| 1 | Impact of chronic disease self-management programs on type 2 diabetes management in primary care显示文摘AIM: To assess the effectiveness of the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program(CDSMP) on glycated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c) and selected self-reported measures.METHODS: We compared patients who received a diabetes self-care behavioral intervention, the CDSMP developed at the Stanford University, with controls whoreceived usual care on their HbA1c and selected self-reported measures, including diabetes self-care activities, health-related quality of life(HRQOL), pain and fatigue. The subjects were a subset of participants enrolled in a randomized controlled trial that took place at seven regional clinics of a university-affiliated integrated healthcare system of a multi-specialty group practice between January 2009 and June 2011. The primary outcome was change in HbA1c from randomization to 12 mo. Data were analyzed using multilevel statistical models and linear mixed models to provide unbiased estimates of intervention effects.RESULTS: Demographic and baseline clinical characteristics were generally comparable between the two groups. The average baseline HbA1c values in the CDSMP and control groups were 9.4% and 9.2%, respectively. Significant reductions in HbA1c were seen at 12 mo for the two groups, with adjusted changes around 0.6%(P < 0.0001), but the reductions did not differ significantly between the two groups(P = 0.885). Few significant differences were observed in participants' diabetes self-care activities. No significant differences were observed in the participants' HRQOL, pain, or fatigue measures.CONCLUSION: The CDSMP intervention may not lower HbA1c any better than good routine care in an integrated healthcare system. | 6 | Call in question and discussion: Are there sandwiched low-grade metamorphic slabs within UHP metamorphic rocks in the Dabieshan terrane?显示文摘Some geologists reported their discovery of sandwiched low-grade metamorphic slabs within UHP metamorphic Complexes in Changpu, Yuexi County, Anhui Province. They also suggested that some coesite-bearing eclogites are igneous veins, which intruded low-grade metamorphic slabs and other related rocks. Moreover they further called in question to UHP matamorphic process and continental collision tectonism in the Dabieshan terrane. Based on our recent study so-called low-grade metamorphic slabs are strongly deformed fabric, fine-grained and tectonic recrystallized mylonites and tectonites. Their protolith rocks are garnet-bearing orthogneiss, eclogite and marble, as well as a few amounts of strongly deformed acid and basic veins. Their metamorphic, geochemical and geochronological characteristics are also identical with UHPM rocks and regional country orthogneisses. | 13 | Study on Vegetation Restoration in Chongqing Bashan Lake National Wetland Park显示文摘The vegetation restoration experiment was carried out by selecting the arbor-shrub-grass plants with strong stress resistances in the drawdown area of the reservoir of Chongqing Bashan Lake National Wetland Park.The results showed that the survival rate of Taxodium distichum was only 33% in August since the completion of the planting in May 2017,while the survival rates of other plant species were all 100%.After the rising and falling of water levels from September 2017 to February 2018,the investigations conducted in April 2018 showed that the flooding lasted for 130 d at the altitude of 668-672 m,where the preserving rate of Betula nigra was very low of only 25%.The flooding lasted for 120 d at the altitude of 672-675 m,where B.nigra,Pontederia cordata,and Thalia dealbata showed good preserving conditions with the preserving rates over 55%,while Canna indica,Cyperus alternifolius and Iris tectorum had poor preserving conditions with the rates below 50%.The drawdown area with the altitude of 675-678 m had the flooding lasted for 84 d,and good preserving conditions were found in B.nigra,T.distichum,Pterocarya stenoptera,Distylium chinense,Rosa multiflora,P.cordata,T.dealbata and Iris tectorum,which had the preserving rates reach up to 65%,and the preserving rate of B.nigra was as high as 76.2%,but the preserving rates of C.indica and C.alternifolius were low. | Jing XIN Haiyan JIANG Song XIONG Bolin JIANG | 2018 | Agricultural Biotechnology2018,7,6: | 0 |

| 15 | Deep self-learning enables fast,high-fidelity isotropic resolution restoration for volumetric fluorescence microscopy显示文摘One intrinsic yet critical issue that troubles the field of fluorescence microscopy ever since its introduction is the unmatched resolution in the lateral and axial directions(i.e.,resolution anisotropy),which severely deteriorates the quality,reconstruction,and analysis of 3D volume images.By leveraging the natural anisotropy,we present a deep self-learning method termed Self-Net that significantly improves the resolution of axial images by using the lateral images from the same raw dataset as rational targets.By incorporating unsupervised learning for realistic anisotropic degradation and supervised learning for high-fidelity isotropic recovery,our method can effectively suppress the hallucination with substantially enhanced image quality compared to previously reported methods.In the experiments,we show that Self-Net can reconstruct high-fidelity isotropic 3D images from organelle to tissue levels via raw images from various microscopy platforms,e.g.,wide-field,laser-scanning,or super-resolution microscopy.For the first time,Self-Net enables isotropic whole-brain imaging at a voxel resolution of 0.2×0.2×0.2μm^(3),which addresses the last-mile problem of data quality in single-neuron morphology visualization and reconstruction with minimal effort and cost.Overall,Self-Net is a promising approach to overcoming the inherent resolution anisotropy for all classes of 3D fluorescence microscopy. | Kefu Ning Bolin Lu Xiaojun Wang Xiaoyu Zhang Shuo Nie Tao Jiang Anan Li Guoqing Fan Xiaofeng Wang Qingming Luo Hui Gong Jing Yuan | 2023 | Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,9: | 0 |
