1Fishbone-like platinum-nickel nanowires as an efficient electrocatalyst for methanol oxidation显示文摘Platinum(Pt)-based electrocatalyst with low Pt content and high electrocatalytic performance is highly desired in fuel cell applications.Herein,we demonstrated that platinum-nickel(Pt-Ni)nanowires with an average composition of PtNi3 and a fishbone structure can be readily synthesized and used as an efficient electrocatalyst toward methanol oxidation reaction(MOR).The PtNi3 fishbone-like nanowires(PtNi3-FBNWs)present features such as richer Pt on the surface than in the bulk,high-index facets on the rough surface,and polyhedral facets at the ends of side chains.Such compositional and structural features could be determinative to the enhanced performance in the electrocatalysis of MOR.Compared with commercial 20%Pt/carbon black(Pt/C),the specific activity and mass activity of the PtNi3-FBNWs are enhanced by approximately 4.76 and 3.02 times,respectively.The stability of electrocatalysis is significantly improved as well.Such comprehensive enhancement indicates that the PtNi3-FBNWs would be a promising candidate toward MOR in fuel cells.Jinquan Chang Luting Song Yuanqing Xu Yanhong Ma Cheng Liang Wenyu Jiang Yong Zhang 2020Nano Research2020,13,1:3

3EAT-NAS: elastic architecture transfer for accelerating large-scale neural architecture search显示文摘Neural architecture search(NAS) methods have been proposed to relieve human experts from tedious architecture engineering. However, most current methods are constrained in small-scale search owing to the issue of huge computational resource consumption. Meanwhile, the direct application of architectures searched on small datasets to large datasets often bears no performance guarantee due to the discrepancy between different datasets. This limitation impedes the wide use of NAS on large-scale tasks. To overcome this obstacle, we propose an elastic architecture transfer mechanism for accelerating large-scale NAS(EATNAS).In our implementations, the architectures are first searched on a small dataset, e.g., CIFAR-10. The best one is chosen as the basic architecture. The search process on a large dataset, e.g., ImageNet, is initialized with the basic architecture as the seed. The large-scale search process is accelerated with the help of the basic architecture. We propose not only a NAS method but also a mechanism for architecture-level transfer learning. In our experiments, we obtain two final models EATNet-A and EATNet-B, which achieve competitive accuracies of 75.5% and 75.6%, respectively, on ImageNet. Both the models also surpass the models searched from scratch on ImageNet under the same settings. 7Spatial Distribution and Sources Identification of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Wolong Lake, Northeast China显示文摘The aquatic ecosystem maybe significantly affected by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) released from fresh water sediments. In order to protect biodiversity, the spatial distribution and sources of PAHs in the sediment of Wolong Lake in Northeast China were studied. A total of 17 surface sediment samples were collected and 12 PAHs were analyzed. The results were as follows. The concentration of total PAHs(TPAHs) ranged between 1412.9 μg/kg and 3948.3 μg/kg(dry weight). Indeno [1, 2, 3-c, d] pyrene was the dominant contaminant which accounted for 87%–98% of TPAHs. Diagnostic ratios of PAHs and principal component analysis showed that biomass combustion and vehicle emissions were likely to be the dominant sources of PAHs in the sediment. PAHs can be considered safe in the context of environmental and human health protection, based on the overall toxicity. Individual PAHs were positively correlated with total organic carbons. 8The Establishment and Validation of the Human U937 Cell Line as a Cellular Model to Screen Immunomodulatory Agents Regulating Cytokine Release Induced by Influenza Virus Infection显示文摘Severe influenza infections are often associated with the excessive induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines,which is also referred to as'cytokine storms'.Several studies have shown that cytokine storms are directly associated with influenzainduced fatal acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome.Due to the narrow administration window,current antiviral therapies are often inadequate.The efforts to use immunomodulatory agents alone or in combination with antiviral agents in the treatment of influenza in animal models have resulted in the achievement of protective effects accompanied with reduced cytokine production.Currently,there are no immunomodulatory drugs for influenza available for clinical use.Animal models,despite being ideal to study the anti-inflammatory responses to influenza virus infection,are very costly and time-consuming.Therefore,there is an urgent need to establish fast and economical screening methods using cellbased models to screen and develop novel immunomodulatory agents.In this study,we screened seven human cell lines and found that the human monocytic cell U937 supports the replication of different subtypes of influenza viruses as well as the production of the important pro-inflammatory cytokines and was selected to develop the cell-based model.The U937 cell model was validated by testing a panel of known antiviral and immunomodulatory agents and screening a drug library consisting of 1280 compounds comprised mostly of FDA-approved drugs.We demonstrated that the U937 cell model is robust and suitable for the high-throughput screening of immunomodulators and antivirals against influenza infection.Ge Liu Si Chen Ao Hu Li Zhang Wenyu Sun Jungang Chen Wei Tang Haiwei Zhang Chunlan Liu Chang Ke Xulin Chen 2019Virologica Sinica2019,34,6:0
9Integrated hetero-nanoelectrodes for plasmon-enhanced electrocatalysis of hydrogen evolution显示文摘Hetero-nanostructures of plasmonic metals and semiconductors have attracted increasing attention in the field of photocatalysis.However,most of the hetero-nanostructured catalysts are randomly arranged and therefore require comprehensive structural design for optimizing their properties.Herein,we report the robust construction of hierarchical hetero-nanostructures where gold(Au)nanorods and molybdenum disulfide(Mo S_(2))quantum sheets(QSs)are integrated in highly ordered arrays.Such construction is achieved through porous anodic alumina(PAA)template-assisted electrodeposition.The as-fabricated hetero-nanostructures demonstrate exciting electrocatalysis towards hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Both plasmon-induced hot-electron injection and plasmonic scattering/reabsorption mechanisms are determinative to the enhanced electrocatalytic performances.Notably,broadband photoresponses of HER activity in the visible range are observed,indicating their superiority compared with random systems.Such integrated hetero-nanoelectrodes could provide a powerful platform for conversion and utilization of solar energy,meanwhile would greatly prompt the production and exploration of ordered nanoelectrodes.Wenyu Jiang Xianxin Wu Jinquan Chang Yanhong Ma Luting Song Zhexue Chen Cheng Liang Xinfeng Liu Yong Zhang 2021Nano Research2021,14,4:0
10Local symmetry distortion induced anomalous thermal conduction in thermoelectric layered oxyselenides显示文摘Polyhedral distortion,associated closely with the atomic arrangement and interatomic interactions,drives many unique behaviors in solids,such as phase transition and negative thermal expansion.In thermoelectric heteroanionic oxides,the anionic polyhedra are widely present,but their effect on thermal transport is rarely investigated.Here,we report an anomalous thermal conduction induced by local symmetry distortion in layered oxyselenides via solving the Boltzmann transport equation based on first-principles calculations.We found interestingly that lighter BiCuSeO exhibits lower thermal conductivity than heavier BiAgSeO.Due to the different distorted degrees of CuSe4 and AgSe4 tetrahedrons,Cu prefers the in-plane vibration,while Ag has more tendency of out-of-plane vibration.Thus,the heat-carrying phonons dominated by the rattling-like vibration of Cu are significantly suppressed,resulting in lower thermal conductivity of BiCuSeO.This study highlights the importance of polyhedral distortion in regulating thermal conduction in layered heteroanionic materials.Bin Wei Jiale Li Yueyang Yang Wang Li Zhifang Zhou Yunpeng Zheng Wenyu Zhang Yifan Chai Zheng Chang Ce-Wen Nan Yuan-Hua Lin 2023npj Computational Materials2023,,1:0
11Emission Behaviors of Submicron Particles(PM_(1))Generated by the Combustion of Sesame Stalk after Combined Water Washing and Carbonization Pretreatment显示文摘Pretreatment before biomass combustion is significant for its efficient utilization and that combined water washing and carbonization can be efficient.An agricultural processing residues sesame stalk was selected and carried out two pretreatments separately,i.e.,water washing-torrefaction(W-T)and torrefaction-water washing(T-W),to explore the effect on the fuel properties,combustion characteristics and particulate matter(PM)emission.The obtained biochar was also combusted under air and oxy50(CO_(2):O_(2)=50:50)conditions for the sake of investigating the effect of pretreatment and combustion atmosphere.The results indicate that,W-T and T-W both not only have great effect on the improvement of fuel properties but also reduce the content of water-soluble elements like K,Cl,etc.Due to the difference in hydrophobicity,the biochar obtained by W-T have the optimal fuel properties.At the same time,the pretreatment also hinder the combustion in a certain extent in which the comprehensive combustion characteristics(SN)show a downward trend.Furthermore,both two pretreatments have obvious benefit on the reduction of PM_(1)emission and W-T have the best effect related to the higher removal efficiency of inorganic elements(especially K+Na+Cl+S).Under oxy50 condition,the oxygen concentration and combustion temperature is higher,improving the sulfation of K and vaporization of Ca,P and Mg which result in weakening in the pretreatment reduction effect on PM_(1)emission.Tianyu Liu Chang Wen Wenyu Wang Kai Yan Yongjun Xia Rui Li Juan Liu Yang Zhang 2021Energy Engineering2021,118,3:0
