddle point' variational formulations显示文摘A modified mixed/hybrid finite element method, which is no longer required to satisfy the Babuska-Brezzi condition, is referred to as a stabilized method Based on the duality of vanational principles in solid mechanics, a new type of stabilized method, called the combinatorially stabilized mixed/hybrid finite element method, is presented by weight-averaging both the primal and the dual 'saddle-point' schemes. Through a general analysis of stability and convergence under an abstract framework, it is shown that for the methods only an inf-sup inequality much weaker than Babuska-Brezzi condition needs to be satisfied. 2Common controversies in total knee replacement surgery: Current evidence显示文摘Total knee replacement(TKR) is a widely used operation that has radically improved the quality of life of millions of people during the last few decades. However, some technical details, concerning the surgical procedure and the rehabilitation following total knee arthroplasty, are still a matter of a strong debate. In this review of the literature, we have included the best evidence available of the last decade, in an effort to shed light on some of the most controversial subjects related to TKR surgery. Posterior-stabilized or cruciate-retaining prosthesis? To use a tourniquet during operation or not? Do patients need continuous passive motion for their post-surgery rehabilitation? To resurface patella or not? These are some of the most controversial topics that until now have been persistent dilemmas for the orthopedic surgeon. Results of this systematic review of the literature are highly controversial. These conflicting results are an indication that larger and more well conducted high quality trials are needed in order to gain more secure answers. 3Microstructure and thermal cycling behavior of nanostructured yttria partially stabilized zirconia (YSZ) thermal barrier coatings显示文摘Nanostructured yttria partially stabilized zirconia(YSZ) coatings were prepared by atmospheric plasma spraying(APS) using the conglomeration made by zirconia nanoparticle as the raw materials.The measurement methods,which consisted of scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and thermal cycling behavior,were used to character the morphology,composition and thermal oxidation behavior of the powder and the coatings.From the results,it was shown that the YSZ coating was the laminar structure,and the elements distribution in the bond and top coat were well-proportioned.The YSZ coatings were composed of fine grains with size ranging from 30 to 110 nm.The laminar layers with columnar grains were surrounded with unmelted parts of the nanostructured powder and some equiaxed grains.In the as-sprayed nanostructured zirconia coatings,there existed pores that were less than 1 μm.The cracks were observed on some of the crystal border.The cyclic oxidation experiment showed that the nanostructured coating had longer thermal cycling lifetime to exhibit the promising thermal cyclic oxidation resistance.The failure of the nanostructured TBC was similar to the failure of conventional APS TBC.孙杰 张丽丽 赵丹 2010Journal of Rare Earths2010,28,S1:8
4Research on sintering process of YSZ electrolyte显示文摘Yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) has widely been used as electrolyte in solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC). The microstructure of YSZ related to the fabrication process was discussed in the paper. With YSZ nano-powders about 40-100 nm as raw material, the YSZ adobe was manufactured by tape calendering process. The named three-step sintering process was performed at 1000 ℃ for 2 h, then raised the temperature with normal rate and as soon as up to 1400 ℃, the furnace was controlled at 1250-1300 ℃ for 10-20 h. The high dense YSZs with the relative density of 96%-99% were obtained; the grain size of YSZ could be reduced to 0.5-3 μm. 5Effect of Friedel's salt on strength enhancement of stabilized chloride saline soil显示文摘In the field of soil stabilization, only calcium silicate hydrate(CSH) and ettringite(AFt) as hydration products have been reported to directly contribute to the strength enhancement of the soil. A chloride dredger fill, an artificial chloride saline soil, and a non-saline soil were stabilized by Portland cement(PC) and PC with Ca(OH)_2(CH) with different contents. A series of unconfined compressive strength(UCS) tests of stabilized soil specimen after curing for 7 d and 28 d were carried out, and the hydration products and microstructure of the specimens were observed by X-ray diffractometry(XRD), scanning electronic microscopy(SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis(EDXA). The results showed that the strengths of PC+CH-stabilized chloride saline soils were much higher than those of PC-stabilized soils. A new hydration product of calcium aluminate chloride hydrate, also known as Friedel's salt, appeared in the PC+CH-stabilized chloride saline soils. The solid-phase volume of Friedel's salt expanded during the formation of the hydrate; this volume filled the pores in the stabilized soil. This pore-filling effect was the most important contribution to the significantly enhanced strength of the PC+CH-stabilized chloride saline soils. On the basis of this understanding, a new optimized stabilizer was designed according to the concept that the chloride in saline soil could be utilized as a component of the stabilizer. 6Effect of Gd_2O_3 on the microstructure and thermal properties of nanostructured thermal barrier coatings fabricated by air plasma spraying显示文摘The nanostructured 4–8 mol% Gd_2O_3-4.5 mol% Y_2O_3-ZrO_2(4–8 mol% Gd YSZ) coatings were developed by the atmospheric plasma spraying technique. The microstructure and thermal properties of plasmasprayed 4–8 mol% Gd YSZ coatings were investigated. The experimental results indicate that typical microstructure of the as-sprayed coatings were consisted of melted zones, nano-zones, splats, nano-pores,high-volume spheroidal pores and micro-cracks. The porosity of the 4, 6 and 8 mol% Gd YSZ coatings was about 9.3%, 11.7% and 13.3%, respectively. It was observed that the addition of gadolinia to the nano-YSZ could significantly reduce the thermal conductivity of nano-YSZ. The thermal conductivity of Gd YSZ decreased with increasing Gd_2O_3 addition. 8Improving the performance of solid oxide electrolysis cell with gold nanoparticles-modified LSM-YSZ anode显示文摘Gold, as the common current collector in solid oxide electrolysis cell(SOEC), is traditionally considered to be inert for oxygen evolution reaction at the anode of SOEC. Herein, gold nanoparticles were loaded onto conventional strontium doped lanthanum manganite-yttria stabilized zirconia(LSM-YSZ) anode, which evidently improved the performance of oxygen evolution reaction at 800 °C. The current densities at 1.2 V and 1.4 V increased by 60.0% and 46.9%, respectively, after loading gold nanoparticles onto the LSM-YSZ anode. 10An All-Polarization-Maintaining Multi-Branch Optical Frequency Comb for Highly Sensitive Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy显示文摘We demonstrate a multi-branch all polarization-maintaining Er:fiber frequency comb with five application ports for precise measurement of atomic/molecular transition frequencies in the near-infrared region.A fully stabilized Er:fiber frequency comb with a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror is achieved.The in-loop relative instability of stabilized carrier-envelope-offset frequency is 5.6×10-18 at 1 s integration time,while that of the repetition rate is well below 1.8×10-12 limited by the measurement noise floor of the commercial frequency counter.Five application ports are individually optimized for applications with different wavelengths(1064 nm,1083 nm,1380 nm,1637 nm and 1750 nm).The beat note between the optical frequency comb and continuous laser exhibits the signal-to-noise ratio of at least 30 dB at a resolution bandwidth of 100 kHz.The in-loop frequency instability of the comb is evaluated to be good enough for measurement of rotation-resolved transitions of molecules below 1 kHz resolution.宁凯 侯磊 樊松涛 闫露露 张颜艳 饶冰洁 张晓斐 张首刚 姜海峰 2020Chinese Physics Letters2020,37,6:3
11Preparation of electrolyte membranes for micro tubular solid oxide fuel cells显示文摘Yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) micro tubular electrolyte membranes for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) were prepared via the combined wet phase inversion and sintering technique. The as-derived YSZ mi- cro tubes consist of a thin dense skin layer and a thick porous layer that can serve as the electrode of fuel cells. The dense and the porous electrolyte layers have the thickness of 3-5 μm and 70-90 μm, respectively, while the inner surface porosity of the porous layer is higher than 28.1%. The two layers are perfectly integrated together to preclude the crack or flake of electrolyte film from the electrode. 16A numerical study on flame and large-scale flow structures in bluff-body stabilized flames显示文摘Large Eddy Simulations(LES) in conjunction with the Flamelet Progress Variable(FPV) approach have been performed to investigate the flame and large-scale flow structures in the bluff-body stabilized non-premixed flames, HM1 and HM3. The validity of the numerical methods is first verified by comparing the predicted velocity and composition fields with experimental measurements. Then the evolution of the flame and large-scale flow structures is analyzed when the flames approach blow-off. The analysis of instantaneous and statistical data indicates that there exists a shift of the control mechanism in the recirculation zone in the two flames. In the recirculation zone, HM1 flame is mainly controlled by the mixing effect and ignition mainly occurs in the outer shear layer. In HM3 flame, both the chemical reactions and mixing are important in the recirculation zone. The Proper Orthogonal Decomposition(POD) results show that the fluctuations in the outer shear layer are more intense in HM1, while the flow structures are more obvious in the outer vortex structure in HM3, due to the different control mechanism in the recirculation zone.It further shows that the flow structures in HM1 spread larger in the intense mixing zone due to higher temperature and less extinction.Jing CHEN Hua ZHOU Zhuyin REN 2019Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2019,32,7:1

18Novel Superconducting Electrides in Ca–S System under High Pressures显示文摘Due to their unique structure properties,most of the electrides that possess extra electrons locating in interstitial regions as anions are insulators.Metallic and superconducting electrides are very rare under ambient conditions.We systematically search possible compounds in Ca-S systems stabilized under various pressures up to 200 GPa,and investigate their crystal structures and properties using first-principles calculations.We predict a series of novel stoichiometries in Ca-S systems as potential superconductors,including P2_(1)/m Ca_(3)S, Pnma Ca_(3)S,Pnma Ca_(2)S,Cmcm Ca_(2)S,Fddd CaS_(2),Immm CaS_(3) and C2/c CaS_(4).The P4mbm Ca_(3)S phase exhibits a maximum Tc value of ~20K.It is interesting to notice that the P2_(1)/m Ca_(3)S and Pnma Ca_(2)S stabilized at 60 and 50 GPa behave as superconducting electrides with critical temperatures Tc of 7.04 K and 0.26 K,respectively.More importantly,our results demonstrate that P2_(1)/m Ca_(3)S and Pnma Ca_(2)S are dynamically stable at 5 GPa and 0 GPa,respectively,indicating a high possibility to be quenched to ambient condition or synthesized using the large volume press.刘云仙 王超 韩帅 陈欣 孙海瑞 刘晓兵 2021Chinese Physics Letters2021,38,3:0
19Photooxidation stability of phytosterols with different relative spatial positions in different particles显示文摘The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of relative spatial position of stigmasterol on its photooxidation stability in different particles.Phytosterol oxidation products(POPs)from phytosterol oxidation were successfully isolated and studied using solid phase extraction(SPE)technology in conjunction with GC-MS.The photooxidation stability of stigmasterol in four particles was as follows:zein stabilized particles(ZPs)≈zein-pectin stabilized particles(ZPPs)>soy protein isolate(SPI)-pectin stabilized particles(SPPs)>SPI stabilized particles(SPs).7β-Hydroxy and 5β,6β-epoxy was the main POPs in the first and second oxidation stages,respectively,which reached 8,945±43μg/g and 6,010±289μg/g after 240 min UV light exposure treatment in SPs.When stigmasterol was hydrophobically adsorbed on the surface of SPs,the network gel generated by pectin outside SPPs prevented photooxidation of stigmasterol.When stigmasterol was encapsulated in the interior of ZPs,the blocking effect of pectin in ZPPs became insignificant.The study provided a feasible development direction for the storage and quality control of phytosterols as dietary supplements.Jingjian Liu Dan Wang Ping Shao Simin Feng 2023Food Innovation and Advances2023,2,3:0
20Complex Coacervate Materials as Artificial Cells显示文摘CONSPECTUS:Cells have evolved to be self-sustaining compartmentalized systems that consist of many thousands of biomolecules and metabolites interacting in complex cycles and reaction networks.Numerous subtle intricacies of these self-assembled structures are still largely unknown.The importance of liquid−liquid phase separation(both membraneless and mem-brane bound)is,however,recognized as playing an important role in achieving biological function that is controlled in time and space.Reconstituting biochemical reactions in vitro has been a success of the last decades,for example,establishment of the minimal set of enzymes and nutrients able to replicate cellular activities like the in vitro transcription translation of genes to proteins.Further than this though,artificial cell research has the aim of combining synthetic materials and nonliving macromolecules into ordered assemblies with the ability to carry out more complex and ambitious cell-like functions.These activities can provide insights into fundamental cell processes in simplified and idealized systems but could also have an applied impact in synthetic biology and biotechnology in the future.To date,strategies for the bottom-up fabrication of micrometer scale life-like artificial cells have included stabilized water-in-oil droplets,giant unilamellar vesicles(GUV’s),hydrogels,and complex coacervates.Water-in-oil droplets are a valuable and easy to produce model system for studying cell-like processes;however,the lack of a crowded interior can limit these artificial cells in mimicking life more closely.Similarly membrane stabilized vesicles,such as GUV’s,have the additional membrane feature of cells but still lack a macromolecularly crowded cytoplasm.Hydrogel-based artificial cells have a macromolecularly dense interior(although cross-linked)that better mimics cells,in addition to mechanical properties more similar to the viscoelasticity seen in cells but could be seen as being not dynamic in nature and limiting to the diffusion of biomolecules.On the other hand,liquid−liquid phase separated complex coacervates are an ideal platform for artificial cells as they can most accurately mimic the crowded,viscous,highly charged nature of the eukaryotic cytoplasm.Other important key features that researchers in the field target include stabilizing semipermeable membranes,compartmentalization,information transfer/communication,motility,and metabolism/growth.In this Account,we will briefly cover aspects of coacervation theory and then outline key cases of synthetic coacervate materials used as artificial cells(ranging from polypeptides,modified polysaccharides,polyacrylates,and polymethacrylates,and allyl polymers),finishing with envisioned opportunities and potential applications for coacervate artificial cells moving forward.Alexander B.Cook Sebastian Novosedlik Jan C.M.van Hest 2023Accounts of Materials Research2023,4,3:0
