2Status and development of high-power laser facilities at the NLHPLP显示文摘In this paper, we review the status of the multifunctional experimental platform at the National Laboratory of High Power Laser and Physics(NLHPLP). The platform, including the SG-II laser facility, SG-II 9th beam, SG-II upgrade(SG-II UP) facility, and SG-II 5 PW facility, is operational and available for interested scientists studying inertial confinement fusion(ICF) and a broad range of high-energy-density physics. These facilities can provide important experimental capabilities by combining different pulse widths of nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond scales. In addition, the SG-II UP facility, consisting of a single petawatt system and an eight-beam nanosecond system, is introduced including several laser technologies that have been developed to ensure the performance of the facility. 3Progress of the injection laser system of SG-Ⅱ显示文摘A high power laser system was used to drive the ignition of inertial confinement fusion(ICF), of which the high energy,the uniform focal spot, the accurate laser waveform, and the synchronization between the laser beams are key parameters.To accomplish this, global laser characteristics control should be assured, which was the main purpose of the injection laser system. 4The circFASN/miR-33a pathway participates in tacrolimusinduced dysregulation of hepatic triglyceride homeostasis显示文摘Dyslipidemia exhibits a high incidence after liver transplantation,in which tacrolimus,a widely used immunosuppressant,plays a fundamental role.MicroRNAs and related circRNAs represent a class of noncoding RNAs that have been recognized as important regulators of genes associated with lipid metabolism.However,their transcriptional activities and functional mechanisms in tacrolimus-related dyslipidemia remain unclear.In this study,we observed that tacrolimus could induce triglyceride accumulation in hepatocytes by stimulating sterol response element-binding proteins(SREBPs)and miR-33a.Our in silico and experimental analyses identified miR-33a as a direct target of circFASN.Tacrolimus could downregulate circFASN and result in elevated miR-33a in vivo and in vitro.Overexpression of circFASN or silencing of miR-33a decreased the promoting effects of tacrolimus on triglyceride accumulation.Clinically,the incidence of dyslipidemia in liver transplant recipients with elevated serum miR-33a after liver transplantation was higher than that in patients without elevated serum miR-33a(46.3%vs.18.8%p=0.012,n=73).Our results showed that the circFASN/miR-33a regulatory system plays a distinct role in tacrolimus-induced disruption of lipid homeostasis.MiR-33a is likely a risk factor for tacrolimus-related dyslipidemia,providing a potential therapeutic target to combat tacrolimus-induced dyslipidemia after liver transplantation.Chenzhi Zhang Kangchen Chen Rongli Wei Guanghan Fan Xuechun Cai Li Xu Beini Cen Jianguo Wang Haiyang Xie Shusen Zheng Xiao Xu 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:2
5Wavefront control of laser beam using optically addressed liquid crystal modulator显示文摘An optically addressed liquid crystal modulator for wavefront control of 1053 nm laser beam is reported in this paper.Its working principle, control method and spatial phase modulation capability are mainly introduced. A new method of measuring the relationship between gray level and phase retardation is proposed. The rationality of the curve is further confirmed by designing special experiments. According to the curve, several spatial phase distributions have been realized by this home-made device. The results show that, not only the maximum phase retardation is larger than2π for 1053 nm wavelength, but also the control accuracy is high. 6Compensation method for performance degradation of optically addressed spatial light modulator induced by CW laser显示文摘In this paper,we propose an effective method to compensate for the performance degradation of optically addressed spatial light modulators(OASLMs).The thermal deposition problem usually leads to the on-off ratio reduction of amplitude OASLM,so it is difficult to achieve better results in high-power laser systems.Through the analysis of the laser-induced temperature rise model and the liquid crystal layer voltage model,it is found that reducing the driving voltage of the liquid crystal light valve and increasing the driving current of the optical writing module can compensate for the decrease of on-off ratio caused by temperature rise.This is the result of effectively utilizing the photoconductive effect of Bi_(12)SiO_(20)(BSO)crystal.The experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed method and increase the laser withstand power of amplitude-only OASLM by about a factor of 2.5.Tongyao Du Dajie Huang He Cheng Wei Fan Zhibo Xing Xuechun Li Jianqiang Zhu 2022High Power Laser Science and Engineering2022,10,1:1

8Improvements in long-term output energy performance of Nd:glass regenerative amplifiers显示文摘Optical damages, which severely degrade the output energy performance of Nd:glass regenerative amplifiers, are discussed in detail in this paper. By a series of experiments, it has been confirmed that these damages result from laser-induced contamination. Based on this work, several improvements are made to boost output energy performance of the regenerative amplifier. 10Gravitational wave astronomy: the current status显示文摘In the centenary year of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, this paper reviews the current status of gravitational wave astronomy across a spectrum which stretches from attohertz to kilohertz frequencies. Sect. 1 of this paper reviews the historical development of gravitational wave astronomy from Einstein's first prediction to our current understanding the spectrum. It is shown that detection of signals in the audio frequency spectrum can be expected very soon, and that a north-south pair of next generation detectors would provide large scientific benefits. Sect. 2 reviews the theory of gravitational waves and the principles of detection using laser interferometry. The state of the art Advanced LIGO detectors are then described. These detectors have a high chance of detecting the first events in the near future. Sect. 3 reviews the KAGRA detector currently under development in Japan,which will be the first laser interferometer detector to use cryogenic test masses. Sect. 4 of this paper reviews gravitational wave detection in the nanohertz frequency band using the technique of pulsar timing. Sect. 5 reviews the status of gravitational wave detection in the attohertz frequency band, detectable in the polarisation of the cosmic microwave background, and discusses the prospects for detection of primordial waves from the big bang. The techniques described in sects. 1–5 have already placed significant limits on the strength of gravitational wave sources. Sects. 6 and 7 review ambitious plans for future space based gravitational wave detectors in the millihertz frequency band. 11LD-pumped gas-cooled multislab Nd:glass laser amplification to joule level显示文摘We demonstrate a laser diode end-pumped helium gas-cooled multislab Nd:glass laser amplifier. The design and thermal management of the proposed laser amplifier are discussed. The thermally induced wavefront aberration of the slabs was also measured and compared with simulation results. A small-signal single-pass longitudinal gain of 1.8 was measured with a pump energy of 7.3 J. 12Mirror-like tongue is an important predictor of acute heart failure:a cohort study of acute heart failure in Chinese patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To reveal that mirror-like tongue,observed via a noninvasive inspection,is a powerful indicator of the severity and prognosis of patients with acute heart failure(AHF).METHODS:This was an observational,prospective study.A total of 408 patients who met the inclusion criteria and were diagnosed with AHF for the first time at Taicang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine from August 2019 to January 2021 were selected as the research subjects.According to their tongue fur,the patients were divided into group A(mirror-like tongue group)and group B(non-mirror-like tongue group).The clinical characteristics and incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events(MACEs)within 1 year of follow-up were systematically compared between the two groups.RESULTS:Sixty-five patients were included in group A,and 343 patients were included in group B.There were 32 males and 33 females in group A and 168 males and 175 females in group B.The average age of the overall population was 64 years old,and the average age of group A was significantly higher than that of group B(74 vs 62 years,P<0.001).Compared with that in group B,the left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)in group A was significantly lower(35%vs 42%,P<0.001),and the log N-terminal pro B-type natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP)level was significantly higher(4.0 vs 3.4,P<0.001).The proportion of the combined application of vasoactive drugs in group A was significantly higher than that in group B(64%vs 38%,P<0.001).Group B had a higher proportion of coronary angiography(29.5%vs 16.9%,P=0.038).Group A was more inclined to require mechanical ventilation than group B(33.9%vs 22.5%,P=0.049).The length of hospital stay in group A was significantly longer than that in group B(13.1 vs 7.6,P<0.001).The incidence of MACEs,such as recurrence of AHF,new myocardial infarction and stroke,in group A within one year was higher than that in group B(P=0.007,0.009,<0.001).The incidence of cumulative MACEs in group A was significantly higher than that in group B[hazard ratio=2.76,95%confidence interval(1.73,4.41),P<0.001].Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses showed that mirror-like tongue,age,length of stay,LVEF and log NT-proBNP were independent predictors of MACEs in patients with AHF within one year.CONCLUSIONS:Noninvasive tongue inspection technology can be used as a powerful tool for assessing the severity of illness and predicting prognosis in patients with AHF.A mirror-like tongue is an independent risk factor for MACEs in patients with AHF during the first year and has a combination effect with age,length of hospital stay,ejection fraction and NT-proBNP on the occurrence of MACEs.CHEN Yunhu YIN Moqing FAN Lihua JIANG Xuechun ZHANG Tao ZHU Xingyu XU Hongfeng 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,6:0
13Directly writing binary multi-sector phase plates on fused silica using femtosecond laser显示文摘Light carrying orbital angular momentum(OAM) has a spatial distribution of intensity and phase, which attracts considerable interest regarding several potential applications in optical and quantum scenarios recently. Spiral phase plates are commonly used elements for generating and analyzing OAM states. In this study, we put forward a method of directly writing binary multi-sector phase plates using the femtosecond laser. These phase plates are engraved on fused silica, which could be applied in high-intensity regimes. Different binary multi-sector phase plates were generated with high quality, which were proved by the observation of their structures, accompanied by detecting the beam patterns with the Gaussian beams. 14Role of bedding planes played in enhancing dissolution in sandstones显示文摘Diagenesis exerts an important control on porosity evolution,and research of diagenesis and diagenetic minerals provides insights into reservoir quality evaluation and CO_(2) storage.Thin section,XRD(X-ray diffraction),CT(Computed Tomography),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and NMR(Nuclear Magnetic Resonance)tests were used to investigate composition,texture,pore spaces,and diagenesis of sandstones in Paleogene Dongying Formation in Bohai Bay Basin,China,with special aims to unravel diagentic dissolution along bedding planes.The oversized pores,remnants in feldspar-hosted pores,and kaolinite within feldspar grains indicate a high degree of dissolution the framework grains experienced during burial.The CO_(2)-rich or organic acids are responsible for the feldspar dissolution.Grain size plays the primary role in enhancing bedding dissolution process,and bedding planes in fine-medium grained sandstones with high content of feldspars are frequently enlarged by dissolution.The CT scanning image confirms dissolution pores are distributed discontinuously along the bedding planes.The dissolution pores along bedding planes have large pore size,and correspond to the right peak of the bi-modal T_(2)(transverse relaxation time)spectrum.The laminated sandstones and siltstones,or sandstones with cross beddings help improve framework grain dissolution.These new findings help improve the understanding of diagenetic models,and have implications in reservoir quality prediction and resource assessments in sandstones.Jin LAI Xiaojiao PANG Meng BAO Bing WANG Jianan YIN Guiwen WANG Xuechun FAN 2022Frontiers of Earth Science2022,16,3:0
15Suppression of amplitude modulation induced by polarization mode dispersion using a multi-degree-of-freedom fiber filter显示文摘Polarization mode dispersion(PMD) in fibers for high-power lasers can induce significant frequency modulation to amplitude modulation(FM-to-AM) conversion. However, existing techniques are not sufficiently flexible to achieve efficient compensation for such FM-to-AM conversion. By analyzing the nonuniform transmission spectrum caused by PMD, we found that the large-scale envelope of the transmission spectrum has more serious impacts on the amount of AM. In order to suppress the PMD-induced FM-to-AM conversion, we propose a novel tunable spectral filter with multiple degrees of freedom based on a half-wave plate, a nematic liquid crystal, and an axis-rotated polarizationmaintaining fiber. Peak wavelength, free spectral range(FSR), and modulation depth of the filter are decoupled and can be controlled independently, which is verified through both simulations and experiments. The filter is utilized to compensate for the PMD-induced FM-to-AM conversion in the front end of a high-power laser facility. The results indicate that, for a pulse with phase-modulation frequency of 22.82 GHz, the FM-to-AM conversion could be reduced from 18% to 3.2% within a short time and maintained below 6.5% for 3 h.
