| 1 | Dynamics of algae growth and nutrients in experimental enclosures culturing bighead carp and common carp: Phosphorus dynamics显示文摘This is the third paper of the series about 'Dynamics of algae growth and nutrients in experimental enclosures culturing bighead carp and common carp'.In this paper, phosphorus dynamics were investigated under the condition of culturing bighead carp and common carp with added fish food(nitrogen dynamics is discussed in the second paper because their behaviors are so different from each other).Nearly fifty days' observation results indicated that the reservoir water was typical of 'phosphorus limited' water, and soluble reactive phosphorus(SRP) was the main constituent of measured total phosphorus(TP).The presence of fish food resulted in significantly higher SRP,dissolved total phosphorus(DTP) and TP concentrations in contrast with the reservoir water. Moreover, continuous supply of fish food led to the decline of total nitrogen to total phosphorus(TN:TP) from more than 100 to less than5.Variations in the ratio of TN to TP favored the growth of blue-green algae.Fish species affected phosphorus concentrations, and culturing bait-eating common carp contributed more to reducing the SRP,DTP and TP concentrations than culturing planktivorous bighead carp.0.5%,4.1%and 3.1%TP can be removed in enclosures with culturing bighead carp, common carp and mixed bighead carp and common carp, respectively.Abundant phosphorus in the fish culturing activities may be present as the uneaten food, algae cells, and within the water column and sediment, which should be taken into serious consideration for the target of future water eutrophication prevention and safety of the drinking water supply. | Suiliang Huang Min Wu Changjuan Zang Shenglan Du Joseph Domagalski Magdalena Gajewska Feng Gao Chao Lin Yong Guo Baoyan Liu Shaoming Wang Yang Luo Adam Szymkiewicz Romuald Szymkiewicz | 2016 | International Journal of Sediment Research2016,31,2: | 3 |

| 9 | Risk factors of lymph node metastasis in rectal neuroendocrine tumors显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the risk factors of lymph node metastasis in rectal neuroendocrine neoplasms(RNENs).Methods We enrolled 168 patients with RNENs as the research object, and their clinicopathological and survival data were collected. The risk factors affecting lymph node metastasis were analyzed retrospectively, and independent risk factors affecting prognosis were evaluated. Results Analysis showed that age, tumor diameter, tumor function, grade, and T stage were correlated with lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that tumor size, grade, and T stage were independent risk factors for lymph node metastasis in patients with RNENs.Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that the 5-year overall survival(OS)of patients with lymph node metastasis was 40.0%(10/25),and that of patients without lymph node metastasis was 93.0%(133/143).The prognosis of RNENs patients with lymph node metastasis along with patients with large tumor diameter and high grade was poor.Cox multivariate analysis showed that tumor diameter(HR=1.985,P=0.008),grade(HR=3.416,P=0.004),T stage(HR=2.413,P=0.014),and lymph node metastasis(HR=3.119,P=0.000)were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients with RNENs.Conclusion Tumor size, grade, and T stage are the main risk factors for lymph node metastasis and prognosis in patients with RNENs.These risk factors should be fully evaluated before surgery. | Donghong Liang Zhennan Niu Xiaofang Sun Changjuan Meng Zhuang Liu | 2022 | Oncology and Translational Medicine2022,8,4: | 0 |
| 10 | Telomere-to-telomere genome assembly of melon(Cucumis melo L.var.inodorus)provides a high-quality reference for meta-QTL analysis of important traits显示文摘Melon is an important horticultural crop with extensive diversity in many horticultural groups. To explore its genomic diversity,it is necessary to assemble more high-quality complete genomes from different melon accessions.Meanwhile,a large number of QTLs have been mapped in several studies.Integration of the published QTLs onto a complete genome can provide more accurate information for candidate gene cloning. To address these problems,a telomere-to-telomere(T2T)genome of the elite melon landrace Kuizilikjiz(Cucumis melo L.var.inodorus)was de novo assembled and all the published QTLs were projected onto it in this study. The results showed that a high-quality Kuizilikjiz genome with the size of 379.2 Mb and N50 of 31.7 Mb was de novo assembled using the combination of short reads,PacBio high-fidelity long reads,Hi-C data, and a high-density genetic map. Each chromosome contained the centromere and telomeres at both ends.A large number of structural variations were observed between Kuizilikjiz and the other published genomes.A total of 1294 QTLs published in 67 studies were collected and projected onto the T2T genome.Several clustered,co-localized,and overlapped QTLs were determined.Furthermore,20 stable meta-QTLs were identified, which significantly reduced the mapping intervals of the initial QTLs and greatly facilitated identification of the candidate genes.Collectively, the T2T genome assembly together with the numerous projected QTLs will not only broaden the high-quality genome resources but also provide valuable and abundant QTL information for cloning the genes controlling important traits in melon. | Minghua Wei Ying Huang Changjuan Mo Haiyan Wang Qingguo Zeng Wenli Yang Jihao Chen Xuejun Zhang Qiusheng Kong | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,10: | 0 |
| 11 | Camellia sinensis CsMYB4a participates in regulation of stamen growth by interaction with auxin signaling transduction repressor CsAUX/IAA4显示文摘Subgroup 4(Sg4)members of the R2R3-MYB are generally known as negative regulators of the phenylpropanoid pathway in plants. Our previous research showed that a R2R3-MYB Sg4 member from Camellia sinensis(CsMYB4a)inhibits expression of some genes in the phenylpropanoid pathway, but its physiological function in the tea plant remained unknown.Here,CsMYB4a was found to be highly expressed in anther and filaments, and participated in regulating filament growth.Transcriptome analysis and exogenous auxin treatment showed that the target of CsMYB4a might be the auxin signal pathway.Auxin/indole-3-acetic acid 4(AUX/IAA4),a repressor in auxin signal transduction, was detected from a yeast two-hybrid screen using CsMYB4a as bait.Gene silencing assays showed that both CsIAA4 and CsMYB4a regulate filament growth.Tobacco plants overexpressing CsIAA4 were insensitive to exogenous a-NAA,consistent with overexpression of CsMYB4a.Protein-protein interaction experiments revealed that CsMYB4a interacts with N-terminal of CsIAA4 to prevent CsIAA4 degradation.Knock out of the endogenous NtIAA4 gene,a CsIAA4 homolog,in tobacco alleviated filament growth inhibition and a-NAA insensitivity in plants overexpressing CsMYB4a.All results strongly suggest that CsMYB4a works synergistically with CsIAA4 and participates in regulation of the auxin pathway in stamen. | Guoliang Ma Mingzhuo Li Yingling Wu Changjuan Jiang Yifan Chen Dawei Xing Yue Zhao Yajun Liu Xiaolan Jiang Tao Xia Liping Gao | 2024 | The Crop Journal2024,12,1: | 0 |
