Simulation analysis and match experiment on negative and positive pressures of pneumatic precision metering device for rapeseed显示文摘Positive and negative pressures determine the performance of pneumatic precision metering device for rapeseed. In order to investigate the relationship between positive and negative pressures of nozzles, fluid models of chamber were developed to simulate the airflow, and the k-εturbulence model was conducted to capture the pressure and velocity of nozzles.Through these efforts linear models were achieved.Meanwhile, the three-factor factorial split-split experiment was designed with negative pressure, positive pressure and the rotating speeds varying from-1000 to-4500 Pa,50 to 250 Pa and 10 to 45 r/min,respectively.The mathematical models were developed through employing the stepwise regression method. The sequence of influential factors on the quality of feed index was positive pressure, negative pressure and rotating speed. To obtain the match regulation of negative and positive pressures with“good”performance, the ratio coefficient K of negative and positive pressures was introduced to build mathematical models.Models relating ratio coefficient K with positive pressure were fitted in different rotating speeds. The results showed that the ratio coefficient was matchedГ∈[f1(x),f2(x)]from the fitting equations with the rotating speed of 10-30 r/min;while the rotating speed has greater influence when it was 35-40 r/min and the setsΛ∈[g1(x),g2(x)]were achieved, where x∈[100,250].This study could be conducted to adjust the rotating speed of the pneumatic system to optimize the ideal performance of the seeder.Yu Jiajia Liao Yitao Cong Jinling Yang Song Liao Qingxi 2014International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,3:21
Responses of root growth of Alhagi sparsifolia Shap. (Fabaceae) to different simulated groundwater depths in the southern fringe of the Taklimakan Desert, China显示文摘Alhagi sparsifolia Shap. (Fabaceae) is a spiny, perennial herb. The species grows in the salinized, arid regions in North China. This study investigated the response characteristics of the root growth and the distribution of one-year-old A. sparsifolia seedlings to different groundwater depths in controlled plots. The ecological adaptability of the root systems of A. sparsifolia seedlings was examined using the artificial digging method. Results showed that: (1) A. sparsifolia seedlings adapted to an increase in groundwater depth mainly through increasing the penetration depth and growth rate of vertical roots. The vertical roots grew rapidly when soil moisture content reached 3%-9%, but slowly when soil moisture content was 13%-20%. The vertical roots stopped growing when soil moisture content reached 30% (the critical soil moisture point). (2) The morphological plasticity of roots is an important strategy used by A. sparsifolia seedlings to obtain water and adapt to dry soil conditions. When the groundwater table was shallow, horizontal roots quickly expanded and tillering increased in order to compete for light resources, whereas when the groundwater table was deeper, vertical roots developed quickly to exploit space in the deeper soil layers. (3) The decrease in groundwater depth was probably responsible for the root distribution in the shallow soil layers. Root biomass and surface area both decreased with soil depth. One strategy of A. sparsifolia seedlings in dealing with the increase in groundwater depth is to increase root biomass in the deep soil layers. The relationship between the root growth/distribution of A. sparsifolia and the depth of groundwater table can be used as guidance for harvesting A. sparsifolia biomass and managing water resources for forage grasses. It is also of ecological significance as it reveals how desert plants adapt to arid environments.FanJiang ZENG Cong SONG HaiFeng GUO Bo LIU WeiCheng LUO DongWei GUI Stefan ARNDT DaLi GUO 2013Journal of Arid Land2013,5,2:13

Strategies to minimize hypertrophy in cartilage engineering and regeneration显示文摘Due to a blood supply shortage, articular cartilage has a limited capacity for selfhealing once damaged.Articular chondrocytes, cartilage progenitor cells, embryonic stem cells, and mesenchymal stem cells are candidate cells for cartilage regeneration.Significant current attention is paid to improving chondrogenic differentiation capacity;unfortunately, the potential chondrogenic hypertrophy of differentiated cells is largely overlooked.Consequently, the engineered tissue is actually a transient cartilage rather than a permanent one.The development of hypertrophic cartilage ends with the onset of endochondral bone formation which has inferior mechanical properties. In this review, current strategies for inhibition of chondrogenic hypertrophy are comprehensively summarized;the impact of cell source options is discussed;and potential mechanisms underlying these strategies are also categorized. This paper aims to provide guidelines for the prevention of hypertrophy in the regeneration of cartilage tissue. This knowledge may also facilitate the retardation of osteophytes in the treatment of osteoarthritis.Song Chen Peiliang Fu Ruijun Cong HaiShan Wu Ming Pei 2015Genes & Diseases2015,2,1:11
Study on the mechanism of copper-ammonia complex decomposition in struvite formation process and enhanced ammonia and copper removal显示文摘Heavy metals and ammonia are difficult to remove from wastewater,as they easily combine into refractory complexes. The struvite formation method(SFM) was applied for the complex decomposition and simultaneous removal of heavy metal and ammonia. The results indicated that ammonia deprivation by SFM was the key factor leading to the decomposition of the copper-ammonia complex ion.Ammonia was separated from solution as crystalline struvite, and the copper mainly co-precipitated as copper hydroxide together with struvite.Hydrogen bonding and electrostatic attraction were considered to be the main surface interactions between struvite and copper hydroxide.Hydrogen bonding was concluded to be the key factor leading to the co-precipitation.In addition, incorporation of copper ions into the struvite crystal also occurred during the treatment process.Cong Peng Liyuan Chai Chongjian Tang Xiaobo Min Yuxia Song Chengshan Duan Cheng Yu 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,1:9
Experimental studies on perturbed acoustic resonant spectroscopy by a small rock sample in a cylindrical cavity显示文摘A measurement system for acoustic resonant spectroscopy (ARS) is estab-lished,and the effects of resonant cavity geometry, inner perturbation samples and envi-ronmental temperature on the ARS are investigated. The ARSs of the small samples with various sizes and acoustic properties are measured. The results show that at the normal pressure, the resonant frequency decreases gradually with the increase of liquid tem-perature in the cylindrical cavity, while the resonant amplitude increases. At certain pres-sure and temperature, both the resonant frequency and the amplitude decrease greatly when there exist air bubbles inside the cavity fluid. The ARS is apparently affected by the sample porosity and the sample location in the resonant cavity. At the middle of the cavity, the resonant frequencies reach their maximum values for all of the measurement samples. The resonant frequencies of the porous rock samples are smaller than those of the com-pacted samples if other acoustic parameters are the same. As the sample is moved from the top to the middle of the cavity along its axis, the resonant amplitude increases gradu-ally for the compacted rocks while decreases for the unconsolidated rocks. Furthermore, the resonant amplitude increases firstly and then decreases if the porosity of the rock sample is relatively small. In addition, through the comparisons between the experimental and theoretical results,it is found that the effects of the acoustic parameters and sizes of the samples and the size of the cylindrical cavity on the laboratory results agree well with the theoretical ones qualitatively. These results may provide basic reference for the ex-periment study of rock acoustic properties in a low frequency using ARS.CHEN Dehua1,2,WANG Xiuming2,3,CONG Jiansheng1,XU Delong1,SONG Yanjie1 & MA Shuilong4 1. 10Mutation analysis of PAX6 gene in a large Chinese family with aniridia显示文摘Background Mutations in PAX6 gene have been shown to be the genetic cause of aniridia, which is a severe panocular eye disease characterised by iris hypoplasia. However, there is no study to do genetic analysis of aniridia, although there are several case reports in China. Here, we describe a mutation analysis of PAX6 in a large Chinese family with aniridia. Methods Genomic DNA from venous blood samples was prepared. Haplotype analysis was performed with two genetic markers (D11S904 and D11S935). Fourteen exons of the PAX6 gene were amplified from genomic DNA. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products of each exon were analysed by single strand conformational polymorphism (SSCP). The PCR products having an abnormal pattern were sequenced to confirm the mutation. Results Significant evidence for allele sharing in affected patients was detected suggesting that PAX6 mutation links to aniridia in this family. An extra band corresponding to exon 9 in PAX6 was found by single strand conformational polymorphism analysis in all the aniridia patients in this family, but not detected in the unaffected members. A mutation of C to T was detected by sequencing at the nucleotide 1080 that converts the Arg codon (CGA) to the termination codon (TGA).Conclusions Aniridia is caused by a nonsense mutation of PAX6 gene in the large Chinese kindred. Genetic test is important to prevent the transmission of aniridia to their offsprings in the kindred by prenatal diagnosis.SONG Shu-juan LIU Ying-zhi CONG Ri-chang JIN Ying HOU Zhi-qiang MA Zhi-zhong REN Guo-cheng LI Ling-song 2005Chinese Medical Journal2005,,4:7
A study of instability in a miniature flying-wing aircraft in high-speed taxi显示文摘This study investigates an instability that was observed during high-speed taxi tests of an experimental flying-wing aircraft. In order to resolve the reason of instability and probable solution of it,the instability was reproduced in simulations. An analysis revealed the unique stability characteristics of this aircraft. This aircraft has a rigid connection between the nose wheel steering mechanism and an electric servo, which is different from aircraft with a conventional tricycle landing gear system. The analysis based on simulation results suggests that there are two reasons for the instability. The first reason is a reversal of the lateral velocity of the nose wheel. The second reason is that the moment about the center of gravity created by the lateral friction force from the nose wheel is larger than that from the lateral friction force from the main wheels. These problems were corrected by changing the ground pitch angle.Simulations show that reducing the ground pitch angle can eliminate the instability in high-speed taxi.Song Lei Yang Hua Yan Xufeng Ma Cong Huang Jun 2015Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,3:7

Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Lung Cancer Patients显示文摘The prevalence of malnutrition is high among oncology patients in China. Although the Patient- Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is widely recognized as an important nutritional assessment tool, it has not been validated for Chinese cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to conduct an analysis of nutrition screening and assessment data to validate the Chinese version of the PG-SGA in Chinese patients with lung cancer. This was an observational, cross-sectional study of 2,000 consecutive adult patients with lung cancer treated at several tertiary hospitals in China. Anthropometric and patient descriptive data were collected. The PG-SGA generated a score for the nutritional risk and a global rating for the nutritional status. The internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity were evaluated, and a known-groups comparison and principal component analyses were conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity of the PG-SGA. The known-groups comparison demonstrated the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate lung cancer patients of different nutritional and body mass index (BMI) groups. A confirmatory factor analysis supported the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. In terms of the internal and external consistency, the PG-SGA demonstrated intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) up to 0.987. Alternative form validity was also demonstrated between Box 4 of the PG-SGA and the Karnofsky Performance Status score, with excellent external consistency (r = 0.972, P < 0.001). The construct validity was supported, and selected questionnaire dimensions were evident in the principal component analysis. Significant Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were demonstrated. The Chinese version of the PG-SGA demonstrated significant reliability and sufficient exploratory properties to support its validity. It seems to be a valid tool that can be used to access the nutritional status of Chinese lung cancer patients. The validity of the PG-SGA in Chinese cancer patients warrants further investigation in other cancer types.Zhen Ming Fu Hong Xia Xu Chun Hua Song Wei Li Zeng Qing Guo Yuan Lin Ying Ying Shi Wen Hu Yi Ba Su Yi Li Zeng Ning Li Kun Hua Wang Jing Wu Ying He Jia Jun Yang Cong Hua Xie Xin Xia Song Gong Yan Chen Wen Jun Ma Su Xia Luo Zi Hua Chen Ming Hua Cong Hu Ma Chun Ling Zhou Wei Wang Qi Luo Yong Mei Shi Yu Mei Qi Hai Ping Jiang Wen Xian Guan Jun Qiang Chen Jia Xin Chen Yu Fang Lan Zhou Yong Dong Feng Rong Shao Tan Tao Li Jun Wen Ou Qing Chuan Zhao Jian Xiong Wu Chang Wang Han Ping Shi The Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Common Cancers (INSCOC) Group 2016Journal of Nutritional Oncology2016,1,1:7
Particle Image Velocimetry Measurement of the Flow Field in the Play of the Drilling Pump Valve显示文摘The failure of a drilling pump is always due to the break of the drilling pump valve, which is one of the most important but also the weakest parts of the drilling pump. Over the decades, the degradation of drilling pump valves has been investigated extensively and various failure mechanisms have been proposed. However, no experimental test on the fluid has been successfully performed to support some of these mechanisms. In this paper, tests of the flow within the valve play are carried out to investigate the factors resulting in the failure of the valve. In the tests, particle image velocimetry(PIV) technology is employed to measure the flow field distribution of the valve play in the model. From these tests, the distributions of velocity and vorticity of fluid in various valves with different valve angles and different valve lifts are obtained, from which the features of flow fields are derived and generalized. Subsequently, a general rule of the influence of valve angles and valve lifts on the flow velocity is concluded according to chart analyses of maximal velocities and mean velocities. Finally, an analysis is made on the possibility of valve failure caused by erosion and abrasion in a working valve, with the application of the failure mechanisms of drilling pump valves. PIV measurement improves the study on the failure of the drilling pump valve, and the results show good agreement with previous computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations.YANG Guoan YIN Xin SONG Zheng HUANG Cong 2010Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2010,23,1:6
A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 17Overexpression of CmMYB15 provides chrysanthemum resistance to aphids by regulating the biosynthesis of lignin显示文摘MYB transcription factors are widely involved in the development of and physiological processes in plants. Here,we isolated the chrysanthemum R2R3-MYB family transcription factor CmMYB15,a homologous gene of AtMYB15.It was demonstrated that CmMYB15 expression was induced by aphids and that CmMYB15 could bind to AC elements, which usually exist in the promoter of lignin biosynthesis genes.Overexpression of CmMYB15 in chrysanthemum enhanced the resistance of aphids.Additionally, the content of lignin and the expression of several lignin biosynthesis genes increased. In summary, the results indicate that CmMYB15 regulates lignin biosynthesis genes that enhance the resistance of chrysanthemum to aphids.Cong An Liping Sheng Xinping Du Yinjie Wang Yi Zhang Aiping Song Jiafu Jiang Zhiyong Guan Weimin Fang Fadi Chen Sumei Chen 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:6
The effects of air temperature and precipitation on the net primary productivity in China during the early 21st century显示文摘Research on how terrestrial ecosystems respond to climate change can reveal the complex interactions between vegetation and climate, net primary productivity (NPP),an important vegetation parameter and ecological indicator, fluctuates within any given ecological environment or regional carbon budget. In this study, spatial interpolation was used to generate a spatial dataset, with 1-km spatial resolution, with meteorological data from 736 observation stations across China. An improved CASA model was used to simulate NPP over the period of 2001-2013 by taking into account land-cover change in every year during the same period. We propose the grid- based spatial patterns and dynamics of annual NPP,annual average temperature, and annual total precipitation based on the model. We also used the model to demonstrate the spatial correlation between NPP,temperature, and pre- cipitation in the study area with special focus on the impact of climate change in the early 21st century. Results showed that the spatial pattern of NPP over all of China is characterized by higher values in the southeast and lower values in the northwest. The spatial pattern of temperature indicates substantial latitudinal differences across the country, and the spatial pattem of precipitation shows a ribbon of decline from the southeast coast to the northwest inland. Most areas show an upward trend in NPP. Temperatures appear to decrease across the country during the global warming hiatus (1998-2008),and are accom- panied by an increase in precipitation over most regions. The correlation between NPP and annual average temperature is weak.Alternatively,NPP and annual total precipitation are positively correlated in northern and central China at a coefficient above 0.64(p <0.01)yet negatively correlated in the eastem parts of the Qinghai- Tibet Plateau and Sichuan Basin. Results can provide useful information for improving parameters for calibra- tion of the terrestrial ecosystem process model.Qianfeng WANG Jingyu ZENG Song LENG Bingxiong FAN Jia TANG Cong JIANGs Yi HUANG Qing ZHANG Yanping QU Wnlin WANG Wei SHUI 2018Frontiers of Earth Science2018,12,4:6

Clinical application of multidisciplinary teams in tumor therapy显示文摘Multidisciplinary team(MDT) model is a diagnostic and treatment model characterized by interdisciplinarity, integration, centralism, individualization, and precision and is becoming more common in the management of complex malignancies. MDT emphasizes team spirit and a personalized treatment strategy according to the actual condition of each patient. A cooperative and effective multidisciplinary team is an important guarantee for delivering high-quality services to patients. Under the guidance of a medical humanistic concept, MDT provides reasonable, effective, convenient, and a full range of excellent quality medical service to patients. The MDT maximizes patient benefits, and it is the developmental direction for large-scale general hospitals. At the same time, the MDT is also an important measure to strengthen the core competitiveness of hospitals. Here, we introduce the clinical application of the model in tumor therapy as well as the current state and development in our hospital.Cong Wang Dongjian Song Zhili Xu Jiaxiang Wang 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,2:5
