9Landau theory of martensitic transformation in Fe-Mn-Si based alloys显示文摘Considering the features of martensitic transformation in Fe-Mn-Si based alloys, the Landau theory is established by introducing the density of stacking faults as a new order parameter η and the corresponding free energy function. By using such an order parameter, the stacking fault mechanism of the nucleation and growth for the γ(fcc) →ε(hcp) martensitic transformation can be reasonably explained, and a further detailed mechanism is proposed. The stacking faults are generated and overlapped in an irregular form at the beginning and then becoming regular to create some transition structures till a stable phase forms at a certain temperature. The importance of the interface soliton is to complete the transformations into various structures of martensite but not the twinned one. 14Deformation and Dislocation Structure in L1_2 Titanium Trialuminide Alloys显示文摘The deformation behaviour and the nature of dislocations of the Al3Ti-base L12 alloya modified with Fe and Mn etc, were investigated. The results show that the deformation and fracture character istics are closely related to the alloy compositions. The effect of hot-working process on the room tem perature ductility is remarkable, not only resulting in an appreciable improvement of compressive properties but also showing a 0.28% plastic strain in tensile test. The SISF dissociation of a < 110>dislocations on {111} planes was found at room temperature. 15Nucleation barrier of fcc(γ)→hcp(ε) martensitic transformation in Fe-based alloys显示文摘Based on the dislocation theory and Olson's stacking fault model, a model describing the nucleation of an hcp(ε) martensite embryo at low-angle grain boundary is proposed with the influence of external stress field taken into account. The dependences of temperature (T), shear stress (τ) and dislocation density at grain boundary on the martensite nucleation in FeMnSi based alloy, as an example, are numerically simulated. It has been shown that there exist the subcritical and critical embryos during the course of ε-phase nucleation. The free energy difference between them is just the energy barrier of embryo growth. Depending on T and τ, the characteristic embryo sizes may vary in wide ranges and decrease with increasing σ and decreasing T. The energy condition of martensitic transformation at Ms and critical shear stress (τc) is discussed from the viewpoint of kinetics and thus the TEM observed result that stacking fault energy is not zero at Ms temperature is reasonably explained. 17THE BEHAVIOUR OF1/2[112] SUPERLATTICE DISLOCATIONSIN POLYSY NTHETICALLY TWINNED CRYSTALS OF TiAl显示文摘The behaviour of 1/2〈112] superlattice dislocations in polysynthetically twinned (PST) crystals of TiAl at elevated temperatures have been investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results showed that 1/2〈112] superlattice dislocations play an important part in the deformation. At room temperature, 1/2〈112] superlattice dislocations can be activated easily but are often dissociated into partials trailed by faulted dipoles with super extrinsic stacking faults (SESFs) and difficult to move. In situ heating observations on the faulted dipoles showed that annihilation of the partials bounding the SESFs of the faulted dipoles occurred and resulted in discontinuous stacking faults along the direction of the partials at about 500 ℃. The faulted dipoles disappeared completely at about 600 ℃. The temperature range of annihilation coincided with that of brittle to ductile transition of TiAl PST crystals reported by Inui et al (1995). At 850 ℃, they are often dissociated into partials including super intrinsic stacking faults (SISFs) and can move easily. The experimental observations suggest that the behaviors of 1/2〈112] superlattice dislocations control the phenomenon of brittle to ductile transition of PST crystals of TiAl alloy.Yi Liu 1,2 , Dongliang Lin (T.
