1Black carbon aerosols and their radiative properties in the Pearl River Delta region显示文摘The climatic and environmental effects of atmospheric aerosols are a hot topic in global science community, and radiative properties of the aerosols are one of the important parameters in assessing climatic change. Here we studied the black carbon concentration and absorption coefficient measured with aethalometers, scattering coefficient measured with nephelometers, and single scattering albedo derived at an atmospheric composition watch station in Guangzhou from 2004 to 2007. Our main results are as follows. The data of black carbon concentration and absorption coefficients measured with instruments cannot be directly used until they are measured in parallel with internationally accepted instruments for comparison, calibration, and reduction. After evaluation of the data, the result shows that the monthly mean of BC concentration varies 3.1―14.8 μg·m-3 and the concentration decreases by about 1 μg·m-3 in average over the four years; It is higher in the dry season with a multi-year mean of 8.9 μg/m3 and lower in the rainy season with a multi-year mean of 8.0 μg·m-3; The extreme maximum of monthly mean concentration occurred in December 2004 and extreme minimum in July 2007, and a 4-year mean is 8.4 μg·m-3. It is also shown that monthly mean scattering coefficient derived varies 129 -565 Mm-1, monthly mean absorption coefficient 32-139 Mm-1, and monthly mean single scattering albedo 0.71-0.91, with annual mean values of 0.80, 0.82, 0.79 and 0.84 for 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007, respectively. Three instruments were used to take simultaneous measurements of BC in PM10, PM2.5, and PM1 and the results showed that PM2.5 took up about 90% of PM10 and PM1 accounted for about 68% of PM2.5, and BC aerosols are mainly present in fine particulates. The variability of BC concentrations is quite consistent between the Nancun station (141 m above sea level) and the Panyu station (13 m above sea level), which are 8 km apart from each other. 4Catalytic properties of Cu-Co catalysts supported on HNO_3-pretreated CNTs for higher-alcohol synthesis显示文摘HNO 3 -pretreated CNTs were employed as supports, and a special ultrasound-assisted impregnation method was designed to prepare supported Cu-Co catalysts for higher-alcohol synthesis from syngas. The catalysts used in this work were characterized by N 2 adsorption-desorption, TEM, XRD, H 2 -TPR, CO-TPD techniques. It was found that the pre-treatment procedure of CNTs remarkably promoted the catalytic properties of the Cu-Co/CNTs catalysts. For the Cu-Co catalyst supported on CNTs pre-treated by 68 wt% HNO 3 , some active components were introduced into the CNTs channels, their dispersions and the amount of strongly adsorbed CO-species were improved. 7Studies of biouptake and transformation of mercury by a typical unicellular diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum显示文摘Mercury(Hg) is a toxic heavy metal with its biogeochemical cycling in the ocean depending on the type and behavior of the oceanic microalgae.The present work aimed to evaluate bioaccumulation and transformation of Hg by Phaeodactylum tricornutum,a typical unicellular diatom,when exposed to the extremely high level of Hg in order to understand the possible mechanisms of acute stress response.P.tricornutum can accumulate Hg(its bioaccumulation factor is at 104 level),and the 96 h EC 50 was estimated to be 145μg L-1.The amounts of surface-bound Hg being about 1.2 to 4.8 times higher than those of intracellular Hg under exposure to HgCl 2(from 20 to 120μg L-1 concentrations) suggested that the cell wall of P.tricornutum is an important 'fence' towards Hg.After entering the P.tricornutum cell,Hg underwent transformation in its chemical form via interactions with high molecular weight sulfur-containing proteins(accounting for 68% of the intracellular Hg),and glutathione as well as the induced phytochelatins(PCs)(24% Hg) which alleviated the toxicity of HgCl2.In addition,the existence of organic ligands greatly influenced the uptake and transformation behavior of P.tricornutum towards HgCl2,especially in the case of cysteine(Cys),which increased the uptake of Hg,but alleviated the toxicity of Hg towards P.tricornutum due to the fact that Cys is an important precursor for the synthesis of PCs inside the cell.The uptake process of Hg by P.tricornutum was in agreement with the Freundlich isotherm,suggesting a typical heterogeneous sorption process.More importantly,we observed the conversion of HgCl2 into methylmercury inside the P.tricornutum cells and its release into the culture solution using HPLC/CVG-AFS and GC-MS,although the mechanism needs to be further investigated.DENG GuiFu ZHANG TianWen YANG LiMin WANG QiuQuan 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,2:7
8A Multicenter Study of Viral Aetiology of Community-Acquired Pneumonia in Hospitalized Children in Chinese Mainland显示文摘Community-acquired pneumonia(CAP) is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in children worldwide.In this study,we aimed to describe the aetiology of viral infection of pediatric CAP in Chinese mainland.During November2014 to June 2016,the prospective study was conducted in 13 hospitals.The hospitalized children under 18 years old who met the criteria for CAP were enrolled.The throat swabs or nasopharyngeal aspirates(NPAs) were collected which were then screened 18 respiratory viruses using multiplex PCR assay.Viral pathogens were present in 56.6%(1539/2721) of the enrolled cases,with the detection rate of single virus in 39.8% of the cases and multiple viruses in 16.8% of the cases.The most frequently detected virus was respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)(15.2%,414/2721).The highest detection rate of virus was in <6-month-age group(70.7%,292/413).RSV,human metapneumovirus(HMPV),human parainfluenza viruses(HPIVs) and influenza B virus(Flu B) showed the similar prevalence patterns both in north and south China,but HPIVs,Flu A,human bocavirus(HBoV),human adenovirus(HAdV) and human coronaviruses(HCoVs) showed the distinct circulating patterns in north and south China.Human enterovirus/human rhinovirus(HEV/HRV)(27.6%,27/98),HBoV(18.4%,18/98),RSV(16.3%,16/98) and HMPV(14.3%,14/98) were the most commonly detected viruses in severe pneumonia cases with single virus infection.In conclusion,viral pathogens are frequently detected in pediatric CAP cases and may therefore play a vital role in the aetiology of CAP.RSV was the most important virus in hospitalized children with CAP in Chinese mainland.Yun Zhu Baoping Xu Changchong Li Zhimin Chen Ling Cao Zhou Fu Yunxiao Shang Aihuan Chen Li Deng Yixiao Bao Yun Sun Limin Ning Shuilian Yu Fang Gu Chunyan Liu Ju Yin Adong Shen Zhengde Xie Kunling Shen 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,6:7

10Self-Healing Liquid Metal Magnetic Hydrogels for Smart Feedback Sensors and High-Performance Electromagnetic Shielding显示文摘Hydrogels exhibit potential applications in smart wearable devices because of their exceptional sensitivity to various external stimuli.However,their applications are limited by challenges in terms of issues in biocompatibility,custom shape,and self-healing.Herein,a conductive,stretchable,adaptable,self-healing,and biocompatible liquid metal GaInSn/Ni-based composite hydrogel is developed by incorporating a magnetic liquid metal into the hydrogel framework through crosslinking polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)with sodium tetraborate.The excellent stretchability and fast self-healing capability of the PVA/liquid metal hydrogel are derived from its abundant hydrogen binding sites and liquid metal fusion.Significantly,owing to the magnetic constituent,the PVA/liquid metal hydrogel can be guided remotely using an external magnetic field to a specific position to repair the broken wires with no need for manual operation.The composite hydrogel also exhibits sensitive deformation responses and can be used as a strain sensor to monitor various body motions.Additionally,the multifunctional hydrogel displays absorption-dominated electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding properties.The total shielding performance of the composite hydrogel increases to~62.5 dB from~31.8 dB of the pure PVA hydrogel at the thickness of 3.0 mm.The proposed bioinspired multifunctional magnetic hydrogel demonstrates substantial application potential in the field of intelligent wearable devices.Biao Zhao Zhongyi Bai Hualiang Lv Zhikai Yan Yiqian Du Xiaoqin Guo Jincang Zhang Limin Wu Jiushuai Deng David Wei Zhang Renchao Che 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,6:3
11Construction of 2D/2D Z-scheme MnO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)N_(4) photocatalyst for efficient nitrogen fixation to ammonia显示文摘Reducing nitrogen to ammonia with solar energy has become a wide concern when it comes to photocatalysis research.It is considered to be one of the more promising alternate options for the conventional Haber-Bosch cycle.Herein,2D g-C_(3)N_(4)composites with modifying ultrathin sheet MnO_(2-x)were prepared and used as nitrogen fixation photocatalyst.With the assistance of the nature of MnO_(2-x),the generation rate of NH_(3)reached 225 mmol g^(-1)h^(-1),which is more than twice over the rate of pristine 2D g-C_(3)N_(4)(107 mmol g^(-1)h^(-1)).The presence of ultrathin sheet MnO_(2-x)shortens the gap of the carriers to the surface of photocatalyst.Thus the speed of electron transfer gets increased.Besides,the construction of Z-scheme heterojunction boosts the separation and migration of photogenerated carriers.As a result,the nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR)performance gets enhanced.The work may provide an example of promoting the NRR performance of non-metallic compound.Limin Yu Zhao Mo Xianglin Zhu Jiujun Deng Fan Xu Yanhua Song Yuanbin She Huaming Li Hui Xu 2021Green Energy & Environment2021,6,4:3
