2On the symplectic superposition method for free vibration of rectangular thin plates with mixed boundary constraints on an edge显示文摘A novel symplectic superposition method has been proposed and developed for plate and shell problems in recent years. The method has yielded many new analytic solutions due to its rigorousness. In this study, the first endeavor is made to further developed the symplectic superposition method for the free vibration of rectangular thin plates with mixed boundary constraints on an edge. The Hamiltonian system-based governing equation is first introduced such that the mathematical techniques in the symplectic space are applied. The solution procedure incorporates separation of variables, symplectic eigen solution and superposition. The analytic solution of an original problem is finally obtained by a set of equations via the equivalence to the superposition of some elaborated subproblems. The natural frequency and mode shape results for representative plates with both clamped and simply supported boundary constraints imposed on the same edge are reported for benchmark use.The present method can be extended to more challenging problems that cannot be solved by conventional analytic methods.Dian Xu Zhuofan Ni Yihao Li Zhaoyang Hu Yu Tian Bo Wang Rui Li 2021Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2021,11,5:1

6A 3D-printed molybdenum-containing scaffold exerts dual pro-osteogenic and anti-osteoclastogenic effects to facilitate alveolar bone repair显示文摘The positive regulation of bone-forming osteoblast activity and the negative feedback regulation of osteoclastic activity are equally important in strategies to achieve successful alveolar bone regeneration. Here, a molybdenum(Mo)-containing bioactive glass ceramic scaffold with solid-strut-packed structures(Mo-scaffold) was printed, and its ability to regulate pro-osteogenic and antiosteoclastogenic cellular responses was evaluated in vitro and in vivo. We found that extracts derived from Mo-scaffold(Moextracts) strongly stimulated osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and inhibited differentiation of osteoclast progenitors. The identified comodulatory effect was further demonstrated to arise from Mo ions in the Mo-extract,wherein Mo ions suppressed osteoclastic differentiation by scavenging reactive oxygen species(ROS) and inhibiting mitochondrial biogenesis in osteoclasts. Consistent with the in vitro findings, the Mo-scaffold was found to significantly promote osteoblastmediated bone formation and inhibit osteoclast-mediated bone resorption throughout the bone healing process, leading to enhanced bone regeneration. In combination with our previous finding that Mo ions participate in material-mediated immunomodulation, this study offers the new insight that Mo ions facilitate bone repair by comodulating the balance between bone formation and resorption. Our findings suggest that Mo ions are multifunctional cellular modulators that can potentially be used in biomaterial design and bone tissue engineering.Beimin Tian Xuan Li Jiujiu Zhang Meng Zhang Dian Gan Daokun Deng Lijuan Sun Xiaotao He Chengtie Wu Faming Chen 2022International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,4:1

10Smart epidermal electrophysiological electrodes:Materials, structures, and algorithms显示文摘Epidermal electrophysiological monitoring has garnered significant attention for its potential in medical diagnosis and healthcare, particularly in continuous signal recording. However, simultaneously satisfying skin compliance, mechanical properties, environmental adaptation, and biocompatibility to avoid signal attenuation and motion artifacts is challenging, and accurate physiological feature extraction necessitates effective signal-processing algorithms. This review presents the latest advancements in smart electrodes for epidermal electrophysiological monitoring, focusing on materials, structures, and algorithms.First, smart materials incorporating self-adhesion,self-healing,and self-sensing functions offer promising solutions for long-term monitoring.Second, smart meso-structures,together with micro/nanostructures endowed the electrodes with self-adaption and multifunctionality.Third, intelligent algorithms give smart electrodes a“soul,”facilitating faster and more-accurate identification of required information via automatic processing of collected electrical signals. Finally, the existing challenges and future opportunities for developing smart electrodes are discussed.Recognized as a crucial direction for next-generation epidermal electrodes, intelligence holds the potential for extensive, effective, and transformative applications in the future.Yuanming Ye Haochao Wang Yanqiu Tian Kunpeng Gao Minghao Wang Xuanqi Wang Zekai Liang Xiaoli You Shan Gao Dian Shao Bowen Ji 2023Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering2023,6,4:0
11Natural variation in STAYGREEN contributes to low-temperature tolerance in cucumber显示文摘Low-temperature(LT)stress threatens cucumber production globally;however, the molecular mechanisms underlying LT tolerance in cucumber remain largely unknown. Here, using a genome-wide association study(GWAS),we found a naturally occurring single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)in the STAYGREEN(CsSGR)coding region at the gLTT5.1 locus associated with LT tolerance.Knockout mutants of CsSGR generated by clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated nuclease 9 exhibit enhanced LT tolerance,in particularly, increased chlorophyll(Chl)content and reduced reactive oxygen species(ROS)accumulation in response to LT.Moreover, the C-repeat Binding Factor 1(CsCBF1)transcription factor can directly activate the expression of CsSGR.We demonstrate that the LT-sensitive haplotype CsSGRHapA,but not the LT-tolerant haplotype CsSGR^(HapG)could interact with NON-YELLOW COLORING 1(CsNYC1)to mediate Chl degradation.Geographic distribution of the CsSGR haplotypes indicated that the CsSGR^(HapG)was selected in cucumber accessions from high latitudes, potentially contributing to LT tolerance during cucumber cold-adaptation in these regions.CsSGR mutants also showed enhanced tolerance to salinity, water deficit, and Pseudoperonospora cubensis, thus CsSGR is an elite target gene for breeding cucumber varieties with broad-spectrum stress tolerance.Collectively, our findings provide new insights into LT tolerance and will ultimately facilitate cucumber molecular breeding.Shaoyun Dong Caixia Li Haojie Tian Weiping Wang Xueyong Yang Diane MBeckles Xiaoping Liu Jiantao Guan Xingfang Gu Jiaqiang Sun Han Miao Shengping Zhang 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,12:0
12Identifying the potential transcriptional regulatory network in Hirschsprung disease by integrated analysis of microarray datasets显示文摘Objective Hirschsprung disease(HSCR)is one of the common neurocristopathies in children, which is associated with at least 20 genes and involves a complex regulatory mechanism.Transcriptional regulatory network(TRN)has been commonly reported in regulating gene expression and enteric nervous system development but remains to be investigated in HSCR.This study aimed to identify the potential TRN implicated in the pathogenesis and diagnosis of HSCR.Methods Based on three microarray datasets from the Gene Expression Omnibus database, the multiMiR package was used to investigate the microRNA(miRNA)-target interactions, followed by Gene Ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)enrichment analyses. Then,we collected transcription factors(TFs)from the TransmiR database to construct the TF-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network and used cytoHubba to identify the key modules. Finally, the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was determined and the integrated diagnostic models were established based on machine learning by the support vector machine method. Results We identified 58 hub differentially expressed microRNAs(DEMis)and 16 differentially expressed mRNAs(DEMs).The robust target genes of DEMis and DEMs mainly enriched in several GO/KEGG terms, including neurogenesis,cell-substrate adhesion,PI3K-Akt,Ras/mitogen-activated protein kinase and Rho/ROCK signaling.Moreover,2 TFs(TP53and TWIST1),4 miRNAs(has-miR-107,has-miR-10b-5p,has-miR-659-3p,and has-miR-371a-5p),and 4 mRNAs(PIM3,CHUK,F2RL1,and CA1)were identified to construct the TF-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network.ROC analysis revealed a strong diagnostic value of the key TRN regulons(all area under the curve values were more than 0.8).Conclusion This study suggests a potential role of the TF-miRNA-mRNA network that can help enrich the connotation of HSCR pathogenesis and diagnosis and provide new horizons for treatment.Wenyao Xu Hui Yu Dian Chen Weikang Pan Weili Yang Jing Miao Wanying Jia Baijun Zheng Yong Liu Xinlin Chen Ya Gao Donghao Tian 2023World Journal of Pediatric Surgery2023,6,2:0
