1Climatic Effects of Air Pollutants over China:A Review显示文摘Tropospheric ozone(O3) and aerosols are major air pollutants in the atmosphere. They have also made significant contributions to radiative forcing of climate since preindustrial times. With its rapid economic development, concentrations of air pollutants are relatively high in China; hence, quantifying the role of air pollutants in China in regional climate change is especially important. This review summarizes existing knowledge with regard to impacts of air pollutants on climate change in China and defines critical gaps needed to reduce the associated uncertainties. Measured monthly, seasonal, and annual mean surface-layer concentrations of O3 and aerosols over China are compiled in this work, with the aim to show the magnitude of concentrations of O3 and aerosols over China and to provide datasets for evaluation of model results in future studies. Ground-based and satellite measurements of O3 column burden and aerosol optical properties, as well as model estimates of radiative forcing by tropospheric O3 and aerosols are summarized. We also review regional and global modeling studies that have investigated climate change driven by tropospheric O3and/or aerosols in China; the predicted sign and magnitude of the responses in temperature and precipitation to O3/aerosol forcings are presented. 2Upper mantle anisotropy and crust-mantle deformation pattern beneath the Chinese mainland显示文摘Over the past 10 years,the number of broadband seismic stations in China has increased significantly.The broadband seismic records contain information about shear-wave splitting which plays an important role in revealing the upper mantle anisotropy in the Chinese mainland.Based on teleseismic SKS and SKKS phases recorded in the seismic stations,we used the analytical method of minimum transverse energy to determine the fast wave polarization direction and delay time of shear-wave splitting.We also collected results of shear-wave splitting in China and the surrounding regions from previously published papers.From the combined dataset we formed a shear-wave splitting dataset containing 1020 parameter pairs.These splitting parameters reveal the complexity of the upper mantle anisotropy image.Our statistical analysis indicates stronger upper mantle anisotropy in the Chinese mainland,with an average shear-wave time delay of 0.95 s;the anisotropy in the western region is slightly larger(1.01 s)than in the eastern region(0.92 s).On a larger scale,the SKS splitting and surface deformation data in the Tibetan Plateau and the Tianshan region jointly support the lithospheric deformation mode,i.e.the crust-lithospheric mantle coherent deformation.In eastern China,the average fast-wave direction is approximately parallel to the direction of the absolute plate motion;thus,the upper mantle anisotropy can be attributed to the asthenospheric flow.The area from the Ordos block to the Sichuan Basin in central China is the transition zone of deformation modes between the east and the west regions,where the anisotropy images are more complicated,exhibiting'fossil'anisotropy and/or two-layer anisotropy.The collision between the Indian Plate and the Eurasian Plate is the main factor of upper mantle anisotropy in the western region of the Chinese mainland,while the upper mantle anisotropy in the eastern region is related to the subduction of the Pacific Plate and the Philippine Sea Plate beneath the Eurasian Plate.WANG ChunYong CHANG LiJun DING ZhiFeng LIU QiongLin LIAO WuLin Lucy M FLESCH 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,1:18
3Total salvianolic acid improves ischemia-reperfusion-induced microcirculatory disturbance in rat mesentery显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effect of total salvianolic acid(TSA) on ischemia-reperfusion(I/R)-induced rat mesenteric microcirculatory dysfunctions.METHODS:Male Wistar rats were randomly distributed into 5 groups(n = 6 each):Sham group and I/R group(infused with saline),TSA group,TSA + I/R group and I/R + TSA group(infused with TSA,5 mg/kg per hour).Mesenteric I/R were conducted by a ligation of the mesenteric artery and vein(10 min) and subsequent release of the occlusion.TSA was continuously infused either starting from 10 min before the ischemia or 10 min after reperfusion.Changes in mesenteric microcirculatory variables,including diameter of venule,velocity of red blood cells in venule,leukocyte adhesion,free radicals released from venule,albumin leakage and mast cell degranulation,were observed through an inverted intravital microscope.Meanwhile,the expression of adhesion molecules CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils was evaluated by flow cytometry.Ultrastructural evidence of mesenteric venules damage was assessed after microcirculation observation.RESULTS:I/R led to multiple responses in mesenteric post-capillary venules,including a significant increase in the adhesion of leukocytes,production of oxygen radicals in the venular wall,albumin efflux and enhanced mast cell degranulation in vivo.All the I/R-induced manifestations were significantly reduced by pre-or post-treatment with TSA,with the exception that the I/R-induced increase in mast cell degranulation was inhibited only by pre-treatment with TSA.Moreover,preor post-treatment with TSA significantly attenuated the expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils,reducing the increase in the number of caveolae in the endothelial cells of mesentery post-capillary venules induced by I/R.CONCLUSION:The results demonstrated that TSA protects from and ameliorates the microcirculation disturbance induced by I/R,which was associated with TSA inhibiting the production of oxygen-free radicals in the venular wall and the expression of CD11b/CD18 on neutrophils.Ming-Xia Wang Yu-Ying Liu Bai-He Hu Xiao-Hong Wei Xin Chang Kai Sun Jing-Yu Fan Fu-Long Liao ChuanShe Wang Jun Zheng Jing-Yan Han Ming-Xia Wang 2010World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,42:15
4Cloning of a gene-edited macaque monkey by somatic cell nuclear transfer显示文摘Cloning of macaque monkeys by somatic cell nucleus transfer(SCNT) allows the generation of monkeys with uniform genetic backgrounds that are useful for the development of non-human primate models of human diseases. Here, we report the feasibility of this approach by SCNT of fibroblasts from a macaque monkey(Macaca fascicularis), in which a core circadian transcription factor BMAL1 was knocked out by clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat/Cas9 gene editing(see accompanying paper).Out of 325 SCNT embryos transferred into 65 surrogate monkeys, we cloned five macaque monkeys with BMAL1 mutations in both alleles without mosaicism, with nuclear genes identical to that of the fibroblast donor monkey. Further peripheral blood m RNA analysis confirmed the complete absence of the wild-type BMAL1 transcript. 5Changing Proportions of HIV-1 Subtypes and Transmitted Drug Resistance Among Newly Diagnosed HIV/AIDS Individuals—China,2015 and 2018显示文摘Introduction:With the expansion of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)antiretroviral therapy(ART),HIV drug resistance is becoming more and more serious.This study describes the changing prevalence of HIV-1 subtypes and transmitted drug resistance(TDR)among newly diagnosed individuals in China,2015 and 2018.Methods:A total of 8,980 individuals in 2015 and 2018 from 31 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)were enrolled in this study.Viral RNAs were amplified and sequenced using an in-house polymerase chain reaction(PCR)protocol.The Stanford HIV Drug Resistance Database(HIVdb)was used to predict susceptibility to 12 antiretroviral drugs.Results:The prevalence of TDR was not significantly increased over time.The prevalence of TDR was 3.8%and 4.4%in 2015 and 2018,respectively(P=0.13).The prevalence of CRF55_01B increased from 2.3%in 2015 to 3.9%in 2018(P<0.001).The drug resistance prevalence of nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors(NNRTI)increased from 2.4%in 2015 to 3.3%in 2018(P<0.01).The prevalence of E138(P<0.001),H221(P=0.03),and V179(P<0.001)mutations increased from 0.30%,0.09%,and 0.70%in 2015 to 1.10%,0.30%,and 1.70%in 2018,respectively.Conclusions:HIV drug resistance affects the effect of antiretroviral treatment,so the monitoring of HIV TDR should be strengthened to control the transmission of HIV drug resistance.Jingjing Hao Shan Zheng Mengze Gan Aobo Dong Ruihua Kang Miaomiao Li Shuai Zhao Jing Hu Chang Song Lingjie Liao Yi Feng Yiming Shao Yuhua Ruan Hui Xing 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,53:13
6On-treatment monitoring of liver fibrosis with serum hepatitis B core-related antigen in chronic hepatitis B显示文摘BACKGROUND Non-invasive evaluation for liver fibrosis is clinically important,especially in patients with undetectable hepatitis B virus(HBV)DNA treated with nucleoside analogs.AIM To clarify the monitoring power of hepatitis B core-related antigen(HBcrAg)for hepatic histologic changes in patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB)treated with entecavir.METHODS This prospective multicenter study used multiple ordinal and multivariate logistics regression analysis to assess variables associated with Ishak fibrosis score and regression for fibrosis regression,respectively,in 403 CHB patients,including 374 with entecavir for 72 weeks(291 underwent paired liver biopsy)and 29 as controls.RESULTS Level of HBcrAg correlated negatively with liver fibrosis staging(γ=-0.357,P<0.001)in hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg)-positive patients,and positively with liver fibrosis staging in HBeAg-negative patients.Higher HBcrAg concentration was associated with younger age,HBeAg positive status,high HBV DNA loads,high level of hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg)and higher necroinflammation,but not with HBV genotype.Serum concentration of HBcrAg,basal core promoter/precore(BCP/PC)mutant,quantitation of HBsAg(qHBsAg)and platelet counts were independently associated with Ishak fibrosis score on multiple ordinal regression.HBV DNA was undetectable in 88.37%of patients treated with entecavir at week 72,while their level of HBcrAg was still detectable.A greater reduction in post-treatment HBcrAg concentration was associated with the regression of hepatic fibrosis and histological improvement.HBcrAg concentration>6.33 log IU/mL at baseline and logarithmic reduction>1.03 log IU/mL at week 72 were associated with a higher chance of regression of liver fibrosis and histological improvement,respectively.CONCLUSION HBcrAg level is associated with liver fibrosis progression.HBcrAg is an excellent monitor of hepatic histological changes,especially in CHB patients treated with nucleoside analogs.Xiu-Juan Chang Chao Sun Yan Chen Xiao-Dong Li Zu-Jiang Yu Zheng Dong Wen-Lin Bai Xiao-Dong Wang Zhi-Qin Li Da Chen Wen-Juan Du Hao Liao Qi-Yu Jiang Li-Jun Sun Yin-Yin Li Cui-Hong Zhang Dong-Ping Xu Yong-Ping Chen Qin Li Yong-Ping Yang 2019World Journal of Gastroenterology2019,25,32:12

8Cost-effectiveness analysis of population-based screening of hepatocellular carcinoma: Comparing ultrasonography with two-stage screening显示文摘AIM: To assess the cost-effectiveness of two populationbased hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) screening programs, two-stage biomarker-ultrasound method and mass screening using abdominal ultrasonography(AUS).METHODS: In this study, we applied a Markov decision model with a societal perspective and a lifetime horizon for the general population-based cohorts in an area with high HCC incidence, such as Taiwan. The accuracy of biomarkers and ultrasonography was estimated from published meta-analyses. The costs of surveillance, diagnosis, and treatment were based on a combination of published literature, Medicare payments, and medical expenditure at the National Taiwan University Hospital. The main outcome measure was cost per lifeyear gained with a 3% annual discount rate. RESULTS: The results show that the mass screening using AUS was associated with an incremental costeffectiveness ratio of USD39825 per life-year gained, whereas two-stage screening was associated with an incremental cost-effectiveness ratio of USD49733 per life-year gained, as compared with no screening. Screening programs with an initial screening age of 50 years old and biennial screening interval were the most cost-effective. These findings were sensitive to the costs of screening tools and the specificity of biomarker screening.CONCLUSION: Mass screening using AUS is more cost effective than two-stage biomarker-ultrasound screening. 9Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 10Selective laser melting(SLM)of CX stainless steel:Theoretical calculation,process optimization and strengthening mechanism显示文摘In the present work,selective laser melting(SLM)technology was utilized for manufacturing CX stainless steel samples under a series of laser parameters.The effect of laser linear energy density on the microstructure characteristics,phase distribution,crystallographic orientation and mechanical properties of these CX stainless steel samples were investigated theoretically and experimentally via scanning electron microscope(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)and transmission electron microscope(TEM).Based on the systematic study,the SLM CX stainless steel sample with best surface roughness(Ra=4.05±1.8μm)and relative density(Rd=99.72%±0.22%)under the optimal linear density(η=245 J/m)can be obtained.SLM CX stainless steel was primarily constituted by a large number of fine martensite(α’phase)structures(i.e.,cell structures,cellular dendrites and blocky grains)and a small quantity of austenite(γphase)structures.The pre ferred crystallographic orientation(i.e.,<111>direction)can be determined in the XZ plane of the SLM CX sample.Furthermore,under the optimal linear energy density,the good combinations with the highest ultimate tensile strength(UTS=1068.0%±5.9%)and the best total elongation(TE=15.70%±0.26%)of the SLM CX sample can be attained.Dislocation strengthening dominates the strengthening mechanism of the SLM CX sample in as-built state.Dongdong Dong Cheng Chang Hao Wang Xingchen Yan Wenyou Ma Min Liu Sihao Deng Julien Gardan Rodolphe Bolot Hanlin Liao 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,14:11
11Effects of recombinant retroviral vector mediated human insulin like growth factor-1 gene transfection on skeletal muscle growth in rat显示文摘Background This study transferred a recombinant gene encoding human insulin like growth factor-1 (hIGF-1) into modified primary skeletal myoblasts with a retroviral vector (pLgXSN ) and determined whether the hIGF-1 promoted growth of skeletal muscle in rat. Methods hIGF-1cDNA was amplified in vitro from normal human liver cells by using RT-PCR and cloned into plasmid vector pLgXSN. The recombinant vector pLghIGF-1SN and control vector pLgGFPSN were transfected into packaging cell PT67 and G418 was used to select positive colony. Myoblasts were infected with a high titre viral supernatant and transduction efficiency was evaluated as GFP expression. The expression of hIGF-1 mRNA in myoblasts was investigated by immunocytochemistry and RT-PCR. MTT assays detected the growth of myoblasts in vitro. Myoblasts transduced with pLghIGF-1SN were injected into hind limb muscles of 10-12 week male SD rats. Formed tissues were harvested 4 weeks later. Myocyte diameter, mean weight of hind limb and body were measured to evaluate the skeletal muscle growth. Results Recombinant retroviral plasmid vector pLghIGF-1SN was constructed successfully. The titre of the packaged recombinant retrovirus was 1×106 cfu/ml. The transfection rate of PT67 cells reached 100% after G418 screening. hIGF-1 expression was positive in myoblast-IGF-1. The proliferation rate of myoblast-IGF-1 in vitro was higher than GFP-myoblast or myoblast (P< 0.05). The mean weights of hind limb and body of rats injected myoblast-IGF-1 were higher than those of the rats injected with myoblast-GFP or myoblast (P< 0.05). Myocyte diameter had a significant increase in IGF-1 group compared to GFP group and myoblast group (P< 0.05). Conclusions The transfection of the human IGF-1 gene mediated by a retroviral vector can promote the growth of skeletal muscle in rats. 12Digitized Outcrop Geomodeling of Ramp Shoals and its Reservoirs: as an Example of Lower Triassic Feixianguan Formation of Eastern Sichuan Basin显示文摘Numerous hydrocarbon accumulations are found in ramp crest shoals worldwide and therefore this depositional setting has a high potential of being the hydrocarbon reservoir.In this paper,we combined digital outcrop geology and traditional geological mapping to build an outcrop-based geocellular model of the ramp-crest shoal complex of the Lower Triassic Feixianguan Formation in the Eastern Sichuan Basin.The outcrop model serves as an analogue for the subsurface reservoir of the Feixianguan Formation and illustrates the complexity of the lithofacies types,stratigraphic architecture,and reservoir heterogeneities at a scale below conventional subsurface data resolution.The studied ramp-crest shoal complex consists of thirteen types of lithofacies that can be grouped into three facies-groups corresponding to subtidal intraclastic shoal,sub-to inter-tidal oolitic shoal,and tidal flat depositional environments respectively.The stratigraphic architecture of the shoal complex shows mostly a strong progradation of the high energy facies associated with an overall decrease of accommodation space associated with relative sea level still stand.Two reservoir facies associations have been recognized.The first one consists of supratidal dolomudstone and upper intertidal partially dolomitized oolitic packstone with anhydrite or nodules.These facies were deposited above the high energy oolitic grainstones and occurs as thin-bedded and laterally continuous layers,characterized by high porosity and low permeability.The second reservoir facies association is composed of intertidal crystalline dolomite and subtidal intraclastic bindstone that occurs stratigraphically below the oolitic grainstones.These deposits consist of massive laterally discontinuously beds,and are characterized by high porosity and high permeability.Both types of reservoir facies tend to be stacked vertically and migrated laterally with the progradation of the shoal complex.The construction of the outcrop-based 3D geological model provide a description and quantification of the facies distribution within a robust stratigraphic framework and the style and amount of reservoir heterogeneities associated with a ramp-crest shoal complex reservoir such as the one found in Lower Triassic Feixianguan Formation and Cambrian Longwangmiao Formation in Sichuan Basin or other ramp-crest reservoir worldwide.QIAO Zhanfeng SHEN Anjiang ZHENG Jianfeng Xavier JANSON CHANG Shaoying WANG Xiaofang CHEN Yana LIAO Yisha 2017Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,4:8
13Analysis of genetic diversity and population structure of Chinese yak breeds (Bos grunniens) using microsatellite markers显示文摘Nine Chinese yak breeds (Maiwa, Tianzhu White, Qinghai Plateau, Sibu, Zhongdian, Pali, Tibetan High Mountain, Jiulong, and Xin-jiang) and Gayal were analyzed by means of 16 microsatellite markers to determine the level of genetic variation within populations, genetic relationship between populations, and population structure for each breed. A total of 206 microsatellite alleles were observed. Mean F-statistics (0.056) for 9 yak breeds indicated that 94.4% of the genetic variation was observed within yak breeds and 5.6% of the genetic variation existed amongst breeds. The Neighbor-Joining phylogenetic tree was constructed based on Nei's standard genetic dis-tances and two clusters were obtained. The Gayal separated from the yaks far away and formed one cluster and 9 yak breeds were grouped together. The analysis of population structure for 9 yak breeds and the Gayal showed that they resulted in four clusters; one clus-ter includes yaks from Tibet Autonomous Region and Qinghai Province, one cluster combines Zhongdian, Maiwa, and Tianzhu White, and Jiulong and Xinjiang come into the third cluster. Pali was mainly in the first cluster (90%), Jiulong was mainly in the second cluster (87.1%), Zhongdian was primarily in the third cluster (83%), and the other yak breeds were distributed in two to three clusters. 15Cholesterol transport through the peroxisome-ER membrane contacts tethered by PI(4,5)P2 and extended synaptotagmins显示文摘Most mammalian cells take up cholesterol from low-density lipoproteins(LDLs) via receptor-mediated endocytosis.After reaching lysosomes,LDL-derived cholesterol continues to transport to downstream organelles including the ER for specific structural and functional needs.Peroxisomes are recently found to receive cholesterol from lysosomes through lysosomeperoxisome membrane contacts.However,whether and how cholesterol is conveyed from peroxisomes to the ER remain unknown.Here,by combining high-resolution microscopic analyses and in vitro reconstitution of highly purified organelles or artificial liposomes,we demonstrate that peroxisomes form membrane contacts with the ER through the interaction between peroxisomal PI(4,5)P2 and ER-resident extended synaptotagmin-1,2 and 3(E-Syts).Depletion of peroxisomal PI(4,5)P2 or ESyts markedly decreases peroxisome-ER membrane contacts and induces cholesterol accumulation in lysosomes.Furthermore,we show that cholesterol is delivered from 3H-labeled peroxisomes or PI(4,5)P2-containing liposomes to the ER in vitro,and that the presence of peroxisomes augments cholesterol transfer from lysosomes to the ER.Together,our study reveals a new cholesterol transport pathway along the lysosome-peroxisome-ER membrane contacts in the cell.Jian Xiao Jie Luo Ao Hu Ting Xiao Meixin Li Zekai Kong Luyi Jiang Zimu Zhou Yacheng Liao Chang Xie Beibei Chu Honghua Miao Boliang Li Xiongjie Shi Bao-Liang Song 2019Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,9:8
16Organic acid anions:An effective defensive weapon for plants against aluminum toxicity and phosphorus deficiency in acidic soils显示文摘Aluminum(Al) toxicity and phosphorous(P) deficiency are two major limiting factors for plant growth on acidic soils.Thus,the physiological mechanisms for Al tolerance and P acquisition have been intensively studied.A commonly observed trait is that plants have developed the ability to utilize organic acid anions(OAs;mainly malate,citrate and oxalate) to combat Al toxicity and P deficiency.OAs secreted by roots into the rhizosphere can externally chelate Al^(3+) and mobilize phosphate(Pi),while OAs synthesized in the cell can internally sequester Al^(3+) into the vacuole and release free Pi for metabolism.Molecular mechanisms involved in OA synthesis and transport have been described in detail.Ensuing genetic improvement for Al tolerance and P efficiency through increased OA exudation and/or synthesis in crops has been achieved by transgenic and marker-assisted breeding.This review mainly elucidates the crucial roles of OAs in plant Al tolerance and P efficiency through summarizing associated physiological mechanisms,molecular traits and genetic manipulation of crops.Zhi Chang Chen Hong Liao 2016Journal of Genetics and Genomics2016,43,11:7
17Effects of dietary leucine supplementation on the gene expression of mammalian target of rapamycin signaling pathway and intestinal development of broilers显示文摘This experiment was to investigate the effects of dietary leucine supplementation on the gene expression of mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR) signaling pathway and intestinal development of broilers. A total of 384 one-day-old broilers were randomly assigned into 4 treatments with 6 replicates(16 broilers per replicate). Broilers in these treatment groups were offered the following diets with 1.37,1.77,2.17 and2.57% of leucine. These diet treatments were named 1.37 TM, 1.77 TM, 2.17 TM, and 2.57 TM. The experiment lasted 21 days and all birds had free access to feed and water. Results indicated that there was no significant difference in body weight, average daily gain and average feed intake among all treatments(P > 0.05). The broiler duodenal villus height in 2.57 TM was the lowest, but the highest occurred in1.37 TM on d 7 and 14(P < 0.05). The villus height in the jejunum and ileum increased along with leucine level from 1.37 to 2.17%. The villus height of jejunum was significantly higher in 2.17 TM than in 1.37 TM on d 7 and 14, and the ratio of villus height to crypt depth(V:C) in the duodenum, jejunum and ileum increased significantly(P < 0.05) on d 21. The gene expression level of mTOR in the duodenum decreased with increasing leucine level and was higher in 1.37 TM than in 2.57 TM on d 7 and 14(P < 0.05). On d 14 and 21 of the trial, the expression of S6 K1 in the duodenum was higher in 1.37 TM than in 2.57 TM(P < 0.05), and the expression of mTOR, S6 K1 in the jejunum and ileum increased with increasing leucine level form 1.37 to 2.17%, whereas a significant difference occurred between 1.37 TM and 2.17 TM(P< 0.05).In conclusion, the addition of leucine fails to enhance the growth performance of broilers. However,leucine can improve intestinal development by enhancing villus height and V:C ratio in the jejunum and ileum. 18Diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune pancreatitis: experience with 100 patients显示文摘BACKGROUND: Autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is increasingly recognized as a unique subtype of pancreatitis. This study aimed to analyze the diagnosis and treatment of AIP patients from a tertiary care center in China.METHODS: One hundred patients with AIP who had been treated from January 2005 to December 2012 in our hospital were enrolled in this study. We retrospectively reviewed the data of clinical manifestations, laboratory tests, imaging examinations, pathological examinations, treatment and outcomes of the patients.RESULTS: The median age of the patients at onset was 57 years (range 23-82) with a male to female ratio of 8.1:1. The common manifestations of the patients included obstructive jaundice (49 patients, 49.0%), abdominal pain (30, 30.0%), and acute pancreatitis (11, 11.0%). Biliary involvement was one of the most extrapancreatic manifestations (64, 64.0%). Fifty-six (56.0%) and 43 (43.0%) patients were classified into focaltype and diffuse-type respectively according to the imaging examinations. The levels of serum Ig G and Ig G4 were elevated in 69.4% (43/62) and 92.0% (69/75) patients. Pathological analysis of specimens from 27 patients supported the diagnosis of lymphoplasmacytic sclerosing pancreatitis, and marked (>10 cells/HPF) Ig G4 positive cells were found in 20 (74.1%) patients.Steroid treatment and surgery as the main initial treatments were given to 41 (41.0%) and 28 (28.0%) patients, respectively. The remission rate after the initial treatment was 85.0%. Steroid was given as the treatment after relapse in most of the patients and the total remission rate at the end of follow-up was 96.0%.CONCLUSIONS: Clinical manifestations, laboratory tests, imaging and pathology examinations in combination could increase the diagnostic accuracy of AIP. 19Anthropogenic Direct Radiative Forcing of Tropospheric Ozone and Aerosols in 1850 and 2000 Estimated with IPCC AR5 Emissions Inventories显示文摘This study estimates direct radiative forcing by tropospheric ozone and all aerosols between the years 1850 and 2000,using the new IPCC AR5 (the Intergov-ernmental Panel on Climate Change Fifth Assessment Report) emissions inventories and a fully coupled chem-istry-aerosol general circulation model.As compared to the previous Global Emissions Inventory Activity (GEIA) data,that have been commonly used for forcing estimates since 1990,the IPCC AR5 emissions inventories report lower anthropogenic emissions of organic carbon and black carbon aerosols and higher sulfur and NO x emis-sions.The simulated global and annual mean burdens of sulfate,nitrate,black carbon (BC),primary organic aero-sol (POA),secondary organic aerosol (SOA),and ozone were 0.79,0.35,0.05,0.49,0.34,and 269 Tg,respectively,in the year 1850,and 1.90,0.90,0.11,0.71,0.32,and 377 Tg,respectively,in the year 2000.The estimated annual mean top of the atmosphere (TOA) direct radiative forc-ing of all anthropogenic aerosols based on the AR5 emis-sions inventories is-0.60 W m-2 on a global mean basis from 1850 to 2000.However,this is-2.40 W m-2 when forcing values are averaged over eastern China (18-45°N and 95-125°E).The value for tropospheric ozone is 0.17 W m-2 on a global mean basis and 0.24 W m-2 over east-ern China.Forcing values indicate that the climatic effect of aerosols over eastern China is much more significant than the globally averaged effect.CHANG Wen-Yuan LIAO Hong 2009Atmospheric and Oceanic Science Letters2009,2,4:6
