| 1 | Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management (Health-EDRM):Developing the Research Field within the Sendai Framework Paradigm显示文摘The intersection of health and disaster risk reduction(DRR) has emerged in recent years as a field of critical inquiry.Health is recognized as an outcome and a goal of DRR,and the integration of both fields is essential to ensure the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030.Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management(Health-EDRM) has emerged as an umbrella field that encompasses emergency and disaster medicine,DRR,humanitarian response, community health resilience, and health systems resilience. In September 2016,an international group of experts met in Hong Kong to assess the current status and potential of the Health-EDRM research field,a research area that these scholars characterized as underdeveloped and fragmented.Key challenges identified include research overlap, lack ofstrategic research agenda, absence of consensus regarding terminology, and limited coordination between stakeholders. The Sendai Framework provides a useful paradigm within which to shape the research field's strategic development. The WHO Thematic Platform for Health-EDRM Research Group was established to coordinate activities, promote information-sharing,develop partnerships, and provide technical advice to strengthen the Health-EDRM research field. This group will promote the generation of robust and scientific health research to support the meaningful implementation of the Sendai Framework. | Sharon Tsoon Ting Lo Emily Ying Yang Chan Gloria Kwong Wai Chan Virginia Murray Jonathan Abrahams Ali Ardalan Ryoma Kayano Johnny Chung Wai Yau | 2017 | International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2017,8,2: | 3 |

| 5 | Exploring the criteria and factors affecting firefighters’resilience:A qualitative study显示文摘Purpose:Firefighters are exposed to high levels of occupational risk factors, such as safety risks, chemical, ergonomic, and physical hazards that may jeopardize their lives. To overcome these hazards, firefighters must be physically, mentally, and personally fit to work. This study aimed to explore the criteria and factors affecting firefighters'resilience based on stakeholders’experiences. Methods:This qualitative study was carried out using conventional content analysis. In total,21 face-to-face interviews were conducted by firefighters who were experienced in the field. The interviews were carried out from July 2019 to January 2020.The data were collected using 3 unstructured interviews and then resumed by 18 semi-structured interviews.Data analysis was done using Graneheim method. Results:The participants had more than 5 years of experience in the field of search and rescue. The extracted codes through data analysis were classified into 3 main categories(individual, organizational, and social factors),9 sub-categories(mental,physical,occupational,managerial,colleagues-related,equipment-related,environmental,community-related,and family-related factors),as well as 19 sub-sub-categories and 570 codes. Conclusion:Firefighters'personality, physical condition, behavior and psychological characteristics can affect their resilience along with organizational and management factors that play significant role in people's safety.Developing a tool for assessing resilience can help decision makers to have a real depict of firefighters'job qualifications. | Ahad Heydari Abbas Ostadtaghizadeh Ali Ardalan Abbas Ebadi Iraj Mohammadfam Davoud Khorasani-Zavareh | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Traumatology2022,25,2: | 0 |
| 6 | Preparedness of community-based organisations in biohazard: reliability and validity of an assessment tool显示文摘The purpose of this study was to develop a tool for community-based health organisations(CBHOs)to evaluate the preparedness in biohazards concerning epidemics or bioterrorism. We searched concepts on partnerships of CBHOs with health systems in guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and literature. Then,we validated the researcher-made tool by face validity, content validity, exploratory factor analysis(EFA),confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)and criterion validity.Data were collected by sending the tool to 620 CBHOs serving under supervision of Iran’s ministry of health.Opinions of health professionals and stakeholders in CBHOs were used to assess face and content validity.Factor loads in EFA were based on three-factor structure that verified by CFA.We used SPSS V.18 and Mplus7 software for statistical analysis.About 105 health-based CBHOs participated. After conducting face validity and calculating content validity ratio and content validity index,we reached 54 items in the field of planning, training and infrastructure. We conducted construct validity using 105 CBHOs.Three items exchanged between the fields according to factor loads in EFA,and CFA verified the model fit as Comparative Fit Index,Tucker-Lewis index and root mean square error of approximation were 0.921,0918 and 0.052,respectively.The Cronbach’s of the whole tool was 0.944.Spearman correlation coefficient confirmed criterion validity as coefficient was 0.736.Planning,training and infrastructure fields are the most important aspects of preparedness in health-based CBHOs.Applying the new assessment tool in future studies will show the weaknesses and capabilities of health-based CBHOs in biohazard and clear necessary intervention actions for health authorities. | Fatemeh Rezaei Mohammad R Maracy Mohammad H Yarmohammadian Ali Ardalan Mahmood Keyvanara | 2019 | Family Medicine and Community Health2019,7,3: | 0 |
