| 2 | Hes1,an important gene for activation of hepatic stellate cells,is regulated by Notch1 and TGF-β/BMP signaling显示文摘AIM:To determine the role of Notch1 and Hes1 in regulating the activation of hepatic stellate cells(HSCs) and whether Hes1 is regulated by transforming growth factor(TGF)/bone morphogenetic protein(BMP) signaling.METHODS:Immunofluorescence staining was used to detect the expression of desmin,glial fibrillary acidic protein and the myofibroblastic marker α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA) after freshly isolated,normal rat HSCs had been activated in culture for different numbers of days(0,1,3,7 and 10 d).The expression of α-SMA,collagen1α2(COL1α2),Notch receptors(Notch1-4),and the Notch target genes Hes1 and Hey1 were analyzed by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction.Luciferase reporter assays and Western blot were used to study the regulation of α-SMA,COL1α1,COL1α2 and Hes1 by NICD1,Hes1,CA-ALK3,and CA-ALK5 in HSC-T6 cells.Moreover,the effects of inhibiting Hes1 function in HSC-T6 cells using a Hes1 decoy were also investigated.RESULTS:The expression of Notch1 and Hes1 m RNAs was significantly down-regulated during the culture of freshly isolated HSCs.In HSC-T6 cells,Notch1 inhibited the promoter activities of α-SMA,COL1α1 and COL1α2.On the other hand,Hes1 enhanced the promoter activities of α-SMA and COL1α2,and this effect could be blocked by inhibiting Hes1 function with a Hes1 decoy.Furthermore,co-transfection of pc DNA3-CAALK3(BMP signaling activin receptor-like kinase 3) and pc DNA3.1-NICD1 further increased the expression of Hes1 compared with transfection of either vector alone in HSC-T6 cells,while pc DNA3-CA-ALK5(TGF-β signaling activin receptor-like kinase 5) reduced the effect of NICD1 on Hes1 expression.CONCLUSION:Selective interruption of Hes1 or maintenance of Hes1 at a reasonable level decreases the promoter activities of α-SMA and COL1α2,and these conditions may provide an anti-fibrotic strategy against hepatic fibrosis. | Kai Zhang Yan-Qiong Zhang Wen-Bing Ai Qing-Ting Hu Qiao-Juan Zhang Lin-Yan Wan Xiao-Lian Wang Chang-Bai Liu Jiang-Feng Wu | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，3： | 23 |

| 5 | Night Sleep Duration and Risk of Cognitive Impairment in a Chinese Population: A Cross-sectional Study显示文摘Objective Although sleep is one of the most important health-related behavioral factors,the association between night sleep duration and cognitive impairment has not been fully understood.A cross-sectional study was conducted with a random sample of 2,514 participants(≥40 years of age;46.6% women) in China to examine the association between night sleep duration and cognitive impairment.Methods Night sleep duration was categorized as ≤ 5,6,7,8,or ≥9 h per night.Cognitive function was measured using the Mini-Mental State Examination.A multivariate regression analysis was used to analyze the association of night sleep duration with cognitive impairment.A total of 122 participants were diagnosed with cognitive impairment.Results A U-shaped association between night sleep duration and cognitive impairment was found.The odds ratios(95% confidence intervals) of cognitive impairment(with 7 h of daily sleep being considered as the reference) for individuals reporting ≤ 5,6,8,and ≥9 h were 2.14(1.20-3.83),1.13(0.67-1.89),1.51(0.82-2.79),and 5.37(1.62-17.80),respectively(P≤0.01).Conclusion Short or long night sleep duration was an important sleep-related factor independently associated with cognitive impairment and may be a useful marker for increased risk of cognitive impairment. | SONG Qiao Feng LIU Xiao Xue HU Wan Ning HAN Xiao Chen ZHOU Wen Hua LU Ai Dong WANG Xi Zhu WU Shou Ling | 2017 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2017，30，10： | 5 |

| 10 | Operation Efficiency and Influencing Factors of Listed Companies of Swine Industry:Empirical Analysis Based on Data of 16 Listed Companies in 2010-2014显示文摘Listed companies of the swine industry,as an important form of agricultural industrialized operation,are typical representatives of large-scale production and the level of their operation efficiency exerts a direct influence on the healthy development of the swine industry.Using the DEA-based Malmquist method,this paper made a static and dynamic evaluation of the operation efficiency of 16 listed companies in China's swine industry in 2010-2014. It obtained following results:( i) The overall efficiency of listed companies of China's swine industry remained at high level and the development trend was excellent.( ii) Different types of enterprises had difference in the overall efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency. | 11 | Hydrochloric acid enhanced radiofrequency ablation for treatment of large hepatocellular carcinoma in the caudate lobe:Report of three cases显示文摘BACKGROUND To report on the use of percutaneous hydrochloric acid(HCl) enhanced radiofrequency ablation(HRFA) for the treatment of large(maximum diameter ≥5 cm) hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in the caudate lobe.CASE SUMMARY Between August 2013 and June 2016, three patients with a large HCC(maximum diameter: 5.0, 5.7, and 8.1 cm) in the caudate lobe were treated by transarterial chemoembolization followed by computer tomography(CT) guided RFA using a monopolar perfusion RF electrode, which was enhanced by local infusion of 10%HCl at 0.2 mL/min(total volume, 3 to 12 mL). The output power of HRFA reached 100 W, and the average ablation time was 39 min(range, 15 to 60 min).Two patients each underwent one session of HRFA and one patient two sessions.After treatment, CT/magnetic resonance imaging showed that all the three lesions were completely ablated. There was no major complication. Two patients had asymptomatic bile duct dilatation. One patient died of tongue cancer 24 mo after ablation. | 12 | Solution‑Processed Transparent Conducting Electrodes for Flexible Organic Solar Cells with 16.61% Efficiency显示文摘Nonfullerene organic solar cells(OSCs)have achieved breakthrough with pushing the efficiency exceeding 17%.While this shed light on OSC commercialization,high-performance flexible OSCs should be pursued through solution manufacturing.Herein,we report a solution-processed flexible OSC based on a transparent conducting PEDOT:PSS anode doped with trifluoromethanesulfonic acid(CF3SO3H).Through a low-concentration and low-temperature CF3SO3H doping,the conducting polymer anodes exhibited a main sheet resistance of 35Ωsq−1(minimum value:32Ωsq−1),a raised work function(≈5.0 eV),a superior wettability,and a high electrical stability.The high work function minimized the energy level mismatch among the anodes,hole-transporting layers and electron-donors of the active layers,thereby leading to an enhanced carrier extraction.The solution-processed flexible OSCs yielded a record-high efficiency of 16.41%(maximum value:16.61%).Besides,the flexible OSCs afforded the 1000 cyclic bending tests at the radius of 1.5 mm and the long-time thermal treatments at 85°C,demonstrating a high flexibility and a good thermal stability. | Juanyong Wan Yonggao Xia Junfeng Fang Zhiguo Zhang Bingang Xu Jinzhao Wang Ling Ai Weijie Song Kwun Nam Hui Xi Fan Yongfang Li | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021，13，3： | 2 |
