Serum pepsinogen Ⅱ is a better diagnostic marker in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To investigate screening makers for gastric cancer,we assessed the association between gastric cancer and serum pepsinogens(PGs).METHODS:The subjects comprised 450 patients with gastric cancer,111 individuals with gastric atrophy, and 961 healthy controls.Serum anti-Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) immunoglobulin G(IgG),PGⅠand PG Ⅱ were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Gastric atrophy and gastric cancer were diagnosed by endoscopy and histopathological examinations.Odds ratios and 95%CIs were calculated using multivariate logistic regression.RESULTS:Rates of H.pylori infection remained high in Northeastern China.Rates of H.pylori IgG positivity were greater in the gastric cancer and gastric atrophy groups compared to the control group(69.1% and 75.7% vs 49.7%,P < 0.001).Higher levels of PG Ⅱ(15.9 μg/L and 13.9 μg/L vs 11.5 μg/L,P < 0.001) and lower PGⅠ/PG Ⅱ ratio(5.4 and 4.6 vs 8.4,P < 0.001) were found in patients with gastric cancer or gastric atrophy compared to healthy controls, whereas no correlation was found between the plasma PGⅠconcentration and risk of gastric cancer(P = 0.537).In addition, multivariate logistic analysis indicated that H.pylori infection and atrophic gastritis were independent risk factors for gastric cancer.Lower plasma PGⅠ/PG Ⅱ ratio was associated with higher risks of atrophy and gastric cancer.Furthermore, plasma PG Ⅱ?level?significantly?correlated?with?H.pyloriinfected gastric cancer.CONCLUSION:Serum PG Ⅱ concentration and PG Ⅰ/PG Ⅱ ratio are potential biomarkers for H.pyloriinfected gastric disease.PG Ⅱ is independently associated with risk of gastric cancer. | Xue-Yuan Cao Zhi-Fang Jia Mei-Shan Jin Dong-Hui Cao Fei Kong Jian Suo Jing Jiang | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,48: | 27
Arctic Sea Ice and Eurasian Climate:A Review显示文摘The Arctic plays a fundamental role in the climate system and has shown significant climate change in recent decades, including the Arctic warming and decline of Arctic sea-ice extent and thickness. In contrast to the Arctic warming and reduction of Arctic sea ice, Europe, East Asia and North America have experienced anomalously cold conditions, with record snowfall during recent years. In this paper, we review current understanding of the sea-ice impacts on the Eurasian climate.Paleo, observational and modelling studies are covered to summarize several major themes, including: the variability of Arctic sea ice and its controls; the likely causes and apparent impacts of the Arctic sea-ice decline during the satellite era,as well as past and projected future impacts and trends; the links and feedback mechanisms between the Arctic sea ice and the Arctic Oscillation/North Atlantic Oscillation, the recent Eurasian cooling, winter atmospheric circulation, summer precipitation in East Asia, spring snowfall over Eurasia, East Asian winter monsoon, and midlatitude extreme weather; and the remote climate response(e.g., atmospheric circulation, air temperature) to changes in Arctic sea ice. We conclude with a brief summary and suggestions for future research. | GAO Yongqi SUN Jianqi LI Fei HE Shengping Stein SANDVEN YAN Qing ZHANG Zhongshi Katja LOHMANN Noel KEENLYSIDE Tore FUREVIK SUO Lingling | 2015 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2015,32,1: | 21
DNA methyltransferase3a expression is an independent poor prognostic indicator in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM: To explore the alteration of DNA methyltransferase expression in gastric cancer and to assess its prognostic value.METHODS: From April 2000 to December 2010, 227men and 73 women with gastric cancer were enrolled in the study. The expression of DNA methyltransferases(DNMTs), including DNMT1, DNMT3a and DNMT3b,in the 300 cases of gastric carcinoma, of which 85 hadpaired adjacent normal gastric mucus samples, was evaluated by immunohistochemistry using a tissue microarray. Serum anti-Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) IgG was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). The relationships between the above results and the clinicopathological characteristics were analyzed. Their prognostic value was evaluated using the Cox proportional hazards model.RESULTS: In gastric cancer, expression of DNMTs was mainly seen in the nucleus. Weak staining was also observed in the cytoplasm. Expression of DNMT1, DNMT3a and DNMT3b in gastric cancer was significantly higher compared to that in the paired control samples(60.0% vs 37.6%, 61.2% vs 4.7%, and 94.1% vs 71.8%, P < 0.01). The overall survival rate was significantly higher in the DNMT3a negative group than in the DNMT3a positive group in gastric cancer patients(Log-rank test, P = 0.032). No significant correlation was observed between DNMT1 and DNMT3b expression and the overall survival time(Log-rank test, P = 0.289, P = 0.347). Multivariate regression analysis indicated that DNMT3a expression(P = 0.025) and TNM stage(P < 0.001), but not DNMT1(P = 0.54) or DNMT3b(P = 0.62), were independent prognostic factors in gastric cancer. H. pylori infection did not induce protein expression of DNMTs.CONCLUSION: The results suggest that expression of DNMT3a is an independent poor prognostic indicator in gastric cancer. DNMT3a might play an important role in gastric carcinogenesis. | Xue-Yuan Cao Hong-Xi Ma Yan-Hong Shang Mei-Shan Jin Fei Kong Zhi-Fang Jia Dong-Hui Cao Yin-Ping Wang Jian Suo Jing Jiang | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,25: | 5
Corrosion resistance properties of AZ31 magnesium alloy after Ti ion implantation显示文摘Magnesium alloys have a wide range of applications in industry; however, their corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and hardness are rather poor, which limit their applications. Ti ion was implanted into the AZ31 magnesium alloy surface by metal vapor vacuum arc (MEVVA) implanter. This metal arc ion source has a broad beam and high current capabilities. The implantation energy was fixed at 45 keV and the dose was at 9 × 1017 cm?2. Through ion implantation, Ti ion implantation layer with approximately 900 nm in thickness was directly formed on the surface of AZ31 magnesium alloy, by which its surface property greatly improved. The chemical states of some typical elements of the ion implantation layer were analyzed by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), while the cross sectional morphology of the ion im-plantation layer and the phase structure were observed by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The property of corrosion resistance of the Ti ion implanted layer was studied by the CS300P electrochemistry corrosion workstation in 3.5% NaCl solution. The results showed that the property of corrosion resistance was enhanced remarkably, while the corrosion velocity was obviously slowed down. | CHEN Fei ZHOU Hai CAI Suo LV Fanxiu LI Chengming | 2007 | Rare Metals2007,26,2: | 4
Temperature Effect on the Mechanical Behavior of Acrylic Polymers under Quasi-static and Dynamic Loading显示文摘In this paper, the mechanical behavior of acrylic polymers at elevated temperature was investigated. Four acrylic polymers were tested at high strain rate by using compression Hopkinson bar and at quasi-static strain rate by using an Instron servo hydraulic axial testing machine with the testing temperature from 218K to 393K. The results show that the mechanical property of acrylic polymers depends heavily on the testing temperature. The yield stress and Young's modulus were found to decrease with increasing temperature at low strain rate. At very low temperature, the materials display typical brittle fracture; however their plasticity improves remarkably at high temperatures. The predictions of the mechanical behavior including the effect of temperature and strain rate using a proposed theoretical model have a good agreement with experimental results. | Tao Suo Yulong Li Hong Yu Fei Xu Zhongbin Tang Lei Li | 2004 | 上海交通大学学报2004,38,z2: | 2
Plasmonic semiconductor nanogroove array enhanced broad spectral band millimetre and terahertz wave detection显示文摘High-performance uncooled millimnetre and terahertz wave detectors are required as a building block for a wide range of applications. The state-of-the art technologies, however, are plagued by low sensitivity, narrow spectral bandwidth, and complicated architecture. Here,we report semiconductor surface plasmon enhanced high-performance broadband millimetre and terahertz wave detectors which are based on nanogroove InSb array epitaxially grown on GaAs substrate for room temperature operation.By making a nanogroove array in the grown InSb layer, strong millimetre and terahertz wave surface plasmon polaritons can be generated at the InSb-air interfaces, which results in significant improvement in detecting performance.A noise equivalent power(NEP)of 2.2× 10^(-14)WHz^(-1/2) or a detectivity(D)of 2.7× 10^(12)cmHz^(1/2) W^(-1) at 1.75 mm(0.171 THz)is achieved at room temperature.By lowering the temperature to the thermoelectric cooling available 200 K,the corresponding NEP and D'of the nanogroove device can be improved to 3.8× 10^(-15)WHz^(-1/2) and 1.6× 10^(13) cm Hz^(-1/2) w^(-1),respectively.In addition, such a single device can perform broad spectral band detection from 0.9 mm(0.330 THz)to 9.4 mm(0.032 THz).Fast responses of 3.5μs and 780 ns are achieved at room temperature and 200 K,respectively.Such high-performance millimnetre and terahertz wave photodetectors are useful for wide applications such as high capacity communications,walk-through security, biological diagnosis, spectroscopy, and remote sensing. In addition, the integration of plasmonic semiconductor nanostructures paves a way for realizing high performance and multifunctional long-wavelength optoelectrical devices. | Jinchao Tong Fei Suo Tianning Zhang Zhiming Huang Junhao Chu Dao Hua Zhang | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,4: | 2
Increased expression of tyrosine phosphatase SHP-2 in Helicobacter pylori-infected gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To explore the alteration of tyrosine phosphatase SHP-2 protein expression in gastric cancer and to assess its prognostic values.METHODS:Three hundred and five consecutive cases of gastric cancer were enrolled into this study.SHP-2 expression was carried out in 305 gastric cancer specimens,of which 83 were paired adjacent normal gastric mucus samples, using a tissue microarray immunohistochemical method.Correlations were analyzed between expression levels of SHP-2 protein and tumor parameters or clinical outcomes.Serum anti-Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) immunoglobulin G was detected with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Cox proportional hazards model was used to evaluate prognostic values by compassion of the expression levels of SHP-2 and disease-specific survivals in patients.RESULTS:SHP-2 staining was found diffuse mainly in the cytoplasm and the weak staining was also observed in the nucleus in gastric mucosa cells.Thirty-two point five percent of normal epithelial specimen and 62.6% of gastric cancer specimen were identified to stain with SHP-2 antibody positively(P < 0.001).Though SHP-2 staining intensities were stronger in the H.pylori(+) group than in the H.pylori(-) group,no statistically significant difference was found in the expression levels of SHP-2 between H.pylori(+) and H.pylori(-) gastric cancer(P = 0.40).The SHP-2 expression in gastric cancer was not significantly associated with cancer stages, lymph node metastases, and distant metastasis of the tumors(P = 0.34,P = 0.17,P = 0.52).Multivariate analysis demonstrated no correlation between SHP-2 expression and disease-free survival(P = 0.86).CONCLUSION:Increased expression of SHP-2 protein in gastric cancer specimen suggesting the aberrant upregulation of SHP-2 protein might play an important role in the gastric carcinogenesis. | Jing Jiang Mei-Shan Jin Fei Kong Yin-Ping Wang Zhi-Fang Jia Dong-Hui Cao Hong-Xi Ma Jian Suo Xue-Yuan Cao | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,4: | 2
Surface plasmon enhanced infrared photodetection显示文摘Infrared photodetectors have been used extensively in biomedicine, surveillance, communication and astronomy. However, state of the art technology based on III-V and II-VI compounds still lacks excellent performance for high-temperature operation. Surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) have demonstrated their capability in improving the light detection from visible to infrared wave range due to their light confinement in subwavelength scale. Advanced fabrication techniques such as electron-beam lithography (EBL) and focused ion-beam (FIB), and commercially available numerical design tool like Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) have enabled rapid development of surface plasmon (SP) enhanced photodetectors. In this review article, the basic mechanisms behind the SP-enhanced photodetection, the different type of plasmonic nanostructures utilized for enhancement, and the reported SP-enhanced infrared photodetectors will be discussed. | Jinchao Tong Fei Suo Junhuizhi Ma Landobasa Y. | 11 | Epitaxial indium antimonide for multiband photodetection from IR to millimeter/terahertz wave显示文摘Conventional photodetection converts light into electrical signals only in a single electromagnetic waveband.Multiband detection technology is highly desirable because it can handle multispectral information discrimination, identification, and processing.Current epitaxial solid-state multiband detection technologies are mainly within the IR wave range. Here,we report epitaxial indium antimonide on gallium arsenide for IR and millimeter/terahertz wave multiband photodetection. The photoresponse originates from interband transition in optoelectrical semiconductors for IR wave, and surface plasmon polaritons induced nonequilibrium electrons for a millimeter/terahertz wave. The detector shows a strong response for an IR wave with a cutoff wavelength of 6.85 μm and a blackbody detectivity of 1.8×10^(9) Jones at room temperature. For a millimeter/terahertz wave, the detector demonstrates broadband detection from 0.032 THz(9.4 mm)to 0.330 THz(0.9 mm);that is,from Ka to the W and G bands, with a noise equivalent power of 1.0×10^(-13) W Hz^(-1/2) at 0.270 THz(1.1 mm)at room temperature. The detection performance is an order of magnitude better while decreasing the temperature to 170 K,the thermoelectric cooling level.Such detectors, capable of large scale and low cost, are promising for advanced uncooled multiband detection and imaging systems. | JINCHAO TONG HENG LUO FEI SUO TIANNING ZHANG DAWEI ZHANG DAO HUA ZHANG | 2022 | Photonics Research2022,10,5: | 1
Antenna-assisted subwavelength metal–InGaAs–metal structure for sensitive and direct photodetection of millimeter and terahertz waves显示文摘Millimeter and terahertz wave photodetectors have a wide range of applications. However, the state-of-the-art techniques lag far behind the urgent demand due to the structure and performance limitations. Here, we report sensitive and direct millimeter and terahertz wave photodetection in compact InGaAs-based subwavelength ohmic metal–semiconductor–metal structures. The photoresponse originates from unidirectional transportation of nonequilibrium electrons induced by surface plasmon polaritons under irradiation. The detected quantum energies of electromagnetic waves are far below the bandgap of InGaAs, offering, to the best of our knowledge, a novel direct photoelectric conversion pathway for InGaAs beyond its bandgap limit. The achieved room temperature rise time and noise equivalent power of the detector are 45 μs and 20 pW · Hz^(-1∕2), respectively,at the 0.0375 THz(8 mm) wave. The detected wavelength is tunable by mounting different coupling antennas.Room temperature terahertz imaging of macroscopic samples at around 0.166 THz is also demonstrated. This work opens an avenue for sensitive and large-area uncooled millimeter and terahertz focal planar arrays. | JINCHAO TONG YUE QU FEI SUO WEI ZHOU ZHIMING HUANG DAO HUA ZHANG | 2019 | Photonics Research2019,7,1: | 1
High-performance photodetector based on an interface engineering-assisted graphene/silicon Schottky junction显示文摘Graphene/silicon Schottky junctions have been proven efficient for photodetection, but the existing high dark current seriously restricts applications such as weak signal detection. In this paper,a thin layer of gadolinium iron garnet(Gd3Fe5O12,GdIG)film is introduced to engineer the interface of a graphene/silicon Schottky photodetector. The novel structure shows a significant decrease in dark current by 54 times at a-2 V bias.It also exhibits high performance in a self-powered mode in terms of an Ilight/Idark ratio up to 8.2×10^(6)and a specific detectivity of 1.35×10^(13)Jones at 633 nm,showing appealing potential for weak-light detection.Practical suitability characterizations reveal a broadband absorption covering ultraviolet to near-infrared light and a large linear response with a wide range of light intensities. The device holds an operation speed of 0.15 ms,a stable response for 500 continuous working cycles, and long-term environmental stability after several months.Theoretical analysis shows that the interlayer increases the barrier height and passivates the contact surface so that the dark current is suppressed. This work demonstrates the good capacity of GdIG thin films as interlayer materials and provides a new solution for high-performance photodetectors. | Peirui Ji Shuming Yang Yu Wang Kaili Li Yiming Wang Hao Suo Yonas Tesfaye Woldu Xiaomin Wang Fei Wang Liangliang Zhang Zhuangde Jiang | 2022 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,1: | 1
Flexible Diodes/Transistors Based on Tunable p-n-Type Semiconductivity in Graphene/Mn-Co-Ni-O Nanocomposites显示文摘We report a novel Mn-Co-Ni-O(MCN)nanocomposite in which the p-type semiconductivity of Mn-Co-Ni-O can be manipulated by addition of graphene. With an increase of graphene content, the semiconductivity of the nanocomposite can be tuned from p-type through electrically neutral to n-type.The very low effective mass of electrons in graphene facilitates electron tunneling into the MCN,neutralizing holes in the MCN nanoparticles.XPS analysis shows that the multivalent manganese ions in the MCN nanoparticles are chemically reduced by the graphene electrons to lower-valent states.Unlike traditional semiconductor devices, electrons are excited from the filled graphite band into the empty band at the Dirac points from where they move freely in the graphene and tunnel into the MCN.The new composite film demonstrates inherent flexibility, high mobility, short carrier lifetime, and high carrier concentration. This work is useful not only in manufacturing flexible transistors,FETs,and thermosensitive and thermoelectric devices with unique properties but also in providing a new method for future development of 2D-based semiconductors. | Lihong Su Zhou Yang Xitong Wang Ziao Zou Bo Wang Gary Hodes Ninghui Chang Yongyong Suo Zhibo Ma Haoxu Wang Yucheng Liu Junping Zhang Shuanhu Wang Yuefei Li Fengxia Yang Jixin Zhu Fei Gao Wei Huang Shengzhong Liu | 2022 | Research2022,,1: | 0
