| 1 | Numerical and Experimental Investigation on Heat Propagation Through Composite Sinter Bed With Non-Uniform Voidage:Part Ⅰ Mathematical Model and Its Experimental Verification显示文摘The mechanisms of heat transfer through the sinter beds of the MEBIOS process are discussed and their comprehensive mathematical model is proposed.The MEBIOS process,the concept of which has been proposed earlier by the authors,allows using both coarse and fine particles of iron ores in the same sinter bed.The study includes two parts.The first part describes the model content and the results of its experimental verification.The model accounts for coal combustion,limestone decomposition,moisture evaporation/condensation,and melting/solidifying of solid phases.The model predictions are in good agreement with the experimental data.Typical numerical results of the sintering process and the key parameters influencing the process efficiency are discussed in the second part of the study. | Sergey V Komarov Hiroyuki Shibata Naohito Hayashi Eiki Kasai | 2010 | Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2010,17,10: | 5 |
| 2 | Ultraslim endoscopy with flexible spectral imaging color enhancement for upper gastrointestinal neoplasms显示文摘AIM:To conduct a preliminary study on the effect of flexible spectral imaging color enhancement (FICE) used in combination with ultraslim endoscopy by focusing on the enhanced contrast between tumor and non-tumor lesions. METHODS: We examined 50 lesions of 40 patients with epithelial tumors of the upper gastrointestinal tract before endoscopic submucosal dissection using ultraslim endoscopy with conventional natural color imag ing and with FICE imaging. We retrospectively invest igated the effect of the use of FICE on endoscopic diagn osis in comparison with normal light. RESULTS: Visibility of the epithelial tumors of the upper gastrointestinal tract with FICE was superior to normal light in 54% of the observations and comparable to normal light in 46% of the observations. There was no lesion for which visibility with FICE was inferior to that with normal light. FICE visualized 69.6% of hyperemic lesions and 58.8% of discolored lesions better than conventional endoscopy with natural color imaging. FICE sign if icantly improved the visibility of lesions with hyp ere mia or discoloration compared with normocolored lesions. | 4 | Vaporization behavior of lead from the FeO-CaO-SiO_2-Al_2O_3 slag system显示文摘Vaporization behavior (1163-1463 K) of lead in the slag system of FeO-CaO-SiO2-Al2O3 with CaCl2 was examined. A thermodynamic estimation with the principle of Gibbs free energy minimization showed that the major vapor species from the sam-ple of the FeO-CaO-SiO2-Al2O3 system+PbO+CaCl2 were metallic Pb, PbCl, PbCl2, and FeCl2, at the experimental temperature range. The experimental results show that the mole ratio of vaporized Cl in lead chlorides to vaporized Pb, simply expressed as Cl/Pb, decreases with increasing temperature. The larger Cl/Pb means a larger ratio of gaseous PbCl2, since metallic Pb and PbCl vapors are formed in a similar reduction atmosphere. The evaporation is initially rapid and becomes steady after holding for 10 min. Gaseous PbCl2 is mainly formed during the heating period, and at the holding stage, it reacts with FeO to produce gaseous FeCl2. With regard to slag composition, FeO content and basicity significantly affect the evaporation of lead. | 8 | Effects of Feces on Spatial Distribution Patterns of Grazed Grassland Communities显示文摘Animals excrete feces during grazing.The uneven distribution of feces causes a spatial heterogeneity in grassland communities.In this study,we attempted to clarify the effects of feces on spatial distribution patterns of plant species.A field study was conducted on four grasslands each grazed by a single cow.These four grasslands were defined as Poa pratensis(Kentucky bluegrass) dominated grassland without feces(PoF-),Poa pratensis dominated grassland with feces(PoF+),Zoysia japonica Steud.(Japanese lawngrass) dominated grassland without feces(ZyF-),and Zoysia japonica Steud.dominated grassland with feces(ZyF+).A 50 m line that transects 100 equally spaced quadrats(L-quadrats) was drawn on each of the four grasslands.Each quadrat was 0.50 m × 0.50 m in size and consisted of four equal-area cells of 0.25 m × 0.25 m(S-quadrats).The occurrences of all plant species were recorded in each S-quadrat.The binomial distribution(BD) and beta-binomial distribution(BBD) were used to represent the variation in spatial patterns.The BBD provided a significant description of the frequency distribution of plants per quadrat.A power law was used to calculate the spatial heterogeneity of each species together with the community heterogeneity.The results revealed that the plants on each of the four grasslands were aggregatively distributed.The ZyF+ exhibited greater spatial heterogeneity than the ZyF-due to the uneven deposition of feces by cows grazing on the grasslands.Additionally we also found that the feces had effect on the heterogeneity inZyF+ and did not have effect in PoF+. | Tamanna Islam Eiki Fukuda Masae Shiyomi Molla Rahman Shaibur Shigenao Kawai Mikinori Tsuiki | 2010 | Agricultural Sciences in China2010,9,1: | 2 |
