| 1 | Laparoscopic gastric surgery for cancer: Where do we stand?显示文摘Gastric cancer poses a significant public health problem, especially in the Far East, due to its high incidence in these areas. Surgical treatment and guidelines have been markedly different in the West, but nowadays this debate is apparently coming to an end. Laparoscopic surgery has been employed in the surgical treatment of gastric cancer for two decades now, but with controversies about the extent of resection and lymphadenectomy. Despite these difficulties, the apparent advantages of the laparoscopic approach helped its implementation in early stage and distal gastric cancer, with an increase on the uptake for distal gastrectomy for more advanced disease and total gastrectomy. Nevertheless, there is no conclusive evidence about the laparoscopic approach yet. | 4 | Thermal bridging of graphene nanosheets via covalent molecular junctions: A non-equilibrium Green's functions-density functional tightbinding study显示文摘Despite the uniquely high thermal conductivity of graphene is well known,the exploitation of graphene into thermally conductive nanomaterials and devices is limited by the inefficiency of thermal contacts between the individual nanosheets.A fascinating yet experimentally challenging route to enhance thermal conductance at contacts between graphene nanosheets is through molecular junctions,allowing covalently connecting nanosheets,otherwise interacting only via weak Van der Waals forces.Beside the bare existence of covalent connections,the choice of molecular structures to be used as thermal junctions should be guided by their vibrational properties,in terms of phonon transfer through the molecular junction.In this paper,density functional tight-binding combined with Green's functions formalism was applied for the calculation of thermal conductance and phonon spectra of several different aliphatic and aromatic molecular junctions between graphene nanosheets.Effects of molecular junction length,conformation,and aromaticity were studied in detail and correlated with phonon tunnelling spectra.The theoretical insight provided by this work can guide future experimental studies to select suitable molecular junctions,in order to enhance the thermal transport by suppressing the interfacial thermal resistances.This is attractive for various systems,including graphene nanopapers and graphene polymer nanocomposites,as well as related devices.In a broader view,the possibility to design molecular junctions to control phonon transport currently appears as an efficient way to produce phononic devices and controlling heat management in nanostructures. | Diego Martinez Gutierrez Alessa ndro Di Pierro Alessa ndro Pecchia Leon ardo Medra no San donas Rafael Gutierrez Mar Bernal Bohayra Mortazavi Gianaurelio Cuniberti Guido Saracco Alberto Fina | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,4: | 2 |

| 8 | Acute kidney injury in severely injured patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit显示文摘Background:Our objective was to identify possible associations between clinical and laboratory variables and the risk of developing acute kidney injury(AKI)in severely injured patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit(ICU)for whom creatine kinase(CK)levels were available.Methods:For this retrospective observational study,we analyzed adult trauma patients admitted to the ICU from 2011 to 2015 at Fundación Valle del Lili(FVL)University Hospital.Our primary outcome was the incidence of AKI.Multivariate regression analysis was used to assess risk factors for this outcome.Results:A total of 315 patients were included.The trauma mechanisms were blunt(n=130),penetrating(n=66)and blast(n=44)trauma.The median[interquartile range,(IQR)of injury severity score(ISS)was 21(16–29).AKI developed in 75 patients(23.8%).Multivariate regression analysis revealed that the thoracic abbreviated injury scale(AIS)value(median(IQR)in the AKI group:3(0–4)],Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation(APACHE Ⅱ)score[median(IQR)in the AKI group:18(10–27)],CK greater than 5000 U/L,lactic acid concentration at admission,and dobutamine administration were independently associated with AKI.Conclusions:We found that age,APACHE Ⅱ score,thoracic trauma,lactic acidosis,and dobutamine administration were independently associated with AKI.Trauma surgeons need to be aware of the increased odds of AKI if one of these factors is identified during the evaluation and treatment of injured patients. | Alberto F.García Ramiro Manzano-Nunez Juan G.Bayona Maria P.Naranjo Dary Neicce Villa Manuel Moreno Sebastian Ossa Juan M.Martinez Nathalia Martinez Juan C.Puyana | 2021 | Military Medical Research2021,8,2: | 1 |

| 16 | Effects of laponite and silica nanoparticles on the cleaning performance of amylase towards starch soils显示文摘This work aims to understand the effect of nanoparticle-enzyme interactions and how such interactions affect starch based soil removal. Silica and laponite are used as the model nanoparticles, and-amylase is employed as the model enzyme. The results show that, if the nanoparticles and enzyme are added simulta-neously, laponite enhances the enzyme performance toward starch soil removal, whereas silica imposes a small effect on the enzymatic activity towards the same soil substrates. However, when nanoparti-cles are added first, the enzyme activity is not affected much by laponite but is hindered significantly by silica nanoparticles. Furthermore, sequential addition of the enzyme followed by silica nanoparticles improves soil removal.
