| 1 | Trend analysis of sediment grain size and sedimentary process in the central South Yellow Sea显示文摘With the method of trend analysis of sediment grain size, the sediment transport trend of the fine-grained sediments area in the central South Yellow Sea was studied. The results demonstrated that there is a sedimentation center around the point of 123.4° E, 35.1°N, and the sediments outside the center are transported to it. The patterns of sediment transportation and deposition in the Yellow Sea should be controlled by cyclonic circulation (including the Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass) and cold water gyre. | 2 | 基于Hurst指数的1982–2013年蒙古高原植被动态变化趋势及其影响因素分析(英文)显示文摘This study analyzed the spatial and temporal variations in the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI) on the Mongolian Plateau from 1982–2013 using Global Inventory Modeling and Mapping Studies(GIMMS) NDVI3 g data and explored the effects of climate factors and human activities on vegetation. The results indicate that NDVI has slight upward trend in the Mongolian Plateau over the last 32 years. The area in which NDVI increased was much larger than that in which it decreased. Increased NDVI was primarily distributed in the southern part of the plateau, especially in the agro-pastoral ecotone of Inner Mongolia. Improvement in the vegetative cover is predicted for a larger area compared to that in which degradation is predicted based on Hurst exponent analysis. The NDVI-indicated vegetation growth in the Mongolian Plateau is a combined result of climate variations and human activities. | 5 | VARIATIONS OF CLOUD FRACTION OVER EAST ASIA UNDER GLOBAL WARMING CONDITIONS IN THE PAST 20 YEARS显示文摘Based on the variation of cloud fraction revealed by D2 Cloud Climatic Data of the InternationalSatellite Cloud Climatology Project and trend analysis methods, the trend of different types of cloud fractionover East Asia during 1984-2006 is obtained. The analysis focuses on the relationship between temperatureand different cloud fraction under the background of globe warming. The result shows a fluctuatingdecreasing tendency in the total cloud fraction, high-level cloud and low-level cloud over East Asia with thedecrement being 2.24%, 1.65% and 1.68%, respectively, while the mid-level cloud increases by 1.07%. Inaddition, there are great regional differences in cloud fraction. Temperature and water-vapor contentvariation caused by the greenhouse effects over East Asia is the primary reason for the variation of cloudfraction. Over the Tibetan Plateau, the Bay of Bengal and the Intertropical Convergence Zone, thetemperature is negatively correlated with high-level cloud, but positively correlated with mid- and low-levelcloud. | 6 | Reference evapotranspiration concentration and its relationship with precipitation concentration at southern and northern slopes of Tianshan Mountains, China显示文摘The investigation of concentration characteristics of reference evapotranspiration(ETref) is important for water resources management. The concentration index(CI), concentration degree(CD) and concentration period(CP) are used to investigate the concentration characteristics of ETref and the relationship between ETref concentration and precipitation concentration at sub-monthly timescale based on the daily climatic variables from 1966 to 2015 in 27 meteorological stations at the southern and northern slopes of Tianshan Mountains in China. It was found that the CI of ETref is about 0.40 and less concentrated than precipitation in the study area. At the southern slope, the maximum ETref appears in late June and is earlier than the maximum precipitation(early July), ETref distributes more equally than precipitation, and the CI, CD and CP of these two variables do not show significant change based on the Mann–Kendall test. At the northern slope, both the maximum ETref and precipitation appear in early July, and ETref is more dispersed than precipitation. During the study period, the maximum ETref at the northern slope tends to appear earlier due to the impacts of wind speed, relative humidity, sunshine duration, and air temperature. ETref concentration does not match the precipitation concentration in the study area, particularly at the southern slope. | 8 | ZONALITY OF DISTRIBUTION OF PHYSICO-GEOGRAPHICAL ZONES IN CHINA显示文摘With the methods of regression analysis and trend surface analysis, taking the bottom and top lines of dark conifer forest, bottom line of permafrost and the snowline of the latest glaciation in China as examples, this paper discusses the zonality regulaties of the distribution of physico-geographical zones in China. (1) Latitude zonality obeys the mathematical model of normal frequency distribution, being approximate to descending straightly within the latitude of China. (2) Longitude zonality shows that the elevation of physico-geographical zone rises straightly with the distance to east coast. (3) The combination of latitude and longitude zonalities appears a plane inclining from SSW to NNE. The decline of physico-geographical zone resembles a semiellipse- sphere inclining from the Qinghai-Xizang (Tibet) Plateau to northeast China, reflecting the effect of relief. | 9 | Estimating trends of the Mediterranean Sea level changes from tide gauge and satellite altimetry data (1993-2015)显示文摘The impact of climate change on sea level has received a great deal of attention by scientists worldwide. In this context, the problem of sea levels on global and regional scales have been analyzed in a number of studies based on tide gauges observations and satellite altimetry measurements. This study focuses on trend estimates from 18 high-quality tide gauge stations along the Mediterranean Sea coast. The seasonal Mann-Kendall test was run at a 5% significance level for each of the 18 stations for the period of 1993-2015 (satellite altimetry era). The results of this test indicate that the trends for 17 stations were statistically significant and showed an increase (no significant trend was observed only at one station). The rates of sea level change for the 17 stations that exhibit significant trends, estimated using seasonal Sen's approach, range after correction for Vertical Land Motion (VLM) from 1.48 to 8.72 mm/a for the period 1993-2015. Furthermore, the magnitude of change at the location of each tide gauge station was estimated using the satellite altimetry measurements. | 10 | Dynamic antimicrobial resistant patterns of Escherichia coli from healthy poultry and swine over 10 years in Chongming Island,Shanghai显示文摘Background:Antimicrobial resistance(AMR)is one of the greatest threats to animal and public health.Here,we conducted a dynamic surveillance of Escherichia coli on Chongming Island in Shanghai during 2009-2021 to identify the characteristics and trends of Chongming’s AMR pandemic.Methods:Rectal(cloaca)swabs from four poultry and nine swine farms(Chongming Island,2009-2021)were collected for E.coli strains acquisition.The micro-broth dilution method was used to test antimicrobial susceptibility of E.coli isolates against 10 antimicrobial classes including 15 antimicrobials.Utilizing generalized linear mixed models(GLMMs)and co-occurrence analyses,we further explored the multiple-drug-resistance(MDR)combinations and dynamic patterns of E.coli over 10 years in two food animals.Results:Total of 863 MDR isolates were found among 945 collected E.coli isolates,337 from poultry and 608 from swine.Both isolates exhibited high resistant rates(>70%)to tetracyclines,phenicols,sulfonamides,penicillins,and aminoglycosides(only in swine).The resistant rates of swine isolates to penicillins,aminoglycosides,tetracyclines,phenicols,and polymyxins were significantly higher than those of poultry isolates,whereas resistance to fluoroquinolones was reversed.Resistance to polymyxins decreased similarly in swine(42.4%in 2009 to 0.0%in 2021)and poultry isolates(from 16.5%to 0.0%).However,resistance to other seven antimicrobial classes(excluding carbapenems and penicillins)declined dramatically in swine isolates,particularly fluoroquinolones(from 80.5%to 14.4%),and tendencies of resistance to the seven classes showed markedly divergent patterns in poultry isolates.Using Poisson GLMMs,the AMR carriage since 2016 was significantly lower than that of 2009(odds ratio<1),indicating a decline in the risk of MDR emergence.Furthermore,despite the highly diverse MDR profiles,co-occurrence analysis identified two prominent MDR clusters of penicillins-phenicols-fluoroquinolones in poultry and aminoglycosides-tetracyclines-sulfonamides-phenicols in swine.Conclusions:Our study uncovered vastly distinct AMR patterns and dynamic tendencies of poultry and swine E.coli isolates from Chongming.Meanwhile,Chongming’s AMR status has ameliorated,as indicated by the decline in antimicrobials prevalence(particularly in swine),lower likelihood of MDR emergence and low carbapenem-,cephalosporin-,and polymyxin resistance.Importantly,this surveillance results are the vital basis for future policy development in Chongming and Shanghai. | Chao Lv Jun Shang Wengang Zhang Bingqing Sun Min Li Chaoyi Guo Nan Zhou Xiaokui Guo Shixin Huang Yongzhang Zhu | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,5: | 0 |
| 11 | Sediment transport trends and cross-sectional stability of a lagoonal tidal inlet on the Central Coast of Vietnam显示文摘Lagoonal tidal inlets are a typical morphology of the Central Coast of Vietnam. Recently, navigation channels in these inlets have become increasingly threatened by siltation. This study analyses the relations between sediment distribution and transport trends (using the technique of Sediment Trend Analysis-STA■) in the lagoonal system of the De Gi inlet and then proposes appropriate countermeasures against sand deposition in the navigation channel. The STA identified three types of transport trends in the De Gi inlet, namely dynamic equilibrium, net accretion, and net erosion. Processes associated with the tidal prism have resulted in trends of sediment transport and deposition across the flood and ebb tidal shoals, which maintain a present cross-sectional area of about 1000m^2. However, longshore sediment transport from north to south resulting from northeast waves cause additional sand deposition in the channel. In addition, the effects of refraction associated with a nearby headland and jetty also increase sedimentation. These processes provide the main reasons for sediment deposition in the De Gi inlet. Short term and regular dredging helps to maintain the navigation channel.
