| 1 | Tensile and Fracture Properties of 15 vol% SiC_p/2009Al Composites Fabricated by Hot Isostatic Pressing and Hot Extrusion Processes显示文摘15 vol% silicon carbide particle(Si Cp)-reinforced 2009 Al matrix(15 vol% Si Cp/2009Al) composites were fabricated by hot isostatic pressing(HIP) and hot extrusion processes. The tensile and fracture properties of 15 vol% Si Cp/2009 Al were studied. The results showed that hot extrusion increased the ultimate tensile strength(UTS), yield strength(YS), elongation(EL), reduction in area(RA), and fracture toughness of the composites. The heat treatment resulted in the increase in UTS, YS, and fracture toughness, but a decrease in EL and RA. Both hot extrusion and heat treatment had negligible effects on elastic modulus(E). With the increase of Si Cpsize, the UTS, YS, and E decreased, but the EL and RA increased. | 4 | Beneficial Effects of Celastrol on Immune Balance by Modulating Gut Microbiota in Experimental Ulcerative Colitis Mice显示文摘Ulcerative colitis(UC)is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease caused by many factors including colonic inflammation and microbiota dysbiosis.Previous studies have indicated that celastrol(CSR)has strong anti-inflammatory and immune-inhibitory effects.Here,we investigated the effects of CSR on colonic inflammation and mucosal immunity in an experimental colitis model,and addressed the mechanism by which CSR exerts the protective effects.We characterized the therapeutic effects and the potential mechanism of CSR on treating UC using histological staining,intestinal permeability assay,cytokine assay,flow cytometry,fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT),16S rRNA sequencing,untargeted metabolomics,and cell differentiation.CSR administration significantly ameliorated the dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)-induced colitis in mice,which was evidenced by the recovered body weight and colon length as well as the decreased disease activity index(DAI)score and intestinal permeability.Meanwhile,CSR down-regulated the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and up-regulated the amount of anti-inflammatory mediators at both mRNA and protein levels,and improved the balances of Treg/Th1 and Treg/Th17 to maintain the colonic immune homeostasis.Notably,all the therapeutic effects were exerted in a gut microbiota-dependent manner.Furthermore,CSR treatment increased the gut microbiota diversity and changed the compositions of the gut microbiota and metabolites,which is probably associated with the gut microbiota-mediated protective effects.In conclusion,this study provides the strong evidence that CSR may be a promising therapeutic drug for UC. | Mingyue Li Weina Guo Yalan Dong Wenzhu Wang Chunxia Tian Zili Zhang Ting Yu Haifeng Zhou Yang Gui Kaming Xue Junyi Li Feng Jiang Alexey Sarapultsev Huafang Wang Ge Zhang Shanshan Luo Heng Fan Desheng Hu | 2022 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,2: | 1 |
| 5 | Cumulus cloud modeling from images based on VAE-GAN显示文摘Background Cumulus clouds are important elements in creating virtual outdoor scenes.Modeling cumulus clouds that have a specific shape is difficult owing to the fluid nature of the cloud.Image-based modeling is an efficient method to solve this problem.Because of the complexity of cloud shapes,the task of modeling the cloud from a single image remains in the development phase.Methods In this study,a deep learning-based method was developed to address the problem of modeling 3D cumulus clouds from a single image.The method employs a three-dimensional autoencoder network that combines the variational autoencoder and the generative adversarial network.First,a 3D cloud shape is mapped into a unique hidden space using the proposed autoencoder.Then,the parameters of the decoder are fixed.A shape reconstruction network is proposed for use instead of the encoder part,and it is trained with rendered images.To train the presented models,we constructed a 3D cumulus dataset that included 2003D cumulus models.These cumulus clouds were rendered under different lighting parameters.Results The qualitative experiments showed that the proposed autoencoder method can learn more structural details of 3D cumulus shapes than existing approaches.Furthermore,some modeling experiments on rendering images demonstrated the effectiveness of the reconstruction model.Conclusion The proposed autoencoder network learns the latent space of 3D cumulus cloud shapes.The presented reconstruction architecture models a cloud from a single image.Experiments demonstrated the effectiveness of the two models. | Zili ZHANG Yunchi CEN Fan ZHANG Xiaohui LIANG | 2021 | Virtual Reality & Intelligent Hardware2021,3,2: | 1 |

| 7 | 用于实时皮肤创面愈合的超强工程化蛋白凝聚体黏合剂显示文摘Adhesives have attracted a great deal of attention as an advanced modality in biomedical engineering because of their unique wound management behavior.However,it is a grand challenge for current adhesive systems to achieve robust adhesion due to their tenuous interfacial bonding strength.Moreover,the absence of dynamic adaptability in conventional chemical adhesives restricts neoblasts around the wound from migrating to the site,resulting in an inferior tissue-regeneration effect.Herein,an extracellular matrix-derived biocomposite adhesive with robust adhesion and a real-time skin healing effect is well-engineered.Liquid–liquid phase separation is well-harnessed to drive the assembly of the biocomposite adhesive,with the active involvement of supramolecular interactions between chimeric protein and natural DNA,leading to a robustly reinforced adhesion performance.The bioadhesive exhibits outstanding adhesion and sealing behaviors,with a sheared adhesion strength of approximately 18 MPa,outperforming its reported counterparts.Moreover,the engineered bioderived components endow this adhesive material with biocompatibility and exceptional biological functions including the promotion of cell proliferation and migration,such that the use of this material eventually yields real-time in situ skin regeneration.This work opens up novel avenues for functionalized bioadhesive engineering and biomedical translations. | Ming Li Baimei Liu Wei Xu Lai Zhao Zili Wang Haonan He Jingjing Li Fan Wang Chao Ma Kai Liu Hongjie Zhang | 2023 | Engineering2023,31,12: | 0 |
| 8 | NR5A2 connects zygotic genome activation to the first lineage segregation in totipotent embryos显示文摘Zygotic genome activation(ZGA)marks the beginning of the embryonic program for a totipotent embryo,which gives rise to the inner cell mass(ICM)where pluripotent epiblast arises,and extraembryonic trophectoderm.However,how ZGA is connected to the first lineage segregation in mammalian embryos remains elusive.Here,we investigated the role of nuclear receptor(NR)transcription factors(TFs),whose motifs are highly enriched and accessible from the 2-cell(2C)to 8-cell(8C)stages in mouse embryos.We found that NR5A2,an NR TF strongly induced upon ZGA,was required for this connection.Upon Nr5a2 knockdown or knockout,embryos developed beyond 2C normally with the zygotic genome largely activated.However,4–8C-specific gene activation was substantially impaired and Nr5a2-deficient embryos subsequently arrested at the morula stage.Genome-wide chromatin binding analysis showed that NR5A2-bound cis-regulatory elements in both 2C and 8C embryos are strongly enriched for B1 elements where its binding motif is embedded.NR5A2 was not required for the global opening of its binding sites in 2C embryos but was essential to the opening of its 8C-specific binding sites.These 8C-specific,but not 2C-specific,binding sites are enriched near genes involved in blastocyst and stem cell regulation,and are often bound by master pluripotency TFs in blastocysts and embryonic stem cells(ESCs).Importantly,NR5A2 regulated key pluripotency genes Nanog and Pou5f1/Oct4,and primitive endoderm regulatory genes including Gata6 among many early ICM genes,as well as key trophectoderm regulatory genes including Tead4 and Gata3 at the 8C stage.By contrast,master pluripotency TFs NANOG,SOX2,and OCT4 targeted both early and late ICM genes in mouse ESCs.Taken together,these data identify NR5A2 as a key regulator in totipotent embryos that bridges ZGA to the first lineage segregation during mouse early development. | Fangnong Lai Lijia Li Xiaoyu Hu Bofeng Liu Ziqi Zhu Ling Liu Qiang Fan Huabin Tian Kai Xu Xukun Lu Qing Li Kong Feng Lijuan Wang Zili Lin Hongyu Deng Jinsong Li Wei Xie | 2023 | Cell Research2023,33,12: | 0 |
| 9 | Calculating the formation period of fault lateral sealing and its application显示文摘The study aims to find out the formation period of fault traps near faults in petroliferous basins,based on an analysis of the formation period of fault lateral sealing and related influential factors.A method to calculate the formation period of fault lateral sealing(i.e.the time when displacement pressure of fault rock is equal to that of reservoir rock in fault wall with hydrocarbon migration)is established by comparing the relationship between displacement pressure and time for fault rock and reservoir rock.This method is then applied to the study on reservoirs in the 1^(st),2^(nd),and 3^(rd) members of Dongying Formation(E_(3)d^(1),E_(3)d^(2) and E_(3)d^(3))in terms of formation period of lateral sealing of F3 fault crossing the three reservoirs in the No.5 structure of Nanpu Sag in Bohai Bay Basin.The results indicate that the formation period of the lateral sealing in the studied reservoirs can date from 7.1 Ma,7.4 Ma and 9.2 Ma respectively,all prior to the hydrocarbon accumulation period(about 2.58 Ma).Hence,it can be concluded that these reservoirs are favorable for the accumulation and preservation of hydrocarbons generated from the underlying source rock E_(3)s^(3),and the method proposed is feasible in calculating the formation period of fault lateral sealing. | Fu Guang Fan Zili Fu Hongjun Zhang Yutianyi Qiao Hongliang | 2022 | Energy Geoscience2022,3,1: | 0 |
