Land surface temperature retrieval for arid regions based on Landsat-8 TIRS data:a case study in Shihezi,Northwest China显示文摘Scientific interest in geophysical information about land surface temperature(LST) is ever increasing, as such information provides a base for a large number of applications, including environmental and agricultural monitoring. Therefore, the research of LST retrieval has become a hot topic. Recent availability of Landsat-8 satellite imagery provides a new data source for LST retrieval. Hence, exploring an adaptive method with reliable accuracy seems to be essential. In this study, basing on features of Landsat-8 TIRS thermal infrared channels, we re-calculated parameters in the atmospheric transmittance empirical models of the existing split-window algorithm, and estimated the ground emissivity with the help of the land cover classification map of the study area. Furthermore, a split-window algorithm was rebuilt by virtual of the estimation model of the updated atmospheric transmittance and the ground emissivity, and then a remote sensing retrieval for the LST of Shihezi city in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region of Northwest China was conducted on the basis of this modified algorithm. Finally, precision validation of the new model was implemented by using the MODIS LST products. The results showed that the LST retrieval from Landsat-8 TIRS data based on our algorithm has a higher credibility, and the retrieved LST is more consistent with the MODIS LST products. This indicated that the modified algorithm is suitable for retrieving LST with competitive accuracy. With higher resolutions, Landsat-8 TIRS data may provide more accurate observation for LST retrieval. | Lei YANG YunGang CAO XiaoHua ZHU ShengHe ZENG GuoJiang YANG JiangYong HE XiuChun YANG | 2014 | Journal of Arid Land2014,6,6: | 17
Identification and Typing of Respiratory Adenoviruses in Guangzhou, Southern China Using a Rapid and Simple Method显示文摘Human adenoviruses (HAdVs), especially HAdV-B3, -E4 and -B7, are associated with Acute Respiratory Disease in Chinese children, and occasionally in adults. In order to establish and document the profiles of the respiratory adenovirus pathogen among children in Guangzhou, Southern China, a rapid, simple and practical method for identification and typing of respiratory adenoviruses was developed and evaluated. One pair of universal PCR primers was designed according to the conserved region of the hexon gene, which can detect not only HAdV-B3, -E4 and -B7, but also HAdV-B14, -F40 and -F41, with a specific 300bp PCR product. Three pairs of type-specific PCR primers were also designed according to the hypervariable regions of the hexon gene to type HAdV-B3, -E4 and -B7 by three independent PCR reactions, making it easy to optimize the PCR conditions. By using this method, one hundred throat swab specimens collected during Oct 2010 to Dec 2011 and suspected of being positive for adenoviral infection were identified and typed for adenoviruses. Of these samples, fifty-five were adenovirus-positive. The most common HAdV type was HAdV-B3, identified in 92.7% of samples, which is not only consistent with the data reported in 2004-2006, but also consistent with the recent report in Hangzhou, eastern China, indicating that HAdV-B3 has been circulating in Guangzhou, and maybe in eastern China, for many years. The method for the respiratory adenovirus identification and typing we developed is rapid, simple and practical, which has a potential in the real-time surveillance of circulating adenovirus strains and also to provide etiological evidence for the adenovirus-relative disease control and prevention in China. | Guiyuan Han Hongling Niu Suhui Zhao Bing Zhu Changbing Wang Yungang Liu Mingjie Zhang Shu Yang Feitong Liu Chengsong Wan Qiwei Zhang | 2013 | Virologica Sinica2013,28,2: | 10
Subtyping of type A influenza by sequencing the variable regions of HA gene specifically amplified with RT-PCR显示文摘The outbreak of a novel influenza A(H1N1) virus across the globe poses a threat to human health. It is of paramount importance to develop a rapid, reliable and inexpensive diagnostic procedure.Based on the bioinformatic information from public database, primers specific for influenza A virus surface protein haemagglutinin(HA) of several subtypes(including H1,H2,H3,H5,H7 and H9) were designed.Primer-specific PCR products were subjected to sequencing for accurately distinguishing H1 and H3 subtypes from others. This sequencing-based detection method will not only be applied to rapid detection and simultaneous subtype identification of new influenza A virus H1N1,but also provide the strategies to monitor other new types ofinfluenza virus with explosive potential. | YAN An DING GuoHui ZHOU ZhenFeng DONG Hui ZHANG YaKun ZHU Lei HE YunGang ZHANG GuoQing LI YiXue SUN Bing HUANG Zhong LAN Ke JIN Li WANG HongYan WANG XiaoNing YANG Zhong ZHONG Yang DAI JianXin GUO YaJun WANG Hao CHE XiaoYan WU Fan YUAN ZhenGan ZHANG Xi CAO ZhiWei ZHOU XiaoNong ZHOU JiaHai MA ZhiYong TONG GuangZhi ZHAO GuoPing JIN WeiRong XIONG Hui | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,13: | 3
Retrieval Snow Depth by Artificial Neural Network Methodology from Integrated AMSR-E and In-situ Data——A Case Study in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘On the basis of artificial neural network (ANN) model, this paper presents an algorithm for inversing snow depth with use of AMSR-E (Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer-Earth Observing System (EOS)) dataset, i.e., brightness temperature at 18.7 and 36.5GHz in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau during the snow season of 2002-2003. In order to overcome the overfitting problem in ANN modeling, this methodology adopts a Bayesian regularization approach. The experiments are performed to compare the results obtained from the ANN-based algorithm with those obtained from other existing algorithms, i.e., Chang algorithm, spectral polarization difference (SPD) algorithm, and temperature gradient (TG) algorithm. The experimental results show that the presented algorithm has the highest accuracy in estimating snow depth. In addition, the effects of the noises in datasets on model fitting can be decreased due to adopting the Bayesian regularization approach. | CAO Yungang YANG Xiuchun ZHU Xiaohua | 2008 | Chinese Geographical Science2008,18,4: | 1
Toughness improvement mechanism and evaluation of cement concrete for road pavement:A review显示文摘Traditional cement concrete has the disadvantages of low tensile strength, poor toughness, and rapid development of cracks while cracking, which causes a significantly negative influence on the safety and durability of concrete road pavement. This paper presents a state-of-the-art review of toughness improvement mechanisms and evaluation methods of cement concrete for road pavement. The review indicates that(i)The performance of concrete material depends on its material composition and internal structure.Aggregate size, cement properties and admixtures are the main factors of concrete toughness.(ii)The incorporation of rubber or fiber in pavement concrete improves the toughness of concrete materials. However, these additions must be maintained within a reasonable range. The amount of rubber and fiber are encouraged not more than 30%of the volume of fine aggregate and 2%of the volume of concrete, respectively.(iii)The toughness of pavement concrete material includes the toughness regarding bending, impact and fracture. The toughness of cement concrete for highway and municipal pavement is generally evaluated by bending and fracture toughness, while the toughness of airfield pavement concrete is more focused on impact toughness.(iv)The toughening measures of cement concrete for road pavement are mainly mixed with rubber or fiber, while these two materials have their defects, and the application of hightoughness cement concrete in the actual road still faces many challenges. For example, the synergistic effect of rubber and fiber, the development and application of new flexible admixtures, and the formulation of the toughness index of pavement cement concrete materials need further research. | Mingjing Fang Yiming Chen Yungang Deng Zhe Wang Mengjun Zhu | 2023 | Journal of Road Engineering2023,3,2: | 1
Underwater Target Detection Based on Reinforcement Learning and Ant Colony Optimization显示文摘Underwater optical imaging produces images with high resolution and abundant information and hence has outstanding advantages in short-distance underwater target detection.However,low-light and high-noise scenarios pose great challenges in un-derwater image and video analyses. To improve the accuracy and anti-noise performance of underwater target image edge detection,an underwater target edge detection method based on ant colony optimization and reinforcement learning is proposed in this paper.First, the reinforcement learning concept is integrated into artificial ants’movements, and a variable radius sensing strategy is pro-posed to calculate the transition probability of each pixel. These methods aim to avoid undetection and misdetection of some pixels in image edges.Second,a double-population ant colony strategy is proposed, where the search process takes into account global search and local search abilities.Experimental results show that the algorithm can effectively extract the contour information of underwater targets and keep the image texture well and also has ideal anti-interference performance. | WANG Xinhua ZHU Yungang LI Dayu ZHANG Guang | 2022 | Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,2: | 1
Ordered proposition fusion based on consistency and uncertainty measurements显示文摘The fusion of ordered propositions is an important and widespread problem in artificial intelligence, but existing fusion methods have difficulty handling the fusion of ordered propositions. In this paper, we propose a solution based on consistency and uncertainty measurements. The main contributions of this paper are as follows. First, we propose the concept of convexity degree, mean, and center of basic support function to comprehensively describe the basic support function of ordered propositions. Second, we introduce entropy as a measure of uncertainty in the basic support function of ordered propositions. Third, we generalize the indeterminacy of the basic support function and propose a novel method to measure the consistency between two basic support functions. Finally, based on the above researches, we propose a novel algorithm for fusing ordered propositions. Theoretical analysis and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art methods. | Dayou LIU Yungang ZHU Ni NI Jie LIU | 2017 | Science China(Information Sciences)2017,60,8: | 1
Improved Qualitative Trajectory Calculus for Pair-Activity Analysis显示文摘Trajectory provides the most robust feature for activity recognition in far-field surveillance videos,in which increasing attentions have been given to the use of qualitative methods with symbolic rather than real-value features.Qualitative trajectory calculus(QTC)showed a good performance in pair-activity from video. However,QTC and similar works are not good at dealing with noise, since they are all considering short-term features. To deal with the problems mentioned above, two types of long-term features, including sub-trajectory feature and point-trajectory feature, are designed. The sub-trajectory feature is a long-term feature in a coarse granularity, while the point-trajectory feature is a long-term feature in a relatively fine granularity.Using the sub-trajectory feature,a couple of trajectories are segmented into sub-trajectories and enveloping boxes are used to substitute the original sub-trajectory for capturing the major attributes. The point-trajectory feature describes the relationship between a single point in one trajectory and all parts of the other trajectory. The experiments on the human activity classification data demonstrated that our proposed methods are better than the original QTC and previous short-term features. | Shengsheng Wang Guangyao Wang Yungang Zhu Jingwen Shao | 2019 | Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2019,28,2: | 0

A Re-Parametrization-Based Bayesian Differential Analysis Algorithm for Gene Regulatory Networks Modeled with Structural Equation Models显示文摘Under different conditions, gene regulatory networks(GRNs)of the same gene set could be similar but different. The differential analysis of GRNs under different conditions is important for understanding condition-specific gene regulatory relationships. In a naive approach, existing GRN inference algorithms can be used to separately estimate two GRNs under different conditions and identify the differences between them. However,in this way,the similarities between the pairwise GRNs are not taken into account.Several joint differential analysis algorithms have been proposed recently, which were proved to outperform the naive approach apparently. In this paper,we model the GRNs under different conditions with structural equation models(SEMs)to integrate gene expression data and genetic perturbations, and re-parameterize the pairwise SEMs to form an integrated model that incorporates the differential structure. Then,a Bayesian inference method is used to make joint differential analysis by solving the integrated model. We evaluated the performance of the proposed re-parametrization-based Bayesian differential analysis(ReBDA)algorithm by running simulations on synthetic data with different settings. The performance of the ReBDA algorithm was demonstrated better than another state-of-the-art joint differential analysis algorithm for SEMs ReDNet obviously. In the end,the ReBDA algorithm was applied to make differential analysis on a real human lung gene data set to illustrate its applicability and practicability. | Yan Li Dayou Liu Yungang Zhu Jie Liu | 2020 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2020,,7: | 0
