1Performance of the Seasonal Forecasting of the Asian Summer Monsoon by BCC_CSM1.1(m)显示文摘This paper provides a comprehensive assessment of Asian summer monsoon prediction skill as a function of lead time and its relationship to sea surface temperature prediction using the seasonal hindcasts of the Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model, BCC CSM1.1(m). For the South and Southeast Asian summer monsoon, reasonable skill is found in the model's forecasting of certain aspects of monsoon climatology and spatiotemporal variability. Nevertheless, deficiencies such as significant forecast errors over the tropical western North Pacific and the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean are also found. In particular, overestimation of the connections of some dynamical monsoon indices with large-scale circulation and precipitation patterns exists in most ensemble mean forecasts, even for short lead-time forecasts.Variations of SST, measured by the first mode over the tropical Pacific and Indian oceans, as well as the spatiotemporal features over the Ni no3.4 region, are overall well predicted. However, this does not necessarily translate into successful forecasts of the Asian summer monsoon by the model. Diagnostics of the relationships between monsoon and SST show that difficulties in predicting the South Asian monsoon can be mainly attributed to the limited regional response of monsoon in observations but the extensive and exaggerated response in predictions due partially to the application of ensemble average forecasting methods. 2Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 3Controllable Synthesis of Fluorescent Carbon Dots and Their Detection Application as Nanoprobes显示文摘Carbon dots(CDs), as a new member of carbon nanomaterial family, have aroused great interest since their discovery in 2004. Because of their outstanding water solubility, high sensitivity and selectivity to target analytes, low toxicity, favorable biocompatibility, and excellent photostability, researchers from diverse disciplines have come together to further develop the fundamental properties of CDs. Many methods for the production of CDs have been reported, therein, hydrothermal and solvothermal technology needs simple equipments, and microwave synthesis needs less reaction time, hence these methods become current common synthesis methods, in which many precursors have been applied to produce CDs. Due to their excellent fluorescence, CDs have made impressive strides in sensitivity and selectivity to a diverse array of salt ions,organic/biological molecules and target gases. The development of CDs as nanoprobes is still in its infancy, but continued progress may lead to their integration into environmental and biological applications. 4The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 5Effects of sulfur fertilization and short-term high temperature on wheat grain production and wheat flour proteins显示文摘The content of wheat flour proteins affects the quality of wheat flour. Sulfur nutrition in wheat can change the protein content of the flour. The inconsistency and instability of wheat grain quality during grain filling under high temperature stress(HTS) are a major challenge to the production of high-quality wheat. The effects of sulfur fertilization and HTS on wheat flour protein and its components are unknown. In this study, treatments varying two factors: sulfur fertilization and exposure to short-term HTS, at 20 days postanthesis, were applied to two wheat cultivars with differing gluten types. Plants of a stronggluten wheat(Gaoyou 2018) and a medium-gluten wheat(Zhongmai 8) were grown in pots in Beijing in 2015–2017. HTS significantly increased the contents of total protein, albumin,gliadin, glutenin, Cys, and Met in wheat kernels, but reduced grain yield, grain weight,protein yield, globulin content, and total starch accumulation. The HTS-induced increase in total protein amount was closely associated with nitrate reductase(NR) and glutamine synthetase(GS) activities in flag leaves. Sulfur fertilization increased grain and protein yields; grain weight; total protein, albumin, gliadin, glutenin, and globulin contents; protein yield; total starch; Cys, Met; and NR and GS activities. HTS and sulfur fertilization had larger effects on the strong-than on the medium-gluten cultivar. 6Relationships between Interannual and Intraseasonal Variations of the Asian–Western Pacific Summer Monsoon Hindcasted by BCC CSM 1.1(m)显示文摘Using hindcasts of the Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model, the relationships between interannual variability(IAV) and intraseasonal variability(ISV) of the Asian–western Pacific summer monsoon are diagnosed. Predictions show reasonable skill with respect to some basic characteristics of the ISV and IAV of the western North Pacific summer monsoon(WNPSM) and the Indian summer monsoon(ISM). However, the links between the seasonally averaged ISV(SAISV) and seasonal mean of ISM are overestimated by the model. This deficiency may be partially attributable to the overestimated frequency of long breaks and underestimated frequency of long active spells of ISV in normal ISM years, although the model is capable of capturing the impact of ISV on the seasonal mean by its shift in the probability of phases.Furthermore, the interannual relationships of seasonal mean, SAISV, and seasonally averaged long-wave variability(SALWV; i.e., the part with periods longer than the intraseasonal scale) of the WNPSM and ISM with SST and low-level circulation are examined. The observed seasonal mean, SAISV, and SALWV show similar correlation patterns with SST and atmospheric circulation, but with different details. 7Effects of tridimensional uniform sowing on water consumption, nitrogen use, and yield in winter wheat显示文摘Wheat is a staple crop worldwide, but yields may diminish as climate change causes increasingly unpredictable patterns of precipitation and soil nutrient availability. Farmers are thus challenged to maximize planting efficiency to increase yield, while also improving their resource use efficiency. In this study the effectiveness of tridimensional uniform sowing was tested across a range of planting densities for winter wheat crops on the North China Plain. Tridimensional uniform sowing was tested against conventional drilling at three planting densities (180 × 104, 270 × 104, and 360 × 104 plants ha 1) and assessed for water consumption, biomass, nitrogen uptake and allocation, and aspects of yield. The tridimensional uniform sowing treatment outperformed the conventional drilling treatment in most metrics and at most planting densities, while performing markedly better at higher planting densities. Water consumption decreased and nitrogen efficiency increased. Tiller number and percentage of productive tillers, leaf area index, dry weight, and yield increased without a significant decline in grain protein. Nitrogen allocation was more efficient under tridimensional uniform sowing than with conventional drilling, and also varied according to annual precipitation and planting density. Both yield and grain protein contents were significantly correlated with the amount of pre-anthesis accumu- lated nitrogen translocated from vegetative organs to kernels after anthesis. Overall, a density of 270 × 104 plants ha 1 provided the highest water use efficiency and grain yield. 8The Low Energy X-ray telescope (LE) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Low Energy X-ray telescope(LE) is one of the three main instruments of the Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT). It is equipped with Swept Charge Device(SCD) sensor arrays with a total geometrical area of 384 cm^2 and an energy band from 0.7 to 13 ke V. In order to evaluate the particle induced X-ray background and the cosmic X-ray background simultaneously, LE adopts collimators to define four types of Field Of Views(FOVs), i.e., 1.6°×6°, 4°×6°, 50°-60°×2°-6 oand the blocked ones which block the X-ray by an aluminum cover. LE is constituted of three detector boxes(LEDs) and an electric control box(LEB) and achieves a good energy resolution of 140 e V@5.9 ke V, an excellent time resolution of 0.98 ms, as well as an extremely low pileup(<1%@18000 cts/s). 9Clinical study of ultrasound and microbubbles for enhancing chemotherapeutic sensitivity of malignant tumors in digestive system显示文摘Objective: To explore the safety of ultrasound and microbubbles for enhancing the chemotherapeutic sensitivity of malignant tumors in the digestive system in a clinical trial, as well as its efficacy.Methods: From October 2014 to June 2016, twelve patients volunteered to participate in this study. Eleven patients had hepatic metastases from tumors of the digestive system, and one patient had pancreatic carcinoma.According to the mechanical index(MI) in the ultrasound field, patients were classified into four groups with MIs of 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0. Within half an hour after chemotherapy, patients underwent ultrasound scanning with ultrasound microbubbles(SonoVue) to enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy. All adverse reactions were recorded and were classified in 4 grades according to the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events version 4.03(CTCAE V4.03). Tumor responses were evaluated by the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors version1.1 criteria. All the patients were followed up until progression.Results: All the adverse reactions recorded were level 1 or level 2. No local pain occurred in any of the patients.Among all the adverse reactions, fever might be related to the treatment with ultrasound combined with microbubbles. Six patients had stable disease(SD), and one patient had a partial response(PR) after the first cycle of treatment. At the end of follow-up, tumor progression was restricted to the original sites, and no new lesions had appeared.Conclusions: Our preliminary data showed the potential role of a combined treatment with ultrasound and microbubbles in enhancing the chemotherapeutic sensitivity of malignant tumors of the digestive system. 10Biodegradation of 2-naphthol and its metabolites by coupling Aspergillus niger with Bacillus subtilis显示文摘To explore biodegradation of 2-naphthol and its metabolites accumulated in wastewater treatment,a series of bio-degradation experiments were conducted.Two main metabolites of 2-naphthol,1,2-naphthalene-diol and 1,2-naphthoquinone,were identified by high-performance liquid chromatography with standards.Combining fungus Aspergillus niger with bacterium Bacillus subtilis in the treatment enhanced 2-naphthol degradation efficiency,lowered the accumulation of the two toxic metabolites.There were two main phases during the degradation process by the kinetic analysis:2-naphthol was first partly degraded by the fungus,producing labile and easily accumulated metabolites,and then the metabolites were mainly degraded by the bacterium,attested by the degradation processes of 1,2-naphthalene-diol and 1,2-naphthoquinone as sole source of carbon and energy.Sodium succinate,as a co-metabolic substrate,was the most suitable compound for the continuous degradation.The optimum concentration of 2-naphthol was 50 mg/L.The overall 2-naphthol degradation rate was 92%,and the COD Cr removal rate was 80% on day 10.These results indicated that high degradation rate of 2-naphthol should not be considered as the sole desirable criterion for the bioremediation of 2-naphtholcontaminated soils/wastewater.Shuyan Zang Bin Lian Juan Wang Yanjie Yang 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,5:8
11Creating a novel herbicide-tolerance OsALS allele using CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing显示文摘Weeds and weedy rice plague commercial rice fields in many countries. Developingherbicide-tolerance rice is the most efficient strategy to control weed proliferation. CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing, which generates small InDels and nucleotide substitutions atand around target sites using error-prone non-homologous end joining DNA repairing, hasbeen widely adopted for generation of novel crop germplasm with a wide range of geneticvariation in important agronomic traits. We created a novel herbicide-tolerance allele inrice by targeting the acetolactate synthase (OsALS) gene using CRISPR/Cas9-mediated geneediting. The novel allele (G628W) arose from a G-to-T transversion at position 1882 of OsALSand conferred a high level of herbicide tolerance. Transgene-free progeny carryinghomozygous G628W allele were identified and showed agronomic performance similar tothat of wild-type plants, suggesting that the G628W allele is a valuable resource fordeveloping elite rice varieties with strong herbicide tolerance. To promote use of the G628Wallele and to accelerate introgression and/or pyramiding of the G628W allele with other elitealleles, we developed a DNA marker for the G628W allele that accurately and robustlydistinguished homozygous from heterozygous segregants. 13Evaluation of Cloud Vertical Structure Simulated by Recent BCC_AGCM Versions through Comparison With CALIPSO-GOCCP Data显示文摘The abilities of BCC AGCM2.1 and BCC AGCM2.2 to simulate the annual-mean cloud vertical structure(CVS) were evaluated through comparison with GCM-Oriented CALIPSO Cloud Product(CALIPSO-GOCCP) data. BCC AGCM2.2has a dynamical core and physical processes that are consistent with BCC AGCM2.1, but has a higher horizontal resolution.Results showed that both BCC AGCM versions underestimated the global-mean total cloud cover(TCC), middle cloud cover(MCC) and low cloud cover(LCC), and that BCC AGCM2.2 underestimated the global-mean high cloud cover(HCC).The global-mean cloud cover shows a systematic decrease from BCC AGCM2.1 to BCC AGCM2.2, especially for HCC.Geographically, HCC is significantly overestimated in the tropics, particularly by BCC AGCM2.1, while LCC is generally overestimated over extra-tropical lands, but significantly underestimated over most of the oceans, especially for subtropical marine stratocumulus clouds.The leading EOF modes of CVS were extracted. The BCC AGCMs perform well in reproducing EOF1, but with a larger variance explained. The two models also capture the basic features of EOF3, except an obvious deficiency in eigenvector peaks. EOF2 has the largest simulation biases in both position and strength of eigenvector peaks. Furthermore, we investigated the effects of CVS on relative shortwave and longwave cloud radiative forcing(RSCRF and RLCRF). Both BCC AGCM versions successfully reproduce the sign of regression coefficients, except for RLCRF in PC1. However, the RSCRF relative contributions from PC1 and PC2 are overestimated, while the relative contribution from PC3 is underestimated in both BCC AGCM versions. 14Design and physical model experiment of an attitude adjustment device for a crawler tractor in hilly and mountainous regions显示文摘To address the problems of difficult leveling and poor stability of hill crawler tractors,an attitude adjustment device based on a parallel four-bar mechanism was designed,and the mechanical reasons for the sideslip instability of hill crawler tractors were analyzed.On this basis,a posture adjustment mechanism based on a parallel four-bar mechanism was proposed,and the structure of the complete attitude adjustment device was designed.To ensure that this device meets the strength requirements during operation,a mechanical analysis of the key components(active rocker and slave rocker)was carried out to accommodate the load during leveling.Based on ANSYS software,a finite element simulation analysis was used to determine the maximum stress position of the active and slave rockers.Finally,to verify the accuracy of the above simulation analysis results and determine the influence rules of the lateral slope angle,longitudinal slope angle and loading quality on the abovementioned maximum stress,a physical model test bench of the attitude adjustment device was built.An orthogonal regression experiment was carried out with the maximum stresses of the active and slave rockers as the test indices.The experimental data were analyzed by Design-Expert 10 software,and the results show that the order of the primary and secondary factors influencing the maximum stress of the active rocker was the loading mass,lateral slope angle and longitudinal slope angle.The order of the factors influencing the maximum stress of the slave rocker was the longitudinal slope angle,lateral slope angle and loading mass.The active and slave rockers meet the strength requirements.This work provides technical support for the production of hill crawler tractor physical prototypes.Jingbin Sun Chong Meng Yazhou Zhang Guoping Chu Yanjie Zhang Fuzeng Yang Zhijie Liu 2020Information Processing in Agriculture2020,7,3:5
15Highly Enhanced Visible-Light-Driven Photoelectrochemical Performance of ZnO-Modified In_2S_3 Nanosheet Arrays by Atomic Layer Deposition显示文摘Photoanodes based on In_2S_3/ZnO heterojunction nanosheet arrays(NSAs) have been fabricated by atomic layer deposition of ZnO over In_2S_3 NSAs, which were in situ grown on fluorine-doped tin oxide glasses via a facile solvothermal process. The as-prepared photoanodes show dramatically enhanced performance for photoelectrochemical(PEC) water splitting, compared to single semiconductor counterparts. The optical and PEC properties of In_2S_3/ZnO NSAs have been optimized by modulating the thickness of the Zn O overlayer. After pairing with ZnO, the NSAs exhibit a broadened absorption range and an increased light absorptance over a wide wavelength region of 250–850 nm. The optimized sample of In_2S_3/ZnO-50 NSAs shows a photocurrent density of 1.642 m A cm^(-2)(1.5 V vs. RHE) and an incident photonto-current efficiency of 27.64% at 380 nm(1.23 V vs.RHE), which are 70 and 116 times higher than those of the pristine In_2S_3 NSAs, respectively. 16Initial carbon release characteristics, mechanisms and denitrification performance of a novel slow release carbon source显示文摘External carbon source addition is one of the effective methods for the treatment of wastewater with low carbon to nitrogen ratio(C/N). Compared with fast-release liquid carbon sources, slow-release solid carbon sources are more suitable for the denitrification process. A novel slow-release solid carbon source(corncob-polyvinyl alcohol sodium alginatepoly-caprolactone, i.e. CPSP) was prepared using corn cob(CC) and poly-caprolactone with polyvinyl alcohol sodium alginate as hybrid scaffold. The physical properties and carbon release characteristics of CPSP and three other carbon sources were compared. CPSP had stable framework and good carbon release performance, which followed the second order release equation. The formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid and butyric acid released from CPSP accounted for 8.27% ± 1.66 %, 56.48% ± 3.71 %, 18.46% ± 2.69% and 16.79% ± 3.02% of the total released acids respectively. The start-up period of CPSP was shorter than that of the other carbon sources in denitrification experiment, and no COD pollution was observed in the start-up phase(25–72 h) and stable phase(73–240 hr). 17Hydrogen sulfide-linked persulfidation of ABI4 controls ABA responses through the transactivation of MAPKKK18 in Arabidopsis显示文摘Hydrogen sulfide(H2S)is a signaling molecule that regulates plant hormone and stress responses.The phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)plays an important role in plant adaptation to unfavorable environmental conditions and induces the persulfidation of L-CYSTEINE DESULFHYDRASE1(DES1)and the production of H2S in guard cells.However,it remains largely unclear how H2S and protein persulfidation participate in the relay of ABA signals.In this study,we discovered that ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE 4(ABI4)acts downstream of DES1 in the control of ABA responses in Arabidopsis.ABI4 undergoes persulfidation at Cys250 that is triggered in a time-dependent manner by ABA,and loss of DES1 function impairs this process.Cys250 and its persulfidation are essential for ABI4 function in the regulation of plant responses to ABA and the H2S donor NaHS during germination,seedling establishment,and stomatal closure,which are abolished in the ABI4Cys250Ala mutated variant.Introduction of the ABI4Cys250Ala variant into the abi4 des1 mutant did not rescue its hyposensitivity to ABA.Cys250 is critical for the binding of ABI4 to its cognate motif in the promoter of Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase 18(MAPKKK18),which propagates the MAPK signaling cascade induced by ABA.Furthermore,the DES1-mediated persulfidation of ABI4 enhances the transactivation activity of ABI4 toward MAPKKK18,and ABI4 can bind the DES1 promoter,forming a regulatory loop.Taken together,these findings advance our understanding of a post-translational regulatory mechanism and suggest that ABI4 functions as an integrator of ABA and MAPK signals through a process in which DES1-produced H2S persulfidates ABI4 at Cys250.Mingjian Zhou Jing Zhang Jie Shen Heng Zhou Didi Zhao Cecilia Gotor Luis CRomero Ling Fu Zongmin Li Jing Yang Wenbiao Shen Xingxing Yuan Yanjie Xie 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,6:5
18LncDACH1 promotes mitochondrial oxidative stress of cardiomyocytes by interacting with sirtuin3 and aggravates diabetic cardiomyopathy显示文摘Diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM)is a common complication in diabetic patients.The molecular mechanisms of DCM remain to be fully elucidated.The intronic long noncoding RNA of DACH1(lnc DACH1)has been demonstrated to be closely associated with heart failure and cardiac regeneration.In this study,we investigated the role of lnc DACH1 in DCM and the underlying molecular mechanisms.The expression of lnc DACH1 was increased in DCM hearts and in high glucose-treated cardiomyocytes.Knockout of lnc DACH1 reduced mitochondrial oxidative stress,cell apoptosis,cardiac fibrosis and hypertrophy,and improved cardiac function in DCM mice.Overexpression of lnc DACH1 exacerbated mitochondria-derived reactive oxygen species(ROS)level and apoptosis,decreased activity of manganese superoxide dismutase(Mn-SOD);while silencing of lnc DACH1 attenuated ROS production,mitochondrial dysfunction,cell apoptosis,and increased the activity of Mn-SOD in cardiomyocytes treated with high glucose.Lnc DACH1 directly bound to sirtuin3(SIRT3)and facilitated its degradation by ubiquitination,therefore promoting mitochondrial oxidative injury and cell apoptosis in mouse hearts.In addition,SIRT3 silencing abrogated the protective effects of lnc DACH1 deficiency in cardiomyocytes.In summary,lnc DACH1 aggravates DCM by promoting mitochondrial oxidative stress and cell apoptosis via increasing ubiquitination-mediated SIRT3 degradation in mouse hearts.Inhibition of lnc DACH1 represents a novel therapeutic strategy for the intervention of diabetic cardiomyopathy.Qi Zhang Danyang Li Xue Dong Xiaowen Zhang Junwu Liu Lili Peng Bo Meng Qi Hua Xinyu Pei Lu Zhao Xiaoxi Hu Yang Zhang Zhenwei Pan Yanjie Lu Baofeng Yang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,6:4

20Degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol catalyzed by the immobilized laccase with the carrier of Fe_3O_4@MSS–NH_2显示文摘With the Fe3O4@MSS(magnetic mesoporous silica spheres)–NH2as the carrier and the glutaraldehyde as crosslinking agent,the immobilized laccase has been prepared and characterized by XRD,IR,SEM and BET etc.Under the optimal conditions,the removal efficiency of2,4-DCP reached 88%and the removal efficiency still remained 61.5%after five cycles of operations.In virtue of GC–MS analysis,2,5-dimethoxyl-1,4-quinone,2-chlorine-1,4-dimethoxyl benzene,3,30-dichlorine-4,40-dimethoxyl biphenyl,maleic acid phenol ester,and three kinds of maleic acid,alcohol ester,and para-hydroxyl phenol ester compounds have been identified as intermediate and final degradation products of 2,4-DCP,respectively.Besides,the degradation products of 2,4-DCP have been confirmed by performing the1H-NMR and13C-NMR experiments,further demonstrating the degradation mechanism of 2,4-DCP by the immobilized laccase.Yan Huang Yanjie Xi Yuxiang Yang Cheng Chen Hongming Yuan Xiangnong Liu 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,5:3
