| 2 | Experimental investigation of particle velocity distributions in windblown sand movement显示文摘With the PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer) measurement technology,the probability distributions of particle impact and lift-off velocities on bed surface and the particle velocity distributions at different heights are detected in a wind tunnel. The results show that the probability distribution of impact and lift-off velocities of sand grains can be expressed by a log-normal function,and that of impact and lift-off angles complies with an exponential function. The mean impact angle is between 28° and 39°,and the mean lift-off angle ranges from 30° to 44°. The mean lift-off velocity is 0.81-0.9 times the mean impact velocity. The proportion of backward-impacting particles is 0.05-0.11,and that of backward-entrained particles ranges from 0.04 to 0.13. The probability distribution of particle horizontal velocity at 4 mm height is positive skew,the horizontal velocity of particles at 20 mm height varies widely,and the variation of the particle horizontal velocity at 80 mm height is less than that at 20 mm height. | 4 | Sand storms:CFD analysis of Reynolds stress and collision stress of particles near sand bed显示文摘Sand storm is a serious environmental threat to humans.Sand particles are transported by saltation and suspension,causing soil erosion in one place and deposition in another.In order to prevent and predict sand storms,the causes and the manners of particle motions must be studied in detail.In this paper a standard k-ε model is used for the gas phase simulation and the discrete element method(DEM) is used to predict the movements of particles using an in-house procedure.The data are summarized in an Eulerian-Eulerian regime after simulation to get the statistical particle Reynolds stress and particle collision stress.The results show that for the current case the Reynolds stress and the air shear stress predominate in the region 20-250 mm above the initial sand bed surface.However,in the region below 3 mm,the collision stress must be taken into account in predicting particle movement. | Yu Zhang Jiecheng Yang Dayou Liu Xiaolin Wei Lixin Yu | 2010 | Particuology2010,8,4: | 2 |

| 19 | Ordered proposition fusion based on consistency and uncertainty measurements显示文摘The fusion of ordered propositions is an important and widespread problem in artificial intelligence,but existing fusion methods have difficulty handling the fusion of ordered propositions. In this paper, we propose a solution based on consistency and uncertainty measurements. The main contributions of this paper are as follows. First, we propose the concept of convexity degree, mean, and center of basic support function to comprehensively describe the basic support function of ordered propositions. Second, we introduce entropy as a measure of uncertainty in the basic support function of ordered propositions. Third, we generalize the indeterminacy of the basic support function and propose a novel method to measure the consistency between two basic support functions. Finally, based on the above researches, we propose a novel algorithm for fusing ordered propositions. | 20 | Interactive Activity Learning from Trajectories with Qualitative Spatio-Temporal Relation显示文摘Automatically analyzing interactions from video has gained much attention in recent years. Here a novel method has been proposed for analyzing interactions between two agents based on the tra jectories. Previous works related to this topic are methods based on features, since they only extract features from objects. A method based on qualitative spatio-temporal relations is adopted which utilizes knowledge of the model(qualitative spatio-temporal relation calculi) instead of the original tra jectory information. Based on the previous qualitative spatio-temporal relation works, such as Qualitative tra jectory calculus(QTC), some new calculi are now proposed for long term and complex interactions.
