2Simultaneously Enhanced Cryogenic Tensile Strength,Ductility and Impact Resistance of Epoxy Resins by Polyethylene Glycol显示文摘Rubbers have been well accepted for modifying brittle epoxies but rubber modified epoxies usually posses lowered tensile strength though enhanced ductility and fracture resistance.In this work,a polyethylene glycol(PEG-4000) is used to modify diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A/methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride system for enhancing cryogenic tensile strength,ductility and impact resistance.The results display that the cryogenic tensile strength,ductility(failure strain) and fracture resistance(impact strength) are all enhanced for the modified epoxy system at proper PEG contents.The maximum tensile strength(127.8 MPa) at the cryogenic temperature(77 K) with an improvement of 30.1%is observed for the modified system with the 15 wt%PEG content.The ductility and impact resistance at both room temperature and cryogenic temperature are all improved for the modified epoxy system with proper PEG-4000 contents.These observations are explained by the positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy results and scanning electron microscopy results.Moreover,the glass transition temperature decreases slightly with increasing PEG content.Qingping Feng Jiaoping Yang Yu Liu Hongmei Xiao Shaoyun Fu 2014Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,1:6

6Comparative study on the weight loss and lipid metabolism by tea polyphenols in diet induced obese C57BL/6J pseudo germ free and conventionalized mice显示文摘The role of gut microbiota in terms of host health is becoming increasingly important.In this study,the comparative effects of tea polyphenols(TPs)on weight loss and lipid metabolism on conventionalized mice(CVZ)and pseudo germ-free(PGF)mice(treated with antibiotics)were investigated.Our findings revealed that high fat(HF)diet considerably increased the body weight,total fat and upsurge lipid indices in CVZ mice but PGF mice were not sensitive to the effect of HF diet as CVZ mice.After the dietary administration of TP,body weight,perirenal fat and epididymal fat,liver weight,glucose(GLU)level,total chloestrol(TC level),high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C)level significantly lowered in PGF mice as compared to CVZ mice group.However,the area of fat cells and triglyceride(TG)level were significantly increased in PGF mice.In CVZ mice,TP intervention resulted in a considerable drop in the Firmicutes/Bacteroides ratio as compared to PGF mice.The intestinal flora of PGF mice was severely reduced after antibiotic treatment,while TP administration restored intestinal diversity;the abundance of Akkermansia and Lactobacillus increased,whereas the abundance of Enterobacteriaceae and Prevotella reduced.Overall,we can assume that PGF obese mice administered with TP have less anti-obesity effects compared to obese CVZ mice.Kashif Hussain Yingying Yang Jie Wang Hengjuan Bian Xi Lei Junjie Chen Qianying Li Li Wang Qingping Zhong Xiang Fang Yutao Wang Hong Wei Yigang Tong Zhenlin Liao 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,3:2

15Large Curvature Folding Strategies of Butterfly Proboscis显示文摘Due to its real-time control,high folding ratio,and structure self-locking,flexible large curvature self-folding devices have broad application prospects,such as foldable human implants,flexible electronics,and flexible robots.Driven by this background,flexible large curvature folding butterfly(Polyura eudamippus)proboscises were studied in this work.The folding ratio of the proboscises was about 15.The curvature of coiled proboscises ranged from about 150 m_1 to 880 m The external and internal structures of the proboscises were studied by different methods.Three main strategies for large-curvature folding of proboscises were identified:a gradual decrease in thickness,a lower elastic modulus,and(most importantly)large numbers of regular corrugated cracks arranged on the surface.These corrugated cracks can effectively accommodate the coiled strain and provide space for the large curvature folding of proboscises.Finally,a 4D printed coiled sample with corrugated cracks was fabricated to mimic the proboscises stretching process.Large-curvature folding strategies,based on these proboscises,provide insights for the biomimetic design of artificial highly folded components.Daobing Chen Honglie Song Qingping Liu Jie Gan Yang Liu Keyu Che' Chong Wang Shifeng Wen Yan Zhou Chunze Yan Junqiu Zhang Yusheng Shi Zhiwu Han 2020Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,6:1
16Jahn-Teller distortion assisted interstitial nitrogen engineering:Enhanced oxygen dehydrogenation activity of N-doped Mn_(x)Co_(3-x)O_(4) hierarchical micro-nano particles显示文摘Rational design of earth-abundant transition metal oxides catalysts is highly desirable for developing sustainable chemical processes.Herein,we demonstrate a prospective interstitial nitrogen engineering for fabricating oxygen vacancies(OVs)-rich nitrogen-doped-Mn_(x)Co_(3-x)O_(4)(N-Mn_(x)Co_(3-x)O_(4))oxide catalyst,in which the ratio of OVs concentration of N-Mn_(x)Co_(3-x)O_(4)to Mn species is as high as 1:1,according to the characterizations of X-ray absorption(XAS)and X-ray photoelectron(XPS)spectroscopies.The promising strategy of interstitial nitrogen engineering through lattice distortion caused by the Jahn-Teller effect can significantly increase the amount of interstitial nitrogen.The resulting catalyst enables an additive-free aerobic dehydrogenation coupling of aromatic amine to afford azo compounds with>99%yield and>99%selectivity at 60☆.We observed the superb catalytic activity is promoted by the enhanced oxygen mobility in OVs,which were created by the interstitial nitrogen in the catalyst matrix.The presence of interstitial nitrogen in transition metal oxides in this study shows how the manipulation of catalyst matrix can increase the OV sites to promote aerobic oxidation reaction.Yangxin Jin Fengfeng Li Peixin Cui Yun Yang Qingping Ke Minh Ngoc Ha Wangcheng Zhan Fei Ruan Chao Wan Zhao Lei Van Noi Nguyen Wei Chen Jun Tang 2021Nano Research2021,14,8:1

18Maternal genetic history of southern East Asians over the past 12,000 years显示文摘Southern East Asia,including Guangxi and Fujian provinces in China,is home to diverse ethnic groups,languages,and cultures.Previous studies suggest a high complexity regarding population dynamics and the history of southern East Asians.However,large-scale genetic studies on ancient populations in this region are hindered by limited sample preservation.Here,using highly efficient DNA capture techniques,we obtain 48 complete mitochondrial genomes of individuals from Guangxi and Fujian in China and reconstruct their maternal genetic history over the past 12,000 years.We find a strong connection between southern East Asians dating to~12,000-6000 years ago and present-day Southeast Asians.In addition,stronger genetic affinities to northern East Asians are observed in historical southern East Asians than Neolithic southern East Asians,suggesting increased interactions between northern and southern East Asians over time.Overall,we reveal dynamic connections between ancient southern East Asians and populations located in surrounding regions,as well as a shift in maternal genetic structure within the populations over time.Yalin Liu Tianyi Wang Xichao Wu Xuechun Fan Wei Wang Guangmao Xie Zhen Li Qingping Yang Peng Cao Ruowei Yang Feng Liu Qingyan Dai Xiaotian Feng Wanjing Ping Bo Miao Yun Wu Yichen Liu Qiaomei Fu 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,10:1
19A Novel Highly Selective“Turn-On”Fluorescence Sensor for Silver Ions Based on Schiff Base显示文摘A novel optical chemical sensor L was designed and synthesized for the determination of silver ions.The sensor L was derived from 1-naphthaldehyde and 3,4,5-tris(hexadecyloxy)benzohydrazide.The sensor L shows high sensitivity and selectivity for Ag+detection in comparison to other metal cations(Mg^(2+),Ca^(2+),Al^(3+),Cr^(3+),Fe^(3+),Co^(2+),Ni^(2+),Cu^(2+),Zn^(2+),Cd^(2+),Hg^(2+),Pb^(2+))and has no significant response to other common metal cations.Upon addition of Ag+,the fluorescent emission of the sensor L was enhanced dramatically but other metal cations had no same response.The detection limit for Ag+was 1.2×10^(−7) mol/L.Therefore,the sensor L is useful for Ag+detection with some advantages including sensitivity,selectivity,simplicity and low-cost.Qi Lin Qingping Yang Bin Sun Taibao Wei Youming Zhang 2014Chinese Journal of Chemistry2014,32,12:1
