2Olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions of COVID-19 patients in China:A multicenter study显示文摘Introduction:With the spread of the epidemic worldwide,an increasing number of doctors abroad have observed the following atypical symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19):olfactory or taste disorders.Therefore,clarifying the incidence and clinical characteristics of olfactory and taste disorders in Chinese COVID-19 patients is of great significance and urgency.Materials and Methods:A retrospective study was conducted,which included 229 severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 confirmed patients,through face-to-face interviews and telephone follow-up.Following the completion of questionnaires,the patients participating in the study,were categorized according to the degree of olfactory and taste disorders experienced,and the proportion of each clinical type of patient with olfactory and taste disorders and the time when symptoms appeared were recorded.Results:Among the 229 patients,31(13.54%)had olfactory dysfunction,and 44(19.21%)had gustatory dysfunction.For the patients with olfactory dysfunction,6(19.35%)developed severe disease and became critically ill.Olfactory dysfunction appeared before the other symptoms in 21.43%of cases.The proportion of females with olfactory and gustatory dysfunction was higher than that of males(P<0.001).Conclusions:The incidence of olfactory and gustatory dysfunction was much lower than that reported abroad;the prognosis of patients with olfactory dysfunction is relatively favorable;olfactory and gustatory dysfunction can be used as a sign for early screening;females are more prone to olfactory and gustatory dysfunction.Jianhui Li Yi Sun Enqiang Qin Hu Yuan Mingbo Liu Wenqi Yi Zhu Chen Chengcheng Huang Fengjie Zhou Ruiyao Chen Leibo Zhang Ning Yu Qiong Liu Xuejun Zhou Jingjing He Boyu Li Fusheng Wang Changliang Yang Shiming Yang 2022World Journal of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery2022,8,4:2
3Lazy Scheduling Based Disk Energy Optimization Method显示文摘Reducing the energy consumption of the storage systems disk read/write requests plays an important role in improving the overall energy efficiency of high-performance computing systems.We propose a method to reduce disk energy consumption by delaying the dispatch of disk requests to the end of a time window,which we call time window-based lazy scheduling.We prove that sorting requests within a single time window can reduce the disk energy consumption,and we discuss the relationship between the size of the time window and the disk energy consumption,proving that the energy consumption is highly likely to decrease with increasing window size.To exploit this opportunity,we propose the Lazy Scheduling based Disk Energy Optimization(LSDEO)algorithm,which adopts a feedback method to periodically adjust the size of the time window,and minimizes the local disk energy consumption by sorting disk requests within each time window.We implement the LSDEO algorithm in an OS kernel and conduct both simulations and actual measurements on the algorithm,confirming that increasing the time window increases disk energy savings.When the average request arrival rate is 300 and the threshold of average request response time is 50 ms,LSDEO can yield disk energy savings of 21.5%.Yong Dong Juan Chen Yuhua Tang Junjie Wu Huiquan Wang Enqiang Zhou 2020Tsinghua Science and Technology2020,25,2:1
4Expanding antiviral therapy indications for HBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis B patients with normal ALT and positive HBV DNA显示文摘With the improved efficacy and accessibility of antiviral agents as well as the concerns about disease progression,there is a hot discussion on whether HBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis B(CHB)patients with normal alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and positive HBV DNA should be treated.According to the international guidelines on the stages of the natural history of HBV infection,HBeAgnegative CHB patients with normal ALT and positive HBV DNA can be divided into two groups:one is the well-known“inactive carrier phase”,which is defined as serum HBV DNA<2000 IU/ml and no significant liver inflammation;and the other is the“indeterminate phase”,which is defined as serum HBV DNA≥2000 IU/mL regardless of the pathological changes in liver tissue,or HBV DNA<2000 IU/mL but accompanied by significant pathological changes in the liver.In this minireview,we will expound the disease characteristics,disease progression,and clinical management status of these two groups.Based on the analysis,we propose that HBeAg-negative patients with normal ALT but detectable serum HBV DNA should be treated,regardless of their age,family history of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)or the severity of liver necroinflammation.Expanding the indications of antiviral therapy will help improve the survival and quality of life of patients by preventing disease progression,and consequently reduce the risk of HCC development.Jing Zhou Fada Wang Lanqing Li Enqiang Chen 2022Precision Clinical Medicine2022,5,4:1
5Analyzing time-dimension communication characterizations for representative scientific applications on supercomputer systems显示文摘Exascale computing is one of the major challenges of this decade,and several studies have shown that communications are becoming one of the bottlenecks for scaling parallel applications.The analysis on the characteristics of communications can effectively aid to improve the performance of scientific applications.In this paper,we focus on the statistical regularity in time-dimension communication characteristics for representative scientific applications on supercomputer systems,and then prove that the distribution of communication-event intervals has a power-law decay,which is common in scientific interests and human activities.We verify the distribution of communication-event intervals has really a power-law decay on the Tianhe-2 supercomputer,and also on the other six parallel systems with three different network topologies and two routing policies.In order to do a quantitative study on the power-law distribution,we exploit two groups of statistics:bursty vs.memory and periodicity vs.dispersion.Our results indicate that the communication events show a“strong-bursty and weak-memory”characteristic and the communication event intervals show the periodicity and the dispersion.Finally,our research provides an insight into the relationship between communication optimizations and time-dimension communication characteristics.Juan CHEN Wenhao ZHOU Yong DONG Zhiyuan WANG Chen CUI Feihao WU Enqiang ZHOU Yuhua TANG 2019Frontiers of Computer Science2019,13,6:0
