1Morphological characteristics, anatomical structure, and gene expression: novel insights into gibberellin biosynthesis and perception during carrot growth and development显示文摘Gibberellins(GAs)are considered potentially important regulators of cell elongation and expansion in plants.Carrot undergoes significant alteration in organ size during its growth and development.However,the molecular mechanisms underlying gibberellin accumulation and perception during carrot growth and development remain unclear.In this study,five stages of carrot growth and development were investigated using morphological and anatomical structural techniques.Gibberellin levels in leaf,petiole,and taproot tissues were also investigated for all five stages.Gibberellin levels in the roots initially increased and then decreased,but these levels were lower than those in the petioles and leaves.Genes involved in gibberellin biosynthesis and signaling were identified from the carrotDB,and their expression was analyzed.All of the genes were evidently responsive to carrot growth and development,and some of them showed tissue-specific expression.The results suggested that gibberellin level may play a vital role in carrot elongation and expansion.The relative transcription levels of gibberellin pathway-related genes may be the main cause of the different bioactive GAs levels,thus exerting influences on gibberellin perception and signals.Carrot growth and development may be regulated by modification of the genes involved in gibberellin biosynthesis,catabolism,and perception.Guang-Long Wang Fei Xiong Feng Que Zhi-Sheng Xu Feng Wang Ai-Sheng Xiong 2015Horticulture Research2015,2,1:6
2Efficacy,safety and immunogenicity of hexavalent rotavirus vaccine in Chinese infants显示文摘A randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled multicenter trial was conducted in healthy Chinese infants to assess the efficacy and safety of a hexavalent live human-bovine reassortant rotavirus vaccine(HRV)against rotavirus gastroenteritis(RVGE).A total of 6400 participants aged 6-12 weeks were enrolled and randomly assigned to either HRV(n?3200)or placebo(n?3200)group.All the subjects received three oral doses of vaccine four weeks apart.The vaccine efficacy(VE)against RVGE caused by rotavirus serotypes contained in HRV was evaluated from 14 days after three doses of administration up until the end of the second rotavirus season.VE against severe RVGE,VE against RVGE hospitalization caused by serotypes contained in HRV,and VE against RVGE,severe RVGE,and RVGE hospitalization caused by natural infection of any serotype of rotavirus were also investigated.All adverse events(AEs)were collected for 30 days after each dose.Serious AEs(SAEs)and intussusception cases were collected during the entire study.Our data showed that VE against RVGE caused by serotypes contained in HRV was 69.21%(95%CI:53.31-79.69).VE against severe RVGE and RVGE hospitalization caused by serotypes contained in HRV were 91.36%(95%CI:78.45-96.53)and 89.21%(95%CI:64.51-96.72)respectively.VE against RVGE,severe RVGE,and RVGE hospitalization caused by natural infection of any serotype of rotavirus were 62.88%(95%CI:49.11-72.92),85.51%(95%CI:72.74-92.30)and 83.68%(95%CI:61.34-93.11).Incidences of AEs from the first dose to one month post the third dose in HRV and placebo groups were comparable.There was no significant difference in incidences of SAEs in HRV and placebo groups.This study shows that this hexavalent reassortant rotavirus vaccine is an effective,well-tolerated,and safe vaccine for Chinese infants.Zhiwei Wu Qingliang Li Yan Liu Huakun Lv Zhaojun Mo Fangjun Li Qingchuan Yu Fei Jin Wei Chen Yong Zhang Teng Huang Xiaosong Hu Wei Xia Jiamei Gao Haisong Zhou Xuan Bai Yueyue Liu Zhenzhen Liang Zhijun Jiang Yingping Chen Jiuwei Zhang Jialiang Du Biao Yang Bo Xing Yantao Xing Ben Dong Qinghai Yang Chen Shi Tingdong Yan Bo Ruan Haiyun Shi Xingliang Fan Dongyang Feng Weigang Lv Dong Zhang Xiangchu Kong Liuyifan Zhou Dinghong Que Hong Chen Zhongbing Chen Xiang Guo Weiwei Zhou Cong Wu Qingrong Zhou Yuqing Liu Jian Qiao Ying Wang Xinguo Li Kai Duan Yuliang Zhao Gelin Xu Xiaoming Yang 2022Virologica Sinica2022,37,5:2

8Optimization of Supercritical Fluid Extraction of Tea Flower Polysaccharides by Using Response Surface Method显示文摘Polysaccharide production from tea flower(TFPS) was carried out using supercritical fluid extraction(SFE).Response surface methodology(RSM),based on a five level,four variable small central composite design,was employed to obtain the best possible combination of extraction time,pressure,temperature and ethanol content of modifier for maximum production.The optimum conditions were as follows:extraction time of 170 min,pressure of45 MPa,temperature of 75 ℃,and 50% aqueous ethanol solution as modifier.Under these conditions,the experimental yield was 6.56 ± 0.37%,which was similar to the value predicted by the model.Monosaccharide composition of TFPS was fucose,rhamnose,arabinose,xylose,galactose,glucose,mannose,fructose,ribose,galacturonic acid and glucuronic acid in a molar percent of 31.69,0.21,0.49,1.29,35.82,0.97,1.63,18.34,7.88,1.06 and 0.63.Compared to other extraction methods,SFE could achieve higher yield and gain more types of monosaccharide.Xing-Hai Zhang Fei Que Jin-Wei Xu Pei-Li Yu You-Ying Tu 2013茶叶2013,39,4:1

14The transcription of iodothyronine deiodinase genes is regulated by thyroid hormone receptor in the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas显示文摘Thyroid hormones (THs) are indispensable for each phyla in Chordata, while their functions in the non-chordate invertebrates are indistinct. Studies on the TH system in non-chordate invertebrates are important for understanding the evolution of TH system and may be applied in aquaculture or biofouling control at the same time. Iodothyronine deiodinases are keys to studying the TH system, as they are critical enzymes in maintaining TH homeostasis by catalyzing the initiation and termination of the effects of thyroid hormone in vertebrates. Here, we report the primary physiological effects of T4, the outer ring deiodinase activity, and a similar transcription regulation of two oyster deiodinases by TH receptor (CgTR) in an invertebrate, Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas. L-thyroxine (T4) may have an important physiological function in the oyster, suggested by the growth retardation effect of excessive T4 in umbo larvae stage. The outer ring deiodinase activity transforming T4 to T3 (3, 3', 5-triiodothyronine) was then detected in the Pacific oyster in vivo, which may be conducted by two oyster deiodinases (CgDx and CgDy). Transcription regulation of CgTR onto these two deiodinase genes was also verified by electrophoretic mobility shift assay and dual luciferase reporter assay in mammalian cells.
