| 2 | Advances in optical engineering for future telescopes显示文摘Significant optical engineering advances at the University of Arizona are being made for design, fabrication, and construction of next generation astronomical telescopes. This summary review paper focuses on the technological advances in three key areas. First is the optical fabrication technique used for constructing next-generation telescope mirrors. Advances in ground-based telescope control and instrumentation comprise the second area of development. This includes active alignment of the laser truss-based Large Binocular Telescope(LBT) prime focus camera, the new MOBIUS modular cross-dispersion spectroscopy unit used at the prime focal plane of the LBT, and topological pupil segment optimization. Lastly, future space telescope concepts and enabling technologies are discussed. Among these, the Nautilus space observatory requires challenging alignment of segmented multi-order diffractive elements. The OASIS terahertz space telescope presents unique challenges for characterizing the inflatable primary mirror, and the Hyperion space telescope pushes the limits of high spectral resolution, far-UV spectroscopy. The Coronagraphic Debris and Exoplanet Exploring Pioneer(CDEEP) is a Small Satellite(Small Sat) mission concept for high-contrast imaging of circumstellar disks and exoplanets using vector vortex coronagraph. | 3 | Noise-sidebands-free and ultra-low-RIN 1.5 μm single-frequency fiber laser towards coherent optical detection显示文摘A noise-sidebands-free and ultra-low relative intensity noise(RIN) 1.5 μm single-frequency fiber laser is demonstrated for the first time to our best knowledge. Utilizing a self-injection locking framework and a booster optical amplifier, the noise sidebands with relative amplitudes as high as 20 dB are completely suppressed.The RIN is remarkably reduced by more than 64 dB at the relaxation oscillation peak to retain below-150 dB∕Hz in a frequency range from 75 kHz to 50 MHz, while the quantum noise limit is -152.9 d B∕Hz.Furthermore, a laser linewidth narrower than 600 Hz, a polarization-extinction ratio of more than 23 dB, and an optical signal-to-noise ratio of more than 73 dB are acquired simultaneously. | 6 | Prediction of radiosensitivity in primary central nervous system germ cell tumors using dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(DCEMRI) for predicting tumor response to radiotherapy in patients with suspected primary central nervous system(CNS) germ cell tumors(GCTs).Methods: DCE-MRI parameters of 35 patients with suspected primary CNS GCTs were obtained prior to diagnostic radiation, using the Tofts and Kermode model. Radiosensitivity was determined in tumors diagnosed 2 weeks after radiation by observing changes in tumor size and markers as a response to MRI. Taking radiosensitivity as the gold standard, the cut-off value of DCE-MRI parameters was measured by receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve. Diagnostic accuracy of DCE-MRI parameters for predicting radiosensitivity was evaluated by ROC curve.Results: A significant elevation in transfer constant(Ktrans) and extravascular extracellular space(Ve)(P=0.000), as well as a significant reduction in rate constant(Kep)(P=0.000) was observed in tumors. Ktrans, relative Ktrans, and relative Kep of the responsive group were significantly higher than non-responsive groups. No significant difference was found in Kep, Ve, and relative Ve between the two groups. Relative Ktrans showed the best diagnostic value in predicting radiosensitivity with a sensitivity of 100%, specificity of 91.7%, positive predictive value(PPV) of 95.8%, and negative predictive value(NPV) of 100%.Conclusions: Relative Ktrans appeared promising in predicting tumor response to radiation therapy(RT). | 13 | Main group metal elements for ambient-condition electrochemical nitrogen reduction显示文摘Electrocatalytic N_(2) reduction under ambient-condition is considered to be the most appealing strategy to the conventional Haber-Bosch process for synthetic ammonia to alleviate greenhouse emissions and reduce environmental pollution, mainly powered by renewable energy. Recent years, rapid advances have been gained in this attractive research field, and numerous electrocatalysts have been exploited. However, its conversion efficiency is still far behind the requirement of industrial applications owing to the breakage of the N≡N triple bond, which is an energetically challenging kinetically complex multistep reaction and the strong competing reaction of hydrogen evolution reaction. Recently, main group metal-based catalysts have been demonstrated promising application prospect for ammonia production, significantly boosting their further application in this field. However, a comprehensive review of main group metal-based catalysts towards electrochemical ammonia production applications is still lacking. In this review, the fundamentals of N_(2) reduction, such as the reaction pathways, the reaction potential and the challenges of N_(2) reduction have been comprehensively discussed. And then, the role, mechanism, and effect of each main group element-based catalysts used for N_(2) reduction (Li, K, Al, Ga, Sn, Sb, Bi, and their compounds) are systematically summarized. Finally, several state-of-the-art strategies to promote their NRR catalytic performance, as well as the existing problems and prospects are put forward. | 16 | A hybrid method to select morphometric features using tensor completion and F-score rank for gifted children identification显示文摘Gifted children are able to learn in a more advanced way than others, probably due to neurophysiological differences in the communication efficiency in neural pathways. Topological features contribute to understanding the correlation between the brain structure and intelligence. Despite decades of neuroscience research using MRI, methods based on brain region connectivity patterns are limited by MRI artifacts, which therefore leads to revisiting MRI morphometric features, with the aim of using them to directly identify gifted children instead of using brain connectivity. However, the small, high-dimensional morphometric feature dataset with outliers makes the task of finding good classification models challenging. To this end, a hybrid method is proposed that combines tensor completion and feature selection methods to handle outliers and then select the discriminative features. | 18 | Design of ZnSe-CoSe heterostructure decorated in hollow N-doped carbon nanocage with generous adsorption and catalysis sites for the reversibly fast kinetics of polysulfide conversion显示文摘Although lithium-sulfur batteries(Li SBs)are regarded as one of the most promising candidates for the next-generation energy storage system,the actual industrial application is hindered by the sluggish solid–liquid phase conversion kinetics,severe shuttle effect,and low sulfur loadings.Herein,a zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF)derived heterogeneous ZnSe-CoSe nanoparticles encapsulated in hollow N-doped carbon nanocage(ZnSe-CoSe-HNC)was designed by etching with tannic acid as a multifunctional electrocatalyst to boost the polysulfide conversion kinetics in LiSBs.The hollow structure in ZIF ensures large inner voids for sulfur and buffering volume expansions.Abundant exposed ZnSe-CoSe heterogeneous interfaces serve as bifunctional adsorption-catalytic centers to accelerate the conversion kinetics and alleviate the shuttle effect.Together with the highly conductive framework,the ZnSe-CoSeHNC/S cathode exhibits a high initial reversible capacity of 1305.3 m A h g-1at 0.2 C,high-rate capability,and reliable cycling stability under high sulfur loading and lean electrolyte(maintaining at 745 m A h g-1after 200 cycles with a high sulfur loading of 6.4 mg cm-2and a low electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 6μL mg^(-1)).Theoretical calculations have demonstrated the heterostructures of ZnSe-CoSe offer higher binding energy to lithium polysulfides than that of ZnSe or CoSe,facilitating the electron transfer to lithium polysulfides.This work provides a novel heterostructure with superior catalytic ability and hollow conductive architecture,paving the way for the practical application of functional sulfur electrodes. | Junan Feng Chuan Shi Hanghang Dong Chaoyue Zhang Wendong Liu Yu Liu Tianyi Wang Xiaoxian Zhao Shuangqiang Chen Jianjun Song | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,11: | 0 |
| 19 | Transcriptome analysis elucidates key changes of pleon in the process of carcinization显示文摘When megalopa molting to the first juvenile crab stage,the crabs undergo carcinization morphogenesis.To study the key physiological and morphological processes in carcinization,we performed a comparative transcriptomic analysis between the cephalothoraxes and the pleons of megalopa and the first juvenile crab stage in Chinese mitten crab.The results reveal that the major physiological and morphological changes in the pleon were related to energy metabolism(oxidative phosphorylation and AMPK pathways),ventral nerve cord fusion(apoptosis-related pathways),and metamorphosis(transcription factors,Hedgehog and Hippo pathways).We also discovered that the key Hox genes abdominal-B and abdominal-A might regulate morphological changes,especially in the degeneration of the fifth pair of pleopods,and ganglion fusion,respectively.Studying the regulatory mechanisms of carcinization may help us better understand the developmental biology of the juvenile crabs. | Ya’nan YANG Zhaoxia CUI Tianyi FENG Chenchang BAO Yuanfeng XU | 2021 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,4: | 0 |
