1Creation of Air-Cooled Mn Series Bainitic Steels显示文摘The development and mechanical performances of new type air-cooled Mn series bainitic steels including granular bainitic steels,FGBA/BG duplex steels,CFB/M duplex steels,medium carbon bainite/martensite steels,cast bainitic steels invented by the authors are summarized.The novel series of bainitic steels are alloyed with Mn,and several series bainitic duplex microstructures can be easily obtained under the condition of air cooling through unique composition design.The invented idea,the principle of alloying design,the strengthening mechanism,and the evolution of the microstructure of new type air-cooled Mn series bainitic steels are presented.Furthermore,the applications in different fields of these Mn series air-cooled bainitic steels with different strength level are also introduced.It is suggested that the significance of the development of the air-cooled Mn series bainitic steel can be summarized as follows:reducing costs of both raw materials and production;good combination of strength and toughness;self-hardening with high bainitic hardenability by air cooling from hot working without additional quenching-tempering treatment or quenching procedure;large savings in energy resources;and reduced environmental pollution.FANG Hong-sheng FENG Chun ZHENG Yan-kang YANG Zhi-gang BAI Bing-zhe 2008Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2008,15,6:18
2Calcium channel blockers reduce severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) related fatality显示文摘Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS),an emerging tick-borne infectious disease caused by a novel phlebovirus (SFTS virus, SFTSV), was listed among the top 10 priority infectious diseases by the World Health Organization due to its high fatality of 12%-50% and possibility of pandemic transmission. Currently, effective anti-SFTSV intervention remains unavailable. Here, by screening a library of FDA-approved drugs, we found that benidipine hydrochloride, a calcium channel blocker (CCB), inhibited SFTSV replication in vitro. Benidipine hydrochloride was revealed to inhibit virus infection through impairing virus internalization and genome replication. Further experiments showed that a broad panel of CCBs, including nifedipine, inhibited SFTSV infection. The anti-SFTSV effect of these two CCBs was further an a lyzed in a humanized mouse model in which CCB treatment resulted in reduced viral load and decreased fatality rate. Importantly, by performing a retrospective clinical investigation on a large cohort of 2087 SFTS patients, we revealed that nifedipine administration enhaneed virus clearance, improved clinical recovery, and remarkably reduced the case fatality rate by >5-fold. 4Activation of mTORC1 in subchondral bone preosteoblasts promotes osteoarthritis by stimulating bone sclerosis and secretion of CXCL12显示文摘Increasing evidences show that aberrant subchondral bone remodeling plays an important role in the development of osteoarthritis(OA).However,how subchondral bone formation is activated and the mechanism by which increased subchondral bone turnover promotes cartilage degeneration during OA remains unclear.Here,we show that the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1(mTORC1)pathway is activated in subchondral bone preosteoblasts(Osterix+)from OA patients and mice.Constitutive activation of mTORC1 in preosteoblasts by deletion of the mTORC1 upstream inhibitor,tuberous sclerosis 1,induced aberrant subchondral bone formation,and sclerosis with little-to-no effects on articular cartilage integrity,but accelerated posttraumatic OA development in mice.In contrast,inhibition of mTORC1 in preosteoblasts by disruption of Raptor(mTORC1-specific component)reduced subchondral bone formation and cartilage degeneration,and attenuated post-traumatic OA in mice.Mechanistically,mTORC1 activation promoted preosteoblast expansion and Cxcl12 secretion,which induced subchondral bone remodeling and cartilage degeneration during OA.A Cxcl12-neutralizing antibody reduced cartilage degeneration and alleviated OA in mice.Altogether,these findings demonstrate that mTORC1 activation in subchondral preosteoblasts is not sufficient to induce OA,but can induce aberrant subchondral bone formation and secrete of Cxcl12 to accelerate disease progression following surgical destabilization of the joint.Pharmaceutical inhibition of the pathway presents a promising therapeutic approach for OA treatment.Chuangxin Lin Liangliang Liu Chun Zeng Zhong-Kai Cui Yuhui Chen Pinling Lai Hong Wang Yan Shao Haiyan Zhang Rongkai Zhang Chang Zhao Hang Fang Daozhang Cai Xiaochun Bai 2019Bone Research2019,7,1:12
5Clinical Characteristics of Children with Coronavirus Disease 2019 in Hubei, China显示文摘Since December 2019,COVID-19 has occurred unexpectedly and emerged as a health problem worldw ide.Despite the rapidly increasing number of cases in subsequent weeks,the clinical characteristics of pediatric cases are rarely described.A cross-sectional multicenter study was carried out in 10 hospitals across Hubei province.A total of 25 confirmed pediatric cases of COVID-19 were collected.The demographic data,epidemiological history,underlying discascs,clinical mani festations,laboratory and radiological data,treatments,and outcomes were analyzcd.Of 25 hospitalized patients with COVID-19,the boy to girl ratio was 1.27:1.The median age was 3 years.COVID-19 cases in children aged<3 years,3-6 years,and≥6-years patients were 10(40%),6(24%),and 9(36%),respectively.The most common symptoms at onset of ilness were fever(13[52%]),and dry cough(11[44%]).Chest CT images showed essential normal in 8 cases(33.3%),unilateral involvement of lungs in 5 cases(20.8%),and bilateral involvement in 11 cases(45.8%).Clinical diagnoses included upper respiratory tract infection(n=8),mild pneumonia(n=15),and critical cases(n=2).Two critical cases(8%)were given invasive mechanical ventilation,corticosteroids,and immunoglobulin.The symptoms in 24(96%)of 25 patients were alleviated and one patient had been discharged.It was concluded that children were susceptible to COVID-19 like adults,while the clinical presentations and outcomes were more favorable in children.However,children less than 3 years old accounted for majority cases and critical cases lied in this age group,which demanded extra attentions during home caring and hospitalization treatment.Fang ZHENG Chun LIAO Qi-hong FAN Hong-bo CHEN Xue-gong ZHAO Zhong-guo XIE Xi-lin LI Chun-xi CHEN Xiao-xia LU Zhi-sheng LIU Wei LU Chun-bao CHEN Rong JIAO Ai-ming ZHANG Jin-tang WANG Xi-wei DING Yao-guang ZENG Li-ping CHENG Qing-feng HUANG Jiang WU Xi-chang LUO Zhu-jun WANG Yan-yan ZHONG Yan BAI Xiao-yan WU Run-ming JIN 2020Current Medical Science2020,40,2:10
6Efficient one-pot synthesis of n-butyl levulinate from carbohydrates catalyzed by Fe_2(SO_4)_3显示文摘Butyl levulinate(BL) is a promising new candidate as diesel fuel and fuel additive. In this study, an efficient process for a one-pot synthesis of BL from biomass-derived carbohydrates in butanol medium with the catalysis of metal sulfates was developed. The catalytic activity of a series of metal sulfates for the synthesis of BL from fructose was investigated. Among various metal sulfates, ferric sulfate Fe_2(SO_4)_3 was found to be the most efficient catalyst, which gave a remarkably high BL yield of 62.8 mol% under the conditions of 463 K, 3 h, a catalyst dosage of 5.0 g/L, and fructose concentration of 25 g/L. Different carbohydrates including glucose, cellulose, inulin and sucrose were also used for one-pot synthesis of BL with the catalysis of Fe_2(SO_4)_3, showing the yields of 39.6, 30.5, 56.6 and 50.1 mol%, respectively. In addition,the recycling and reuse of Fe_2(SO_4)_3 was studied by characterizing them using powder X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). A plausible reaction pathway for the one-pot synthesis of BL from fructose was proposed. 8Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 9Comparing the Diagnostic Criteria of MAFLD and NAFLD in the Chinese Population:A Population-based Prospective Cohort Study显示文摘Background and Aims:Metabolic dysfunction-associ-ated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)is a new concept,pro-posed in 2020;however,its applicability in Asia populations has yet to be evaluated.Therefore,we aimed to compare the difference in epidemiological and clinical characteris-tics between MAFLD and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)among Asian populations.Methods:Based on the Jinchang cohort,30,633 participants were collected.The prevalence and incidence of MAFLD and NAFLD were used to analyze the epidemic characteristics and its overlapping effects.In addition,the corresponding clinical character-istics of the two diagnostic criteria populations were com-pared.Results:The prevalence rates of MAFLD and NAFLD were 21.03%and 18.83%,respectively.After an average 2.28-year follow-up,the incidence densities of MAFLD and NAFLD were 41.58 per 1,000 person-years and 37.69 per 1,000 person-years,respectively.With the increase of baseline age,body mass index(BMI),and waist circumfer-ence(WC)levels,the prevalence and incidence of MAFLD and NAFLD were on the rise(all ptrend<0.05).Among the total patients diagnosed at baseline or follow-up,most pa-tients had both MAFLD and NAFLD,accounting for 78.84%and 82.88%,respectively.Compared with NAFLD,MAFLD patients had greater proportions of males and metabolic diseases(diabetes,dyslipidemia),and had higher BMI,WC,liver enzymes,blood glucose,and lipid levels in the base-line diagnosis patients(p<0.05).Additionally,lean MAFLD patients had higher metabolic disorders than lean NAFLD patients(p<0.05).Conclusions:Compared with NAFLD,the newly proposed definition of MAFLD is more practical and accurate,and it can help identify more fatty liver pa-tients with high-risk diseases.Cheng Yu Minzhen Wang Shan Zheng Miao Xia Hongyan Yang Desheng Zhang Chun Yin Ning Cheng Yana Bai 2022Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,1:7
10FABP4 secreted by M1-polarized macrophages promotes synovitis and angiogenesis to exacerbate rheumatoid arthritis显示文摘Increasing evidence shows that adipokines play a vital role in the development of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Fatty acid-binding protein 4(FABP4),a novel adipokine that regulates inflammation and angiogenesis,has been extensively studied in a variety of organs and diseases.However,the effect of FABP4 on RA remains unclear.Here,we found that FABP4 expression was upregulated in synovial M1-polarized macrophages in RA.The increase in FABP4 promoted synovitis,angiogenesis,and cartilage degradation to exacerbate RA progression in vivo and in vitro,whereas BMS309403(a FABP4 inhibitor)and anagliptin(dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor)inhibited FABP4 expression in serum and synovial M1-polarized macrophages in mice to alleviate RA progression.Further studies showed that constitutive activation of mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1(mTORC1)by TSC1 deletion specifically in the myeloid lineage regulated FABP4 expression in macrophages to exacerbate RA progression in mice.In contrast,inhibition of mTORC1 by ras homolog enriched in brain(Rheb1)disruption specifically in the myeloid lineage reduced FABP4 expression in macrophages to attenuate RA development in mice.Our findings established an essential role of FABP4 that is secreted by M1-polarized macrophages in synovitis,angiogenesis,and cartilage degradation in RA.BMS309403 and anagliptin inhibited FABP4 expression in synovial M1-polarized macrophages to alleviate RA development.Hence,FABP4 may represent a potential target for RA therapy.Dong Guo Chuangxin Lin Yuheng Lu Hong Guan Weizhong Qi Hongbo Zhang Yan Shao Chun Zeng Rongkai Zhang Haiyan Zhang Xiaochun Bai Daozhang Cai 2022Bone Research2022,10,4:5

13Microstructural characterization of the Al/Cu/steel diffusion bonded joint显示文摘A vacuum hot-pressed diffusion method was used to prepare an Al/Cu/steel composite with a gradient structure. The Al/Cu interface was investigated layer by layer by means of scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry, electron probe microanalysis, and Vickers microhardness. The results show that two kinds of intermetallic compounds, Cu9Al4 adjacent to the Cu side and CuAl2 adjacent to the Al side, are formed in the interface of Al/Cu. 14The Changing Trends of HIV/AIDS in An Ethnic Minority Region of China: Modeling the Epidemic in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province显示文摘Objective This study was to investigate the HIV current situation in Liangshan prefecture, in order to predict prevalence and transmission trends. Methods Region-specific population, behavior, serosurveillence, and policy/program data (from 1995 to 2010) were gathered from various local and national organizations and applied to the Asian Epidemic Model (AEM) and used to derive estimates of future HIV prevalence, epidemic trends, and outcomes of intervention strategies. Results The AEM projections for 2020 included increased number of people living with HIV (PLHIV; to 136 617), increased HIV prevalence (2.51%), and 8037 deaths from acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) in this region. However, the overall HIV incidence rate (per 10 000) was projected to decline from 27 in 2015 to 22 in 2020, largely due to a predicted decrease in HIV infection rate (per 10 000) from 658 in 2013 to 621 in 2020 among intravenous drug users. In contrast, the cases of HIV infection per 10 000 was projected to increase from 420 in 2010 to 503 in 2020 among men who have sex with men, and from 8 in 2010 to 15 in 2020 among the general population. The predominant risk factor for HIV transmission over the next decade in Liangshan was casual sex. Community-based outreach strategies to reduce injected drug use and casual sex, and to promote condom use, were predicted as effective interventions to decrease HIV transmission. 15Comparison of the clinical efficacy of different fixation systems for the treatment of transverse patellar fractures显示文摘Purpose:This study was designed to compare the clinical efficacy of'8'and'0'wire fixation systems combined with double-head cannulated compression screws or Kirschner wires for the treatment of transverse patellar fractures.Methods:From September 2011 to September 2018,patients with closed transverse patellar fractures treated with a double-head compression screw or Kirschner wire were included and analyzed retrospectively.Patients with patellar fractures combined with distal femoral fractures,tibial plateau fracture or preoperative lower limb dysfunction were excluded.The patients treated with the'8'tension band wire fixation system and Kirschner wire were taken as Group A;those treated with the'0'fixation system and Kirschner wire were taken as Group B;those treated with the'8'fixation system and double-head cannulated compression screw were taken as group C;and those treated with the'0'fixation system and double-head cannulated compression screw were taken as group D.Six weeks and one year after the operation and every month from the third month after the operation until the fractures healed,an X-ray examination was performed to identify fracture healing.The time of fracture healing and postoperative complications of the four groups were compared.One year after the operation,knee function was evaluated by Bostman’s score.Results:During the study period,168 patients with patellar fractures were treated by operations,and 88 patients were excluded because the fracture type did not meet the requirements or because there were combined fractures of the distal femur or tibial plateau.As a result,80 patients were included in this study,20 in each group.All the patients were followed up for an average period of 12.2 months.Compared with Group A,patients in Group D presented less postoperative discomfort in the prepatellar region,quicker fracture healing,less fixation failure and better postoperative knee function scores(all p<0.05).The incidence of internal fixation failure in Group(B+D)was lower than that in Group(A+C)(p>0.05).Conclusion:The'0'wire fixation system combined with a double-head cannulated compression screw seems to be more beneficial than the other three fixation systems for the treatment of transverse patellar fractures.Zhi-Biao Bai Shi-Chang Gao Hai-Bo Zhou Chao Zhang Chun Chen 2021Chinese Journal of Traumatology2021,24,3:4
16Synthesis and Characterization of Fluorinated Polyurethane Containing Carborane in the Main Chain: Thermal, Mechanical and Chemical Resistance Properties显示文摘In this study, two fluorinated polyurethanes(FPU) containing carborane groups in the main chains were firstly designed and synthesized via the reaction of hexamethylene diisocyanate trimer(HDI trimer) with fluorinated polyesters(CFPETs) having hydroxyl-terminated carborane groups at room temperature. The structures of carborane fluorinated polyesters(CFPETs) and polyurethanes(CFPUs) were characterized by gel permeation chromatography(GPC), Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) measurements. The thermal stability, mechanical properties, Shore A hardness, solvent resistance and acid-alkali resistance of the carborane fluorinated polyurethane films were also studied. Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) tests manifested that the introduction of carborane groups into the main chain of fluorinated polyurethane endowed the obtained fluorinated polyurethane with excellent thermal stability. The thermal decomposition temperature of carborane fluorinated polyurethane(CFPU) increased by 190 °C compared with that of the carborane-free fluorinated polyurethane(FPU). Even at 800 °C, CFPU showed the char yield of 66.5%, which was higher than that of FPU(34.3%). The carborane-containing fluorinated polyurethanes also showed excellent chemical resistance and prominent mechanical property even after the cured films being immersed into Jet aircraft oil or 37% HCl for 168 h or at high temperature(700 °C). It is found that the structural characteristics of carborane group and the compacted structure of CFPU effectively improve the thermal stability, mechanical property, solvent resistance and acid-alkali resistance of the carborane-free fluorinated polyurethane. 17Mn-Series Low-Carbon Air-Cooled Bainitic Steel Containing Niobium of 0.02%显示文摘A new hot rolled low-carbon air-cooled bainitic steel containing Nb of 0.02% has been developed based on alloying design of the grain boundary allotriomorphic ferrite(FGBA)/granular bainite(BG)duplex steel.The as-rolled microstructure and mechanical properties of bainitic steel containing Nb of 0.02% were investigated by tensile test,optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results show that adding 0.02% of Nb obviously improves the strength without sacrificing toughness of the FGBA/BG steel.Adding 0.02% of Nb not only refines the grain boundary allotriomorphic ferrite grains but also promotes the refinement of granular bainite including its bainitic ferrite and M/A island.Any Nb(C,N)has been hardly observed in the steel containing Nb of 0.02%.It is suggested that the strengthening mechanism of Nb of 0.02% can be mainly attributed to the effect of Nb in solution(solute drag-like effect)on the phase transformation rather than the precipitation strengthening of Nb(C,N)particles.FENG Chun FANG Hong-sheng ZHENG Yan-kang BAI Bing-zhe 2010Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2010,17,4:4
18Bilioenteric anastomotic stricture in patients with benign and malignant tumors: prevalence,risk factors and treatment显示文摘BACKGROUND:Stricture formation at the bilioenteric anastomosis is a rare but important postoperative complication.However,information on this complication is lacking in the literature.In the present study,we aimed to assess its prevalence and predictive factors,and report our experience in managing bilioenteric anastomotic strictures over a ten-year period.METHODS:A total of 420 patients who had undergone bilioenteric anastomosis due to benign or malignant tumors between February 2001 and December 2011 were retrospectively reviewed.Univariate and multivariate modalities were used to identify predictive factors for anastomotic stricture occurrence.Furthermore,the treatment of anastomotic stricture was analyzed.RESULTS:Twenty-one patients(5.0%) were diagnosed with bilioenteric anastomotic stricture.There were 12 males and 9 females with a mean age of 61.6 years.The median time after operation to anastomotic stricture was 13.6 months(range,1 month to 5 years).Multivariate analysis identified that surgeon volume(≤30 cases)(odds ratio:-1.860;P=0.044) was associated with the anastomotic stricture while bile duct size(>6 mm)(odds ratio:2.871;P=0.0002) had a negative association.Balloon dilation was performed in 18 patients,biliary stenting in 6 patients,and reoperation in 4 patients.Five patients died of tumor recurrence,and one of heart disease.CONCLUSIONS:Bilioenteric anastomotic stricture is an uncommon complication that can be treated primarily by interventional procedures.Bilioenteric anastomosis may be performed by a surgeon in his earlier training period under the guidance of an experienced surgeon.Bile duct size>6 mm may play a protective role.Ji-Qiao Zhu Xian-Liang Li Jian-Tao Kou Hong-Meng Dong Huan-Ye Liu Chun Bai Jun Ma Qiang He 2017Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2017,16,4:4

20Extraction of coal-tar pitch using NMP/ILs mixed solvents显示文摘Coal-tar pitch(CP)is a promising carbon raw material for producing needle coke,carbon fiber etc.During processing,the H/C ratio,ash content,and quinoline insoluble(QI)in the CP are the key factors that influence the material preparation.In this study,NMP was selected to extract CP first;then[BMIM]Cl/NMP mixed solvent was used;and finally a series of ionic liquids(ILs)mixtures with NMP were developed for the extraction of CP to obtain the refined pitch.The extracts were analyzed via elemental analysis,TGA,FT-IR,and 13C-NMR.Results indicate that different NMP/IL mass ratios or different kinds of ILs have impact on the extraction yield.The relationship of the hydrogen to carbon(H/C)ratio changed with different solvents and QI extracts were obtained.Results showed that the H/C ratios changed little between NMP extracts and could be adjusted by changing the NMP/ILs mass ratio or using different ILs.The extracts are suitable for preparation mesophase pitch because of no ash content,low QI,and appropriate H/C ratios.As a result,NMP can be used to refine pitch.In addition,[BMIM]Cl is good mixed with NMP for CP extraction,because it can obtain a relatively high yield under the same extraction conditions.HUANG Jin Cheng LI Chun Shan BAI Lu NIE Yi WANG Er Qiang HE Yu Jian ZHANG Suo Jiang 2014Science China Chemistry2014,57,12:2
