1Simulating and validating the effects of slope frost heaving on canal bed saturated soil using coupled heat-moisture-deformation model显示文摘The lining canals in seasonal frozen soil areas can be severely damaged by frost heaving.The freezing and thawing contributes to the continual change of the temperature field and moisture field beneath lining canal,which will seriously affect the safe operation of the canal.In order to study the frost heaving damage mechanism of lining canal and to solve the associated engineering problems,the permafrost body was regarded as an elastomer,and a three-field,coupled,partial differential equation describing the temperature,moisture and deformation fields for a saturated two-dimensional canal bed was derived and established based on the Harlan model.The coupling equations were discretized using the finite element method in space and the finite difference method in time.The parameters were simplified appropriately based on compliance with the actual conditions and were simulated using finite element software.The results of a sample simulation showed that the simulated results and test results were basically consistent with variation laws,which proved the correctness of the numerical simulation theory and solution methods and the reliability of the calculation.The model can simulate the water,heat and deformation issues in the side slope of saturated canal bed soil in a seasonally frozen area and forecast freezing damage in the canals.Wang Enliang Fu Qiang Liu Xingchao Li Tianxiao Li Jinling 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,2:3
2National Cancer Data Linkage Platform of China:Design,Methods,and Application显示文摘Background:The National Cancer Center(NCC)and China CDC cooperatively designed a National Cancer Data Linkage(NCDL)Platform to fulfill the task of sharing cancer outcome data through an automatic web-based system.Methods:NCC and China CDC established a web-based NCDL Platform to link death information from China CDC with the cancer database from NCC.Overall,76,708 cancer patients’data were analyzed to assess the feasibility and match rate of the NCDL Platform for 7 major cancers.Results:The function of the platform includes a data application and approval system,data linkage module,and results visualization system.Through the platform,38.9%cases were identified as deaths cases from the NCDL Platform in the first 3 years after cancer diagnosis.The linkage rate was highest in liver cancer and lowest in breast cancer.Conclusions:The NCDL Platform provides a powerful and efficient way to link national vital statistics with national cancer programs’data.Expanding cancer outcome data linkage may not only improve data collection efficiency,but also improve data use.Hongmei Zeng Yunning Liu Lijun Wang Peng Yin Baohua Wang Ruiying Fu Xianhui Ran Rongshou Zheng Siwei Zhang Jiangmei Liu Jinling You Kexin Sun Shaoming Wang Li Li Ru Chen Wenqiang Wei Maigeng Zhou Jing Wu Jie He 2022China CDC weekly2022,4,13:1

4Drag increment induced by a small-scale forward-facing step in Mach number5 turbulent boundary layer flows显示文摘Small-scale roughness elements or imperfections are inevitable over the surface of a flight vehicle.The aerodynamics of these small-scale structures is difficult to predict but may play an important role in the design of a flight vehicle at high speed.The forward-facing step is a typical type of roughness element.Many experiments have been conducted to study the aerodynamics of supersonic forward-facing step,especially with a step height larger than boundary layer thickness.However,few studies focus on small steps.To improve the understanding of small-scale forwardfacing step flow,we perform a series of simulations to analyze its aerodynamic influence on a Mach number 5 turbulent boundary layer.The general flow structures are analyzed and discussed.Several shock waves can be induced by the step even if the step height is much smaller than the boundary layer thickness.Two significant shocks are the separation shock and the reattachment shock.The influenced area by the step is limited.With the increase of the step height,the non-dimensional influence area decreases and gradually converges when the step height reaches the boundary layer thickness.There are two normalized distributions of the skin friction coefficient and pressure coefficient associated with step height.By using the normalized parameters,a power-law relationship between the step height and the drag increment coefficient is revealed and fits the simulation results well.It is further illustrated that this relationship still holds when changing the inlet angle of attack,but needs slight modification with the angle of attack.Yifei XUE Jie REN Jinling LUO Song FU 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,10:1
5Individual variation in buffalo somatic cell cloning efficiency is related to glycolytic metabolism显示文摘Mammalian individuals differ in their somatic cell cloning efficiency,but the mechanisms leading to this variation is poorly understood.Here we found that high cloning efficiency buffalo fetal fibroblasts(BFFs)displayed robust energy metabolism,looser chromatin structure,high H3 K9 acetylation and low heterochromatin protein 1α(HP1α)expression.High cloning efficiency BFFs had more H3 K9 ac regions near to the upstream of glycolysis genes by Ch IP-seq,and involved more openness loci related to glycolysis genes through ATAC-seq.The expression of these glycolysis genes was also found to be higher in high cloning efficiency BFFs by q RT-PCR.Two key enzymes of glycolysis,PDKs and LDH,were confirmed to be associated with histone acetylation and chromatin openness of BFFs.Treatment of low cloning efficiency BFFs with PS48(activator of PDK1)resulted in an increase in the intracellular lactate production and H3 K9 acetylation,decrease in histone deacetylase activity and HP1αexpression,less condensed chromatin structure and more cloning embryos developing to blastocysts.These results indicate that the cloning efficiency of buffalo somatic cells is associated with their glycolytic metabolism and chromatin structure,and can be improved by increasing glycolytic metabolism.Chan Luo Zhiqiang Wang Jinling Wang Feng Yun Fenghua Lu Jiayuan Fu Qingyou Liu Deshun Shi 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,10:0
6Diazoxide preconditioning antagonizes cytotoxicity induced by epileptic seizures显示文摘Diazoxide, an activator of mitochondrial ATP-sensitive potassium channels, can protect neurons and astrocytes against oxidative stress and apoptosis. In this study, we established a cellular model of epilepsy by culturing hippocampal neurons in magnesium-free medium, and used this to investigate effects of diazoxide preconditioning on the expression of inwardly rectifying potassium channel (Kir) subunits of the ATP-sensitive potassium. We found that neuronal viability was significantly reduced in the epileptic cells, whereas it was enhanced by diazoxide preconditioning. Double immunofluorescence and western blot showed a significant increase in the expression of Kir6.1 and Kir6.2 in epileptic cells, especially at 72 hours after seizures. Diazoxide pretreatment completely reversed this effect at 24 hours after seizures. In addition, Kir6.1 expression was significantly upregulated compared with Kir6.2 in hippocampal neurons after seizures.
