4Pore structure prediction of coal-based microfiltration carbon membranes显示文摘This paper presents a method that is capable of predicting pore structure of coal-based microfiltration carbon membranes. The tubular carbon membranes are prepared from coal samples with different particle size and distribution by using the extrusion method. According to the relationship between properties of coal samples (particle size and distribution) and pore structure parameters of coal-based carbon membranes, the experiential equations of average pore size and porosity are concluded, and the change law of pore size distribution curve is also summarized. The results show pore structure properties of coal-based carbon membranes can be exactly predicted for different separation requirements by adjusting coal particle size and distribution, which allows us to minimize cost and time consuming experiments in the development of coal-based microfiltration membranes.SONG ChengWen WANG TongHua QIU JieShan 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,13:1

11Flow cytometric analysis of DNA content for four commercially important crabs in China显示文摘The genome size(C-value) of an organism is referring to the DNA content of its non-replicated haploid chromosome complement,generally deduced from measuring somatic diploid nuclei.We presented genome size(C-value) data obtained by flow cytometry for four commercially important crabs(Portunus trituberculatus,Charybdis japonica,Scylla paramamosain,and Eriocheir sinensis) common in the coast of China.Gallus domesticus(2C=2.5 pg) was used as the internal standard.The results showed that the C-value for P.trituberculatus,C.japonica,S.paramamosain,and E.sinensis were(2.31±0.01) pg,(2.33±0.03) pg,(1.64±0.02) pg,and(2.29±0.03) pg,respectively.The C-value of P.trituberculatus,C.japonica and S.paramamosain were reported for the first time.The data represented by the four species indicated that they had lower DNA contents than average DNA values in crustaceans((4.99±0.48) pg),and three of the four values were very similar if not identical.The results provide useful data for future studies in the fields of biodiversity,species conservation,and phylogeny of these commercial crabs.They will also be helpful in instructing the hybridization breeding program and estimating the cost of the whole genome sequencing project.LIU Lei CUI Zhaoxia SONG Chengwen LIU Yuan HUI Min WANG Chunlin 2016Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,6:1

19A Cell-Anchored and Self-Calibrated DNA Nanoplatform for in Situ Imaging and Quantification of Endogenous MicroRNA in Live Cells:Introducing Two Controls to Normalize the Sensing Signals显示文摘Quantifying the microRNAs(miRNAs)levels in living cells,while essential for the study of fundamental biology and medical diagnostics,has barely been achieved due to insufficient probe delivery and unquantifiable signals.We report a cell-anchored and self-calibrated DNA nanoplatform,a cholesterol-headed DNA nanowire that is capable of efficiently delivering to various cells and simultaneously detecting two target miRNAs.One miRNA target can be utilized as an endogenous control against cell-to-cell variations.Moreover,the photocleavable linkers inserted in the nanostructures allow us to precisely regulate the probe structure and fluorescence signaling at the desired time and location in vivo.As a second control,the maximum fluorescence can be elicited by UV light,which further facilitates the normalization of the absolute fluorescence signal.With two introduced internal controls,the maximum fluorescence and endogenous control gene,this approach displays excellent stability and self-calibration performance,effectively avoiding the interference from operating conditions and cellto-cell variations,such as the laser powers and intracellular probe concentrations.Importantly,this design is capable of unifying the output signal intensity between in vitro test and cell imaging,making the in vitro linear calibration curve appropriate for the quantification of miRNA expression in living cells.Wenjuan Song Zhi-Ling Song Qian Li Chengwen Shang Qiqi Chao Xingfu Liu Rongmei Kong Gao-Chao Fan Xiliang Luo 2023CCS Chemistry2023,5,1:0
20Disruption of the autism-related gene Pak1 causes stereocilia disorganization,hair cell loss,and deafness in mice显示文摘Several clinical studies have reported that hearing loss is correlated with autism in children.However,little is known about the underlying mechanism between hearing loss and autism.p21-activated kinases(PAKs)are a family of serine/threonine kinases that can be activated by multiple signaling molecules,particularly the Rho family of small GTPases.Previous studies have shown that Pak1 mutations are associated with autism.In the present study,we take advantage of Pak1 knockout(Pak1a/a)mice to investigate the role of PAK1 in hearing function.We find that PAK1 is highly expressed in the postnatal mouse cochlea and that PAK1 deficiency leads to hair cell(HC)apoptosis and severe hearing loss.Further investigation indicates that PAK1 deficiency downregulates the phosphorylation of cofilin and ezrin-radixin-moesin and the expression of b II-spectrin,which further decreases the HC synapse density in the basal turn of cochlea and disorganized the HC stereocilia in all three turns of cochlea in Pak1à/àmice.Overall,our work demonstrates that the autism-related gene Pak1 plays a crucial role in hearing function.As the first candidate gene linking autism and hearing loss,Pak1 may serve as a potential target for the clinical diagnosis of autism-related hearing loss.Cheng Cheng Yilin Hou Zhonghong Zhang Yanfei Wang Ling Lu Liyan Zhang Pei Jiang Song Gao Qiaojun Fang Chengwen Zhu Junyan Gao Xufeng Liu Wei Xie Zhengping Jia Zhigang Xu Xia Gao Renjie Chai 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,4:0
