4New insights into effects of Kaixin Powder on depression via lipid metabolism related adiponectin signaling pathway显示文摘Objective:To clarify the anti-depressive potential mechanisms of Kaixin Powder(KP),a drug that helps to prevent and treat depression and other mentaldiseases,from genome-wide transcriptome profiling.Methods:Transcriptome and KEGG pathway analysis were conducted on the hippocampus of depressed rats,then the differentially expressed genes were validated and serum concentration of lipid parameters were identified by enzymatic assays.Furthermore,high-fat diets induced depression-like behaviors in Syrian golden hamsters were conducted to verify the predicted molecular mechanisms acquired from the transcriptome analysis.Results:Transcriptome results revealed that the 24 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in chronic mild stress(CMS)rats could be reversed after two weeks of KP treatment.The mechanisms of KP in treating depression firstly involved the regulation of several pathology modules,including lipid metabolism,synapse function and inflammation.KP could regulate imbalances of lipid homeostasis in high-fat diet induced depressive symptoms.Furthermore,it was validated that cholesterol metabolism dysfunction can be ameliorated by KP,which was correlated with upregulation of the AdipoR1-BDNF(brainderived neurotrophic factor)co-regulatory pathway.Conclusion:Taken together,our results demonstrated that KP not only alleviates depression via traditional mental illness targets,but it may also simulates the cholesterol metabolism and adiponectin signaling with multi-target characteristics.Wenshan Yang Hong Yin Yichen Wang Yuanbo Wang Xia Li Chaochen Wang Ping Liu Yuan Hu 2023Chinese Herbal Medicines2023,15,2:0
5Estimation of evaporation losses based on stable isotopes of stream water in a mountain watershed显示文摘Water stable isotopes(δ^(2) H andδ^(18)O)can record surface water evaporation,which is an important hydrological process for understanding watershed structure and function evolution.However,the isotopic estimation of water evaporation losses in the mountain watersheds remains poorly explored,which hinders understanding spatial variations of hydrological processes and their relationships with the temperature and vegetation.Here we investigatedδ^(2) H,δ^(18)O,and d-excess values of stream water along an altitude gradient of 2130 to 3380 m in Guan’egou mountain watershed at the east edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China.The meanδ^(2) H(-69.6‰±2.6‰),δ^(18)O(-10.7‰±0.3‰),and dexcess values(16.0‰±1.4‰)of stream water indicate the inland moisture as the major source of precipitation in study area.Water stable isotopes increase linearly with decreasing altitudes,based on which we estimated the fractions of water evaporation losses along with the altitude and their variations in different vegetations.This study provides an isotopic evaluation method of water evaporation status in mountain watersheds,the results are useful for further understanding the relationship between hydrological processes and ecosystem function under the changing climate surrounding the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.Zhongcong Sun Chaochen Hu Di Wu Guopeng Chen Xiaoqiang Lu Xueyan Liu 2021Acta Geochimica2021,40,2:0
