2Xa7, a new executor R gene that confers durable and broad-spectrum resistance to bacterial blight disease in rice显示文摘Bacterial blight(BB)is a globally devastating rice disease caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo).The use of disease resistance(R)genes in rice breeding is an effective and economical strategy for the control of this disease.Nevertheless,a majority of R genes lack durable resistance for long-term use under global warming conditions.Here,we report the isolation of a novel executor R gene,Xa7,that confers extremely durable,broad-spectrum,and heat-tolerant resistance to Xoo.The expression of Xa7 was induced by incompatible Xoo strains that secreted the transcription activator-like effector(TALE)AvrXa7 or PthXo3,which recognized effector binding elements(EBEs)in the Xa7 promoter.Furthermore,Xa7 induction was faster and stronger under high temperatures.Overexpression of Xa7 or co-transformation of Xa7 with avrXa7 triggered a hypersensitive response in plants.Constitutive expression of Xa7 activated a defense response in the absence of Xoo but inhibited the growth of transgenic rice plants.In addition,analysis of over 3000 rice varieties showed that the Xa7 locuswas found primarily in the indica and aus subgroups.A variation consisting of an 11-bp insertion and a base substitution(G to T)was found in EBEAvrXa7 in the tested varieties,resulting in a loss of Xa7 BB resistance.Through a decade of effort,we have identified an important BB resistance gene and characterized its distinctive interaction with Xoo strains;these findings will greatly facilitate research on the molecular mechanism of Xa7-mediated resistance and promote the use of this valuable gene in breeding.Xifeng Chen Pengcheng Liu Le Mei Xiaoling He Long Chen Hui Liu Shurong Shen Zhandong Ji Xixi Zheng Yuchen Zhang Zhenyu Gao Dali Zeng Qian Qian Bojun Ma 2021Plant Communications2021,2,3:9
3Fine mapping of the rice bacterial blight resistance gene Xa-4 and its co-segregation marker显示文摘An F2 population developed from the Xa-4 near isogenic lines, IR24 and IRBB4, was used for fine mapping of the rice bacterial blight resistance gene, Xa-4. Some restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) markers on the high-density map constructed by Harushima et al. and the amplified DMA fragments homologous to the conserved domains of plant disease resistance (R) genes were used to construct the genetic linkage map around the gene Xa-4 by scoring susceptible individuals in the population. Xa-4 was mapped between the RFLP marker G181 and the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) marker M55. The R gene homologous fragment marker RS13 was found co-segregating with Xa-4 by analyzing all the plants in the population. 9Prospect Theory and the Newsvendor Problem with Mental Accounting显示文摘The manner in which economic outcomes are coded in a value function is critical because it has substantial influence on the evaluation of risky choices.In this paper,we formulate multiple mental accounts in a nonlinear value function and propose a newsvendor problem with mental accounting to predict and explain pull-to-center phenomenon.We show that the distinctive predictions of the proposed model come from the value function with mental accounting.We identify the individual and combined effects of loss aversion,risk aversion,and risk seeking on shaping newsvendor ordering behavior.Our work demonstrates that prospect theory can explain the decision bias and ordering behavior observed in newsvendor experiments.We also provide some additional insights to explain the studies in the literature.Bojun Gu Xiang Zhang 2020Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2020,29,5:1

11Direct synthesis of Fe-Si-B-C-Cu nanocrystalline alloys with superior soft magnetic properties and ductile by melt-spinning显示文摘Structure,magnetic properties and ductile of melt-spun Fe_(83-x)Si_(4)B_(13-y)C_(y)Cu_(x)(x=0-1.7;y=0-8)alloys were investigated.The addition of 1.7 at.%Cu in a Fe_(83)Si_(4)B_(13) amorphous alloy generates abundantα-Fe crystals by providing nucleation sites,and further C doping promotes the growth of the crystals by suitable turning amorphous-forming ability,hence they increase saturation magnetic flux density(B_(s))and slightly worse magnetic softness of the as-spun alloys.The as-spun Fe_(81.3)Si_(4)B_(7)C_(6)Cu_(1.7) alloy possesses a combined structure of a fully amorphous layer in wheel side surface and predominating nanocrystalline structure with gradually enlargedα-Fe crystal,whose average size and volume fraction are determined as about 12 nm and 32%,respectively,therefore superior soft magnetic properties and ductile with a high B_(s)of 1.74 T,coercivity(H_(c))of 32.7 A/m,effective permeability(μ_(e),at 1 kHz)of 3200 and high relatively strain at fracture(ε_(f))of 3.61%can be achieved directly in this alloy by only using melt-spinning.The annealing at 578 K releases internal stress,promotes the growth of theα-Fe crystals and remains the amorphous layer of the Fe_(81.3)Si_(4)B_(7)C_(6)Cu_(1.7) alloy,then improves the soft magnetic properties and maintains the superior ductile with increasing the B_(s)andμ_(e)to 1.80 T and 14,100,respectively,lowering the H_(c)to9.4 A/m and slightly reducing theε_(f)to 2.39%.The combination of superior soft magnetic properties and ductile and simplified synthesis process entitles the Fe-Si-B-C-Cu nanocrystalline alloys great potentials in high performance electromagnetic applications.Xingjie Jia Bojun Zhang Wei Zhang Yaqiang Dong Jiawei Li Aina He Run-Wei Li 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,13:1

15The tumor-enriched small molecule gambogic amide suppresses glioma by targeting WDR1-dependent cytoskeleton remodeling显示文摘Glioma is the most prevalent brain tumor,presenting with limited treatment options,while patients with malignant glioma and glioblastoma(GBM)have poor prognoses.The physical obstacle to drug delivery imposed by the blood‒brain barrier(BBB)and glioma stem cells(GSCs),which are widely recognized as crucial elements contributing to the unsatisfactory clinical outcomes.In this study,we found a small molecule,gambogic amide(GA-amide),exhibited the ability to effectively penetrate the blood-brain barrier(BBB)and displayed a notable enrichment within the tumor region.Moreover,GA-amide exhibited significant efficacy in inhibiting tumor growth across various in vivo glioma models,encompassing transgenic and primary patient-derived xenograft(PDX)models.We further performed a genome-wide clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)knockout screen to determine the druggable target of GA-amide.By the combination of the cellular thermal shift assay(CETSA),the drug affinity responsive target stability(DARTS)approach,molecular docking simulation and surface plasmon resonance(SPR)analysis,WD repeat domain 1(WDR1)was identified as the direct binding target of GA-amide.Through direct interaction with WDR1,GA-amide promoted the formation of a complex involving WDR1,MYH9 and Cofilin,which accelerate the depolymerization of F-actin to inhibit the invasion of patient-derived glioma cells(PDCs)and induce PDC apoptosis via the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.In conclusion,our study not only identified GA-amide as an effective and safe agent for treating glioma but also shed light on the underlying mechanisms of GA-amide from the perspective of cytoskeletal homeostasis.Jiaorong Qu Bojun Qiu Yuxin Zhang Yan Hu Zhixing Wang Zhiang Guan Yiming Qin Tongtong Sui Fan Wu Boyang Li Wei Han Xiaozhong Peng 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,12:0
