1Robotic surgery for rectal cancer: A systematic review of current practice显示文摘AIM: To give a comprehensive review of current litera-ture on robotic rectal cancer surgery.METHODS: A systematic review of current literature via PubMed and Embase search engines was per-formed to identify relevant articles from january 2007 to november 2013. The keywords used were: 'robotic surgery', 'surgical robotics', 'laparoscopic computer-assisted surgery', 'colectomy' and 'rectal resection'. RESULTS: After the initial screen of 380 articles, 20 pa-pers were selected for review. A total of 1062 patients(male 64.0%) with a mean age of 61.1 years and body mass index of 24.9 kg/m2 were included in the review.Out of 1062 robotic-assisted operations, 831(78.2%) anterior and low anterior resections, 132(12.4%) in-tersphincteric resection with coloanal anastomosis, 98(9.3%) abdominoperineal resections and 1(0.1%) Hart-mann's operation were included in the review. Robotic rectal surgery was associated with longer operative time but with comparable oncological results and anastomotic leak rate when compared with laparoscopic rectal surgery. CONCLUSION: Robotic colorectal surgery has con-tinued to evolve to its current state with promising re-sults; feasible surgical option with low conversion rate and comparable short-term oncological results. 6Subvoxel light-sheet microscopy for high-resolution high-throughput volumetric imaging of large biomedical specimens显示文摘A key challenge when imaging whole biomedical specimens is how to quickly obtain massive cellular information over a large field of view(FOV).We report a subvoxel light-sheet microscopy(SLSM)method enabling high-throughput volumetric imaging of mesoscale specimens at cellular resolution.A nonaxial,continuous scanning strategy is developed to rapidly acquire a stack of large-FOV images with three-dimensional(3-D)nanoscale shifts encoded.Then,by adopting a subvoxel-resolving procedure,the SLSM method models these low-resolution,cross-correlated images in the spatial domain and can iteratively recover a 3-D image with improved resolution throughout the sample.This technique can surpass the optical limit of a conventional light-sheet microscope by more than three times,with high acquisition speeds of gigavoxels per minute.By fast reconstruction of 3-D cultured cells,intact organs,and live embryos,SLSM method presents a convenient way to circumvent the trade-off between mapping large-scale tissue(>100 mm3)and observing single cell(∼1-μm resolution).It also eliminates the need of complicated mechanical stitching or modulated illumination,using a simple light-sheet setup and fast graphics processing unit-based computation to achieve high-throughput,high-resolution 3-D microscopy,which could be tailored for a wide range of biomedical applications in pathology,histology,neuroscience,etc.Peng Fei Jun Nie Juhyun Lee Yichen Ding Shuoran Li Hao Zhang Masaya Hagiwara Tingting Yu Tatiana Segura Chih-Ming Ho Dan Zhu Tzung KHsiaic 2019Advanced Photonics2019,1,1:6
7Downscaling and Disaggregating NAO-conflict Nexus in Pre-industrial Europe显示文摘Recently, the desiccation effect of the North Atlantic Oscillation(NAO) is found to be positively correlated with violent conflict in pre-industrial Europe, with agricultural shrinkage and its subsequent economic shocks to be their causal link. However, it remains unexplored whether the correlation persists if the study period is extended backward in time, a different definition of violent conflict is applied, or the relationship is examined at lower geographic levels. In this study, we based on 835 internal disturbance incidents in Europe during 1049–1800 to conduct long-temporal and multi-scalar examination on the NAO-conflict nexus. ′Time-series′ and ′panel data′ disaggregation approaches, together with Granger Causality, Multiple Regression, and Survival Analyses were applied to verify the nexus quantitatively. Results show that the positive NAO-conflict correlation was significant at the continent and physiographic zone levels. During the positive NAO phases, the annual probability of internal disturbance outbreak increased by 70.0% in the southern Europe and the Mediterranean, a zone most affected by the NAO-induced desiccation effect. Yet, the NAO-conflict correlation was rather inconsistent when it was downscaled to the sub-regional level. Moreover, the NAO-conflict correlation was inflated under the time-series approach, while the panel data approach demonstrated the region-specific nature of the NAO forcing more clearly. The associated implications in examining climate-conflict nexus are discussed. 12Dye-sensitized solar cells based on functionalized truxene structure显示文摘Three new metal-free organic dyes(TX1, TX2 and TX3) based on truxene core structure, with triphenylamine as the electron donor, thiophene as the p spacers, and cyanoacetic acid or rhodanine-3-acetic acid as the electron acceptor are designed and synthesized. Their UV–vis absorption spectra,electrochemical and photovoltaic properties were investigated. The cyanoacrylic acid is verified to be a better acceptor unit(meanwhile the anchoring group) compared to the rhodanine-3-acetic acid. And also, two anchoring groups in TX2 could provide stronger adsorption ability on the Ti O2 surface. In addition, the EIS results indicate a slower charge recombination processes for TX2. 13Safety,tolerability,and pharmacokinetics of BAT8001 in patients with HER2-positive breast cancer:An open-label,dose-escalation,phase I study显示文摘Background:The introductions of anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor-2(HER2)agents have significantly improved the treatment outcome of patients with HER2-positive breast cancer.BAT8001 is a novel antibodydrug conjugate targeting human epidermal growth factor receptor-2(HER2)-expressing cells composed of a trastuzumab biosimilar linked to the drug-linker Batansine.This dose-escalation,phase I study was designed to assess the safety,tolerability,pharmacokinetics,and preliminary anti-tumor activity of BAT8001 in patients with HER2-positive locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer.Methods:This trial was conducted in subjects with histologically confirmed HER2-positive breast cancer(having evaluable lesions and an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status of 0 or 1)using a 3+3 design of escalating BAT8001 doses.Patients received BAT8001 intravenously in a 21-day cycle,with dose escalation in 5 cohorts:1.2,2.4,3.6,4.8,and 6.0 mg/kg.The primary objective was to evaluate the safety and tolerability of BAT8001.Preliminary activity of BAT8001 was also assessed as a secondary objective.Results:Between March 2017 to May 2018,29 HER2-positive breast cancer patients were enrolled.The observed dose-limiting toxicities were grade 4 thrombocytopenia and grade 3 elevated transaminase.The maximum tolerated dose was determined to be 3.6 mg/kg.Grade 3 or greater adverse events(AEs)occurred in 14(48.3%)of 29 patients,including thrombocytopenia in 12(41.4%)patients,aspartate aminotransferase increased in 4(13.8%)patients,γ-glutamyl transferase increased in 2(6.9%)patients,alanine aminotransferase increased in 2(6.9%)patients,diarrhea in 2(6.9%)patients.Objective response was observed in 12(41.4%,95%confidence interval[CI]=23.5%-61.1%)and disease control(including patients achieving objective response and stable disease)was observed in 24(82.8%,95%CI=64.2%-94.2%)patients.Conclusions:BAT8001 demonstrated favorable safety profiles,with promising anti-tumor activity in patients with HER2-positive locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer.BAT8001 has the potential to provide a new therapeutic option in patients with metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer.Ruoxi Hong Wen Xia Liye Wang Kaping Lee Qianyi Lu Kuikui Jiang Shengfeng Li Jinquan Yu Jin Wei Weijia Tang Danyang Zhou Xin An Jiajia Huang Cong Xue Xiwen Bi Yanxia Shi Zhongyu Yuan Fei Xu Shusen Wang 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,2:2
