| 4 | Dyslipidemia and Outcome in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke显示文摘Objective To study the relationship between dyslipidemia and outcome in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods Data about 1 568 patients with acute ischemic stroke were collected from 4 hospitals in Shandong Province from January 2006 to December 2008. National Institute of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) >10 at discharge or death was defined as the outcome. Effect of dyslipidemia on outcome in patients with acute ischemic stroke was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis and propensity score-adjusted analysis, respectively. Results The serum levels of TC, LDL-C, and HDL-C were significantly associated with the outcome in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Multivariate logistic regression analysis and propensity score-adjusted analysis showed that the ORs and 95% CIs were 3.013(1.259, 7.214)/2.655(1.298, 5.43), 3.157(1.306, 7.631)/3.405(1.621, 7.154), and 0.482(0.245, 0.946)/0.51(0.282, 0.921), respectively, for patients with acute ischemic stroke. Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test showed no significant difference in observed and predicted risk in patients with acute ischemic stroke(chi-square=8.235, P=0.411). | 6 | Psychological status and diabetes-related distress of Chinese type 1 diabetes patients in Jiangsu province, China显示文摘We sought to assess the psychological status and diabetes-related distress of Chinese type 1 diabetes patients in Jiangsu province,China.According to the World Health Organization criteria,42 patients with type 1 diabetes were enrolled in the study and assessed with the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)and Diabetes Distress Scale(DDS).All data were tabulated and statistical analyses were performed.The study summarized cases of 42 patients with type 1 diabetes,including 17 males and 25 females with a mean age of 23±12 years and a mean duration of diabetes of 7±6 years.Compared to the Chinese normative data,the SAS standard score was significantly higher,whereas SDS standard score had no statistical significance.The SAS standard score was most highly correlated with diabetes duration(γ=0.547,P=0.011).Additionally,19.5%of the patients had moderate or even severe diabetes-related distress and 21.4%had moderate or even severe emotional burden while 26.2%had regimen-related distress.Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the mean correlation between DDS and the four domains was high,particularly the emotional burden domain(estimatedβ=0.363,P<0.001)and regimen-related distress domain(estimatedβ=0.356,P<0.001).The correlation between SAS and DDS was positive(estimatedβ=0.039,P=0.027).In conclusion,the results showed the importance of psychological aspects in Chinese individuals with type 1 diabetes.Screening and treatment of psychological aspects may result in better adherence and increased quality of life for patients with diabetes. | Lulu Kong Yun Cai Gang Mei Rong Gu Xiaojiao Zhang Yao Qin Ya Cai Yan Li Hongwen Zhou Mei Zhang Tao Yang | 2013 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2013,27,5: | 9 |
| 7 | Correlation of the temporal and spatial expression patterns of HQT with the biosynthesis and accumulation of chlorogenic acid in Lonicera japonica flowers显示文摘Hydroxycinnamoyl-CoA quinate transferase(HQT)is one of the key enzymes in the biosynthesis of chlorogenic acid(CGA)in the flowers of Lonicera japonica.However,the spatiotemporal expression patterns of HQT and its relationship to the dynamics of CGA biosynthesis,transport,and storage remain largely unknown.In this study,we collected L.japonica flower samples at different growth stages(S1–S6)and examined the spatiotemporal expression pattern of HQT and the dynamic accumulation patterns of CGA using a combination of molecular and cytological techniques.Our results suggest that the spatiotemporal expression pattern of HQT is directly correlated with dynamic changes in CGA accumulation and distribution in L.japonica flowers.We further show that CGA is synthesized primarily in the cytoplasm and chloroplasts.CGA synthesized in the cytoplasm first accumulates in specialized vesicles and is then transferred to large central vacuoles for storage by fusion of CGA-containing vesicles with vacuoles.Furthermore,CGA synthesized in the chloroplasts appears to be transferred into the vacuoles for storage by direct membrane fusion between the tonoplast and the disrupted chloroplast membranes.Collectively,our results suggest that CGA is synthesized in chloroplasts and cytoplasm and finally transferred to the vacuole for long-term storage. | Yanqun Li Dexin Kong Mei Bai Hanjun He Haiyang Wang Hong Wu | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 7 |

| 9 | Damage patterns of retinal nerve fiber layer in acute and chronic intraocular pressure elevation in primary angle closure glaucoma显示文摘AIM:To observe the differences of damage patterns of retinal nerve fiber layer(RNFL)between acute and chronic intraocular pressure(IOP)elevation in primary angle closure glaucoma(PACG)using optical coherence tomography(OCT). METHODS:Twenty-four patients(48 eyes)with unilateral acute PACG(APACG)attack in the 6 months after admission and 36 patients(64 eyes)with chronic PACG(CPACG)were included in this prospective study.For all cases,IOP has been controlled under 21mmHg after treatment.Using stratus OCT, the RNFL thickness was assessed in eyes with PACG within 3 days,2 weeks,1,3 and 6 months after IOP was controlled. Repeated measures ANOVA was used to examine the changes of RNFL thickness at different time after IOP being controlled in both acute attack eyes and unaffected fellow eyes of APACG and eyes with CPACG. RESULTS:The mean RNFL thickness for the APACG-attacked eyes increased significantly within 3 days(121.49±23.84)μm after acute onset and then became thinner along with time[(107.22±24.72)μm at 2 weeks,(93.58±18.37)μm at 1 month,(84.10±19.89)μm at 3 months and(78.98±19.17)μm at 6 months].In APACG-attacked eyes,there were significant differences of average RNFL thickness at 5 different times after IOP was controlled(P<0.001).In the APACG unaffected fellow eyes and CPACG eyes,there were no significant differences in mean RNFL thickness at 5 different times(F=0.450,P=0.104 in APACG unaffected fellow eyes and F=1.558,P=0.200 in CPACG eyes).There was significant difference for interaction between time periods and groups(F=1.912,P=0.003). Its thermal stability and photoluminescent properties were studied. | 19 | Angiographic embolization in the treatment of intrahepatic arterial bleeding in patients with blunt abdominal trauma显示文摘BACKGROUND: Angiographic embolization (AE) as an adjunct non-operative treatment of intrahepatic arterial bleeding has been widely used. The present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of selective AE in patients with hepatic trauma.METHODS: Seventy patients with intrahepatic arterial bleeding after blunt abdominal trauma who had undergone selective AE in 10 years at this institution were retrospectively reviewed.The criteria for selective AE included active extravasation on contrast-enhanced CT, an episode of hypotension or a decrease in hemoglobin level during the non-operative treatment. The data of the patients included demographics,grade of liver injuries, mechanism of blunt abdominal trauma,associated intra-abdominal injuries, indications for AE,angiographic findings, type of AE, and AE-related hepatobiliary complications. RESULTS: In the 70 patients, 32 (45.71%) had high-grade liver injuries. Extravazation during the early arterial phase mainly involved the right hepatic segments. Thirteen (18.57%) patients underwent embolization of intrahepatic branches and the extrahepatic trunk and these patients all developed AE-related hepatobiliary complications. In 19 patients with AE-related complications, 14 received minimally invasive treatment and recovered without severe sequelae. | 20 | Arctic multiyear sea ice variability observed from satellites:a review显示文摘In comparison with seasonal sea ice(first-year ice,FY ice),multiyear(MY)sea ice is thicker and has more opportunity to survive through the summer melting seasons.Therefore,the variability of wintertime MY ice plays a vital role in modulating the variations in the Arctic sea ice minimum extent during the following summer.As a response,the ice-ocean-atmosphere interactions may be significantly affected by the variations in the MY ice cover.Satellite observations are characterized by their capability to capture the spatiotemporal changes of Arctic sea ice.During the recent decades,many active and passive sensors onboard a variety of satellites(QuikSCAT,ASCAT,SSMIS,ICESat,CryoSat-2,etc.)have been used to monitor the dramatic loss of Arctic MY ice.The main objective of this study is to outline the advances and remaining challenges in monitoring the MY ice changes through the utilization of multiple satellite observations.We summarize the primary satellite data sources that are used to identify MY ice.The methodology to classify MY ice and derive MY ice concentration is reviewed.The interannual variability and trends in the MY ice time series in terms of coverage,thickness,volume,and age composition are evaluated.The potential causes associated with the observed Arctic MY ice loss are outlined,which are primarily related to the export and melting mechanisms.In addition,the causes to the MY ice depletion from the perspective of the oceanic water inflow from Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and the water vapor intrusion,as well as the roles of synoptic weather,are analyzed.The remaining challenges and possible upcoming research subjects in detecting the rapidly changing Arctic MY ice using the combined application of multisource remote sensing techniques are discussed.Moreover,some suggestions for the future application of satellite observations on the investigations of MY ice cover changes are proposed. | BI Haibo LIANG Yu WANG Yunhe LIANG Xi ZHANG Zehua DU Tingqin YU Qinglong HUANG Jue KONG Mei HUANG Haijun | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,4: | 2 |
