| 1 | Enhanced secondary pollution offset reduction of primary emissions during COVID-19 lockdown in China显示文摘To control the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus(COVID-19),China imposed nationwide restrictions on the movement of its population(lockdown)after the Chinese New Year of 2020,leading to large reductions in economic activities and associated emissions.Despite such large decreases in primary pollution,there were nonetheless several periods of heavy haze pollution in eastern China,raising questions about the well-established relationship between human activities and air quality.Here,using comprehensive measurements and modeling,we show that the haze during the COVID lockdown was driven by enhancements of secondary pollution.In particular,large decreases in NOx emissions from transportation increased ozone and nighttime NO_(3)radical formation,and these increases in atmospheric oxidizing capacity in turn facilitated the formation of secondary particulate matter.Our results,afforded by the tragic natural experiment of the COVID-19 pandemic,indicate that haze mitigation depends upon a coordinated and balanced strategy for controlling multiple pollutants. | Xin Huang Aijun Ding Jian Gao Bo Zheng Derong Zhou Ximeng Qi Rong Tang Jiaping Wang Chuanhua Ren Wei Nie Xuguang Chi Zheng Xu Liangduo Chen Yuanyuan Li Fei Che Nini Pang Haikun Wang Dan Tong Wei Qin Wei Cheng Weijing Liu Qingyan Fu Baoxian Liu Fahe Chai Steven JDavis Qiang Zhang Kebin He | 2021 | National Science Review2021，8，2： | 47 |
| 2 | Microwave assisted atmospheric acid leaching of nickel from laterite ore显示文摘The recovery of nickel from laterite ore with sulphuric acid under the effect of microwave irradiation was studied.The experimental results indicated that the extraction rate of nickel was influenced by reaction time,sulphuric acid concentration,and temperature,especially by microwave power.The results obtained from the experiments of orthogonal arrays showed that the optimum conditions of sulphuric acid concentration,reaction time,microwave power,and temperature were 25 vol.%,1.5 h,600 W,and 90°C,respectively.Under the optimal conditions,the nickel recovery could reach approximately 90.8%,which was higher than that obtained by conventional water bath heating.Kinetic experiments showed that the leaching of nickel in a sulphuric acid medium was controlled by chemical reaction occurring on the surface of laterite ore.The apparent activation energy was 38.9 kJ/mol.Microwave heating technology is efficient,clean,and easy to control and facilitate continuous processing of materials. | CHE Xiaokui SU Xiuzhu CHI Ru'an YU Junxia | 2010 | Rare Metals2010，29，3： | 7 |
| 3 | The novel amyloid-beta peptide aptamer inhibits intracellular amyloid-beta peptide toxicity显示文摘Amyloid β peptide binding alcohol dehydrogenase (ABAD) decoy peptide (DP) can competitively antagonize binding of amyloid β peptide to ABAD and inhibit the cytotoxic effects of amyloid β peptide. Based on peptide aptamers, the present study inserted ABAD-DP into the disulfide bond of human thioredoxin (TRX) using molecular cloning technique to construct a fusion gene that can express the TRX1-ABAD-DP-TRX2 aptamer. Moreover, adeno-associated virus was used to allow its stable expression. Immunofluorescent staining revealed the co-expression of the transduced fusion gene TRX1-ABAD-DP-TRX2 and amyloid β peptide in NIH-3T3 cells, indicating that the TRX1-ABAD-DP-TRX2 aptamer can bind amyloid β peptide within cells. In addition, cell morphology and MTT results suggested that TRX1-ABAD-DP-TRX2 attenuated amyloid β peptide-induced SH-SY5Y cell injury and improved cell viability. These findings confirmed the possibility of constructing TRX-based peptide aptamer using ABAD-DP. | 4 | Perihepatic nodes detected by point-of-care ultrasound in acute hepatitis and acute-on-chronic liver disease显示文摘AIM: To study the manifestations of perihepatic lymph nodes during the episode of acute hepatitis flare by point-of-care ultrasonography.METHODS: One hundred and seventy-six patients with an episode of acute hepatitis flare(ALT value > 5 × upper normal limit) were enrolled retrospectively. Diagnosis of etiology of the acute hepatitis flare was based on chart records and serological and virological assays. The patients were categorized into two groups(viral origin and non-viral origin) and further defined into ten subgroups according to the etiologies. An ultrasonograpy was performed within 2 h to 72 h(median, 8 h). The maximum size of each noticeable lymph node was measured. Correlation between clinical parameters and nodal manifestations was analyzed RESULTS: Enlarged lymph nodes(width ≥ 5mm)were noticeable in 110(62.5%) patients, mostly in acute on chronic hepatitis B(54.5%). The viral group had a higher prevalence rate(89/110 = 80.9%) and larger nodal size(median, 7 mm) than those of the non-viral group(21/66 = 31.8%; median, 0 mm)(P < 0.001 for both). Meanwhile, there were significant differences in the nodal size between acute and chronic viral groups(P < 0.01), and between acute hepatitis A and non-hepatitis A viral groups(P < 0.001). In logistical regression analysis, the nodal width still showed strong significance in multivariate analysis(P < 0.0001) to stratify the two groups. The area under the curve of ROC was 0.805, with a sensitivity of 80.9%, a specificity of 68.2%, positive predictive value of 80.92%, negative predictive value of 68.18%, and an accuracy of 76.14%. | 7 | Initial validation of the Yin-Yang Assessment Questionnaire for persons with diabetes mellitus显示文摘AIM:To initially test for the content validity,comprehensibility,test-retest reliability and internal consistency reliability of the Yin-Yang Assessment Questionnaire(YYAQ).METHODS:The process of initial validity and reliability test covered:(1)content validation from the findings of 18 multiple-case studies,validated Yin-and Yangdeficiency assessment questionnaires,relevant literatures and registered Chinese medicine practitioners;(2)comprehension with the levels of comprehensibility for each item categorized on a 3-point scale(not comprehensible;moderately comprehensible;highly comprehensible).A minimum of three respondents selecting for each item of moderately or highly comprehensible were regarded as comprehensive;(3)test-retest reliability conducted with a 2-wk interval.The intraclass correlation coefficients(ICCs)and their 95%CIs were calculated using a two-way random effects model.Wilcoxon Signed Rank test for related samples was adopted to compare the medians of test-retest scores.An ICC value of 0.85 or higher together with P>0.05,was considered acceptable;and(4)internal consistency of the total items was measured and evaluated by Cronbach’s coefficient alpha(α).A Cronbach’sαof 0.7or higher was considered to represent good internal consistency.RESULTS:Eighteen Yin-deficiency and 14 Yang-deficiency presentation items were finalized from content validation.Five participants with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)performed the comprehensibility and testretest reliability tests.Comprehensibility score level of each presentation item was found to be moderate or high in three out of the five participants.Test-retest reliability showed that the single measure ICC of the total Yin-deficiency presentation items was 0.99(95%CI:0.89-0.99)and the median scores on the first and 14thdays were 17(IQR 6.5-27)and 21(IQR 6-29)(P=0.144)respectively.The single measure ICC of the total Yang-deficiency presentation items was 0.88(95%CI:0.79-0.99)and the median scores on the first and 14th days were 10(IQR 6-18)and 14(IQR 7-23)(P=0.144)respectively.The results of a descriptive correlation study on 140 survey participants with T2DM using the YY-AQ showed that internal consistency of the total Yin-deficiency and Yang-deficiency presentation items was satisfactory,with Cronbach’sαof 0.79 and 0.78respectively.CONCLUSION:The YY-AQ will be tested further for comprehensibility,test-retest and internal consistency reliabilities,scoring system validity,construct validity,convergent and discriminant validities,responsiveness and predictive validity. | Yee Chi Peggy Wong Mei Che Samantha | 2015 | World Journal of Diabetes2015，6，11： | 1 |
