| 1 | Modulating macrophage activities to promote endogenous bone regeneration: Biological mechanisms and engineering approaches显示文摘A coordinated interaction between osteogenesis and osteoimmune microenvironment is essential for successful bone healing.In particular,macrophages play a central regulatory role in all stages of bone repair.Depending on the signals they sense,these highly plastic cells can mediate the host immune response against the exterior signals of molecular stimuli and implanted scaffolds,to exert regenerative potency to a varying extent.In this article,we first encapsulate the immunomodulatory functions of macrophages during bone regeneration into three aspects,as sweeper,mediator and instructor.We introduce the phagocytic role of macrophages in different bone healing periods(‘sweeper’)and overview a variety of paracrine cytokines released by macrophages either mediating cell mobilisation,vascularisation and matrix remodelling(‘mediator’),or directly driving the osteogenic differentiation of bone progenitors and bone repair(‘instructor’).Then,we systematically classify and discuss the emerging engineering strategies to recruit,activate and modulate the phenotype transition of macrophages,to exploit the power of endogenous macrophages to enhance the performance of engineered bone tissue. | Yiming Niu Zhenzhen Wang Yuchen Shi Lei Dong Chunming Wang | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,1: | 14 |
| 2 | A novel key pre-distribution scheme for wireless distributed sensor networks显示文摘A novel key pre-distribution scheme for sensor networks is proposed, which enables sensor nodes to communicate securely with each other using cryptographic techniques. The approach uses the rational normal curves in the projective space with the dimension n over the finite field F q . Both secure connectivity and resilience of the resulting sensor networks are analyzed. By choosing the parameters q and n properly, this key pre-distribution scheme has some advantages over the previous known schemes. In addition, if the number of the rational normal curves in the scheme becomes too large for an application, the size may be reduced by choosing a part of the curves randomly. | 4 | Carbendazim induces a temporary change in soil bacterial community structure显示文摘The effect of carbendazim applications on the diversity and structure of a soil bacterial community was studied under field conditions using temperature gradient gel electrophoresis (TGGE) and partial sequence analysis of PCR-amplified 16S rRNA gene. After four successive introductions of carbendazim at a level of 0.94 kg active ingredient (a.i.)/ha, the genetic diversity (expressed as Shannon index, H ) decreased from 1.43 in the control to 1.29 in treated soil. This harmful effect seems to increase with the concentration of carbendazim. The value of H in the soil treated with carbendazim at 4.70 kg a.i./ha was reduced to 1.05 (P 0.05). The structure of soil bacterial community was also affected after four repeated applications of carbendazim at levels of 0.94, 1.88 and 4.70 kg a.i./ha, as seen in the relative intensities of the individual band. However, the bacterial community in carbendazim-treated soil recovered to that in the control 360 d after the first treatment. | 5 | Boosting of reversible capacity delivered at a low voltage below 0.5 V in mildly expanded graphitized needle coke anode for a high-energy lithium ion battery显示文摘The rate performance and cycle stability of graphitized needle coke(GNC)as anode are still limited by the sluggish kinetics and volume expansion during the Li ions intercalation and de-intercalation process.Especially,the output of energy density for lithium ion batteries(LIBs)is directly affected by the delithiation capacity below 0.5 V.Here,the mildly expanded graphitized needle coke(MEGNC)with the enlarged interlayer spacing from 0.346 to 0.352 nm is obtained by the two-step mild oxidation intercalation modification.The voltage plateau of MEGNC anode below 0.5 V is obviously broadened as compared to the initial GNC anode,contributing to the enhancement of Li storage below the low voltage plateau.Moreover,the coin full cell and pouch full cell configured with MEGNC anode exhibit much enhanced Li storage ability,energy density and better cycling stability than those full cells configured with GNC and commercial graphite anodes,demonstrating the practical application value of MEGNC.The superior anode behaviors of MEGNC including the increased effective capacity at low voltage and superior cyclic stability are mainly benefited from the enlarged interlayer spacing,which not only accelerates the Li ions diffusion rate,but also effectively alleviates the volume expansion and fragmentation during the Li ions intercalation process.In addition,the above result is further confirmed by the density functional theory simulation.This work provides an effective modification strategy for the NC-based graphite to enhance the delithiation capacity at a low voltage plateau,dedicated to improving the energy density and durability of LIBs. | Dong Sun Lu Zhao Zhihua Xiao Kai Zhao Rundan Lin Hongmei Song Xilu Zhang Xinlong Ma Chong Peng Xiaoqiao Huang Xingxun Li Jinsen Gao Chunming Xu | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,11: | 2 |

| 15 | Boundary Layer Distributions and Cooling Rate of Cooling Sloping Plate Process显示文摘According to the principle of grain refining and slurry preparation by cooling sloping plate process, the distributions of boundary layers during melt treatment by cooling sloping plate were studied, and mathematic model of cooling rate was established. The calculation value approximately agrees with the experimental result. Laminar flow and turbulent flow exist on sloping plate surface commonly. The thickness of velocity boundary layer and the critical transfer distance from laminar flow to turbulent flow increase with the decrease of initial flow velocity. The thickness of temperature boundary layer increases with the increment of flow distance and the decrease of initial flow velocity. The melt cooling rate and melt thickness have an inverse proportion relationship. The melt cooling rate increases along the plate direction gradually when the initial flow velocity is lower than 1 m/s, the melt cooling rate keeps nearly a constant when the initial flow velocity is 1 m/s, when the initial flow velocity is higher than 1 m/s, the melt cooling rate decreases gradually. | 19 | Vacuum residue coking process simulation using molecular-level kinetic model coupled with vapor-liquid phase separation显示文摘In this work,a molecular-level kinetic model was built to simulate the vacuum residue(VR)coking process in a semi-batch laboratory-scale reaction kettle.A series of reaction rules for heavy oil coking were summarized and formulated based on the free radical reaction mechanism.Then,a large-scale molecularlevel reaction network was automatically generated by applying the reaction rules on the vacuum residue molecules.In order to accurately describe the physical change of each molecule in the reactor,we coupled the molecular-level kinetic model with a vapor–liquid phase separation model.The vapor–liquid phase separation model adopted the Peng-Robinson equation of state to calculate vapor–liquid equilibrium.A separation efficiency coefficient was introduced to represent the mass transfer during the phase separation.We used six sets of experimental data under various reaction conditions to regress the model parameters.The tuned model showed that there was an excellent agreement between the calculated values and experimental data.Moreover,we investigated the effect of reaction temperature and reaction time on the product yields.After a comprehensive evaluation of the reaction temperature and reaction time,the optimal reaction condition for the vacuum residue coking was also obtained. | Zhengyu Chen Xinhui Yao Dong Guan Suoqi Zhao Linzhou Zhang Chunming Xu | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,1: | 1 |
