1Comparative effect of electroacupuncture and moxibustion on the expression of substance P and vasoactive intestinal peptide in patients with irritable bowel syndrome显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To compare the impacts of electroacupuncture(EA) and moxibustion(Mox) on the primary gastrointestinal symptoms and the expressions of colonic mucosa-associated neuropeptide substance P(SP) and vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP)in patients with either diarrhea-predominant or constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D and IBS-C,respectively).METHODS: Eighty-five IBS patients were randomly allocated to the EA and Mox groups. Zusanli(ST 36)and Shangjuxu(ST 37) were selected as acupoints for electroacupuncture or warm moxibustion treatment once a day for 14 consecutive days. Before and after the treatment sessions,a Visual Analog Pain Scale and the Bristol Stool Form Scale were used to evaluate gastrointestinal symptoms. There were four dropout cases,leaving 81 participants(41 with IBS-D and 40 with IBS-C) who volunteered to undergo colonoscopy before and after the treatment sessions. During colonoscopy,sigmoid mucosa were collected to detect SP and VIP expression using immunohistochemistry assay.RESULTS: Both EA and Mox treatments were effective at relieving abdominal pain in IBS-D and IBS-C patients. However,Mox was more effective at reducing diarrhea in IBS-D patients,whereas EA was more effective at improving constipation in IBS-C patients. 2Substance P-modified human serum albumin nanoparticles loaded with paclitaxel for targeted therapy of glioma显示文摘The blood–brain barrier(BBB) and the poor ability of many drugs to cross that barrier greatly limits the efficacy of chemotherapies for glioblastoma multiforme(GBM). The present study exploits albumin as drug delivery vehicle to promote the chemotherapeutic efficacy of paclitaxel(PTX) by improving the stability and targeting efficiency of PTX/albumin nanoparticles(NPs). Here we characterize PTX-loaded human serum albumin(HSA) NPs stabilized with intramolecular disulfide bonds and modified with substance P(SP) peptide as the targeting ligand. The fabricated SP-HSA-PTX NPs exhibited satisfactory drug-loading content(7.89%) and entrapment efficiency(85.7%) with a spherical structure(about 150 nm) and zeta potential of -12.0 mV. The in vitro drug release from SP-HSA-PTX NPs occurred in a redox-responsive manner. 3MCP-1-induced ERK/GSK-3β/Snail signaling facilitates the epithelial-mesenchymal transition and promotes the migration of MCF-7 human breast carcinoma cells显示文摘Monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1)is a chemotactic cytokine that can bind to its receptor cysteine-cysteine chemokine receptor 2(CCR2)and plays an important role in breast cancer cell metastasis.However,the molecular mechanisms underlying MCP-1-induced alterations in cellular functions during tumor progression are poorly understood.Here,we showed that MCP-1 stimulated the epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)and induced the tumorigenesis of breast cancer cells by downregulating E-cadherin,upregulating vimentin and fibronectin,activating matrix metallopeptidase-2(MMP-2),and promoting migration and invasion.Moreover,MCP-1 treatment reduced glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β)activity via the MEK/ERK-mediated phosphorylation of serine-9 in MCF-7 cells.The inhibition of MEK/ERK by U0126 attenuated the MCP-1-induced phosphorylation of GSK-3βand decreased the expression of Snail,an EMT-related transcription factor,leading to the inhibition of MCF-7 cell migration and invasion.Inactivation of GSK-3βby LiCl(lithium chloride)treatment notably increased MMP-2 activity,vascular endothelial growth factor expression and EMT of MCF-7 cells.These findings revealed that MCP-1-induced EMT and migration are mediated by the ERK/GSK-3β/Snail pathway,and identified a potential novel target for therapeutic intervention in breast cancer.Shun Li Juan Lu Yu Chen Niya Xiong Li Li Jing Zhang Hong Yang Chunhui Wu Hongjuan Zeng Yiyao Liu 2017Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,7:14
4The Genesis Mechanism of the Mantle Fluid Action and Evolution in the Ore-Forming Process: A Case Study of the Laowangzhai Gold Deposit in Yunnan, China显示文摘Based on petrological studies of the wall rocks, mineralizing rocks, ores and veins from the Laowangzhai gold deposit, it is discovered that along with the development of silication, carbonation and sulfidation, a kind of black opaque ultra-microlite material runs through the spaces between grains, fissures and cleavages. Under observations of the electron microprobe, scanning electronic microscopy and energy spectrum, this kind of ultra-microlite material is confirmed to consist of ultra microcrystalline quartz, silicate, sulfides and carbonates, as well as rutile, scheelite and specularite (magnetite), showing characters of liquation by the analyses of SEM and energy spectrum. The coexistence of immiscibility and precipitating co-crystallization strongly suggests that the mineralizing fluid changed from the melt to the hydrothermal fluid. Combined with the element geochemical researches, it is realized that the ultra-microlite aggregate is the direct relics of the mantle fluid behaving like a melt and supercritical fluid, which goes along with the mantle-derived magma and will escape from the magma body at a proper time. 5Nanoimprint lithography for the manufacturing of flexible electronics显示文摘Flexible electronics have received considerable attention in academies and industries for their promising applications in enormous fields, such as flexible displays, wearable sensors, artificial skins, and flexible energy devices. Challenges remain in developing a flexible and scalable manufacturing method to facilitate the fabrication of multi-functional structures in a flexible electronic system. Nanoimprint lithography is a high resolution and low-cost approach to fabricate nanostructures over a large area. This paper reviews recent progress of nanoimprint lithography and its applications in flexible electronics. The basic principles, classification, research focus, and critical issues of nanoimprint lithography are elaborated. Then, the advantages of nanoimprint lithography are demonstrated in several typical applications related to flexible electronics, including conductive films, optoelectronic devices, flexible sensors, energy harvesting and storage devices, and bioinspired electronic devices. 6Observational responses of stratospheric sudden warming to blocking highs and its feedbacks on the troposphere显示文摘The influences of tropospheric blocking high on the stratospheric sudden warming (SSW) and the SSW-induced feedback on the lower atmosphere are analyzed with NCEP (National Center for Environmental Prediction) 2 reanalysis data. Daily mean data from 1979 to 2010 are used to perform statistical and dynamical analyses. According to different distribution features of polar vortex, which can be ascribed to different activities of blocking highs, we have obtained two warming patterns in vortex splitting and displacement patterns. For vortex splitting events, in the Eurasian-North American (ENA) paratype, with disturbances of Atlantic and Aleutian blocking highs, polar vortex is split into two parts that locate at Eurasian and North American continents respectively, while in the Atlantic-East Asian (AEA) paratype, two low-pressure centers derived from the split vortex are situated in the Atlantic and East Asian regions, and two blocking systems occurring in the Urals and North American areas precede these splitting processes. For vortex displacement events, in the Aleutian-Intrusion (AI) paratype, the polar vortex is displaced to the west European and Atlantic areas by the intrusive Aleutian high and this pattern always corresponds to the blocking events occurring in the Pacific basin only. Similarly, the vortex is pushed to the west Eurasian continent by the intrusive North American high-pressure system in the North American-Intrusion (NAI) paratype, which is closely related to the blocking over these areas. The second subject of the research is that whether the anomalous stratospheric signals can be propagated to the lower atmosphere, which is depended on the intensity, duration and position of the disturbed vortex. 8The quasi-biennial and semi-annual oscillation features of tropical O_3, NO_2, and NO_3 revealed by GOMOS satellite observations for 2002-2008显示文摘The quasi-biennial oscillation (QBO) and semi-annual oscillation (SAO) characteristics of O3, NO2, and NO3 from 2002 to 2008 were analyzed using Global Ozone Monitoring by Occultation of Stars (GOMOS) satellite observations. From investigations of the vertical and latitudinal structures of interannual anomalies for O3 and the vertical velocity of the residual circulation (w-star), we conclude that dynamic transport is the principal factor controlling the QBO pattern of O3. Under the influence of vertical transport, the QBO signals of O3 originate in the middle stratosphere and propagate downward along with the wstar anomalies over the equator. The residual circulation has a significant role in tropical regions, regardless of altitude, while in extratropical regions, dynamic effects are important in some years in the lower stratosphere. In the middle stratosphere, dynamic transport is most efficient in the Southern Hemisphere. We also analyzed NO2 anomalies and found that their QBO pattern was deep and sta- tionary in the middle and upper stratosphere over the equator. This was due to the large depth over which w-star was anomalous. The latitudinal structure of NO2 was asymmetric in extratropical areas in the middle stratosphere, but in the upper layers, the QBO pattern and dynamic influences were only observed in tropical zones. The interannual anomalies of NO3 had an apparent SAO pattern in the tropical upper stratosphere because of different dynamic and chemical effects in different SAO phases. 9The petrographical and isotope geochemical tracers for deep ore-forming fluids from the Laowangzhai gold depoist in the northern part of the Ailao Mountains显示文摘Based on the petrological studies of wall rocks, mineralized rocks, ores and veins from the Laowangzhai gold deposit, it is discovered that with the development of silification, carbonation and sulfidation, a kind of black opaque ultracrystalline material runs through the space between grains and amphibole cleavages, which is the product of fast condensing consolidation with magma mantle fluids turning into hydrothermal crustal fluids in the process of mineralization and alteration. It is thought that the water in ore-forming fluids mainly derived from magmatic water through research on H-O isotopes, and C as well as S isotopic compositions, has clear mantle-derived characteristics, and rock (mine) stones contain high 87Sr/86 Sr ratios, low 143Nd/144 Nd ratios and high 206Pb/204 Pb ratios, which also reflects the ore-forming fluids were derived from the metasomatically enriched mantle. 10Automatic segmentation of foveal avascular zone based on adaptive watershed algorithm in retinal optical coherence tomography angiography images显示文摘The size and shape of the foveal avascular zone(FAZ)have a strong positive correlation with several vision-threatening ret inovascular diseases.The identification,segmentation and analysis of FAZ are of great significance to clinical diagnosis and treatment.We presented an adaptive watershed algorithm to automatically extract F AZ from retinal optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)images.For the traditional watershed algorithm,'over-segmentation'is the most common problem.FAZ is often incorrectly divided into multiple regions by redundant'dams'.This paper analyzed the relationship between the'dams'length and the maximum inscribed circle radius of FAZ,and proposed an adaptive watershed algorithm to solve the problem of'over-segmentation'.Here,132 healthy retinal images and 50 diabetic retinopathy(DR)images were used to verify the accuracy and stability of the algorithm.Three ophthal-mologists were invited to make quan titative and qualitative evaluations on the segmentation results of this algorithm.The quantitative evaluation results show that the correlation coffi-cients between the automatic and manual segmentation results are 0.945(in healthy subjects)and 0.927(in DR patients),respectively.For qualitative evaluation,the percentages of'perfect segmentation'(score of 3)and'good segmentation'(score of 2)are 99.4%(in healthy subjects)and 98.7%(in DR patients),respectively.This work promotes the application of watershed algorithm in FAZ segmentation,making it a useful tool for analyzing and diagnosing eye diseases.Jian Liu Shixin Yan Nan Lu Dongni Yang Chunhui Fan Hongyu Lv Shuanglian Wang in Zhu Yuqian Zhao Yi Wang Zhenhe Ma Yao Yu 2022Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2022,15,1:3
11Saturable and reverse saturable absorption in molybdenum disulfide dispersion and film by defect engineering显示文摘Understanding and controlling defect in two-dimensional materials is important for both linear and nonlinear optoelectronic devices,especially in terms of tuning nonlinear optical absorption.Taking advantage of an atomic defect formed easily by smaller size,molybdenum disulfide nanosheet is prepared successfully with a different size by gradient centrifugation.Interestingly,size-dependent sulfur vacancies are observed by high-resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,atomic force microscopy,and transmission electron microscopy.The defect effect on nonlinear absorption is investigated by Z-scan measurement at the wavelength of 800 nm.The results suggest the transition from saturable absorption to reverse saturable absorption can be observed in both dispersions and films.First principle calculations suggest that sulfur vacancies act as the trap state to capture the excited electrons.Moreover,an energy-level model with the trap state is put forward to explain the role of the sulfur vacancy defect in nonlinear optical absorption.The results suggest that saturable absorption and reverse saturable absorption originate from the competition between the excited,defect state and ground state absorption.Our finding provides a way to tune the nonlinear optical performance of optoelectronic devices by defect engineering.CHUNHUI LU HONGWEN XUAN YIXUAN ZHOU XINLONG XU QIYI ZHAO AND JINTAO BAI 2020Photonics Research2020,8,9:3
12Deep-blue organic light-emitting diodes based on a doublet d-f transition cerium(Ⅲ) complex with 100% exciton utilization efficiency显示文摘Compared to red and green organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs),blue OLEDs are still the bottleneck due to the lack of efficient emitters with simultaneous high exciton utilization efficiency(EUE)and short excited-state lifetime.Different from the fluorescence,phosphorescence,thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF),and organic radical materials traditionally used in OLEDs,we demonstrate herein a new type of emitter,cerium(Ⅲ)complex Ce-1 with spin-allowed and parity-allowed d-f transition of the centre Ce^(3+) ion.The compound exhibits a high EUE up to 100% in OLEDs and a short excited-state lifetime of 42 ns,which is considerably faster than that achieved in efficient phosphorescence and TADF emitters.The optimized OLEDs show an average maximum external quantum efficiency(EQE)of 12.4% and Commission Internationale de L’Eclairage(CIE)coordinates of(0.146,0.078).Liding Wang Zifeng Zhao Ge Zhan Huayi Fang Hannan Yang Tianyu Huang Yuewei Zhang Nan Jiang Lian Duan Zhiwei Liu Zuqiang Bian Zhenghong Lu Chunhui Huang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:3

14Interdecadal Variability of Summer Precipitation in Northwest China and Associated Atmospheric Circulation Changes显示文摘Daily precipitation data from 149 rain gauge stations in China and NCEP-NCAR reanalysis data during 1961-2018are used to investigate the interdecadal variability of summer precipitation in Northwest China and related causes.The results suggest that,on the interdecadal timescale,Northwest China shifts into a rainy period from the year 1987,with an increase in the precipitation amount and intensity;an increase in the probability of moderate rain,heavy rain,torrential rain,and extremely heavy rain;and a decrease in the probability of light rain.More than 60%of the increase in precipitation can be attributed to rainfall with intensity above the grade of heavy rain.The associated interdecadal variability of atmospheric circulations over midlatitude Eurasia in summer is examined and it is found that the interdecadal variability is mainly characterized by the Silk Road pattern(SRP),with a cyclonic circulation anomaly and an anticyclonic circulation anomaly over central Asia and Mongolia,respectively;enhanced ascending motion and atmospheric instability in Northwest China;and strengthened easterly winds caused by the Mongolian anticyclonic anomaly along the northern boundary of the Tibetan Plateau.On the south side of the Mongolian anticyclone,the water vapor transported from the Pacific and Indian Oceans as well as the South China Sea to Northwest China by easterly winds increases significantly,providing the main water vapor source for the increase in precipitation in Northwest China on the interdecadal timescale.The transition of the Atlantic multidecadal oscillation to a positive phase may be the main cause of the interdecadal transition of the SRP to a positive phase,resulting in the interdecadal increase in summer precipitation in Northwest China.Tong XUE Yihui DING Chunhui LU 2022Journal of Meteorological Research2022,36,6:2
15Contribution of Global Warming and Atmospheric Circulation to the Hottest Spring in Eastern China in 2018显示文摘The spring of 2018 was the hottest on record since 1951 over eastern China based on station observations,being 2.5°C higher than the 1961−90 mean and with more than 900 stations reaching the record spring mean temperature.This event exerted serious impacts in the region on agriculture,plant phenology,electricity transmission systems,and human health.In this paper,the contributions of human-induced climate change and anomalous anticyclonic circulation to this event are investigated using the newly homogenized observations and updated Met Office Hadley Centre system for attribution of extreme events,as well as CanESM2(Second Generation Canadian Earth System Model)simulations.Results indicate that both anthropogenic influences and anomalous anticyclonic circulation played significant roles in increasing the probability of the 2018 hottest spring.Quantitative estimates of the probability ratio show that anthropogenic forcing may have increased the chance of this event by ten-fold,while the anomalous circulation increased it by approximately two-fold.The persistent anomalous anticyclonic circulation located on the north side of China blocked the air with lower temperature from high latitudes into eastern China.Without anthropogenic forcing or without the anomalous circulation in northern China,the occurrence probability of the extreme warm spring is significantly reduced.Chunhui LU Ying SUN Nikolaos CHRISTIDIS Peter ASTOTT 2020Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,11:2
16Influences of the 11-yr Sunspot Cycle and Polar Vortex Oscillation on Observed Winter Temperature Variations in China显示文摘Using the NCEP-2 reanalysis data in 1979-2015, we analyze variations in the coupled stratosphere-troposphere system and attribute them to the polar vortex oscillation(PVO) and the 11-yr sunspot cycle(SC). Subsequently, influences of PVO and SC on the near-ground temperature and extreme temperatures are diagnosed based on observations at 2419 surface stations in China over the same period. Empirical Orthogonal Function(EOF) analysis of geopotential height(GH) anomalies indicates that the first and second EOF modes together can explain nearly 50% of the total variance and they have different driving sources, active periods, and regions. The first EOF mode mainly represents variation characteristics of the polar vortex, and its active periods appear in late winter. It is found that a weakened polar vortex(larger amplitude in the positive time series of the first mode) corresponds to lower daily mean, minimum, and maximum temperatures and more frequent cold nights and days. This cooling effect mainly occur in northeastern China. The second EOF mode is closely related to the SC, and its major active periods are late autumn and early winter. The results reveal that strong solar activity(larger amplitude in the positive time series of the second mode) leads to cooling effects in northern China through accelerating seasonal transformation of the stratospheric circulation and enhancing intensity of the subtropical westerly jet in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere. The near-ground temperature is lower than usual, especially for daily mean and minimum temperatures. The number of warm nights and days is significantly reduced, and cold nights and days become more frequent. 17A novel as-cast precipitation-strengthened Al_(0.5)V_(0.1)FeCrMnNi_(0.9) high-entropy alloy with high strength and plasticity显示文摘A novel Al_(0.5)V_(0.1)FeCrMnNi_(0.9) high-entropy alloy was designed to achieve enhanced strength and plasticity. The as-cast Al_(0.5)V_(0.1)FeCrMnNi_(0.9) alloy shows a typical dendritic microstructure consisting of a body-centered cubic-structured matrix phase and a B2-structured nanoprecipitate phase. Nanoprecipitates are homogeneous and dispersed in the matrix. The as-cast Al_(0.5)V_(0.1)FeCrMnNi_(0.9) alloy exhibits a compressive yield strength of 1.104 GPa, a fracture strength of 2.926 GPa, and a fracture strain of 45.7%. The product of strength and plasticity of this alloy is 133.72 GPa%, which is superior to that of most of the reported high-entropy alloys. 19Optimization of Out-of-Plane Vibration Energy Harvesters Employing Electret显示文摘This paper investigated the dependence of out-of-plane electret-based vibration energy harvesters’output power,frequency bandwidth,and resonance frequency on surface charge density and load resistance.As the external acceleration amplitude and electret size were held constant,the following results are predicted by the numerical investigation:(1)An optimum value exists in the surface charge density to maximize the output power.As the surface charge density is increasing,electrostatic forces are enhanced,which emphasizes that the soft spring effect widens the frequency bandwidth and lowers the resonance frequency.(2)Different surface charge densities correspond to different optimum initial air gaps,resonance frequency,and optimum load resistance.(3)With the attenuation of the surface potential,the output power,frequency drift,and frequency bandwidth decreased.(4)An optimum value exists in the load resistance to maximize the output power.As the load resistance is decreasing,electrostatic force is enhanced,which lowers the resonance frequency.(5)A maximum frequency bandwidth exists with further load resistance increasing,and the initial air gap is smaller,the greater the frequency bandwidth.Chunhui Gao Shiqiao Gao Haipeng Liu Lei Jin Junhu Lu 2017Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2017,26,3:1
