| 1 | Clinical usefulness of biochemical markers of liver fibrosis in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘AIM: Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a severe form of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and progresses to the end stage of liver disease. Biochemical markers of liver fibrosis are strongly associated with the degree of histological liver fibrosis in patients with chronic liver disease.However, data are few on the usefulness of markers in NAFLD patients. The aim of this study was to identify better noninvasive predictors of hepatic fibrosis, with special focus on markers of liver fibrosis, type Ⅵ collagen 7S domain and hyaluronic acid.METHODS: One hundred and twelve patients with histologically proven NAFLD were studied.RESULTS: The histological stage of NAFLD correlated with several clinical and biochemical variables, the extent of hepatic fibrosis and the markers of liver fibrosis were relatively strong associated. The best cutoff values to detect NASH were assessed by using receiver operating characteristic analysis: type Ⅵ collagen 7S domain ≥5.0 ng/mL, hyaluronic acid ≥43 ng/mL. Both markers had a high positive predictive value: type Ⅵ collagen 7S domain, 86% and hyaluronic acid,92%. Diagnostic accuracies of these markers were evaluated to detect severe fibrosis. Both markers showed high negative predictive values: type Ⅵ collagen 7S domain (≥5.0 ng/mL),84% and hyaluronic acid (≥50 ng/mL), 78%, and were significantly and independently associated with the presence of NASH or severe fibrosis by logistic regression analysis.CONCLUSION: Both markers of liver fibrosis are useful in discriminating NASH from fatty liver alone or patients with severe fibrosis from patients with non-severe fibrosis. | Hiroshi Sakugawa Tomofumi Nakayoshi Kasen Kobashigawa Tsuyoshi Yamashiro Tatsuji Maeshiro Satoru Miyagi Joji Shiroma Akiyo Toyama Tomokuni Nakayoshi Fukunori Kinjo Atsushi Saito | 2005 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2005,11,2: | 9 |
| 2 | Analysis software for upper atmospheric data developed by the IUGONET project and its application to polar science显示文摘To comprehensively understand the Arctic and Antarctic upper atmosphere,it is often crucial to analyze various data that are obtained from many regions.Infrastructure that promotes such interdisciplinary studies on the upper atmosphere has been developed by a Japanese inter-university project called the Inter-university Upper atmosphere Global Observation Network(IUGONET).The objective of this paper is to describe the infrastructure and tools developed by IUGONET.We focus on the data analysis software.It is written in Interactive Data Language(IDL)and is a plug-in for the THEMIS Data Analysis Software suite(TDAS),which is a set of IDL libraries used to visualize and analyze satellite-and ground-based data.We present plots of upper atmospheric data provided by IUGONET as examples of applications,and verify the usefulness of the software in the study of polar science.We discuss IUGONET’s new and unique developments,i.e.,an executable file of TDAS that can run on the IDL Virtual Machine,IDL routines to retrieve metadata from the IUGONET database,and an archive of 3-D simulation data that uses the Common Data Format so that it can easily be used with TDAS. | Yoshimasa Tanaka Atsuki Shinbori Tomoaki Hori Yukinobu Koyama Shuji Abe No-rio Umemura Yuka Sato Manabu Yagi Satoru UeNo Akiyo Yatagai Yasunobu Ogawa Yoshizumi Miyoshi | 2013 | Advances in Polar Science2013,24,4: | 2 |

| 4 | Mechanisms and anatomical risk factors of pneumothorax after Bevacizumab use:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Bevacizumab is an antiangiogenic agent,and that synergizes with chemotherapeutic drugs.When used in combination therapies,Bevacizumab is associated with adverse events such as hemorrhage,gastrointestinal perforation,delayed wound healing,and pneumothorax.However,the molecular mechanisms underlying these adverse events are not fully understood.CASE SUMMARY A 45-year-old female with multiple lung metastases that were derived from primary breast cancer,was placed on Bevacizumab+paclitaxel therapy,since this combination has a potent antitumor effect.She reported dyspnea before cycle 3,day 1 and we therefore ran a chest X-ray,which detected a right pneumothorax.The coronal plane computed tomography revealed that one solid mass rapidly necrosed and was replaced by a cavity that passed through the bronchus in the right lower lobe.The cavity eventually ruptured the pleura and made the bronchopleural fistula that led to this pneumothorax.Thoracic cavity drainage using an intercostal catheter was performed.On the 7th day of drainage,the patient was discharged from our hospital on recovery.Recurrence of pneumothorax was not reported,and continuation of chemotherapy was made possible by changing the regimen.CONCLUSION Patients with lung metastases surrounding the bronchi and on the pleura should be monitored for pneumothorax by Bevacizumab-containing chemotherapies. | Yuri Ozaki Akiyo Yoshimura Masataka Sawaki Masaya Hattori Naomi Gondo Haruru Kotani Yayoi Adachi Ayumi Kataoka Kayoko Sugino Nanae Horisawa Yuka Endo Kazuki Nozawa Shoko Sakamoto Hiroji Iwata | 2020 | World Journal of Clinical Oncology2020,11,7: | 2 |
