| 1 | Study of the mechanisms of acupuncture and moxibustion treatmentfor ulcerative colitis ratsinview of the gene expression of cytokines显示文摘AIM To observe the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on the expression of IL 1β and IL 6 mRNA in ulcerative colitis rats. METHODS The SD rat ulcerative colitis model was created by immunological method associated with local stimulation. Colonic mucosa was prepared from human fresh surgical colonic specimens, homogenized by adding appropriate amount of normal saline and centrifuged at 3000*!r/*!min . The supernatant was collected for measurement of protein conentration and then mixed with Freund adjuvant. This antigen fluid was first injected into the plantae of the model group rats, and then into their plantae, dorsa, inguina and abdominal cavities (no Freund adjuvant for the last injection) again on the 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st day. When a certain titer of serum anti colonic antibody was reached, 2% formalin and antigen fluid (no Freund adjuvant) were administered separately by enema. The ulcerative colitis rat model was thus set up. The animals were randomly divided into four groups: model control group (MC, n =8), electro acupuncture group (EA, n =8), herbs partition moxibustion group (HPM 8), normal control group (NC, n =8). HPM: Moxa cones made of refined mugwort floss were placed on the medicinal pad (medicinal pad dispensing: Radix Aconiti praeparata, cortex Cinnamomi, etc ) for Qihai (RN 6) and Tianshu (ST 25, bilateral) and ignited. Two moxa cones were used for each acupoint once a day and 14 times in all. EA: Tianshu (bilateral) and Qihai were stimulated by the intermittent pulse with 2Hz frequency, 4mA intensity for 20 minutes once a day and 14 times in all. After treatment, rats of all four groups were killed simultaneously. The spleen was separated and the distal colon was dissected. Total tissue RNA was isolated by the guanidinium thiocyanate phenol chloroform extraction method. RT PCR technique was used to study the expression of IL 1β and IL 6 mRNA. RESULTS IL 1β and IL 6 mRNAs were not detected in the spleen and colonic mucosa of the NC rats, whereas they were significantly expressed in that of the MC rats. IL 1β and IL 6 mRNAs were markedly lower in the EA and HPM rats than that in MC rats. There was no significant difference between the levels of IL 1β and IL 6 mRNAs in the EA and HPM rats. The expressions of IL 1β and IL 6 mRNAs were nearly the same in the spleen and colon of all groups. | 2 | Up-regulation of PIK3CA promotes metastasis in gastric carcinoma显示文摘AIM:To explore expressions of PIK3CA in the progression of gastric cancer from primary to metastasis and its effects on activation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/Akt pathway.METHODS:mRNA and protein levels of PIK3CA were assessed,respectively,by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry in specimens of normal gastric mucosa,primary foci and lymph node and distant metastasis of gastric cancer.Akt and phosphorylated Akt protein were also examined by Western blotting in these tissues,in order to analyze the effect of PIK3CA expression level changes on the activation of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.RESULTS:PIK3CA mRNA in lymph node metastasis were approximately 5 and 2 folds higher,respectively,than that in the corresponding normal gastric mucosa and primary gastric cancer tissues(P<0.05),while no statistical significance was found compared with distant metastasis.Immunohistochemically,PIK3CA protein expression was discovered in 7(35%)specimens of 20 primary foci vs 10(67%)of 15 of lymph node metastasis or 11(61%)of 18 of distant metastasis(35%vs 67%,P=0.015;35%vs 61%,P=0.044).With the increased level of PIK3CA expression,the total Akt protein expression remained almost unchanged,but p-Akt protein was upregulated markedly.CONCLUSION:Increased expression of PIK3CA is expected to be a promising indicator of metastasis in gastric cancer.Up-regulation of PIK3CA may promote the metastasis of gastric cancer through aberrant activation of PI3K/Akt signaling. | Liu JF Zhou XK Chen JH Yi G Chen HG Ba MC Lin SQ Qi YC. | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，39： | 20 |
| 3 | CT arterial portography and CT hepatic arteriography in detection of micro liver cancer显示文摘AIM To recognize the characteristic findings of micrQliver cancer (MLC) and to evaluate the effect of CT arterial portography (CTAP) and CT hepatic arteriography (CTHA) in diagnosis of MLC. METHODS Between April 1996 to December 1998, CTAP and CTHA were performed in 12patients with MLC, which were not detect ed byconventional CT examinations. After CTHA, 3 mL-- 5 mL mixture of lipiodol, doxorubic in andmitomycin C were injected into hepatic arterythrough the catheter, and then followed up by CTthree or four weeks later (Lipiodol CT LP-CT).RESULTS A total of 22 micro--tumors (0 .2 cm 0.6 cm in diameter ) were detected in 12patients, which manifested as small perfusiondefects in CTAP and small round enhancement inCTHA. The rate of detectability of CTAP andCTHA was 68.2% (15/ 22) and 77.3% (17/ 22)respectively, and the rate of the simultaneoususe of both procedures reached 86. 4% (19/ 22 ).All micro--tumors were demonstrated as punctatelipiodol deposit fool in LP--CT. After LP--CT, theelevated serum level of Q-fetoprotein (AFP)dropped to the normal level in all patients.CONCLUSION The CTAP and CTHA are the mostsensitive imaging methods for detecting microIiver cancer. | 4 | 显示文摘The phase formation regularities in nanometer powders of ternary alloys prepared by gas evaporation process with induction current as the heating source were investigated. Al-Cu-Mn and Al-Cu-Cr were chosen as the samples in this study. The experimental results show that the necessary conditions for forming ternary compound phases in a ternary alloy nanometer powder are that they must be able to form in a conventional bulk alloy. To obtain a ternary compound phase in nanometer powders, composition of the master alloy must be in a certain range. Changing the composition of the master alloy and evaporation temperature can control the kinds of the phases and their relative amount in the alloy nanometer powders. In present study, AlMn, Al8Mn5 and AlCu2Mn phases formed in as-prepared nanometer powders of Al-Cu-Mn alloy, and the highest relative amount of AlCu2Mn phase is about 99%.
