1Inactivation of Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis by a direct-current,cold atmospheric-pressure air plasma microjet显示文摘Objective:A direct-current,cold atmospheric-pressure air plasma microjet(PMJ)was performed to inactivate Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)and Enterococcus faecalis(E.faecalis)in air.The process of sterilization and morphology of bacteria was observed.We wish to know the possible inactivation mechanisms of PMJ and explore a potential application in dental and other temperature sensitive treatment.Methods:In this study,we employed a direct current,atmospheric pressure,cold air PMJ to inactivate bacterias.Scanning electron microscopy was employed to evaluate the morphology of S.aureus and showed rupture of cell walls after the plasma treatment and Optical emission spectrum(OES)were used to understand the possible inactivation mechanisms of PMJ.Results:The inactivation rates could reach 100%in 5 min.When the distance between the exit nozzle of the PMJ device and Petri dish was extended from 1 cm to 3 cm,effective inactivation was also observed with a similar inactivation curve.Conclusion:The inactivation of bacteria is attributed to the abundant reactive oxygen and nitrogen species,as well as ultroviolet radiation in the plasma.Different life spans and defensibilities of these killing agents may hold the key to understanding the different inactivation curves at different treatment distances.Ye Tian Peng Sun Haiyan Wu Na Bai Ruixue Wang Weidong Zhu Jue Lnang Fuxiang Liu 2010The Journal of Biomedical Research2010,24,4:2
2Polarization-sensitive and wide-spectrum photovoltaic detector based on quasi-1D ZrGeTe_(4)nanoribbon显示文摘Low-dimensional semiconductors with in-plane anisotropy and narrow bandgap have been extensively applied to polarized detection in the near-infrared(NIR)region.However,the narrow bandgap can cause noise owing to the high dark current in photodetectors.This article reports quasi-1D ZrGeTe_(4)nanoribbonbased photodetectors with low dark current and broadband polarization detection.The photodetector was fabricated by evaporating 50-nm-thick Au electrodes on a ZrGeTe_(4)nanoribbon.Benefiting from the photovoltaic characteristics in the ZrGeTe_(4)nanoribbon and Au electrodes,these photodetectors can operate without bias voltage,with decreased dark current,and improved device performance.Furthermore,the quasi-1D ZrGeTe_(4)nanoribbon-based photodetectors demonstrate a polarization sensitivity in a broadband from visible(VIS)to the NIR region,such as a high photoresponsivity of 625.65 mA W1,large external quantum efficiency of 145.9%at 532 nm,and photocurrent anisotropy ratio of 2.04 at 1064 nm.They exhibit a novel perpendicular optical reversal of 90in polarization-sensitive photodetection,angle-resolved absorption spectra,and azimuth-dependent reflectance difference microscopy(ADRDM)from VIS to the NIR region,as opposed to other nanoribbon-based polarization-sensitive photodetectors.This work paves the way for utilizing photovoltaic photodetectors based on low-dimensional materials for broad-spectrum polarized photodetection.Ruixue Bai Tao Xiong Jinshu Zhou Yue-Yang Liu Wanfu Shen Chunguang Hu Faguang Yan Kaiyou Wang Dahai Wei Jingbo Li Juehan Yang Zhongming Wei 2022InfoMat2022,4,3:2
3Prediction of adolescent subjective well being: A machine learning approach显示文摘Background Subjective well-being(SWB),also known as happiness,plays an important role in evaluating both mental and physical health.Adolescents deserve specific attention because they are under a great variety of stresses and are at risk for mental disorders during adulthood.Aim The present paper aims to predict undergraduate students1 SWB by machine learning method.Methods Gradient Boosting Classifier which was an innovative yet validated machine learning approach was used to analyse data from 10518 Chinese adolescents.The online survey included 298 factors such as depression and personality.Quality control procedure was used to minimise biases due to online survey reports.We applied feature selection to achieve the balance between optimal prediction and result interpretation.Results The top 20 happiness risks and protective factors were finally brought into the predicting model.Approximately 90%individuals'SWB can be predicted correctly,and the sensitivity and specificity were about 92%and 90%,respectively.Conclusions This result identifies at-risk individuals according to new characteristics and established the foundation for adolescent prevention strategies.Naixin Zhang Chuanxin Liu Zhixuan Chen Lin An Decheng Ren Fan Yuan Ruixue Yuan Lei Ji Yan Bi Zhenming Guo Gaini Ma Fei Xu Fengping Yang Liping Zhu Gabirel Robert Yifeng Xu Lin He Bo Bai Tao Yu Guang He 2019General Psychiatry2019,32,5:1
4Phototriggered Formation of a Supramolecular Polymer Network Based on Orthogonal H-Bonding and Host-Guest Recognition显示文摘Supramolecular polymer networks(SPNs)have gained increasing research attention due to their reversible and tunable nature in the preparation of adaptive materials.The use of hierarchical self-assembly techniques is an emerging strategy for the fabrication of smart supramolecular polymer networks,but corresponding study is still rare.Herein,we have reported a novel supramolecular polymer network through complementary host-guest interactions and phototriggered quadruple H-bonding cross-linking.Specifically,we design and synthesize an H1G1-type monomer consisting of a benzo-21-crown-7(B21C7)host(H1),a dialkylammonium salt guest(G1)and a photolabile o-nitrobenzyl ether protected ureidopyrimidinone(Upy)moiety.B21C7 and ammonium moieties can first form a linear supramolecular polymer through complementary host-guest interactions.Under photoirradiation,the Upy groups on the SP side chains were released,and the obtained linear supramolecular polymer could be further transformed into SPN through a quadruple H-bonding cross-linking.Meanwhile,the in situ transformation in the solid state is also accompanied by pronounced enhancement in mechanical properties,which provides foundation for further application of materials in different scenarios.BAI Ruixue YANG Xue ZHAO Jun ZHANG Zhaoming YAN Xuzhou 2023Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2023,39,5:0
5Excitonic devices based on two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides van der Waals heterostructures显示文摘Excitonic devices are an emerging class of technology that utilizes excitons as carriers for encoding, transmitting, and storing information. Van der Waals heterostructures based on transition metal dichalcogenides often exhibit a type II band alignment, which facilitates the generation of interlayer excitons. As a bonded pair of electrons and holes in the separation layer, interlayer excitons offer the chance to investigate exciton transport due to their intrinsic out-of-plane dipole moment and extended exciton lifetime. Furthermore, interlayer excitons can potentially analyze other encoding strategies for information processing beyond the conventional utilization of spin and charge. The review provided valuable insights and recommendations for researchers studying interlayer excitonic devices within van der Waals heterostructures based on transition metal dichalcogenides. Firstly, we provide an overview of the essential attributes of transition metal dichalcogenide materials, focusing on their fundamental properties, excitonic effects, and the distinctive features exhibited by interlayer excitons in van der Waals heterostructures. Subsequently, this discourse emphasizes the recent advancements in interlayer excitonic devices founded on van der Waals heterostructures, with specific attention is given to the utilization of valley electronics for information processing, employing the valley index. 6Weldable and closed-loop recyclable monolithic dynamic covalent polymer aerogels显示文摘Owing to their low density,high porosity and unique micro-nanostructures,aerogels are attractive for application in various fields;however,they suffer from shrinkage and/or cracking during preparation,mechanical brittleness,low production efficiency and non-degradation.Herein,we introduce the concept of dynamic covalent polymer chemistry to produce a new class of aerogels—referred to as DCPAs.The resulting lightweight DCPAs have the potential to be prepared on a large scale and feature high porosity(90.7%–91.3%),large degrees of compression(80%strain)and bending(diametral deflection of 30 mm)without any cracks,as well as considerable tensile properties(an elongation with a break at 32.7%).In addition,the DCPAs showcase the emergent characteristics of weldability,repairability,degradability and closed-loop recyclability that are highly desirable for providing versatile material platforms,though hardly achieved by traditional aerogels.Taking advantage of their robust porous structures,we demonstrate the potential of DCPAs for applications in thermal insulation and emulsion separation.These findings reveal that the dynamic covalent bond strategy would be generalized for the production of a new generation of aerogels with customized features for functioning in the field of intelligent and sustainable materials.Xinhai Zhang Jun Zhao Kai Liu Guangfeng Li Dong Zhao Zhaoming Zhang Junjun Wan Xue Yang Ruixue Bai Yongming Wang Wei Zhang Xuzhou Yan 2022National Science Review2022,9,9:0
7Thermo-responsive topological metamorphosis in covalent-and-supramolecular polymer architectures显示文摘Topological metamorphosis represents a powerful approach to modulate the properties of polymers.However,it still remains a major challenge to achieve the tunability of bulk mechanical properties via topological transformation in supramolecular polymer systems.Herein,we couple the covalent polymer and supramolecular polymer in a single system—referred to as covalent-and-supramolecular polymer(CSP)—to realize a thermo-responsive macromolecular metamorphosis.The CSP is able to topologically switch from grafted polymer to cross-linked network by taking advantage of synergistic dynamic covalent interactions and host–guest interactions.Benefiting from the topologically structural transformation,brittleness intrinsically evolves into toughness in our CSP architectures with minimum change of their molecular compositions from furan–maleimide to anthracene–maleimide linkers.Our work demonstrates that supramolecular polymers are a promising platform to design smart materials not only due to their inherent stimuli-responsive properties but also because of their abilities in determining bulk mechanical properties of polymers with alterable topological structures.Yongming Wang Hao Zhang Zhaoming Zhang Jun Zhao Ruixue Bai Yuhang Liu Xinhai Zhang Xuzhou Yan 2022Aggregate2022,3,6:0
8Electrically driven motion, destruction, and chirality change of polar vortices in oxide superlattices显示文摘Topological polar vortices, which are electric analogs of magnetic objects, present great potential in applications of future nanoelectronics because of their nanometer size, anomalous dielectric response, and chirality. To enable the functionalities, it is prerequisite to manipulate the polar states and chirality by using external stimuli. Here, we probe the evolutions of polar state and chirality evolutions of topological polar vortices in Pb TiO;/Sr TiO;superlattices under an electric field by using atomically resolved in situ scanning transmission electron microscopy and phase-field simulations. We find that, under electric field, the chiral vortex cores can be moved laterally to form close-pair structures, transform into a/c domain stripes, and finally become a nonchiral c-domain. Such transition is reversible and spontaneous after bias removal. Interestingly, during switching and backswitching events, the vortex rotation can be changed, offering a potential strategy to manipulate vortex chirality. 9Construction of a domain knowledge service system based on the STKOS显示文摘Purpose: The study was carried out to construct a domain knowledge service system based on the Scientific & Technological Knowledge Organization Systems(STKOS). Design/methodology/approach: The framework of a domain knowledge service system is designed on the basis of the STKOS, and the STKOS science and technology vocabularies, category systems, and ontology networks are applied to realize the knowledge organization and semantic linking of the scientific and technological information resources. Meanwhile, related knowledge-mining analysis algorithms and models are improved, and some tools such as Solr and D3 are used for developing the system. This system integrates various knowledge service modules, including unified search of domain information resources and knowledge-linked navigation, domain hotspot and burst topics monitoring analysis, knowledge structure and evolution analysis, literature citation network, and research agents' cooperative relationship network analysis. Findings: The system can help to refine descriptions, knowledge organization, and the semantic linking of various kinds of information resources closely related to science and technology. Such resources include domain literature, institutions, scientists, projects, and more.
